Hailey Dunn Case: Announcement Forthcoming?

Is an announcement about the remains in Scurry County forthcoming?

Stay tuned.

Another family has been notified that the remains are not their loved one, which indicates that the process of notification may have begun.   Take with a grain of salt anything from the mother of Hailey Dunn who has used passive language to describe her contact with law enforcement; the same law enforcement she claims deliberately targeted her and Shawn Adkins, and conspired together to not search for Hailey, but to blame them.   Her statements about contact with Law Enforcement are not only associated with sensitivity indicators, it is the passivity which seeks to conceal information.

The remains were found and it has been reported faithfully that an item of clothing near the remains has given a strong indication of a young female.

The county is where Adkins said Hailey should be found in.

The length of time to report back the remains may be due to the diligent work of prosecutors who intend to bring justice to Hailey.  This may include the process of forensic evidence from what the remains may yield

We await official announcement from the authorities who are responsible for bringing to justice those who perpetrated criminal action against Hailey Dunn.

Prayer for Jake's family is needed.

Regarding coveralls:   It has been reported that Adkins posted on the Michael Myers board that he had several pair of coveralls, and how to make them look like  Michael Myers' coveralls...this as a grown man:

SHAWN ADKINS: OK, um, OK the 26th of December I had Billie wash one of my two pairs of my coveralls and one pair was in my locker at my job. And then Monday morning when I went in to work I brought the one pair of coveralls Billie had washed, I brought them with me and I took them to work and put them in my locker. And there are many cameras on that property where I work and that will show me walking into that locker room with a pair of coveralls and me walking out of that place with no coveralls.

Height - 5'9 - 6'3 - weight - " 145lbs" - Jake's stats -

The remains found then are  -     -

Peter, are you insinuating a possible lie by omission from Adkins. Perhaps truthful, about having two pair of coveralls that were issued by his employer but omitting coveralls that were personally purchased by Adkins?

Recently, posters were passing along inaccurate information about jurisdiction.

It is true that lazy law enforcement officers can pass the buck by claiming that something is not in their jurisdiction. Kind of the police version of "Not my job, man." However, if any part of the crime occurred in their jurisdiction, including the actions of accomplices or co-conspirators, then there is concurrent (overlapping) jurisdiction. Additionally, law enforcement officers can travel outside their jurisdiction to other counties, other states and even other countries if necessary to their investigation.

For example, when Scott Peterson murdered his wife Laci, it did not matter whether she actually died in Modesto (Stanislaus County) where she lived or Berkeley (Alameda County) where Scott launched his boat to dump her body in the bay or Richmond (Contra Costa County) where her body was discovered; all three counties had jurisdiction if they wanted to exercise it. Furthermore, the venue for the trial ended up getting moved, due to pretrial publicity, to San Mateo County due to pretrial publicity which had no factual connection but which nonetheless had jurisdiction due to being a Superior Court located in the State of California.

It is true that one state does not have jurisdiction over crimes committed in another state, so the perpetrator must be extradited back to the state where the offense occurred - like Jodi Arias being extradited from California to stand trial in Arizona for a murder she committed there. However, if committing the crime involves more than one state then each state has jurisdiction. For example, if someone is kidnapped from California and transported (dead or alive) through Nevada to Arizona where their remains are later discovered, all three states have legal jurisdiction even though generally the proper venue is where the greatest amount of evidence and witnesses can be found.

Sometimes defendants try to raise uncertainty about where the offense occurred as a legal defense -- along the lines of, You can't prove the FLDS bigamists molested/impregnated their underage "wives" in Texas instead of Arizona or Utah so you can't prosecute these men for child molestation in Texas. However, this defense argument did not prevent the men from being prosecuted in Texas because the presence of the underage pregnant wives in Texas gives Texas jurisdiction even if the defendants argue that the crimes really occurred in Arizona or Utah.

When a perpetrator commits federal crimes as well as state crimes, there is concurrent state and federal jurisdiction as well. In other words, the state and its counties don't stop having jurisdiction just because the feds have jurisdiction as well. As the police officers who beat Rodney King discovered, you can be prosecuted in state court for state crimes then be prosecuted in federal court for federal crimes arising out of the same occurrence. Federal crimes tend to be more serious and the feds tend to have greater resources available, thus the cliche "making a federal case out of something" equating to "making a mountain out of a molehill."

