Kyron Horman New Flyer

As June approaches, I often think of Kyron, and of course, his step mother, Terri, of whom deception was indicated with regard to his disappearance, leaving his mother, Desiree Young, bereft of all comfort and closure.

In the very least, Terri could have mercy upon the family and anonymously communicate where Kyron's remains can be recovered.

Terri Horman failed her polygraph.

PORTLAND -- A sign posted outside of Terri Horman's home in Roseburg is raising questions.  The flier suggests an "unknown man" may be connected to her stepson's disappearance.
The flier title, "Find Kyron First" includes an age progression photo of Kyron Horman and the missing boy's description.
It also includes the following statement: "Kyron Horman was last seen at a public invited Science Fair at Skyline School in Portland OR by witnesses who saw him with an unknown man."
Investigators believe Terri Horman was the last one to see her stepson before he disappeared from Skyline School on June 4, 2010. She has not been charged in the case.
Terri Horman was not available for comment. It's not clear who created the flier.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office declined to comment on the new flier.
A spokesman said the public should rely on official law enforcement bulletins from the FBI or local police for information about the case.

The "unknown man" has been something Terri has floated from the start. However, something that has long been rumored is that Terri had an adult (possibly male) in the truck at the science fair that morning.

As is with most of these cases, there are many details and truth that have not been released to the public.

Kyron is no more important than any of the other precious missing children, but he touches my heart so very much because he is a local case for me. ;(

This reminds me of Susan Smith's attempt to pin the disappearance of her boys on a black stranger.

There is no such thing as an "unknown man". Unknown by whom? I'm sure he is "known" to somebody.

Kel said...

I read here a lot and have for years. I rarely comment but I have to say, evidence appears to point to an unknown suspect, not Terri. While she failed her polly, I think law enforcemnt focused on her and never let off, meanwhile leaving other leads abandoned. I'm not convinced Terri is ultimately responsible but she may have had a part in causing this to happen, unintentionally. We need to be careful of who we allow in our lives and the lives of our children.

Isn't there some unnecessary words included in this statement?

The sentence would work well with "Kyron Horman was last seen at a Science Fair at Skyline School in Portland OR...

Why add the public invited? Is she trying to deflect blame that because the public was invited she couldn't possible be responsible. She is trying desperately to cast doubt elsewhere.

That is different wording than they have on the official fliers I think. Terry made that flier in front of her house on her own computer or something I bet. And wasn't she a chronic facebooker? I bet she saw the attention dying down, Terry likes attention (that's why kyron is gone isn't it?) and she's like any lying thief- she's gotta remind everyone that she hasn't been caught and at the same time cast false leads.

I follow the Calling Mark Redwine page on Facebook and the only things I've seen there is that Mark Redwine recently sued Dylan's mother for $70 and this week, she is filing a wrongful death suit against MR. There has also been info on that page on search warrants and what was removed from MR's house.

I believe Terri must be responsible but it still doesnt make sense to me why she would bring him to his school to kidnap him from there. It is an extremely heartbreaking case.

It is a fact that a teacher, Ester Matthews gave a man permission for him to get Kyron to help him get something from his truck. Thia will come out. Terri was not the last person to be seen with Kyron. No I am not from Portland, I am from Texas & have followed this story from day one. I have been on both sides of the fence but lately I am giving Terri the benefit of the doubt & leaving an open mind util they let more information out which I doubt they will. I think LE botched this case from day one by not making the school a crime scene. To me the fault is with the school.

To any of the commenters who think an unknown man caused Kyron to disappear...then why won't Terry (and DeeDee for that matter) account for their time that morning?? Frankly, if there was someone else involved it would not surprise me, but I'm doubtful it would clear Terry or it would have been done a long time ago.

OT: I am still hoping the 3 Skelton brothers, Joshua Davis, Ayla Reynolds, Lisa Irwin, Aliyah Lundsford, Isabel Celis, Marble Ardvington, Brittany Drexel, and Chloe and Gage Daniels are found soon too.

I am just curious Harley from Texas, if that is factual? That sounds like a very important detail to the last time Kyron was seen. Wouldn't LE want the public to know this LARGE of a fact in the case? I am from Oregon and this case is heartbreaking, I cant imagine what Kyrons mother goes through daily.

