Baby Levon Wameling Found Dead

Statement Analysis indicated the father for deception.

Baby remains found in upstate New York identified as those of 9-month-old Levon Wameling: cops

The grim findings were determined with DNA tests. Wameling had been missing since May, when his father Jevon Wameling, 27, says he left the baby unattended for a few minutes while he crawled through a window to get inside his home after locking himself out.

Baby Levon’s mother, Amy Warney, was at a drug rehab center when Levon disappeared.

DNA testing identified the baby boy who was found dead earlier this month in an upstate New York river as an infant who went missing in May at just nine months old.
The Utica Police Department released a statement Saturday saying the remains are those of Levon Wameling.
Father Jevon Wameling says the baby disappeared after he left him unattended briefly.

"The Utica Police continue to investigate this case, with the hope that the truth will be learned and the person(s) responsible are held accountable," the statement reads.
The child's father, Jevon Wameling, 27, says that his boy vanished May 19 after he left him unattended on the front deck of his apartment in Utica so he could crawl through a window after locking himself outside, CNN reported.

This Facebook photo reportedly shows Jevon playing with baby Levon.

He claims that by the time he opened the front door, the child was gone. But Wameling attracted suspicion because he waited until June 11 to report his son's disappearance.
"We have a problem with what he says," Utica Police Chief Mark Williams said at the time. "Here's a guy that waited two weeks to come forward. He doesn't bring it forward to the police, but brings it forward to his parents. Instead he goes to an attorney's office. I think actions speak louder than words."

Wameling told local NBC-affiliate WKTV that he waited two weeks to alert authorities because he wanted to find Levon before telling the boy's mother, Amy Warney, who was in drug rehab at the time.
After hearing of the disappearance in June, a tearful Warney pleaded for help finding her boy from the public at a news conference, reported The Utica Observer-Dispatch.
Levon Wameling was missing since May before the grim discovery of his remains.

"Just please call the Utica police so I can put him to rest. Just please don't be scared if you know anything. Just please contact somebody," she cried.
Levon was found in a container in the Mohawk River on September 6, CNN reported.
The cause of death has not been determined and the incident is still under investigation, authorities said.
The police department took to Facebook to reassure Levon's family and concerned civilians that they are working actively to get to the bottom of this case.
"On Behalf of Chief Mark Williams and all the members of the Utica Police Department we offer our sincere condolences to the family members of baby Levon Wameling. Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy and sorrow. We are working diligently to bring you justice."

I wonder if the Dad sold the baby for drugs. Whoever tipped off the cops as to where the baby's remains are has to be the perp.
The father's statement to cops stating he was locked out and had to climb in window--I believe these words tell us something and I would say they indicate the father likes to rob houses--he 1st tries the door, then the window. This "admission" is attached to his statement that the baby has gone missing. In his mind, robbing houses probably for drug money (crack cocaine most likely) is closely linked to the disappearance of the baby. Did he sell the baby for drug money?

The baby was found after the dad was arrested for other crimes.

Yeah, but if the father had been the one to guide LE to the baby's remains obviously they would be charging him with murder and not just saying his story seems off.
When I first read this Dad's story: baby disappeared from front deck after Dad goes around the house to get into the house through a window after he had locked himself out, I thought hmmm there's something odd about this excuse. Why wouldnt he just say " baby was on front deck and he went into the house to answer the phone" etc. There's something there in the BS story itself that holds a clue.

Casey Anthony casts a long shadow. She got away with not reporting her child missing until she had no choice. It appears Jevon Warmeling thought he could do the same. I am staggered by the number of children who have gone missing and not been found or so much time had passed that cause of death could not be determined since the Anthony case. I wonder how the members of that jury can sleep at night.

Another father of a missing baby that lawyers up after claiming "abduction" with a history of drug abuse.

LE knows that this father is deceptive but I doubt that this baby killer will face prosecution unless he confesses to someone accidentally killing his baby like Swamp mom did.

The reason I think the Sikh thing is a hoax is because 1. the victim wrote about hate crimes against Sikhs and 2. he refused to look at photo line-ups or meet with a sketch artist, claiming that catching the perps did not matter. All that mattered was that this horrible hate crime happened at all.

Amanda Knox today claimed she has been 'hunted' over the murder of British student Meredith Kercher as she defended her decision not to return to Italy to face retrial for the killing in her first live interview on British television.

The 26-year-old American said she was trying to rebuild her life after the 'ultimate nightmare' of being wrongfully convicted and imprisoned over the killing of Leeds University student Ms Kercher in November 2007.