Not sure why but those coveralls are very sensitive. Why would he need to make a point that they had cameras at his work place? He needed to 'prove' he went in with coveralls and came out without coveralls.

I hope the rest of the families with missing loved ones are notified today. And hope that I wake up tomorrow morning with the announcement that Shawn and Billie have been arrested. Of course I expect to see that announcement here, not from local media.

I am not insinuating anything; only reported what I have been told and wondering about the coveralls; did he have more? was he so into looking like Michael Myers that he wore this as tribute? It is all so very disturbing in light of a dead child.

Perhaps "insinuating" was not the word I should have chosen. I did not mean it in a negative way. I have some thoughts along the same lines as what you have expressed. Thank you for you answer.

I don't know when Adkin's quote was from but maybe it was in response to Dunn's new-found suspicions of him.

Billie claims that lately she's been reflecting heavily on the past, and how strangely Shawn was acting those first few days after Hailey's disappearance.

"For instance, the main thing about him quitting his job and lying to me about it for a week, saying he had a job and then telling me he was fired when, in fact, he wasn't," she said.

Dunn also finds it suspicious that her ex-boyfriend, she claims, couldn't produce his coveralls, a type of work uniform, when a law enforcement requested them.

"The fact that he lied and said they were at work and we already know through video and through his boss that he didn't leave them at work. So, why are they hidden?" Dunn said.

She suspects he may know more about Hailey's whereabouts than what everyone originally thought.

"I love the part about more than EVERYONE thought" LOL

My hypothesis on the coveralls is as follows:
SA took the coveralls that contained DNA from a crime
Goes into the WSI locker room and gets a clean pair from the laundered pile.
Takes the “soiled coveralls” and places them in the “to be laundered” bin.
Places clean coveralls in his locker, and leaves WSI.
He now worries that authorities may have gotten to them before the Laundry service dose?

OT -
Boston is still in an essential "lockdown" while the manhunt continues. People are being asked to stay home, away from windows, with their doors locked.

[Updated 2:04 p.m. ET] Connecticut State Police have issued an alert for another vehicle, saying a wanted suspect in the Boston Marathon attack now could be in a 1999 green Honda Civic with Massachusetts license plate number 116 GC7. The CSP cited Boston authorities.

Connecticut police issued a similar alert earlier today for a different vehicle; that vehicle eventually was found unoccupied Friday in the Boston area, Boston police said.

If WSI furnished coveralls for their employees, wouldn't they be laundered by a 'service'? If so the coveralls would have had Shawn's name or initials on a tag. At least that's how my husband's uniforms are done. I agree the coveralls are significant to Hailey's disappearance.

I'll move my "analysis" over from the other thread we SA's quote about coveralls.

(And x 2) missing information re coveralls and leading up to cameras (wanting to be scene/documented or not... ). Lots of extra wording.

... I had Billie wash one of my two pairs of my coveralls .......walking into that locker room with "A" pair of coveralls and me walking out of that place with no coveralls.

I'm wondering if there was a third pair of overalls. Someone else's? is there any time when SA wasn't on camera? Was he able to switch his coveralls with someone else's on the way to his locker before putting "a" pair of coveralls in his locker? Why would he just show up to drop off overalls especially if they were clean? Why not wait for the employer to request that he return them if he was quitting his job? Why bother showing up at all, unless he had an agenda (overalls).

Pointhunter, I'm thinking the same thing as you... not only is coveralls sensitive, so is his awareness of cameras. Maybe he knows where they are/aren't when he would be recorded/not. If he knew of a locker he could access with Clean coversalls off camera, the soiled (washed but DNA still accessible) would be in someone else's locker. That way if LE went looking for his coveralls in his locker, it would be someone else's "clean" (of DNA) coveralls.

Nic said...

To add, "I had Billie wash one of my two pairs of my (work?) overalls. The sentence is incomple unless you place a word between "my" and "overalls".

Also, he changes the reality from always saying "my" coveralls to "a" pair of coveralls. As in not his coveralls.

That's how I'm reading/interpreting it.

Just curious...

Also, if its one of those places that wash all uniforms, then having Billie wash them FIRST is even more concerning..

Also Peter, I had to google Michael Myers. I didnt even know who he was. And all I got was a bunch of images of well, a physco.

I will never understand the joy in characters/films like this.

