FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — As jury selection began Monday in the capital murder case of the man accused of raping and killing a 5-year-old Fayetteville girl more than three years ago, prosecutors offered a plea deal to end what is expected to be a two-month trial.
Mario Andretti McNeill, 32, of Pine Springs Drive in Fayetteville, has been charged with murder, kidnapping and rape in the death of Shaniya Davis. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
Prosecutors said they wouldn't seek the death penaltyagainst McNeill if he pleads guilty. The defense has until Tuesday to accept or reject the deal.

Fayetteville man guilty of killing Shaniya Davis not of raping her ...
A jury on Thursday convicted a Fayetteville man of kidnapping and killing a 5-year-old girl more than three years ago, but he was acquitted of raping her.

Most people are ignorant fools........unfortunately those become juror's all the time, for that reason alone I am glad my country doesn't use ignorant fools for a jury......my country only use ignorant judges who have no clue of the real world outside (that's how they come across when I hear them speak)
The world is a scary place with so many fools on it.
To many abusers get away because people are to stupid to see how evil many people are (hiding behind a wall of kindness) exactly the reason why I do not trust people from start....... trust needs to be earned........I haven't met many in 40+ years who earned my trust.