Ms Knox said she is now trying to fight back against her accusers because she wasn't given the chance before and said she will take a lie detector test to prove her innocence.
'I've been hunted. I'm being hunted down,' she told ITV’s Daybreak, adding: 'I'm trying to fight back now that I have the opportunity.'

Asked if she would be willing to take a lie detector test, Ms Knox said: 'I would do anything to prove my innocence. I don’t think that is necessary, but like I said, I am doing everything I can to prove my innocence.

'I am not afraid of anything. I have been put through a tremendous gauntlet.'

Ms Knox has denied any involvement in the killing of Ms Kercher, who was found with her throat slashed in the bedroom of the house they shared in Perugia, central Italy.

She was convicted along with her Italian former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito following a high-profile trial, but the pair were later cleared in 2011 after an appeal court found the prosecution lacking and criticised large swathes of the case against them.
Italy’s supreme court has ordered a new trial but Miss Knox, who now lives in Seattle, has said she will not attend.

She said: 'I have plenty to fear because I was already imprisoned wrongfully, I was already convicted wrongfully and this is everything to fear, this, as an innocent person, is the ultimate nightmare, this does not make sense.'

Ms Knox added that she is unable to afford to travel to Italy and remain in the country for the duration of a retrial.

Mr Sollecito, 29, has denied any involvement in the killing and has appealed for money to fund his new court battle.

He is due to face a retrial next Monday.

Explaining her reasons for not returning to Italy for the retrial, Miss Knox said: 'There are many reasons why I have made the decision.
'One of the major reasons is because I have done this, I have given testimony ... I can’t financially afford to be going back and forth to Italy.

'I am in school, I am trying to rebuild my life. Then there is the very real fact that I was imprisoned wrongfully and I cannot reconcile that experience with the choice of going back. It doesn’t make sense.

Tania Cadogan said...

'This isn’t a complicated case. It has been resolved and for people to hold on to circumstantial things that have been proven wrong... At the very beginning, I never had a chance to defend myself. Over the course of the trial, it was shown that I wasn’t the monster that was being made of me.'

She added: 'There is proof of my innocence in there being no trace of me in the room where my friend was murdered.

'There was no reason for me to have done this, there is nothing that is a part of me that would ever do something like this.

'It is so scary to have go to through this again, I did not expect this to happen.

'And now I am not sure what to expect because I have two different experiences - I was wrongfully convicted and rightly acquitted for being innocent and now I have to hope that the next court is able to look at this without prejudice and realise that there is proof of my innocence here.

'This isn’t a case about a character, this isn’t a case about a femme fatale, this is a case about my friend who was brutally murdered as she just happened to be home that night.'

Ms Knox said she would like Ms Kercher's family to take her to visit her grave and believes that they can help one another with the grieving.

'The greatest closure is for them to be willing to take me to her grave. I never had a chance to see them before I was already called the murderer,' she said.
Ms Knox said she understood why Ms Kercher's family might believe she was involved in her death but insisted the prosecution was wrong and asked them to consider her innocence.

'I can understand where they're coming from. I know that they think that I had some sort of involvement with Meredith's death.

'I would hope that they would eventually take into consideration even the possibility of my innocence. They need to understand that the prosecution is simply wrong and that their lawyers are wrong.

'I also want them to understand that Meredith really was my friend. She was very kind to me and I had nothing to do with her murder. And I am truly innocent. And I truly believe that the only way that any of us are going to be able to heal from all of this is if we come together and acknowledge the pain that we have all gone through.'

Ms Knox denied she had tried to cash in on Ms Kercher's death by writing her book, Waiting To Be Heard, which was published in the United States earlier this year, and said all the proceeds had gone on paying back her parents and lawyers.

'I am not sitting on a yacht somewhere - that's not the case,' she said.

If SA is going to be followed, shouldn't Ms. Knox using the term "my innocence" count as much as OJ and others saying "my guilt"? Just curious, because as much as I respect statement analysis, I don't respect how it is used selectively on here.

Maggie said...

And maybe I don't understand, but innocent or not, if she has the option not to return to Italy why would she go back? If she was wrongly imprisoned, why would she return?

Tania Cadogan said...

Asked if she would be willing to take a lie detector test, Ms Knox said: 'I would do anything to prove my innocence. I don’t think that is necessary, but like I said, I am doing everything I can to prove my innocence.