Kaine Horman hopes people will ignore the fliers. Kyron's face is on the fliers irregardless of the verbage of the man. Which is not new news, for followers. His face to be ignored? HE is Missing, does it really matter what it says, as long as it is circulated, My name is Kyron Horman Have you SEEN ME? call " the Lost" center for missing children number printed on the bottom. Did Kaine follow up with this Org to find out if they knew who created the fliers? or no, path to least resistance is to shoot the unknown messenger.

Terri and Dee Dee have accounted for their whereabouts.

I'm not a Terri advocate but Law Enforcement has targeted her from day one and left all other leads out to dry. They messed up and refuse to admit it.

Until they admit it and investigate other leads/possibilities, they do a great disservice to Kyron and his parents.

Hi Charlotte,

Going by the report from Sky web page. It seems to me that his mother was with him when they found her. He called out to her to call 999. He didn't phone her first because she was with him.

The musician had arrived at their home in Wrotham, Kent, with his mother, and thought Peaches was asleep.

He found their 11-month-old son Phaedra, who Peaches had been looking after, and called to his mother to ring emergency services.

She has lied and her statements have shown deception. If she was innocent, don't you think she would go to the end of the earth to get her daughter back or at least get visitations? She hasn't and that speaks volume.

Kel said...

I think there's more at play here than just Kyron's abduction. I didn't say she wasn't involved in some way, clearly there's been some deception on her part. There's been a whole scandle over steroid use and so on. Terri lawyered up early on. The divorce has taken several years but I think she's now seeking visitation/parenting that she could not while the divorce took it's course. She'd have to testify in some manner and there's some reason she wishes not to, be it her possible involvement or association or other reasons/secrets to not divulge. She is doing what her lawyer tells her. Grant it, it's a shame a mother has been away from her young child for so long but since she doesn't speak publically, we don't really know her reasons.
She shouldn't been law enforcements only focus, that's all I'm saying. There was all sorts of public at that science fair, other leads.

Terri Horman is basically in the same situation as an abusive parent whose child has died and their other children are removed by the CPS. They don't get those other children back unless they can convince the dependency court that they will be a fit parent.

Terri Horman has chosen to assert her constitutional right against self-incrimination, which she is perfectly entitled to do, rather than allow a full and complete investigation into what exactly she was doing the day that her stepson was last seen alive. Her husband has successfully convinced the court that he had nothing to do with Kyron's disappearance and that he can properly care for Kyron's half-sister.

There have been some sophisticated legal arguments by the Hormans' lawyers about who has the burden of proof/burden of persuasion, the relevant legal presumptions, what evidence should be admissible and how much weight should be given to it, etc. The bottom line is, the judge isn't going to let Terri Horman have visitation unless the judge is completely convinced that Kiara will be safe from harm.

I expect Terri Horman's lawyers will argue something along the lines of, assuming for the sake of argument that she killed/solicited the kidnapping and/or murder of her despised stepson Kyron, that is irrelevant to the issue of what a fantastic parent she was/will be to her own daughter Kiara. I expect she will be awarded at least supervised visitation, same as convicted child molesters are awarded.

Kel said...

It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
By involvement I don't mean she 'did it'. Perhaps she 'had it done' or gave opportunity for it to happen. It's a crying shame that someone would knowingly do something like that to a child.
It's definitely a sick situation to be sure. I hope they find him so that some closure can be brought to his mother and father.

My thoughts exactly, Anon.

Also the footage of her in a Find Kyron T-shirt at the press conference with other family members is way off. She has proven herself to be a low type and the fact that she hasn't been forthright supports that. I think she hasn't cleared herself because she is hiding important facts--I can only conclude that the truth is not on her side.

PS I'd add to the list of children who deserve justice and whose cases we haven't heard anything on for some time, the McStay boys. The case breaks my heart,

Katprint said...

I hope they find him too. There is NO WAY Terri is going to help that search, though.

If she set it up to happen (through hiring someone like the landscaper or through malicious neglect) or did it herself, she is in a much better situation legally if Kyron's remains are never found. It is possible to prosecute someone for murder even if the victim's body hasn't been located, but it is MUCH more difficult to get a conviction. Of course Terri's lawyers know this and would have advised her accordingly.

With the Terri being guilty argument, it boggles the mind that she would bring him somewhere in public, where he is known, his own school and kidnap him from that place. She MAY have, but still it does boggle the mind.