They get worse every year. I dont even like watching the commericals for them.... They creep me out. That not only do people think about all these horrors, but there are many out there that do them.

Its frighting to know they are free and walking around.

I'm not talking about a name tag on the front of his coveralls or shirt. I am talking about a tag that identifies the employee with the individual uniform. My husband's tag has his last name with some numbers and a bar code.

Peter those words from Shawn about his coveralls was actually posted on my page, I still have his exact words from many conversations I had with him if you would like them.

Maybe he realized that even after being washed they could still have evidence on them so he made a show of leaving them at work and being caught on camera. But he actually went into the locker room, tucked them inside the clothes he was wearing and left work with them to be disposed of later. He made such a point to say what the camera would see.

Shelley said...

Shawn making a point of stating that there were cameras to VERIFY reminds me of Jodi.

Her mom said on the police interrogation tapes that when Jodi called to tell her about Travis she instantly asked her "were you in california" and Jodis reply was...

"no, and I have the gas receipts to prove it"

to me, those are such odd statements to make that they really stand out.

I think he he had to get rid of those coverals and I think Jodi used the gas cans to avoid needed to get gas in the state of Arizona so she was not suspect in Traviss murder.

Does anyone know if LE recovered any coveralls from anywhere?

Shelly, I agree it makes no sense for her to wash them first if there is a service to do it for the employees. Good point.

Anonymous said...

You know what I think? I think LE is having Peter drop subjects on here to get us brainstorming on the chance we might come up with something useful, something that hasn't occurred to them yet. As if ! LOL

If BJD did wash them (to remove visible signs of blood) then she is culpable. There'll be no weaseling out of that fact.

It will be interesting to learn whether LE has the coveralls or not.

Light the Way said...

Couldn't it just be that the coverall statement is flagging as sensitive NOT because of the coveralls per se, but because the returning of "coveralls" to his workplace was an integral part of his alibi-establishment for that morning?
Perhaps SA was trying to "prove" his account of arrival at workplace that morning by focusing on one minor detail (ie. the coveralls he ACTUALLY had with him) in order to say: "See I AM telling the truth!"

Just a thought

Child Advocate said...

Pointhunter,
I never thought of it ok as (once upon a time), I usually view it as stalling for time. You make a very good point.

I'm not an expert at SA at all. What I have found is SA has made me aware of the words I use. I realize now, when I used "we" instead of "I", often I was using it with my children and I said we in order to share responsibility for a rule. I didn't want to be the only bad guy.

I seldom use the word "just" now, because when I was using it, I was minimizing, even when there was no reason to.

If someone asks me if I did something, I simply answer with a "yes" or a "no". I give explainations if requested.

These are just a few examples of how SA has helped me learn to communicate clearly, in addition to learning about others use of words. SA has taught me better communication skills.

Thank you, Peter and Heather for teaching a valuable tool in life.

My thoughts and prayers are with Hailey as we all wait for justice.

John Mc Gowan said...

Again he uses distancing language when he mentions the cameras.

I have always thought that Shawn went to work that specifically to be recorded on the camera. His actions that day, just walking out after 10 minutes and not saying anything to anyone and lying about quitting his job are so odd.The coveralls always seemed sensitive to me.

Anonymous said...

Light the Way, yes I can see that as a reason for the sensitivity. Looking at it from that perspective, why did he go to work at all the morning? A whole different train of thought.

? said...

I just can't imagine what he hoped to gain by dropping by work. It doesn't establish an alibi. The timing of him quitting that day only makes him look more suspicious.

Anonymous said...

I personally think he needed something at work on his way to dispose of Hailey's body.

Nic said...

John it could be SA's use of "that" is to disassociate himself (distance himself) from whatever it was (incriminating evidence?) he left there.

Walking might have been used to "mask" his real feelings of urgency to get out of there and onto what needed to be done. He wanted to appear/sound "calm".

Not sure if this has been shared before. But was trying to get the timeline down of the 27th which is the day I think Hailey was killed.