Would is future conditional.
She tells us she would do anything to prove my innocence which , i presume, could include a polygraph.
Passing a poly, even though it is not admissable in court would given backing and support to her claim.
She weakens her claim to be willing to do anything by saying I don’t think that is necessary,
She thinks it unnecessary leaving it open for others to think otherwise.
This is close, that is distancing, she distances herself from taking a poly.
She then references herself by saying I am doing everything I can to prove my innocence.
Clearly she isn't doing everything she can to prove her innocence if she won't take a poly which if she passed could indicate she is in fact innocent of the murder of Meredith.

I am doing everything I can to prove my innocence.
Are there limitations to what she can do to prove her innocence?
She tells us there is by the inclusion of the words i can.
What is there to stop her doing everything to prove her innocence?
Guilty knowledge perhaps?

Note also she uses the word BUTI don’t think that is necessary, but like I said.

But is used to negate what was said previously, here she tells us a polygraph is necessary and that she isn't doing everything to prove innocence.

It is also worth noting that she has ample opportunity to make a strong reliable denial. first person singular, past tense, event specific. she doesn't.
She cannot bring herself to say i did not kill/murder meredith and if she can't say it, we can't say it for her.

in her statements she also refers to herself as an innocent person ( concealing gender/identity perhaps?
there is the good knox and the bad knox?

She added: 'There is proof of my innocence in there being no trace of me in the room where my friend was murdered.
'There was no reason for me to have done this, there is nothing that is a part of me that would ever do something like this.

This is close, that is distancing, why does she use the word THIS in relation to the murder?
she repeats it making it sensitive.
There cannot be a nothing that is part of you, there has to be a something.
What is the nothing that is inside her that would do something like this?
What would this nothing do if it is not something like murder?
What is something like murder but not murder?
Torture perhaps?

she refers to herself as the murder and not a murderer which is unexpected given 3 people were tried for murder.

'I would hope that they would eventually take into consideration even the possibility of my innocence
This is unexpected.
If she were innocent then there is no possibility of innocence, it is a fact not open to question.
She would't allow her innocence to be just a possibility, She is innocent full stop, it is unquestionable)
By saying the possibility of her innocence, she allows for the possibility of her guilt.

OT (Ayla Reynolds): Phoebe DiPietro's press release

http://media.pressherald.com/documents/AylaSeptember2013.pdf

September 2013
Dear Members of the Media and Public -- For 21 months my family has been heartbroken waiting for
word on Ayla. Praying daily and hoping every time the phone rings that the authorities have found Ayla.
Blog world, the newspapers and even the evening news have a way of distorting the truth.
You have heard and read over and over again that Law Enforcement believe the 3 adults know more than
what they are saying. Let me ask you this, if they so strongly believe that, why are they not asking the
questions? Why are they not scheduling meetings with my family or with my attorney?
Trista can say and do what she wants. To the best of my knowledge LE has not confirmed her allegations
nor stated that she has been cleared as a suspect herself. I believe that the Focus should remain on
finding Ayla. Once Ayla is found then and only then will I think about justice. Justice is served only when
all facts and evidence are known and presented in a court of law.
For my family – the last thing left in Pandora ’s Box is hope. We choose to hold on to hope that Ayla will
be found and brought home. If 3 adult women were held captive for over a decade and finally rescued
then please believe there is hope Ayla will be found alive. So we ask and plead that the public continues
to look for Ayla. Her eyes are beautiful and distinctive which will be a good focal point in looking for her.
We continue to pray that a Good Samaritan will come forward with the information LE needs to bring Ayla
home. Ayla, my granddaughter is out there alive so please do not give up looking for her. If you know
anything please come forward.
Phoebe DiPietro

If I'm not mistaken, didn't the police clear trista because she had an alibi? She wasn't even near waterville on the night ayla disappeared.
Funny how Phoebe doesn't want any justice until after aylas poor little body is found. Especially since that is what the waterville police are waiting for to make their case against the human waste pheobe calls her son.
Yes I've read the (I guess you'd call it) pre-release of what trista will bring forward in the way of evidence today. Blood on aylas princess slippers...blood on aylas babydoll... blood on Justin's shoes and bed... aylas blood.
Aylas blood cries out for vengeance pheobe.

Maggie said...

I have always believed Phoebe was involved in Ayla's disappearance. Her letter above confirms this.
Why?
1). Trying to blame Trista for Ayla's disappearance.
2). Her emphasis again on Ayla's eyes, praising them and calling them a "good focal point".
As I had pointed out when I analyzed Kaine Horman's statement, look CLOSELY at the language: The term "good focal point" is often used to describe aiming a weapon at a target.
Ayla was targeted. Phoebe was very involved is my belief.

Btw baby levon looks nothing like the man people are calling his father. That baby was white. And how did the mother know the baby needed to be laid to rest more than a month before he was discovered dead?

