Steve Wentz: How Many Deception Indicators?

How many signals of deception can you catch in a short, several minute, video clip?

Please keep in mind the questions asked, and the techniques employed.  This is a useful video for training purposes.

I'm sneaking a video while under the gun at work. Only superficially found:
He indicated that his parents and grandparents beliefs were the "foundation for many of the belief's I carried out", then self corrected and said, "tried to carry out". He only used "many" of the beliefs therefore he weakened his statement. This would mean that in the foundation of his beliefs, "many" came from his parents, for which he "tried" (attempted, but failed) to carry out. Therefore the beliefs from his parents and grandparents didn't make it to being a foundation of his beliefs.

I also noticed that when asked about saying things to a kid, he stated, "I've never said that to a kid at school". This means he has said it to a kid, except it wasn't at school. He may have threatened the kids, but not when they were at school. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the kids that may come forward would verify he threatened him at a park or another setting that wasn't school.

"Never" makes the denial unreliable. He did threaten a kid at school.

Ft Myers Fla attack by suburban domestic tertorists. Lawsuit against venue for killed teenager. Inadequate security? A drive by shooting into a crowded area by violent black teens is the fault of the property owner? Will someone of stature in US rebuke the blk community for blaming others for their depravity? Where is blk leadership? Democratic party has become despicable, immoral and repugnant. Philippine president ordered police to arrest or kill drug dealers. In one month 300 killed to exterminate those ruining the country.

I counted six but probably missed some. One was in the undercover part about his emptying his pockets. I noticed when he started getting mad at the reporter in the follow up, he emptied his pockets.

The Sheep said...

Additionally, the reporter is lying about concern for his "nephew"; he clearly made up the specific incident.

Do you really want to kick my ass? Do you really think I’m a motherfucker? Son, go for it. Uh, and I’ll give you the first shot.

You’ve done this to a student?

I’ve done this more than once. And I said, but I guarantee ya, I will kick your fucking ass.

The union would throw me under the bus. I mean...

Would they?

Are you serious? I mean, if, if, yeah! If, if it, if it was proven that I told a kid come at me, hit me and I will kick your ass? Oh yea, they wouldn’t...

His folks are talking about going to the union or going to the police, one of the two.

Okay, (shakes head no,) go for it (juts chin at interviewer). I mean, ifff, I mean, first of all, I’m the president of the union, so...

Oh, so you’re saying it didn’t happen?

I have never (shakes head no,) said that to a kid at school (shakes his head yes).

My name is Steve Wentz. I’m a product of USD259, as are my parents, graduates of East High, I went to High, my grandparents went to Wichita H.S., which is not off course East High, and during that time I watched my parents display the characteristics became the foundation for many of the beliefs that I carried out, tried to carry out, through my life.

SW: Wichita State asked me to come out and talk to their new teachers in education about classroom discipline and I went ... ex-military I’m sure you...I mean you know, there were times in my class where I had a kid do something crazy and you know...I told him when the bell rings, I said han,n,ng on, hang on a minute, I-w-want to talk you. So the bell rings, everybody leaves and I go ri-shut the door, lock it, pull the shade down, take all my shit out of my pockets and I go, d-do ou really want to kick my ass? Do you really think I’m a motherfucker? Son, go for it. Uh, and I’ll give you the first shot.

R: You’ve done this to a student?

SW: I’ve done this more than once. And I said, but I guarantee ya, I will kick your fucking ass.

The union would throw me under the bus. I mean...

R: Would they?

SW: Are you serious? I mean, if, if, yeah! If, if it, if it was proven that I told a kid come at me, hit me and I will kick your ass? Oh yea, they wouldn’t... I don’t know about Virginia, but Kansas would hang my ass out to dry.

R: They wouldn’t support you?

SW: No, no that’s over the line. No. That’s over the line.

Nic said...

R: So I’m here visiting relatives

SW: Okay

R: And I have a nephew and uh, he’s concerned, my family’s concerned that, and he’s been having problems with this, that you took him aside and said that you were going to kick his fucking ass.

