Deception? Kidnappers of Denise Huskins Make Threat

Anonymous Gone Girl 'kidnappers' claim they are the heirs to Ocean's 11 and were just 'practicing' for a campaign of big name snatches

  • Self-proclaimed kidnappers behind 'Gone Girl abduction' of Denise Huskins are demanding police apologize for calling the incident a hoax
  • In an email to the San Francisco Chronicle, the group threatens that they will 'cause harm' if Huskins or boyfriend Aaron Quinn face criminal charges
  • Say police have until noon on Tuesday to apologize, and also use the email to outline how and why they kidnapped Huskins
  • Group of three people claim they drilled a hole in her window and used squirt guns that they made to look like guns to take Huskins
  • Claim they monitored Quinn so he would not go to police, which is why he did not call authorities for 12 hours
  • The kidnappers also compare themselves to the cast of the film Ocean's 11 and say taking Huskins was just a dry run for bigger kidnappings

The case of the 'Gone Girl' physiotherapist and her boyfriend who were accused of staging her kidnapping has taken another strange twist – a group who are claiming to be the kidnappers have demanded an apology from the police.
Densie Huskins, 29, was allegedly snatched from her home by kidnappers who tied her boyfriend up on March 23, then released one day later 400 miles away beside her parents' home.
After her ‘release’ police accused them of staging the kidnapping – a claim they both strongly denied.
Now the San Francisco Chronicle has received a string of anonymous emails from the apparent kidnappers in which they compare themselves to the cast of Ocean's 11 and claim they will strike again.

In an email the kidnappers write; 'I/we may be the direct agent of harm. But it will be made crystal clear that the Vallejo Police Department, and you, Mr. Park, had every opportunity to stop it.'

note the deliberate confusion of pronouns with "I/we"
Note also the word "may" allows for the possibility that they may not be the direct agent of harm.
Note that "direct" is also unnecessary as there would be an "indirect" agent of harm?

Last week Lt. Park, the spokesman for the Vallejo Police Department, said that the kidnapping of Huskins, which triggered a statewide search that involved 100 volunteers, 40 detectives and numerous FBI agents, was  an 'orchestrated event.'
The letter to the Chronicle says authorities have until noon on Tuesday to apologize.
It also demands that the police make clear that neither Huskins or her boyfriend Aaron Quinn - who was with her at the time she was allegedly kidnapped but waited 12 hours to call police - will face any criminal charges.
As for the main reason behind the kidnapping, they write; 'The Mare Island kidnapping was a training mission to test means and methods that would be used on higher net worth targets.'

"just practicing, sir!"

They then compare themselves to the cast of Ocean's 11, the famous caper film that starred members of the Rat Pack when it premiered in 1960 and Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and George Clooney in the 2001 remake.
It is not the first email the alleged kidnappers have sent the paper either, also reaching out to them on March 24 with an audio file of Huskins to prove she was still alive one day after being taken from her home in Mare Island.
She eventually turned up in Huntington Beach, where both of her parents live, just a few hours later.
This latest email, sent on Saturday from a dummy account, was 9,000 words long, and detailed why the group kidnapped Huskins, and how they went about taking her from her home.
The group consists of three members, two with college educations, and they claim they are also behind a recent string of burglaries and car thefts in the area.
They claim they drilled holes in the window of Huskins and Quinn's home to gain entry, and then used squirt guns with 'strobe flashlights and laser pointers' attached to them to make it appear as if they were firearms.
They say they played 'calming music' as they went about the abduction, and put monitors on Quinn, 30, so they could make sure he did not go to police.
They then say they put Huskins in the trunk of Quinn's car and drove off with her.
The group of three people claim they drilled a hole in a window of Huskins and Quinn's home (above) and used squirt guns that they made to look like guns to take Huskins

