Woman Claims Attacked, Tied Up, While Child Killed

from NY Daily News.  Regarding the profiling that was popular in the 80's:  we are seeing more and more violent crimes committed by first time offenders, or even nominal criminals.  In the "photobomb" killing in California, the killer never had a single arrest and "graduated" all the way to killing.

We are not seeing that pattern in play...

Texas woman killed fiancé’s toddler, lied about attack: cops

Melinda Lynn Muniz, 25, initially told cops an intruder attacked her and killed 2-year-old Grace Lillian Ford after the woman was found tied up inside the Plano home on Jan. 9, according to reports. But cops allegedly found surveillance video showing the woman took the toddler to a dollar store, where she bought the supplies needed to commit the murder and cover up the crime.

A Texas woman was arrested for killing her fiancé’s 2-year-old daughter after cops found a surveillance video showing her buy the supplies needed to commit the sickening murder — during a shopping trip with her tiny victim.
Melinda Lynn Muniz, 25, initially told police that an intruder attacked her and little Grace Lillian Ford after the woman was found tied up with her pants down inside her fiancé’s Plano home on Jan. 12, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Grace, her mouth covered in duct tape, was lying unconscious in her crib. She was rushed to a hospital, but could not be saved.
An autopsy determined that 2-year-old Grace Lillian Ford died from being suffocated. Her father’s fiancée, Melinda Lynn Muniz, was later arrested for the murder.

An autopsy determined that 2-year-old Grace Lillian Ford died from being suffocated. Her father’s fiancée, Melinda Lynn Muniz, was later arrested for the murder.

The child’s death was ruled a homicide days later, after a medical examiner determined she was suffocated.
Muniz told investigators that the suspect — who she described as having dark hair, black gloves and black boots — sexually assaulted her during the attack, but the evidence didn’t support her claim, KTVT reported.
After speaking to Grace’s father, Mitch Ford, police learned the couple — who were engaged in December — had a fight that morning and that Muniz was told to move out of the home in the Eastside Villages Apartment complex, KDFW-TV reported.

Police retraced Muniz’s steps before the alleged attack and found that she took the little girl to a nearby dollar store, where the woman was captured on a security camera buying several disturbing items: duct tape, zip ties, kitchen shears and cotton swabs.
“She took the child with her to purchase the items that she was going to use during the commission of the crime,” Plano police spokesman David Tilley told WFAA-TV. “Clearly premeditated.”

Once cops had enough evidence to prove Muniz staged the crime scene, they made the collar.
Muniz was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail after she was charged with the murder on Tuesday.

I fear for the world. Where do these monsters come from?

So they have a fight and he orders her out of his home yet he leaves his precious daughter in her care? I doubt he knew she'd kill her but seriously, how could you let her babysit after that? I read elsewhere that Grace's maternal grandparents filed a report with children services claiming signs of physical abuse on Grace, which they noticed had started after her dad began dating this woman. I just think that if you have children and you are going to bring someone into your home like a girlfriend, you better know that person well and trust them first. Maybe he did but it's hard to believe she wasn't a little off before this. Very sad. The children always end up the sufferers.

This wacko looks a little like Casey Anthony, physically. After reading about the duct tape on the poor baby's mouth, she acts like her, too. Too many sickos in this world.

Horrible. Poor little girl. She was so beautiful. Scary what people are capable of. What kind of a monster one has to be to plan the murder of a 2 year old? Horrible.

Wow-I thought that picture WAS Casey Anthony!

They have the same close-set, vacant eyes, the prominent ears, the hair! AND, she murdered a two year old little girl with duct tape, while claiming herself a victim! (This woman of rape, CA of a kidnapping nanny).

How incredibly sad. I can't imagine being the mother of this precious litle girl. Her baby is gone, murdered as part of some twisted revenge, or sympathy ploy! What has happened to the world, that something like this is even a possibility?

knox and sollecito found guilty of murder Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Sounds like they have a chitload of financial penalties and costs as well.
They will get sollecito and slam him in jail since he is in the and could try and flee especially since he isn't in court. he is allegedly in florence will he run or not?

knox will fight extradition no doubt claiming double jeopardy except it isn't . they are not retrying hr for the same crime, this is part three of the legal system and both can still appeal to the suprreme court who will validate or not the verdict.