This site is a google map with icons showing cell ping locations and times, has icons for the Dunn home, Billies work, Shawns work, Shawns mother and grandmother etc.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&t=h&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=206712377457840198355.000498a54a49c9ef478db

I did some map quest directions from this point as it gives you time frames to get from point A to point B

Here is what I came up with that times it about perfect from the time Shawn clocked into work, and arrived back at the Dunn house around 4pm right before David came home
Keep in mind the mapquest direction times are estimates and based on normal speeds. If someone speeds, they could easily beat that time.
6:00am SA clocked in work
6:10 SA clocked out
FROM SHAWNS WORKS TO DUNN HOUSE IS 34 MINS –DRIVING FASTER COULD GET HIM THEIR FASTER
He could have arrived right around 6:30 and make a call to check in….
6:35-6:56 SA cell phone pings at Dunn house
FROM DUNN HOUSE TO LAKE THOMAS WHERE REMAINS WERE FOUND NEAR IS 48 MINS
He would arrive about 8am…..
I would assume he spent about 20-30 minutes looking for a spot. If you do a street view around this area, there is NOTHING out here but bushes and trees. I can see where someone would think it would be unlikely a body would be found.
FROM LAKE THOMAS AREA TO SA MOTHERS HOUSE IS 49 MINS
If he left about 8:30am, he would arrive about 9:20 am to his moms
He then had 11 pings from 9:38 to 2:40
Then assuming he left shortly after that last call around 2:40pm….
FROM SA MOTHERS HOUSE TO DUNN HOUSE IS IS 42 MINS
This would put him home right about 3:30
He may have then locked the door to make sure anything that may have been out of place or needed cleaned up was done.
Sounds like David got home about 4pm. This is when he says the doors were locked and when he broke in, saw Shawn, Shawn looked like a deer in the headlights.
So, I think hailey was dead the night before. I think it was after David left.
I think possible Shawn took some measure to put body away in plastic or something (assuming that as I don’t recall hearing any cadaver hits but if I am wrong let me know) and was wearing the overalls when it happened.
I think he then figured he could get the overalls to work for the machine heavy duty cleaning and have an alibi (I think he tried to sneak out unseen but was my mistake) as he was at work all day. I kinda think he knew someone saw him leave and that may have changed his plan…… Cause with the times, he could have been back at work in enough time if he just went to the Dunn house, to the Lake and back. Its only 31 mins from the lake this work.
So, does not put in all the pieces but to see the big picture on a map of where he was went and how long it takes to get from A to B.

So now we continue to wait to see if this is poor Hailey.
And whoever it is, I hope they get justice!

Just waitin' said...

Didn't Shawn's dad work at WSI?

Shelley said...

And I think with work, I think he was hoping to not be seen leaving.

I am not sure what the building layout is and if he has a set station he is at or is moving around.

It would be easy if he worked someone independant to do that. Granted it would be a risk. But it could happen. Every job is different but I have worked at places were it is somewhat easy for someone to sneak off.

But I think he tried to sneak out. But that someone saw him (which we do know) but its possible at the time he realized aas well he was caught so tried to alter the story to he was fired?

Just a thought.

? said...

That makes sense Shelly. Other than something having to do with the overalls or your explanation, I can't think of any other reason for him to even to in that day. Arriving at work on time just to quit, and then not quitting would be pointless.

My hubs worked at a uniform place for 6 years. Say they have uniforms, most employees have 11 sets uniforms. Say their business gets delivery on Friday. They have 6 sets of uniforms in their possession and the rental company has 5. That way SA would have a uniform for every work day and one in case something happened. So, say my husband was running the stop, he would pick up the 5 dirty sets and leave 5 clean. All of the uniforms at dh's place of employment have a tag in it with a bar code that is specific to each customer at each place of business, so it absolutely can be tracked back to the specific person.

Now, some places do not choose to use the laundry service portion of their rental agreement, but that is rare. If something came in damaged, the company would replace it but the damage would be noted because unless otherwise specified in the agreement that they won't be charged, SA's employer would have to pay to replace the damaged garment.

If the garment has blood on it, it is noted because it is a bio hazard issue and it can't be washed with anything else.

Peter,
You said previously that there were no references to water (or washing) in the mother's verbiage. But here is the boyfriend who references the washing of his overalls on more than one occasion.
It wasn't really necessary to tell us they were washed. No one was accusing him of returning dirty overalls. The "story" or sentence could have worked without it. But it was important to him to tell us that they were washed.

What's your view on that since these things were told so much later in the game? Does the "water" or "washing" have to come in during the retelling of the actual event?

What would the two guilty peoples main concerns be regards getting away with the Crime.