Anonymous said...

Look at how sad and hopeless Baby Levon looked. Not smiling in any picture. Almost devoid of life in his eyes. Sad sad sad.

I don't come here as frequently anymore because the (lack of) organization of the off topic comments drives me batty. The comments themselves are good, and there is enough interest that the blog owners could set up a forum for readers to comment about specific cases. Just a suggestion.

Mainah said...

OT (Ayla Reynolds) Actually, Phoebe does not say she wants justice for Ayla, only that after she is found is when she will "think" about justice for Ayla. There is a plethora of SA nuggets in her words.

And, elf, no LE does not usually clear anyone, nor declare someone a suspect or person of interest (which is actually a borrowed media term) while a case is still open. I only have guesses as to why. Although, they have said Trista is cooperating, etc.,

My heart breaks for all these babies unloved by (some of)their families.

S + K Mum said...

Dear Pheobe DiPietro

Why do LE have to come to you? It is your granddaughter, why don't you go to them and offer more information, any information that might help to bring Ayla home? Why would LE have to 'schedule' a meeting with you? Are you too busy to be bothered helping find your granddaughter? Would you not drop everything at a moments notice to help? You sound like you are challenging LE rather than helping them.

Why do you have an attorney?

Ayla has been missing for 21 months, how many times have you released statements, appealing for information? (I genuinely don't know - so please tell me - this is the first one I have read since I saw you on TV 21 months ago and you weren't very truthful were you?).
I suppose though, if Trista is going to release information to the press, then you are entitled to aswell? Is that was this is? Tit for tat playground nonsense? 'Trista can do what she wants' - and you can't? What can't you do? Please elaborate.

Rather than hoping that Ayla is 'found' maybe you should be hoping that she comes home safe and well.

You obviously know what is written about you on blogs since 'blog world' was the first to be addressed in your statement.

Are you proud of your son or just scared of him Pheobe? I know he 'smoked' his polygraph, what about you?

Hi Anon 8:23

You should go toward the top of these comments and read the charging docs for Wameling attached to the article posted by Jazzie.

About 7 pages in the mother of Levon (Amy Warney) gives info to police about a heirloom diamond necklace (and another cross necklace, both stolen from his step-aunt) that Jevon Wameling, her BOYFRIEND gifted to her in August. Months AFTER he 'lost' her baby. So despite the fact that he supposedly 'lost' her baby, she continued to see him. She also alleges that he is addicted to heroin, pain pills and coke and that she didn't believe he bought the jewelry (that she accepted) because he had been know to steal before.

Poor Levon never had a chance with 'parents' like these two.

Jen said...

Here is a excerpt from the article:

Jevon Wameling is described as broke, unpredictable, addicted to drugs and threatened by drug dealers in nine pages of statements from him and relatives. At one point, he spent time in a mental hospital. Following his arrest, Wameling was sent to the Oneida County jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.

Baby Levon's mother, Amy Warney, describes her boyfriend showing up at her house in August wearing thick silver chains around his neck and two new rings. He showed her a tear-drop necklace with six diamonds, but later took it back."I do not believe Jevon bought the jewelry," Warney told troopers. "I have known Jevon to steal things in the past. Jevon is addicted to heroin, cocaine and hydro's (hydrocodone) and addicts will do anything for money or to get high.

(In the charging docs Warney admits that she had the heirloom necklace and another necklace for a period of time, then Wameling took the heirloom necklace back, telling her he would give it back to her 'when he felt like it'. She also says that she believed they were stolen.)

"Wameling told troopers he had been threatened by drug dealers over the stolen jewelry, though he did not explicitly admit to taking it. "I know who had the stuff, a guy named 'Justice,' " Wameling said in his statement. "Justice and a few other drug dealers threatened my life." He later repeated he was afraid and "wanted to stay away from the necklace." The necklace and other jewelry were recovered during an investigation and raid at the home of one of Wameling's friends.
(In the docs Wameling offers help in recovering the necklace, but refuses to answer whether he stole the items until he speaks to an attorney. Wameling states that his step-father 'already re-paid the money' he is accused of taking, and that he knows a guy named 'Justice' who has the necklace. He also says that drug dealers threatened him. I have a feeling he is setting up his story for what happened to Levon...as in, 'drug dealers' took him).

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Jen. I agree the little guy didn't have a chance. It seems that the possibility of your significant other murdering your child isn't enough of a reason to end the relationship anymore. I wonder what he REALLY did to piss her off? Did he forget to take the garbage out one to many times? Did he get busted sexing another girl? I believe he will be using "the drug dealers did it" defense. Unbelievable!
