Baby Ayla's Mother Seeks Child Support

Statement Analysis has indicated Ayla's father for deception in the disappearance of the child. His language revealed both deception, and that the child is deceased.

AUGUSTA, Maine — There’s a hearing this week to decide whether the father of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds should continue to pay child support for the girl.
Justin Dipietro reported Ayla missing from his home almost three years ago.
For the past year, Trista Reynolds, Ayla’s mother, has received an $82 check once a week from Justin Dipietro. It’s a child support payment for their missing daughter, Ayla.
On Wednesday, they’re scheduled for a Department of Health and Human Services hearing about whether Dipietro should keep paying that money.
Neither parent has to appear at the DHHS hearing, but Reynolds says she’ll be there and she hopes Dipietro will be, too.
When asked why Reynolds thinks Dipietro should pay even though police don’t believe their daughter is alive, Trista said that “some people might feel that way, but I feel that until Ayla’s body is found and brought back to me, he should still be responsible for her.
Reynolds added, “She needs to know that Mommy is still here, and I didn’t go anywhere and I didn’t stop fighting, and I’m not gonna stop fighting for her. Because justice needs to be brought.”
The last time Trista and Justin saw each other was when Dipietro appeared in courton a charge unrelated to his missing daughter’s case.
Dec. 17 will mark three years since Ayla was reported missing. No one was has been charged in connection the case.

DiPietro had another child earlier this year: http://justiceforayla.blogspot.com/2014/09/how-many-kids-does-justin-have.html

I give trista a lot of credit. She has been thru hell and just wants some justice for her little girl.

This is a tough one. Trista is not using the child support payments towards Aylas' support. What is she doing with it now that she has no on-going costs related to Aylas'care? Is she saving it just in case Ayla returns?

Maybe it would be more appropriate if the support payments were held by the court pending the outcome of Aylas' disappearance since neither Trista or Justin have her in their care.

IMO, Justin should continue to be held liable for paying the support, particularly since it could be speculated that he only took her in the first place so he could stop making child support payments; but now that he has likely murdered and disposed of her, yet claims she is still alive; then he ought to have to go right on accumulating support for her until she is found, either dead or alive, just not handed off to Trista since she doesn't have Ayla either.

Funny thing is, that if Justin had won custody of Ayla then Trista would be paying him support payments for Ayla. Turn-about is fair play.

Just my thoughts.

The child support should be much higher and he should pay that to an independent search group, doing physical searches in the state to find Ayla.Since he "lost" her and he is witholding information from LE, he should pay that until the day Ayla is found. Almost three years, sad.

that pic is of Gabriel McQueary not baby Ayla.

Trista still has Ayla's belongings and has to be prepared to make a home for Ayla on short notice should Ayla be found. That means wherever she lives, she has to have room for Ayla. The little pittance of money paid by Justin is probably nowhere near what it takes for her to do that.

Courts can't just make up rules. Child support statutes call for payments to be made from one parent to the other (or to the state if on benefits) for the support of the child. There is no legal provision for requiring the parent entitled to receive child support to turn it over to a third party for a search or anything else.

OT: This is an interesting case. I really don't think the husband killed his wife. http://fox2now.com/2014/03/10/the-faria-murder-fox-files-special-report/

The DiPietros are the ones still clinging to that "ninjas/ robbers/ aliens/ dingoes broke in and stole my baby" story. Kinda hard to both insist your kid is a live abduction victim while ALSO arguing she has no need for potential support.

A smart child-murderer barely avoiding prosecution for his crimes would keep his mouth shut and pay his due child support eagerly....

Clearly we are not dealing with a card-carrying member of MENSA here

Classic case of reliable denial verses an unreliable denial.

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– We began this investigation more than two months ago after a jury convicted husband Russ Faria. Jurors believe he murdered his wife Betsy.

We’ve examined evidence as we’ve looked into nagging questions, you’ll see unfold for the first time.

He screamed on the 911 call, “Ahhhhh. God no!”

It was two days after Christmas, 2011.

He screamed to the 911 operator, “She`s got a knife in her neck!”

He said he thought his wife Betsy killed herself as he exclaimed, “Why would she do this to me?”

A medical examiner said she was stabbed 55 times with her arms nearly severed. Most of the stabbings occurred after she was dead.

Betsy`s Mom Janet Meyer called it, “A crime of passion, when you stab somebody over 50 times, it`s usually a crime of passion, a husband or wife. I felt right away it was Russ.”

He was the immediate suspect. On a police interview tape a Detective told Russ, “She was stabbed over 25 times.” Russ yelled, “Oh my god, no!” Another detective responded, “They`re still counting.”

The Major Case Squad questioned him for days.

On the interrogation tape, one officer told Russ, “God is in this room right now.” Faria answered, “God knows I did not do this.”

He did not back down. He continued, “I did not do this. I did not do it.”

In our joint investigation with the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Robert Patrick and I interviewed Russ Faria in prison, less than three months after a jury convicted him.

I asked Russ, “Did you kill Betsy?”

Russ answered, “No, no I didn`t. No. I loved her and would not, could not do that to anybody let alone somebody that I love.”

Evidence techs did not find a drop of blood on him. Police did find bloody slippers in a closet and a light switch that appeared to be flipped on with something bloody.