First they want to COVER ALL there tracks build an alibi.

Then next thing on to do list after the killing.
Construct a story that can explain away why it took so long to report Hailey as Missing an make the story fit over all with the events surounding her disapearance ie.

Overall were all the players were ie Billie at Work Shawn going into work with COVERALLS to cover all bases an create an alibi .

shawn did feel "dirty" for having worked at WSI. he quit that job, how much distancing should there be in his statements.
lol someone posted "I think LE is having Peter drop subjects on here to get us brainstorming on the chance we might come up with something useful" lmao, no they only had to come to me.

@ Shelley
Keep in mind the mapquest direction times are estimates and based on normal speeds. If someone speeds, they could easily beat that time.
BUT THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THAT LUMINA WENT 140mph ALL THE WAY FROM SNYDER TO BIG SPRING

shawn was at work early, so 6am does not accurately show the drive timing.
6:00am SA clocked in work

FROM DUNN HOUSE TO LAKE THOMAS WHERE REMAINS WERE FOUND NEAR IS 48 MINS
He would arrive about 8am…..
but damn, he was at his moms at 8am, not the lake

He may have then locked the door to make sure anything that may have been out of place or needed cleaned up was done.
yes i bet he eeffed off at his moms looking at child porn when he needed to get home and clean up blood while wearing his coveralls he turned into work.

You know what I think? I think LE is having Peter drop subjects on here to get us brainstorming on the chance we might come up with something useful, something that hasn't occurred to them yet. Emphasis on AS IF! LOL

A bit of editing and isolating helps make a point. Context troll, context.

Shawn had to get rid of the coveralls and his car was running out side at work, what if he already got ride of body at lake before he went to work, them he went to the house to clean up then went to moms house

While sitting in her prison cell in Italy, thousands of miles from home, Amanda Knox contemplated how she could kill herself.

The shocking new detail is one of many penned in the American student’s new memoir, ‘Waiting to be Heard,’ which is slated to be published at the end of the month.

The Seattle-native spent four years in a prison cell in Perugia after being convicted for the murder of her roommate, British student Meredith Kercher. Knox also revealed that while living in her flat abroad, ‘marijuana was as common as pasta.’

Those details are only a few reported by the New York Times, which obtained an advance copy of the memoir.

Knox writes that she at times felt trapped and pondered ending her life.

‘I started to understand how you could feel so locked inside your own life that you could be so desperate to escape, even if that meant that you would no longer exist.’

She writes that she was shocked to learn she was put on suicide watch after her 2009 conviction, and was equally surprised when a prison psychiatrist asked her if she had ever contemplated it.

According to the Times, Knox at one point considered suffocating herself with a garbage bag.

Two weeks from now, readers will discover the ins and outs of the Seattle student’s grueling ordeal and the transformation from a carefree college student to an internationally-recognized convicted murderer.

The memoir, published by HarperCollins, is due to be released on April 30, and contain first-person accounts from the trial and its immediate aftermath.

But according to ABC News, it does not include her life after the trial, or her reactions after Italy’s highest court demanded last month that she face a retrial.

The Seattle-native also wrote that being naïve and proud contributed to her initial guilty conviction, judging herself for acting ‘like a lost, pathetic child’ when dealing with Italian authorities.

She also denied that she was performing cartwheels outside the police station after she was arrested, an infamous action that was widely reported at the time of the trial.

According to the Times, HarperCollins publishers have described Knox as intelligent and charming, and did not shy away from unsavory facts. In fact, Knox is reported to want to use this platform to confront the rumors, myths, and confusion associated with the case that enthralled the world.

During the murder trial for 21-year-old Kercher, the Italian prosecution condemned Knox as a ‘she devil’ and used passages from Knox’s journal where she wrote she would ‘kill’ for a pizza.'

Knox writes that the prosecution took these entries out of context, saying that it was merely ‘gallow humor.’

Her time behind bars at Capanne Prison, outside of Perugia, was extremely difficult for Knox, who writes that she was taunted by her cell-mates for being a snob, noticing she spent most of her time behind bars reading and writing letters.

ABC News notes that all throughout the 484-page memoir, Knox professes her innocence.

The book will be published in the U.S., but not in the U.K., amid fears that the memoir could further complicate the retrial that Italy’s highest court dramatically ruled last month.