In the end however, they claim it was a case of mistaken identity, and they did not mean to take Huskins, thinking that someone else would be in the house.
They say that is why they decided to drop her off in Huntington Beach and that they were 'horrified at what we had done.'
As for the ransom they requested, what police believe to be a rather paltry $8,500, the group said; 'We chose $8,500 because it was below the $10,000 reporting threshold, and far enough below that it likely would not be flagged as part of a structured transaction under that prong of the reporting law.'
Attorneys for both Quinn and Huskins claim that their clients have confirmed aspects of this email, and that they have sent photos of the holes drilled in the window that the kidnappers used to gain access to prove that whoever sent this note is telling the truth.
Huskins' attorney, Doug Rappaport, said that the reason police called the incident a hoax is because the kidnappers used 'sophisticated computer skills' that neither they or the FBI could 'comprehend.'
Lt. Park, the Vallejo Police Department and the FBI all have yet to comment on the emails.

There's that pesky number 3!
This whole story is ridiculous. I laughed when I read this. There are so many absurd ideas in this article lol what kind of kidnappers would ask for so little money? Or be horrified at their mistake in grabbing the wrong person? And what did they play 'calming music' on? Wouldn't the police have already turned the house (scene if the crime) upside down and already found the entry point (holes in the windows) and why would the woman and her boyfriend have had to send police and/or attorneys pictures to prove they aren't lying? My personal lol moment was that even though the alleged kidnappers in effect TOTALLY BUNGLED this kidnapping they still compare themselves to Oceans 11! I mean WOW, REALLY?!? And what criminal mastermind would come forward to exonerate another suspect??
Huskins and her boyfriend need to be jailed. Not just for wasting law enforcement time, effort, and funding but for comparing their foolish plea for media attention to a great movie like Oceans 11.

Iv'e followed this from day one..

This is what i posted a few days ago. Tania and i had a chuckle about it.

OT:

This case more bizzare day by day.

Lawyer: Woman talking to police, kidnapping wasn't hoax

Snipped:

Attorney Doug Rappaport said the abduction of his client, Denise Huskins, was not staged as police have suggested.

Huskins met with Vallejo Police detectives for several hours Thursday "with the hope of clearing her name because she is absolutely, unequivocally, 100 percent, positively a victim," Rappaport said. "This is no hoax."

This has more qualifiers than a world cup group stage.

The shortest sentence is always the best. Take out "absolutely, unequivocally, 100 percent, positively" and we have a strong straight to the point sentence ""she is a victim," the need to over qualify his statement to persuade, weakens it ?

If he believes in what she has said happened then, then above "she is a victim is all that is needed ?

This story just gets better and better!

Abduction is a serious crime and the abductors would face serious jail time if caught.

Given this well known nugget of info, think on the following.

Three people plan an abduction, they break into the house and grab their victim and then make a ransom demand fo $8500.
They later release her unharmed and pretty much tell the police do what you will.

The police look at all the dtails and storis and decide the 'victim' and her boyfriend made the whole thing up and it's a hoax.

Now.

Genuine abductors would be delighted if LE came up with this since they walk away scott free and can try again with a different victim.

Instead we have the alleged abductors conacting the media and LE to say it isn't a hoax, she was genuinely abducted and they want an apology to the couple or else.
They then write a 9000 word essay on why they abducted her and how, how they abducted her by mistake and in fact she was a trial run for further high value victims, even to claiming the amount was chosen as it was below reporting levels.

I do not know of any genuine abductor who would do what these are apparantly doing and who would ake into account reporting levels when choosing the dollar value for the ransom.

Basically theyy are saying come get us, we will do it again etc etc, something which genuine abducors are not likely to do

The obvious question is why do what they are doing which is the unexpected?

What it is making me think is the couple are in it togeather and have now involved family or friends (if they weren't involved originally)
This would explain the unexpected behavior as it is meant to divert attention from the guilty by saying cooeee, lookiee here , we dun wot she said guv'nor.

Simply because it is unexpected and so darn blatant in its intent, all it has succeeded in doing is making me look closer and the girl and her boyfriend and also to her friends and family.

What group would write a 9000 word essay?
Who would write explaining their motive and their MO and the fact they messed up?
Why would genuine abductors be desperate to get LE to focus on them when they could have walked away free and easy with their genuine victim being accused of a hoax?