SW: Well, um, first of all, I have no idea what you’re talking about, Dan. And second of all, um, second of all, it concerns me, that of the, uh, kinda cryptic nature of all this.

R: Okay. We just wa, we’re just trying to keep the name of the child out of it, and uh...

SW: Well, certainly, ha, I’ve spent 25 years looking out for the welfare of children and my own included. So, I’m confused as to who in the world would make an allegation like that?

R: So you’re saying it didn’t happen.

SW: I have never (shakes head no) said that to a kid at school (nods yes).

(pans to undercover bar video)

R: His folks are talking about going to the union or going to the police, one of the two.

SW: Okay, (shakes head no,) go for it (juts chin at interviewer). I mean, ifff, I mean, first of all, I’m the president of the union, so...

R: Oh, so they’re going to have you’re back...

SW: Well, no, not if I’ve done something wrong.

I’m just asking about whether this specific occurrence occurred, whether you said, you know, I’m going to kick your fucking ass to a kid?

Leans back, plays with pocket, smiles and shakes head no.

SW: No.

R: You’ve never said that?

SW: Oh I’ve said that before.

R: To a kid?

SW: To my own kids.

R: How about to your students? How about to your students?

SW: No. Why would I say that one of my students? Okay Dan, um (inaudible)...

R: So you said it to your own kid. It’s okay to say it to your own kids? I’m going to kick your fucking ass?

SW: Hey, what I say, what I say to my kids is my fucking business, Dan. This conversation is over and I tell you what? If you show up again, I’m gonna call the cops.

R: I gave you my name, (yeah) I gave you my phone number. (yes) If something changes and you want to come clean...

SW: The guy you need to talk to next, his name is, um..

R: If you want to come clean about it, let me know.

SW: His name is uh, Well I’ll let you talk to my attorney, okay? Let’s do that. Listen, I’m not going to sit here and have somebody make an allegation like that.

R: Alright. Is that where you were this afternoon when you were supposed to be at the dentist appointment or ...?

(sits back down)

R: I mean I drove all the way down here to talk to you, I show up at your office, you’re supposed to be at the dentist at 10, I show up at 2...

SW: What are you my fucking mother?

R: Well, you’ve got a post in and post out. Don’t you feel responsible to your constituents?

SW: (Wentz laughs) You’re a piece of work, Dan. You are a piece of work...

R: Nobody punched you out, nobody punched you in back at the, did you punch out at the office?

SW: I don’t have to punch out.

R: We’ll probably get in touch with the union here.

SW: Okay.

R: Maybe the NEA as well, talk to them.

Nods yes.

R: Talk to, because when there’s a specific allegation we have, you know specific allegation about..

SW: No, no..

R: My nephew that said that you took him aside and said, I am going to kick your fucking ass.

SW: I’ve heard what you said.

R: And you say you did not say that?

SW: I’m saying I did not say that.

(pans to undercover bar video)

R: How many others are there, I guess, is something that I’d like to know.

SW: Well, I guess we’ll find out.

R: Okay.

That's riveting! How can a person lie so easily.

Sounded like he was story telling to the undercover reporter in the first interview.

Has ther been an accusation against him?

The Sheep said...

He'd been consistently past tense; here he moves to present- not from experiential memory. He may have said something threatening to a student, but here he's thinking generally, not recalling a specific instance, though he wants us to believe it's a specific instance.

R: So I’m here visiting relatives

"So" seems an awkward beginning; he's unsure how to start the story of why he's approaching him. "Relatives" is vague.

SW: Okay

R: And I have a nephew and uh, he’s concerned, my family’s concerned that, and he’s been having problems with this, that you took him aside and said that you were going to kick his fucking ass.

He's stalling before getting to the statement "you took him aside and said..." The language carefully reflects language from the first interview.