Since her release, Knox has been at Washington State studying creative writing.

Italian Raffaele Solecito was convicted alongside Knox in 2009 of killing Miss Kercher but the pair were freed in October 2011 after their convictions were overturned due to a lack of evidence. However, both now face a retrial after Italy's highest court demanded it.

Miss Kercher, a 21-year-old from Leeds University, was found semi-naked and with her throat cut in a house she shared with Knox in Perugia, Italy, in November 2007.

Miss Knox became 'Foxy Knoxy' and received the brunt of the attention as she shopped for underwear after the killing and turned cartwheels in front of investigators.

Sollecito tells how he met Knox at a classical music concert in Perugia before going on to spend the night with her.

Tania Cadogan said...

Within a week, Miss Kercher was murdered and the couple fell instantly under the spotlight of suspicion.

In the hours after the gruesome murder scene was discovered, the duo was notoriously photographed kissing and cuddling in the street outside while police investigated.

Italian authorities later described Sollecito’s behavior ass ‘odd’, and acknowledged the two had no real alibi 'except each other.'

They eventually told police that they had been smoking marijuana and having sex in Sollecito's apartment before falling asleep.

The pair was imprisoned days after the November 1, 2007 death of Kercher in the central Italian city. Both would remain there for nearly four years.

An appeals court overturned their conviction and freed them last fall, issuing a 143-page opinion that blasted the utter lack of evidence against them.

Rudy Guede, a petty criminal who was convicted separately, remains imprisoned and is serving a 16-year-sentence.

Police found their behavior 'odd' and he acknowledged they had no 'real alibi the night of November 1 except each other.'

The couple were arrested several days after Kercher's death and later convicted in proceedings that made headlines around the world.

Prosecutors portrayed the case as a drug-fuelled sexual assault, and Knox and Sollecito were sentenced to 26 years and 25 years, respectively.

The appeals court found the prosecution's theory to be unsupported by any evidence.

Prosecutors have appealed the acquittal, and Italy's highest court will hear their arguments next March.

Sollecito met Knox at a classical music concert at the Universita per Stranieri, the University for Foreigners, on October 25, 2007 - a week before Kercher's death.

He asked for her number, and she told him to come by the bar where she'd be working later that night.

At the end of the shift, he writes in his new book, they took a walk, held hands and kissed. She accepted an invitation to come back to his apartment and spent the night.

Soon the couple became inseparable. She began spending the nights at his apartment. They shopped for groceries together, and took a sightseeing day trip to Assisi.

MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - The husband of missing a teacher and mother is denying any involvement in her disappearance.

Chris Jones showed up in divorce court where a hearing was scheduled between he and his wife, Heather Palumbo-Jones. She was reported missing Monday.

Jones told Action News 5 he has no idea where his wife could be.

"What happened to her?" asked Andrew Douglas.

Jones responded, "That's a good question."

"Did you have anything to do with her disappearance?"

"Absolutely not!" Jones answered.

Heather Palumbo Jones is a teacher and mother of two. She filed for divorce in January from her husband Chris Jones. Later that month Heather also took out an order of protection against her husband.

"You had a protection order against you, can you explain why?" asked Douglas.

"There was a power struggle over a cellular device and it involved invading my privacy and in the grips of both of us having our hands on that device at the same time, our leverage gave way and we both fell to the ground and that was the end of it," Jones said.

"That sounds a little odd," said Douglas.

In which Jones replied, "Two people grabbing one object, struggling over it, and then they lose balance together, it's not."

Yes good catch Bonnie. Did you catch the "tide"? They used tide detergent so I think that means that someone will come in with the tide. The stars are lining up perfectly with Mars in a triangular way so if you watch the farthest star in the galaxy tonight you will see a Parthenon of the most absurd kind. It will ignite with a flourish and spell out the kidnappers name. Good luck.

But what they did was evil, and that is where our focus needs to be.

Irish Nanny Denies Baby Murder In US Court.

Aisling McCarthy Brady is accused of violently beating a baby girl she was looking after in Massachusetts.8:27am UK, Friday 19 April 2013
Aisling Brady McCarthy will appear in court again on May 9

An Irish nanny accused of beating a one-year-old girl who later died has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Aisling Brady McCarthy is also facing charges of assaulting Rehma Sabir on her first birthday, at the baby's home in Cambridge, Massachusetts earlier this year.