What i wonder now is, since she is now a convicted murder will the book company demand their money back since it is based on a lie?

if so then the knox's are screwed since they will have tp pay back the book money and advance, they will also be liable for all the fines and legal costs and, since knox pretty much bankrupted her family when they bought high priced lawyers and PR to defend her.

if she paid her family back then how will they repay money back to the book company, who will pay the legal fees and fines and will her family now go bankrupt?

Will they try and do a deal and have her serve her time in the States or will Italy seek to extradite her?

Will the States risk everything to defend a convicted murderer?

Will an extradition treaty be created?

As it now stands knox can never leave the states since if she flies to any country with an extradtion treat with Italy will arrest and extradite her.

Knox is guilty. 28 years six months for her. Sollecito 25 years. He has to hand in passport.

there is a chitload of fines and finacial penalties amounting to ten's of thousands of euros.

there will be another appeal to the Italian supreme court most likely

OT:
Casey Parsons told WBTV, "Sandy and I have been completely truthful in everything we know about this case. Rowan County has said from the start we are lying but we aren't. Sadly the increase in the reward is probably to make the Rowan County Sheriff's office look good. We feel they stopped looking for Erica on the second day. Hopefully they are still looking for her but I doubt it. We are and will never give up!!"

This is a recent statement made by Casey Parsons, adopted parent of missing teen Erica Parsons.
Peter, could you possibly look at this article and analyze Casey's statement?

OT: Leakage from Knox's lawyer? "It is not possible to convict a person because it is probable that she is guilty," Dalla Vedova said. "The penal code does not foresee probability. It foresees certainty."

knox statement in full

First and foremost it must be recognised that there is no consolation for the Kercher family.

Their grief over Meredith's terrible murder will follow them forever. They deserve respect and support.

I am frightened and saddened by this unjust verdict. Having been found innocent before, I expected better from the Italian justice system.

The evidence and accusatory theory do not justify a verdict of guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. rather, nothing has changed.

There has always been a marked lack of evidence. My family and I have suffered greatly from this wrongful persecution.

This has gotten out of hand. Most troubling is that it was entirely preventable.

I beseech those with the knowledge and authority to address and remediate the problems that worked to pervert the course of justice and waste the valuable resources of the system: overzealous and intransigent prosecution, prejudiced and narrow-minded investigation, unwillingness to admit mistake, reliance on unreliable testimony and evidence, character assassination, inconsistent and unfounded accusatory theory, and counterproductive and coercive interrogation techniques that produce false confessions and inaccurate statements.

Clearly a wrongful conviction is horrific for the wrongfully accused, but it is also terribly bad for the victim, their surviving family, and society

Hobs,

Knox speaks so strangly, and abstract. She doesn't even label HERSELF as someone who is wrongfully accused! She STILL can't muster the ability to plainly say....I DID NOT KILL MERIDITH.

Instead she babbles about "reliance on unreliable testimony and evidence", and how "the evidence and accusatory theory do not justify a verdict of guilty beyond a reasonable doubt".

Her entire statement is weak! She relies on $100 dollar words, and the concept of reasonable doubt to disguise her statement s lack substance.

Her buddy Ryan Ferguson was on JVM, (surprise, surprise JVM thinks she is innocent) and he threw out the challenge that, "they would have to go through me".. to extradite her

Considering his past experience, he would be smart to take his, 'get out of jail free pass' and go hide under a rock, rather than issuing challenges to the legal system!?

The father chose shanky gf over the safety of his baby. CPS had checked on stories of physical abuse on Gracie. If I was the mother of Grace, shanky Munoz would not having been walking after the bruises, way before the duct tape. Dad visited "fiancée in jail, even after LE told him not to.

A premeditated murder of an innocent child to make someone "pay" for a perceived infraction. Only a monster would consider that to be a viable option for a hurt ego.

Is this becoming a trend in America because Casey Anthony, Justin Dipietro, and others have proven that it can be done without consequences?

I wonder if the defense counsel will claim that childhood sexual abuse was the cause of her behavior and that she is the "real" victim in this case? (Excuse me while go throw up again).