I asked Faria in prison, “How do you explain bloody slippers?” Faria answered, “Well, uhm judging by the way they looked, appeared to me like they were dipped.”

Only those slippers. No bloody footprints.

Faria continued, “I hadn`t even been wearing my slippers and then I`m told that they were in my closet, but I never put them in my closet.”

Defense attorney Joel Schwartz added that police found no evidence of clean up. He said, “They took the pipes to look for blood. There was no evidence of blood in the shower or in the drain pipes.”

In trial, the state focused on Faria`s demeanor. Lincoln County Prosecutor Leah Askey told jurors, “He never needed a Kleenex.”

We also asked Faria why he appeared emotionless during our prison interview. Faria said, “Well, I`ve put a lot of things behind me. I`ve made peace with a lot of things. I`ve shed a lot of tears, when she was diagnosed both times with cancer. I loved her. I love her still. I didn`t kill her.”

Four alibi witnesses said Russ was with them from 6-9 pm in O`Fallon, MO.

The drive from their house to Troy, puts Faria home within minutes of him making the 911 call. It`s a call Betsy`s family believes is telling.

Betsy`s sister Mary Rodgers said, “Your wife is laying there dead. You`d be bawling. You`d be hard to communicate with. He would stop. She`d ask him a question. He`d answer it then start right back up with the wailing.”

How could he think it was suicide? From prison Faria answered, “She had threatened it previously. She had actually tried it previously, left notes and that. My mind wasn`t working right. I saw slashes on her arms and I jumped to conclusions.”

He said he knew police would focus on him. He`s the husband. But even sitting in prison, after a jury convicted him and a judge sentenced him to life, he says he would not change how he handled it.

His attorney Joel Schwartz said, “He wouldn`t take time served on a misdemeanor.” I exclaimed, “Really?” Schwartz answered, “Yeah. He didn`t kill his wife.”

Schwartz said he told prosecutors they had a case, but not against Russ. He explained, “My point was, appoint me as special prosecutor and I`ll prosecute the right person and I`ll guarantee you a conviction.”

How do you support a child that no longer exists? I'd be pushing him about the broken arm instead!

Googled pic of Russ Faria. It's in the eyes! Couldn't be any crazier!

Bypass any statements and just look at photos at that point.

That isn't Ayla as someone has already stated. Just googled it and you'll see.

In thinking about this, regardless as to Aylas' whereabouts, or how much Trista has suffered, or what Justin may or may not have done as it concerns Aylas' whereabouts and likely murder and disposal, and with no charges or body; I don't see how Trista can justify
seeking child support for Ayla when she does not have her nor can she produce her.

But I guess we'll soon find out the courts' decision, won't we?

Peter,

Just a suggestion, I think it is a very good idea to keep posting any updates pertaining to Trista/child support, as it looks like, in my opinion, there are some members of the DiPietro clan posting here. Which is great, because every word they say should be analyzed for any possible leakage. I've followed this case closely and can't wait till it cracks. Keep talking DiPietros!!!

Interesting Anon @ 10:15 am. Most anyone following this case would not think that Trista would be able to "produce" Ayla regardless of whether they feel Justin was involved in her "disappearance". Why are you blaming Trista that she cannot "produce" Ayla? The beginning of your post is slightly distracting where you seem to start off acting as an impartial commenter. Why do you think Trista would be able to "produce" Ayla? Just curious about your thoughts.

And Anon 10:15, I do have to compliment you, you sound very intelligent. Your writing style, it is only a wild guess, but it sounds like you yourself may be familiar with the law and/or composing legal documents?

Does anyone know if Justin is still paying the life insurance premium that he bought on Ayla? Somehow his plan went wrong. He had to know that her body was needed to collect the money but maybe he hid her too well, then couldn't go back again to wherever he dumped her. Either way as of a year ago It was reported come hell or high water he made sure he didn't miss a payment. What a lowlife. Why was Ayla the baby he chose to kill? I bet because Trista is the only one that had him tied up in family court. Unbelievable! That he'd be expected to actually take responsibility for Ayla. I always get an ache in my chest when I think of her broken arm and how he didn't take her to the hospital for like 24 hours. Poor lil sweet baby must of been awful pain. I sure hope karma gets his ass.

Anon @ 3:15,

That is a good question on whether Justin is still paying the life insurance. My theory about this case involves some kind of "third party" meaning "living outside of the DiPietro home" who may have "tricked" Justin into believing he could get life insurance for Ayla regardless of whether her body was found. Phoebe I believe was also a main player in the case. It is possible there were 2 or more motives converging from different people resulting in the tragedy that befell Ayla. Phoebe also seemed very callous to Ayla's physical injury and suffering from the broken arm incident in statements we have looked at, causing me, personally, to wonder how she herself may have treated Ayla. I hope this case gets solved soon!

Note to losers: Children are not cash cows. If you're looking for a "get rich quick" scheme, look elsewhere. Ayla's gone and it seems your most urgent concern is money. How sad for you! Even sadder for Ayla.

Sick psychopaths. He needs to pay and Trista needs to file a wrongful death suit against ALL of them, the life insurance policy and snaggletooths house. I doubt Lance or Elisha will ever have anything of value. Wouldn't hurt to throw his buddy Derek and Mary Poppins(Heidi) in the lawsuit as well. Put them all on the stand!!
Ayla will have Justice one way or the other.