The nanny, who has been living in America illegally since 2002, had the charges upgraded on Thursday and will appear in court again on May 9.

The 34-year-old, who was refused bail, is facing charges of first degree murder and for allegedly violently injuring the baby, causing her death.

Court records previously revealed that a blood-stained pillow, blanket and baby wipes were found in Rehma's bedroom after emergency services were called to the home on January 14.

Official reports said a post-mortem found that Rehma's death was caused by blunt force head injuries which were not accidental.

Records from the latest hearing stated that Cambridge Police responded to a report of an unresponsive infant at the home and found baby Rehma breathing but unconscious.

She was taken to the Children's Hospital in Boston suffering from brain damage including subdural and retinal haemorrhaging and cerebral swelling.

The youngster was pronounced dead on January 16.

Court records also stated that the police investigation, including witness statements, showed Brady McCarthy, who had been living in the Quincy area south of Boston, was in sole care of Rehma on January 14.

Police also alleged the nanny was the only person in contact with Rehma when she sustained abusive head trauma injuries that caused her death.

Brady McCarthy had been employed as a nanny by entrepreneur Sameer Sabir, the baby's father, and his wife Nada Siddiqui, who is originally from Karachi, Pakistan.

The couple had moved from London to the US.

The nanny worked for them for six months until their baby's death.

Investigators who interviewed Brady said she told them the baby seemed "her usual self" on the morning of the alleged assault.

She told them that in the afternoon she put Rehma in her crib, believing she was tired, but THREE hours later returned to find her "clenching her fists and her arms and legs were stiff".

Around that time Ms Siddiqui returned home and called police.

Brady McCarthy's lawyer, Melinda Thompson, claimed after the arrest that her client had no role in the baby's death.

She has no criminal record.

Billie did reference water washing on Nancy Grace. The question to Billie was; "Miss Dunn, when she would typically go for a sleepover, would she take a bag and take a lot of stuff with her?" Billie's answer was;"Nothing at all...She would just go over there with whatever was on her back, and wait until the next day to come home, brush her teeth, take a bath, freshen up." "Nothing at all" was a sufficient answer so why did Billie add 3 references to Hailey washing?

When you have read a transcript or listened to a statement, phone call etc..After a certain amount of time go back and re-read it again, and more often than not it will yield 40% extra information..

Miss T,

The 40% theory is that when the analyst enters into the statement, there will be emotional interactions and he/she will spot deception and follow it through.

When the analyst returns to the statement after a period of time where he is no longer emotionally involved with it, the statement will yield up to 40% more information on the next go around.

This is sometimes avoided when the analysis is done in a group.

Group analysis really has the best effect; digging in, coming in to it from various angles, asking each other questions, challenging one another, and so on. It yields more as well.

Over the years, I have revisited statements and have been amazed what I had "missed" the first or second time around.

The water in the statements of BJD on Nancy Grace is a perfect example.

The subject of a poly knows he/she failed because of the specific questions.

In this case, I believe she was told, not when she failed it, but that night, during interrogation, she was specifically told that she failed the most relevant questions about Hailey's death.

It is interesting to note that when someone passes a polygraph, they say, "because I told the truth" with:

1. The pronoun "I"

2. The past tense "told"

3. The word "truth"

When a guilty person is told they failed the test, they will avoid these words "I told the truth" WHEN specific questions arise.

They can say "I told the truth" on the question about their address, or their name, but when it zones into the question of the allegation, the person will not say so.

BJD is no exception. Many times, in many interviews, when asked about the polygraph, she avoids the internal stress of the direct and confrontational lie of "I told the truth" instead going after things like the polygrapher, or that they upset her telling her Shawn failed.

About this:

She was NOT told that Shawn failed his polygraph until later that night.

She said that they had her "pretty upset" saying things about Shawn not passing.

She was clever and Nancy Grace did not catch on to her at this point.

She and Shawn were not given the results after taking them....immediately.

Later that night, she was interrogated and it was during the interrogation she was told of both results.

interestingly enough, she stitched these two together to make people believe that it was moments before taking her own she was told "Shawn Adkins failed", but this is not so.

She is clever and it helps to read the Transcripts with the analysis.

By now, many readers can read the transcripts ALONE and pick up the deceptive portions!

Peter