It seems they are digging a deeper and deeper hole for themselves in their efforts to draw attention away from the girl and her boyfriend.

Was this a prank gone too far?

I mean, c'mon, even they must realise just how dumb and desperate this all sounds and it just points the finger of guilt straight at the alleged victim.

They need to poly the girl and her boyfriend for a start ( they will fail).

Even thugh it may be a dummy email account (hotmail, yahoo, i have several disposable email addresses for different forums , groups etc ) The ip address will still be visible in the headers of the message and can thus be traced.
If a proxy there are still ways and given the dumbness of the people involved i wonder if they even thought about ip addreses and proxies)

I will no be surprised if they sent the emails themselves or their friends/ family did.

in the meantime i wonder if theeis will turn out to be a comedy sketch on how not to abduct someone .

My first thought too. This is just absurd.

The two statements have a lot in common. Hey- maybe the Foreign Faction has finally struck again! LOL

Sheesh, this is not going to fool anyone. It's embarrassing just reading it. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

Apparently, she is/was not cooperating with authorities. Who would not want to cooperate and find the people who kidnapped you IF you were really kidnapped? Sounds like she is avoiding an interview with FBI and local police.
"Huskins had promised through family members to speak with investigators but as of late Wednesday they were unable to contact her or her family, police said, adding that she has since retained an attorney. Huskins could not be reached for comment by ABC News Thursday.

"All indications initially were that she would be cooperative with the investigation," Park said during a news conference Wednesday night. But "as of right now, we have not heard from Ms. Huskins.

"The FBI, which assisted Vallejo police in its investigation, had arranged for an aircraft to bring her from Huntington Beach to Northern California for the interview, police said. But, detectives said yesterday they don't know where she is."

It sounds like like she is hiding something.

Innocent people would want the perps caught, especially since they claimed she was a mistake and a trial run for higher value victims.

Even if she feared they would return (they themselves told the police to do whatever they wanted)LE would be offering protectiom for her and her family.

To my cynical way of thinking, she is avoiding meetings with LE because she knows the whole thing was a hoax, she and her boyfriend are involved as are some of her friends in all likelihood.

She knows her story won't stand up to any kind of scrutiny and that they will likely ask to polygraph her which she would fail.
Her attorney would tell her not to take the poly (probably after doing his own one to see how she would do and if she would pass)
Innocent people have no need to hire attorneys.

I wonder what info the emails will provide from the headers which include the email account it was sent from (the real obe) the ip address and all sorts of info and what group would write a 9000 word essay?

I've been kidnapped, by a stranger, and I can say without a doubt that from the beginning I was completely cooperative with the police and held absolutely nothing back from them for their investigation. I read somewhere that she failed to turn herself in, or was reluctant to do so after the ordeal. As for me, if the police had asked me to set up a tent at FBI headquarters for the indefinite future, you bet your butt I would have done so. ESPECIALLY if my kidnapper were still on the loose and unaccounted for. Thankfully in my situation he was captured right away.
That woman is a foul, disgusting excuse for a human and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible. It angers me that she isn't currently in jail, actually.

Odd twist to this story. Someone has been arrested in the case of another couple, situation similar to Huskins. Husband broke free and fought back. The kidnapper left his cell phone behind. Search of his residence found a stolen car and items described by Huskins that she saw during her kidnapping. Story ongoing.

All you assholes calling her a vile disgusting human being look mighty might foolish now. Turns out she was telling the truth, the police fucked it up big time. They initially interrogated her boyfriend and believe he murdered her. When she "inconveniently" turned out to be alive, they then accused her of faking it. After learning she was going to be interrogated as a suspect, instead of a kidnapping victim she did the smart thing and lawyered up. Because of that the police foolishly accused her of hoaxing, and slndered the couple in public all while the real culprit was on the loose. This lead to harassment, being branded as frauds and have nasty comments like the ones on this paged leveled against her and her boyfriend. This just added to the stress of being victims, and made the police look utterly, utterly incompetent.

Nicole, you, specifically, should google and read her impact statement at her kidnapper’s sentencing.