OldPsychNurse said...

Everyone at Skyline School on that date was identified and most were interview. There wasn't an "unidentified" man. Ester Matthews did not give an unknown man permission to leave the school with Kyron. No sane adult would ever do that.

Anonymous said...

Terri specifically chose the day of the science fair because it was public, but also because everyone was busy, and her actions would not be obvious. She borrowed her husband's truck that morning under the guise of transporting the science project back home after the fair, which she did not do. She also created some confusion about a doctor's appointment. Kyron mentioned to one of his friends that he had to leave to go to a doctor appointment right after the fair. Terri told a teacher that Kyron's doctor appointment was scheduled the next week.

Whatever Terri is hiding is more important to her than being in her young daughter's life. There is nothing that would separate me from my child. Nothing.

Peter, a woman in our local area will be on Dr. Phil May 5 and 6. Her grandchildren were killed in June and September of 2010 and no charges have been filed against the mother or her then husband. Kiera Pulaski and Darby Hodges are the children's names. Sadly, these two children were found and had all of the signs of abuse, etc... one was murdered in Kalispell, Montana and the other in Republic, MO and the murderers walk free. I've just become aware of the case but wasn't sure if you've covered it previously. I'm getting ready to search online and see if I can find statements by the mother. I have 2 statements made by the Grandma.

Cheryl Hodges
My son and I will be on the Dr Phil show on May 5th and 6th. The show is about my two grandchildren who died in the care of their mother Julia savage Cummings and her husband codey Cummings. Kiera Pulaski died September 17, 2010 in Republic and her little brother died two and a half months earlier in Kalispell Montana. Both children had brain injuries and other illnesses and injuries including broken ribs cigarette burns, choke marks around the neck, pneumonia, massive bruises, abrasions and so much more. The mother and her husband are still free and living in the Republic area. Dr Phil is very good at getting the truth and exposing them for the neglect and abuse that they applied to these poor little ones. We were very happy with the outcome of the show and hope for arrests soon. The pair have warrants out for their arrests. Julia in Montana and codey in AZ. Please watch the show. It sheds a light on the terrible problem of child abuse in this country. Please share their story. THank you so much!

This woman julia savage aka julia cummings is wanted in the Flathead Valley Montana for felony bad check. She can be extradited. She was the mother of Darby Hodges and Kiera Pulaski who both died in june and september of 2010 of undetermined causes of death. They both had injuries when they died. If you see her please call 911 or Mark Wilcox of the Republic PD.

Anon @ 9:56, Yes, it was a busy event but someone could have, theoretically, seen her actions, another parent, teacher, or even someone who did not know her or Kyron but noticed a lady with red hair leaving with a kid, etc. My point is it is more odd that noone saw her and no way she could have known she would not be noticed if she came up with the plan to kidnap him from school.
Yes, she did take the truck but the kids didn't bring their projects home at that point and she did email the teacher asking when she should pick up the project which should have drawn attention to the fact Kyron was not in school at that point.
She MAY be and probably is the one who harmed Kyron, all I'm saying is I think it would have been more likely someone would have noticed her actions so it doesnt make sense she would have thought noone would notice.

Hi Anon 11:21

I actually think the science fair was the perfect situation for Terri to carry out her plan to get rid of Kyron.

If Terri 'lost' Kyron at the grocery store, or he disappeared from their home, or anywhere else under Terri's watch, then the blame would fall squarely on her. She would be the last known person to see him, the parent responsible for his care, and the one who would have to come up with the answers about what happened.

At the science fair Terri had a 'public invited' event, where she could surrender her responsibility for Kyron's care to the school/his teacher, without leaving him in the direct presence of the teacher. The kids were milling around for a while before reporting to the classroom, so by the time Kyron was noticed missing, Terri could have her dirty deed done.

I think that is what Terri anticipated happening...that she (or preferably Kaine) would receive a call before she even made it home from her medication, back roads, and gym stops, to say that Kyron was missing. When that didn't happen she called the school to ask about the project pickup, and when that still didn't end in them informing her of Kyron's missing status...she dragged Kaine and the baby down to the bus drop so that Kaine would be there to witness her show of,'what do you mean Kyron isn't on the bus".