SW: Well, um, first of all, I have no idea what you’re talking about, Dan. And second of all, um, second of all, it concerns me, that of the, uh, kinda cryptic nature of all this.

"No idea..." He has an idea.

"Cryptic nature..." He's picked up on "reporter's" deception.

R: Okay. We just wa, we’re just trying to keep the name of the child out of it, and uh...

"We" = spreading blame for the cryptic nature.

"The name of the child..."

Nope. He's not talking about someone he knows. Nephew (introduced) becomes "the child".

Strange. He starts off seemingly proud he's said it, then backs off, minimizing damage by saying it was his kids. Answers question with a question.

Then reporter makes his agenda clear with various gotcha questions that have nothing to do with the verification he's seeking. Dentist appointment? What?

Why does the "reporter" imply he's shown the original video to him but neglects to show his response? I don't think he did.

SW: Well, no, not if I’ve done something wrong.

First, if the accusation is false, wouldn't we expect "Yes, they will have my back against these false allegations."

Second, could "I've done something wrong" be an imbedded admission?

The Sheep said...

I think he lashed out verbally at students in anger, but doubt all the methodical activity preceding it ("everyone leaves...go...shut...lock door...pull shades...empty pockets...go")

After typing that- yikes! It's some of the most specific language he uses. Abuse words?

Anonymous said...

Is closing the shade akin to closing the door as far as analysis goes? And why the detail of emptying his pockets? Pockets brings to mind pants, drawing attention to that area. It all seems very aggressive and strangely sexual :/ And why did he feel the need to assert that he COULD kick a kids ass? Did he feel like his masculinity was being threatened by the student?
I bet he's the kind of guy who says he's gonna kick everybody's ass, students, family, strangers.

Off topic, BBM and yay

Former Chicago cop Drew Peterson has been sentenced to an additional 40 years in jail for attempting to organize a hit on the prosecutor who jailed him for killing his third wife.

Peterson, who is serving 38 years for murdering Kathleen Savio in 2004, was slapped with the fresh sentence for trying to arrange the murder of State's Attorney James Glasgow from his cell.

The 62-year-old had been due for parole in 2047 at age 93, but the the additional years will now all-but guarantee he dies behind bars.

The court heard that Peterson began his plot to kill Glasgow soon after he was jailed in 2012 for Savio's murder when he befriended fellow inmate Antonio 'Beast' Smith.

Some time in 2013 Peterson asked Smith whether his uncle could be persuaded to kill Glasgow, and Smith appeared to agree to the scheme.

But Smith actually went to the authorities and informed them of the plot, before agreeing to wear a wire and record his conversations with Peterson.

In total Smith captured hours of recordings that were played in full for the jury at Peterson's trial back in May.

In one of the recordings, Smith told Peterson he had arranged for his uncle to kill Glasgow by Christmas 2014, the Chicago Tribune reports.

'I told him what you said, that it's the green light on, that basically go ahead and kill him,' Smith said in one recording from November 2014. 'That's what you wanted, right? ... It ain't no turning back.'

'OK, all right. I'm in,' Peterson responded. 'From the first time we talked about it, there was no turning back. ... If I get some booze in here, we'll celebrate that night.'

Smith attempted to argue that the tapes were not genuine, and that he knew he was being recorded at the time.

He said he had faked the evidence along with Smith in order to help his friend get credit with the authorities and transfer out of Menard Correctional Center, which he described as the 'third-worst prison in the country'.

Smith argued that he was suicidal at the time, and did not think he would live to see the scheme come to fruition.

However, jurors at his trial took him at his word and found him guilty of attempting to orchestrate the murder.

Peterson had been facing 20 to 60 years behind bars for the crime, and Glasgow urged the judge to hand down the maximum sentence, saying it would be the 'end of days' in Illinois if criminals thought they could kill prosecutors and expect a minimum term.

Peterson was passive during proceedings, telling the judge: 'You can sentence me to whatever you want, I guess. This sentence, I won't outlive it.'

