"Holding My Hand Through Hell" Crime Wire & Susan

You can hear Crime Wire Investigates Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Eastern.
Please visit our Crime Wire Website for more discussion in the Forum section.
Together we can make a difference.

Two years ago, April, 2010, Susan Murphy Milano released her third book, Time’s Up: A Guide on How to Leave an Abusive and Stalking Relationship which includes the revolutionary tool for leaving abusive relationships safely, the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit.

May 22, 2012 was the last Crime Wire show Susan recorded with co-host, Dennis Griffin, before her death on October 28, 2012, but the information contained in this show is timeless and useful for any victim of abuse who is thinking about getting out safely.

On the show Susan talks frankly with 2 survivors of abusive relationships and how important the book Time’s Up and the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit was in securing their safety.
Susan Murphy Milano turned her 20 years of experience in the field of high risk domestic violence cases into more than a book, a tool for others to use in order to save the lives of those needing escape from a violent or stalking relationship.

Born with an instinct to come up with strategies to escape the abuse happening in her own home, Susan has consistently used that instinctive gift towards helping others by working with them in the “danger zone.”

Everyone involved in the movement against family violence should have these tools available, especially the unique “Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit” which is a series of forms and a video that will be a voice for victims who need to be heard. Cases will be resolved and abusers will be arrested.

Safety plans have been created over the years, but nothing like what is set forth in “Time’s Up” has been presented to be used by those who come in contact with a victim every step of the way, such as attorneys, hospital personnel, prosecutors, advocates and shelter workers. This information needs to be in the victim’s hands as early as possible to prevent any further escalation of violence.

The Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (iEAA) is also available as an app in the Apple Store.
Susan’s last book, Holding My Hand Through Hell, is her legacy to all of the victims who are still alive today that were able to come in contact with her unique talents and intuition on how to escape safely. It will show you why she did what she did to save your life, it’s the true story of who Susan Murphy Milano really was.

On a personal note, several of you have asked about the book I was writing.  Here is a good place and time to update you...

Susan was going to publish it for me and was handling all the details, as the book was almost complete.  I haven't had the heart to finish it since Susan's death.

Her work for victims of domestic violence was tireless and continues to inspire.  "Holding My Hand Through Hell" is not an easy read, but an essential one.

For what it's worth, in light of recent domestic violence experts testifying in a court of law and turning upside down what it means to be a victim of domestic violence, you will all be happy to see that in an Amazon customer review, Susan Murphy Milano was recommended as "a true survivor who has written facts from her own experiences". It was good to see her name come up as a beacon of light to those in need.
