Leeanne Bearden Family Statement

Please note that this is a statement posted by the family.
The police have stated that the husband is cooperating and is not a suspect.
Note also that they have a private investigator already in their employ.

This blog continues to post information in order to assist keeping Leeanne's face and story in the public mindset.

"As you know, Leanne Bearden was last seen leaving her in-law’s house in Garden Ridge, Texas on the afternoon of January 17, 2014 for what she had said was to be a one-hour walk. She has not been seen or heard from by her family since. We initially believed that she was somewhere in the local area. However, after much searching, culminating on January 25 with an extensive air and land search of a 23 square mile area including Garden Ridge and the immediate surrounding area, no evidence has been found of her presence.

The Garden Ridge Police, Comal County Sheriff’s office, the Texas Rangers, and other agencies as well as a private investigator have conducted an extensive investigation including talking with many of Leanne’s family members and friends as well as many other people living in this area. They also examined Leanne’s computer and telephone, including emails, text messages, and phone records and contacts. The pressure of transitioning from her two year trip back into what we consider “normal” life seems to have left her very anxious and stressed. As a result of this investigation there is evidence that Leanne may have voluntarily left the area, and we understand this is a strong possibility.

If Leanne has indeed fled this area, she is extremely vulnerable. She left with only a few assets and is traveling very light. Although she is athletic, she is small in stature. Her mental and physical status is uncertain. We fear for her greatly. We urge anyone who might have any information about Leanne to contact the Garden Ridge Police department at 210-651-6441 or Private Investigator Charles Parker at 210-826-4052.

Please remember Leanne, the Bearden and Hecht families, and all of Leanne’s friends in your thoughts and prayers."

Garden Ridge is a suburb of San Antonio very close to I-35. San Antonio is a hot spot for domestic human trafficking either by coercion or force. Some families have even been prosecuted for selling their children to the traffickers. If Leeanne Bearden was walking in that area, it would be easy to kidnap her (especially if her mind was in a depressed or fugue state) and head north. My guess is that the police would rather not let it be known what a problem trafficking is in their city.

^^^^^Don't fault the family in their attempts to find Leanne!

~~~~~
The family of a Colorado woman who went missing from a Garden Ridge home Jan. 17 has hired a private investigator to supplement police efforts to find her.
“He's going to start taking a closer look, and perhaps look into different areas,” Will Bearden, the missing woman's father-in-law, said Monday of investigator
Charlie Parker.
Will Bearden said a thorough search by authorities Saturday around his neighborhood has convinced the family that his daughter-in-law is not there.
I forgot to mention, the more PI's involved the better.
This is one vague post!!! I don't believe it. Since when does stress in adjusting to getting back from a long trip cause a person to wander away without a jacket or phone and never use their credit cards?? I would wager NEVER. one does not lead to the other, it makes no sense. stress could cause fights, divorce, crying, ultimatums -- all those sorts of things that could lead to domestic fights that could lead tomurder. but stress alone doesnt lead to mystically vanishing with zero resources for survival. this statement remonds me of how casey anthony used to talk about caley -- oh she's probably off having fun somewhere --- these are some places she likes togo. but she was 3. it made zero sense. this similarly makes zero sense -- she was stressed so she way have vanished off face of earth without resources. but wanted to. this is a sham.
who ever heard of being satisfied that a missing person is not in a large area full of various natural terrain - after a couple weeks of searches. all the time bodies get found months later in woods by hunters or whatever. that this post says the family is satisfied she's not in the area --- nobody innocent ever says that. nobody logical ever says that.
didn't josh just say he was "never ever gonna stop looking" ? and now he's done looking??
Thank you anon for the scrolling tips, but I'm a regular here. :) I read a few earlier write ups about the Bearden case before the Monday 27th post, but didn't get to finish because of my work schedule. Those articles are now unavailable to read. My Internet browser history database on my PC confirms this. :(
I second the above ^ it's a nice try on attempting to deflect off of the guilty party, and use as a form of escapism, but looks futile and moronic. Yasmin*
Whether stressed or not; none of your posts allow for the possibility that she might have actually taken a walk intending to return within the hour and could have been accosted by a sexual predator.
One doesn't necessarily stop to think that they might need every quick reach emergency personal item they own with them if they are planning on merely taking a walk and returning. But I guess that thought never occurred to any of you?
No actually it did occur to me, thank you very much. I also watched every video they had on youtube. Leanne was a gregarious person, vivacious with a spunky, outgoing disposition to her. She was never in a bad mood and was clearly happy and content on her adventures. She saw beauty in things most would have overlooked. She was always seeing the good in things. Josh came across as far from excited and unenthused about his surroundings. He did not appear to be soaking up the cultures and sites around the world. He often complained about various things, be it his foot hurt, tired or lack of excitement with the food he was consuming. It would make sense from what I've seen, that Josh is the one who is unhappy about being back to the daily grind, he is the one not eager to start work, or even attempt to look for a job. These are the very things he is placing blame on Leanne. It's not like her character to go for a walk, and disappear off the grid completely. It's also unlikely that she was harmed by a stranger. It makes sense that Josh plays a KEY role in her disappearance and knows where she is. No one can prove that Leanne went missing the day Josh claims. No one has stepped forward as the tree trimmer, to which gives us further reason to have serious doubts as to what is really going on. Who is to say that Leanne didn't suffer harm after they left her parents in GA. We have no one to collaborate Josh's timeline of events other than Josh. More information that has come out leads to Josh as being guilty than not. So you see,. I've taken great lengths to be open and fair to this case. No one wants to think that her husband committed an act of violence and or death. However it's the most realistic at this point. Yasmin*
Only one person witnessed her leaving the house? Nobody else at all? Is this 'tree cutter' an honest fella, and not saying something because he has been made any financial promises etc?
It seems strange to me that nobody else has come forward in the neighbourhood, having seen her that day
Dear Leanne-
We, your family and friends, want you to know that we love you very much. We know that you must be struggling right now and we are just really worried about you. We want you to know that in NO WAY are you in any kind of trouble with anyone and none of us are upset or angry with you about any of this. We love you so much and just want to know if you are ok. We so hope you will reach out to SOMEONE, ANYONE and let them know. We don't need to know where you are if that's not what you want, but we would just really like to hear from you.
We love you Le and are so worried. None of us have stopped thinking about you for even a second since you've been gone.
(Family, Friends and Strangers - please share in the hopes that she will see it!)
It is never the crime, it is ALWAYS the coverup.
Her family consists of her blood relatives. His family is considered her in-laws. Let's be clear about who said what. If there's a rift between a couple ; his family takes his side & shields his faults. Her family would look for her tirelessly and never suggest that she just left. This would cause law enforcement to stop looking for her. I am curious: how long was she dead? How did they miss her just feet away? Who is the guy who found her?
Odd case for a vibrant, young athletic woman to suddenly hang herself in the woods. Have to wonder if her backpack was found with her body.
That close to the border, I agree with skeptical, human trafficking could possibly play a role in many, if not most, crimes.
Often the traffickers are used to snitch on other traffickers in order to keep the military safe.These traffickers use women and children as they are least important members of society and do little to promote gun sales.
Her family doesn't think she'd leave without a word or a goodbye. Many have been hung b y traffickers-even children hung from closet rods-in order to terrify the population.