During the sentencing Peterson repeated his earlier claims that he is innocent of Savio's murder, and has nothing to do with the disappearance of fourth wife Stacy Ann Cales.

Cales disappeared in 2007, no trace of her has ever been found, and Peterson has never been charged in connection with the case.

However, the Cales case did prompt Glasgow to reopen investigations into Savio's death, which had initially been ruled an accidental drowning after she was found in her bathtub.

Peterson, a 30-year veteran of the Chicago police force, was later found guilty of killing her after the so-called Drew's Law was adopted, allowing hear-say evidence to be introduced in the case.

NFL denies sending Donald Trump letter over presidential debates

The NFL is pushing back on Donald Trump's claim that he received a letter from the football organization over the presidential debate schedule, tweeting out a denial Saturday evening.

Brian McCarthy, an NFL spokesperson, sent this message on Twitter:

@mikesisak @alexweprin While we'd obviously wish the Debate Commission could find another night, we did not send a letter to Mr Trump.

— Brian McCarthy (@NFLprguy) July 30, 2016
Trump, in an interview with ABC News earlier this week, complained about the three presidential debates, two of which are scheduled for the same night as NFL games.

"I'll tell you what I don't like," Trump said. "It's against two NFL games. I got a letter from the NFL saying, 'This is ridiculous.'"

"I don't think we should be against the NFL," he went on. "I don't know how the dates are picked."

On Friday, Trump, who once skipped a Republican primary debate after a tiff with one of the Fox News moderators, also tweeted out an accusation that "Hillary & the Dems" were attempting to "rig the debates" with the scheduling:

As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games. Same as last time w/ Bernie. Unacceptable!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 30, 2016

Debate dates are recommended by the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), a private panel that consists of Republicans and Democrats. The commission set the fall dates in September of last year.

On Saturday, the panel responded to Trump, saying that "the CPD did not consult with any political parties or campaigns in making these decisions."

The three presidential debates are scheduled for September 26, October 9, and October 19.

What about his Boss? or he neither has any report to, alike Hillary

Too many quotes, the article posted today, he answering of the questions
of why he won't speak negative, why he has no ill feelings of Islamic extremists murdering innocents, one of his own, what difference does it make .. who is he afraid of by telling the truth? or global truth isn't IN right now.

The pope made his remarks in a wide-ranging news conference with journalists travelling with him back to Rome after a five-day visit to Poland in which Francis presided over World Youth Day, a gathering of Catholic youth from all around the world in Krakow, Poland.

“I believe that it’s not fair to identify Islam with violence. It’s not fair and it’s not true,” he continued, adding that he’s had a long conversation with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, the Cairo-based Islamic university often described as the Vatican of the Sunni world.

“I know how they think. They look for peace, encounter,” he said.

Update on a previous OT.

Snipped:

The husband of missing Melbourne mum Karen Ristevski claims home security cameras stopped working months before her disappearance.

The question of why the cameras at Karen’s home did not catch her leaving the property have been raised during the investigation of her mysterious disappearance on June 29.

Neighbours also say they did not see her on the morning she vanished more than five weeks ago.

As rumours and confusion continue to surround the sudden disappearance, Karen’s husband Borce moved to address one of the question marks on Sunday.

He revealed to the Herald Sun that the CCTV cameras at the family’s home in Avondale Heights had been not working since earlier in the year.

The CCTV cameras at the house haven’t been working for five or six months, not just the time Karen disappeared, Mr Ristevski said.

I don't know if this is in response to a question or said in the Free Editing Stage.

From another article:

KAREN Ristevski’s husband will not make a fresh appeal for his missing wife.
The Herald Sun reports Borce Ristevski has been encouraged by police not to talk publicly about the mysterious disappearance of Mrs Ristevski, who was last seen about five weeks ago.

The police have told me not to talk about the case,” he said.

Again i don't if this is in response to a question. I can't gain access to "The Herald Sun" There maybe more information and the response's may show context.

Police however told the Herald Sun they did not stop people from talking to the media.