As far as the worry of being seen, she may have told Kyron to meet her in the truck, or she could easily explain away if anyone saw her walking back to the truck with her own step-son. It's as simple as, 'oh yeah, he wanted some money to get ice cream after lunch', or 'he forgot something in the truck'.

Of course, none of us will ever understand why Terri did any of this, but there is little that anyone could say to convince me that she is not the perpetrator/instigator of Kyron's disappearance. I base this on her behavior as a whole, and also largely on the same thing several others have expressed. There is nothing I wouldn't do, or submit to, in order to be with my child. Terri is content to be denied access to her own flesh and blood in order to remain silent, and cover her own tail. That tells me all I need to know about her.

Fliers Drawing Attention To Missing Toddler
Posted Friday, May 2nd, 2014 at 7:50 am.
Updated 2 hours ago
By The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The grandfather of missing Maine toddler Ayla Reynolds is posting fliers to draw attention to the case.

Ron Reynolds of Portland says he wants to remind people the disappearance remains unresolved and that the family wants her home.

The posters have a photo of the youngster and the three adults who were in the house on the night she disappeared. Her father, Justin DiPietro, reported her missing from his Waterville home on Dec. 17, 2011.

Reynolds told WGME-TV that he believes Ayla has been “hidden” and the family wants answers.

Maine state police said the case remains active and that “anything to keep Ayla’s name in the spotlight is positive.”

I agree with Jen Ow, the science fair was a perfect place to put a nefarious plan into action. There are a plethora of "outs" and explanations should someone have questioned her. My belief of this is from experience with school functions and my knowledge of Skylines protocol at the time. Then add to it her firm stand behind the 5th, at the detriment to her relationship with her daughter, it becomes obvious the woman is guilty of SOMETHING.

3rd May 2014 - Seventh Anniversary Since Madeleine’s Abduction
2 May 2014 at 00:21
Seven years without our daughter, seven years without a big sister for Sean and Amelie. Sometimes we feel totally stuck for words. A lot of the time there are no words. Our situation seems as unbelievable as it did that very first night without Madeleine.

Whenever I find myself becoming paralysed with disbelief, unease, frustration or sadness, I have to refocus my mind on the positives, of which there are many.

The Metropolitan Police force continue to make encouraging progress in their investigation with new evidence being uncovered, fresh information coming in to the inquiry following appeals and subsequently, links being made between people and events. We are hugely grateful to the general public for continuing to support the investigation, especially those who have found the courage to come forward with information despite difficult circumstances. Whilst the MPS are cautiously optimistic of beginning enquiries on the ground in Portugal in the near future, we really hope that this will turn into a concerted effort from the Portuguese authorities as we know there is still a lot to do. Working together is key to the progress of the investigation and a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) could provide a more streamlined way of working with less bureaucracy. It may be seven years since we last saw Madeleine but the passing of further weeks and months as a result of unnecessary delays and barriers are not only frustrating, they are incredibly distressing. Each day without Madeleine and each day of not knowing is another day too many, regardless of how much time has already gone by.

May is an important month for all missing children and their families worldwide with May 25th being International Missing Children’s Day. This May is particularly special in the UK as a new enhanced Child Rescue Alert (CRA) system (to help find abducted and missing children in serious danger) is to be launched by the charity Missing People and the National Crime Agency. This system (based on the highly effective ‘Amber Alert’ in the USA) I believe, will help to save the lives of abducted children and ease the suffering faced by their families. It’s a very exciting step forward.

Throughout the whole month, the charity Missing People are running a ‘Forget-Me-Not’ campaign with several different ways for the public to get involved to help find missing children. One really important and simple way you can get on board is by signing up to the Child Rescue Alert. By registering, you will receive an alert with relevant information, by text or email, when a child is abducted in your area. This way you can join the search immediately and play a vital role in helping to find a child in danger. Please take a minute to visit www.childrescuealert.org.uk and sign up today. There are several other ways to help too – Take a look on www.missingpeople.org.uk.

It goes without saying, but needs to be said….We are grateful beyond words for the continued and unwavering commitment, help and love from all our faithful supporters. Thank you SO much for keeping Madeleine in your hearts.

SEVEN YEARS.
STILL MISSING.
STILL MISSED.
NEVER FORGOTTEN.
THANK YOU.

Kate
