Body found believed to be missing teen
GLENBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says a body was located Monday night and is likely the remains of fifteen year old Nichole Cable of Glenburn.
Positive identification will not take place until further examination by the State Medical Examiner's Office Tuesday. The remains were found about 9:30 p.m. by the Maine Warden Service at an undisclosed wooded location. oh no :(. I knew from prior posts that the situation was bleak, but I was hoping there would still be a happy outcome. I'll be praying for Nichole and her family.

I suspect it was someone who knew both her and the boy he pretended to be. (an older male perhaps?)
ReplyDeleteShe goes down to the end of the driveway to wait for the boy she expects to see, and someone she trusts drives up. She doesn't think anything of it, and talks to him, he somehow gets her in the car either physically or just coerces her in...he can't let her live after he has done whatever it is he does, (because she knows him)
I was hoping for a happy ending to this one. At least the parents will have some closure, so, I guess that's a small kindness.
I'm so sad to hear this news :(
ReplyDeleteThinking of Nichole's family and friends at this awful time.

To think in the blink of an eye at the end of your own driveway a stranger can abduct and murder a young teen. Today's world is a scary place, and the innocent typing on a keyboard can be the source of where it begins. I feel for her parents and the pain they are going through, I can't even begin to imagine :(
ReplyDeleteYoung people on the internet and social media are like Pandora. Their curiosity makes it almost impossible not to open that box. I know that if Facebook et al had been around when I was young, my curiosity would have put me at risk.
ReplyDeleteThe only positive I can come up with is after all the evil was released, the last thing to be set free from Pandora's box was hope.
Another lovely child gone...so terribly sad and evil. I agree with you, Skeptical. The internet/social media has given predators a whole new feeding ground. Thanks for the reminder of the Pandora's Box story. It was always a favorite.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand not releasing the name of a POI. The public may have information about him that can assist the investigation.
ReplyDeleteThe press conference is about to start:

I cannot hear - Kyle (?) 21 yr old male, from Orono, arrested, turned himself in, charged with Nichole's murder.
ReplyDeleteThe sound is too low.
Apple,
ReplyDeleteMaybe the POI put himself out there.
The officer first said, Kyle, 21yr old, now he repeated his first name, K, Y, L, E, from Orono, he is "20"
ReplyDeleteSorry for robo posting, I hope others are listening.

Hope of/for what?
That the person will be caught and brought to justice? That's hardly hope in comparison to not having Pandora's box opened at all.
Anon:
ReplyDeletePerhaps the take away after bad things happen to good people is all that remains is hope. When much has been lost, hope can keep us going - sometimes just by putting one foot in front of the other day after day. There is hope for healing, hope for forgiveness, hope for an easing of the pain Nichole's family feels, hope that some young person sitting in front of a computer will not make a costly decision.
So heartbreaking. I just kept hoping she would come home.
ReplyDeleteThoughts and prayers with the family, and hugging my own tighter.
I guess I knew this was coming but I was hoping for the best. This is so sad. Her poor mom, I can't imagine her pain right now.
ReplyDeleteVery sad news. The first 48 is crucial. Regardless, I was hoping for a happier ending.
ReplyDeleteThoughts and prayers for Nichole's family.
