Statement Analysis of Bill Clinton On Hillary

Former President Bill Clinton says wife Hillary Clinton is qualified to be president, but he says she's tired after serving as secretary of state and he has no idea what she may do.
He told CBS television's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that she wants to take some time off and may write a book.
"We ought to give her a chance to organize her life and decide what she wants to do," Clinton said.
Note "we" is plural.  Note that there are things we "ought" to do that we don't.  This is not a statement that he (and others) are going to wait to give her a chance for anything.
He also said his wife is among a lot of qualified Democrats who could run and that whatever she wants to do.
"I'm for her, first, last and always," Clinton said, adding, "I have no earthly idea what she'll decide to do."
Statement Analysis:  The plans by Bill and company  for Hillary for President are set in stone.
Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2008 but lost the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama.

Peter could you analyze Obama's response to 60 Minutes?

Steve Kroft: 'Have the events that took place in the Middle East, the recent events in the Middle East given you any pause about your support for the governments that have come to power following the Arab Spring?

Obama: 'Well, I’d said even at the time that this is going to be a rocky path. The question presumes that somehow we could have stopped this wave of change. 'I think it was absolutely the right thing for us to do to align ourselves with democracy, universal rights — a notion that people have to be able to participate in their own governance.

'But I was pretty certain and continue to be pretty certain that there are going to be bumps in the road because, you know, in a lot of these places, the one organizing principle has been Islam.'

I'd love to see this analyzed!

I don't think Hillary needs Bill to speak for her. I'd like to hear her own thoughts on the matter.

Keeping in mind that this is not a direct quote from Hillary, the idea that she wants to take some time off is problematic. One cannot just take some time off from being Secretary of State. The phrase "organize her life" tells me that some aspect of her life is in disarray and causing her stress and him also. There's some conflict or unresolved issue (likely between he and Hillary). The phrasing, followed immediately by "decide what she wants to do", suggests that it is her decision alone. That never bodes well in a marriage. A marriage is supposed to be a partnership between two people, with each one seeking what is best for both and supporting each other. Order is important. He leads off with she'd like a break, she's tired, and an "I having nothing in this." attitude. Then he tells us he's "for her, first, last, and always.". That's ironic coming from a husband with a well-documented history of preferring other women to the wife of his youth. We're supposed to believe that this man, who's repeatedly and very publicly betrayed and humiliated his wife, supports her completely. I have to question why now? What has changed? From all appearances, it is he that is tagging along on her coattails now. It would appear that the balance of power has shifted. Is this a working relationship? "Bill, I'll continue to stand by you and support you in your run up to the White House. I'll even support you through this Monica Lewinsky scandal, but you better back me when it's my turn." Is that what he's laying some track for? The public should really be asking "What's your motivation?" to both Bill and Hillary. Their personal relationship has been so abnormal, dysfunctional for most of their marriage. Why would I trust either of them to lead a country when they can't even manage a marriage? Deception is like stirring a spoonful of dirt into your lemonade. It muddies your character. Your character determines how you will behave and treat or mistreat others. Just sayin'

I think Hillary knows if Obama wins a second term, she will need to dis-associate herself, so she won't be tied to him when he crashes and burns. Then she'll be sitting pretty and ready to run in 2016. For the recovery. And Bill will be right there with her. (can she pick Bill as a running mate?)
