Father Charged With Murder: Charles Crawford

The father is charged with murder after making a false report about his 4 month old daughter as her remains have been found.

When someone should report "what happened" but instead tells us why they did something or why something happened, the sensitivity is increased.  We color this in blue to catch the eye's attention.

Then, when there is a cluster of these blue words, we find the highest level of sensitivity in language.  It is where our issue lies, and it is where we aim our interview questions.

Here, it is in the extreme by the father:

"She was in the car. I only stepped out to grab her some water because she was asleep. And I came back out because I needed my wallet -- it was like two or three minutes. I get in my car because my wallet was in her diaper bag…and she was gone,"

In 911 calls, guilty parties, themselves, need help.  He does not ask for help for the baby, but for himself.

When the brain tells the tongue what to say,

the subject will choose from, perhaps, 20,000 words and in less than a micro second in time he must:

1.  Choose which words to use
2.  Which information to reveal
3.  Which information to not reveal
4.  Which words to use
5.  Where to place each word next to another
6.  Which tenses and pronouns to use

Consider how incredibly fast this process is.  This is what gives out our advantage in discerning deception from truth.

As he called 911, the truth came out.

"I need a police officer, my child was taken."

He needed a police officer, not his daughter.

He referred to his daughter, not as his daughter, nor by name, but by the word "child" which  is associated with risk.  We say "child abuse" and "child molester" rather than "daughter abuse" or "daughter molester."

This tiny 'slip' told us the baby was in trouble.

Charles Crawford, 24, is in Clermont County Jail after he filed a "fabricated" missing child report for his daughter Kaylynn Crawford, Savalas Kidd, assistant agent in charge of the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation, said.

Caller: I don't even know where i am, hold on one second Sir (inaudible) 130 (inaudible)

OP: Did you see who took your child?

Caller: NO

OP: Alright and when was the last time you saw her?

Caller: She was in the car i only stepped out to grab her some water because she was asleep. I came back out because i needed my wallet - it was like 2 - 3minutes. I get back in my car because my wallet was in her diaper bag...and she was gone.

OP: Ok, what kind of car was it?

There is a lot of confusion (some inaudible) over whether Kaylynn was taken in the car, but caller is describing his own car.

How sad is it that we can see the reports and their statements and know the truth of their lie?

Ofttimes in their very first words, we get that sinking feeling that all is not as they claim and, as we read further and we see the sensitive words, words that draw our attention and say see me and know, the truth becomes clear.

Sometimes we know the who, sometimes the how, sometimes even the where.
Closer examination will reveal the why, even if not the complete why.

Those dreaded blue highlighted words that tell us why something happened when the question has not been asked.

The blue highlighted words that say Look here for here lies the truth of the lie.

The background will reveal itself, coming from the shadows into the light, the substance abuse, the step parent, the domestic violence, the dead end job if even a job exists, the poverty, the jealousy, the blaming the world for their own inadequacies.

It will always be someone else's fault.

Now will comes the excuses, the blame game, the if onlys.

Will there be a previous history?
Would be be surprised if there was or more surprised if there wasn't?

Let us hope that justice is done to the full extent of the law and for Kaylynn.

We may hear the usual "lessons will be learned" or "steps will be taken that this never happens again" yet still it continues.

I am both angry and saddened that yet another young life has been lost to those meant to care and protect them.

Father accused of killing infant daughter has violent history

LOVELAND, OH (FOX19) -
A father charged with aggravated murder after authorities found his 4-month-old daughter dead Monday was ordered to attend anger management classes earlier this year following a domestic violence arrest involving the baby's mother, court records show.

According to a Hamilton County affidavit, an abusive car ride the day after Christmas led to Charles Crawford, 25, being charged with domestic violence.

He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in January and was ordered to undergo anger management classes, court records show. If he successfully completed them, the order against him would be lifted, but he failed to.

He was ordered to go again and was on probation at the time of his arrest Monday.

According to court records, a woman named Shaneeka Robinson and who signed as Shaneeka Crawford was the complainant/witness in the Dec. 26 incident in North College Hill.

Documents describe the day after Christmas last year after Crawford showed up to an address in the 3900 block of Cass Avenue.

She said Crawford told her there was an emergency, and asked if her mother could look after another child.

Once they were in the car, she said she asked Crawford to explain the emergency, but he didn't.

That's when she claims the car ride became abusive.

According to the affidavit, Robinson said, "he then got on the 75 s ramp and said "expletive I came to put expletive knife to your neck."

The document also states: "he found messages from me and my friend's conversation over the past week."

She said she feared for her life because he repeatedly hit her.

Crawford wanted to take her to Kentucky where no one could find her and she couldn't get a phone, the affidavit states.

She said she jumped out the car when it slowed down.

Crawford threatened to leave her there if she didn't get back in the vehicle, records show.

She got back in the car. She said he continued to threaten her life and the lives of her family.

She said in the document, "I gave him the baby because I feared what he'll do if he didn't get her."

She said in the document, "I gave him the baby because I feared what he'll do if he didn't get her."

Now we know what he did do when he did get her.

Was he the bio father?
Was this a case of jealousy over the attention she gave the baby?
Was the murder a result of him losing his temper with her?
Was her murder a result of him resenting have to look after her?
Was the murder aimed at getting back at the mother?

How heartless do you have to be to leave a baby in her car seat and then dump her in the river to drown?

How heartless do you have to be to commit such a crime and then walk away?

What was going through his mind as he made the 911 call?

THIS NEEDS TO BE A DEATH PENALTY CASE.
This was not insanity.
This was not an accident.
This was cold blooded premeditated murder.

At any point up till Kaylynn hit the water, he could have stopped.
He could have jumped in to save her after she hit the water, there was still a chance unless she was dead before she hit the water.

Will her mother stand by her dead daughter or will she stand by her man?
Who will be her priority?

Will she face charges as well given she had already filed reports against him and still took him back?
Were CPS involved given the family dynamics?
Are there other children?

Well spotted mom2many.
When water is introduced, it can be an indication of sexual activity having taken place.

This is a frightening thought, one the autopsy will concern or hopefully refute.

It is also concerning that he introduces water for her and she was found on the banks of a river.

If he is guilty of her murder, should he not get a well deserved death penalty, then LWOP must be the only option and given the likely manner of her death, her tender age of 4 months, he is going to find life inside a living hell as he will be the lowest of the low, even amongst other child killers.

I await now statements from Kaylynn's mother, who will she defend?
Who will be her priority?
Perhaps even herself if a gofundme page is set up.

A man was arrested after witnesses say he waded into a pond with his three-month-old baby, who drowned as horrified onlookers desperately tried to intervene.

Sean Flowers Jr. is in custody pending a homicide charge, with Milwaukee police saying he intentionally drowned his son near the Glenbrook Apartments in Wisconsin, FOX reported.

Witness Robert Amstadt told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel it was 'the most evil thing I’ve ever seen' before adding, 'That baby cried all the way out into the water. Then the crying stopped.'

Flowers, 25, was with several family members in the 9200 block of North 75th Street on Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of his grandmother's death.

He got into an argument with the mother of the child, before wading into a pond behind the apartments with his son until the water reached his chest, police said.

Witness Joey Griffin told FOX: 'Without thinking, I just ran into the water. I yelled at him "Where's the baby? Where's the baby?"

'And then I saw a baby floating in the water. I grabbed it. I tried to swim away with it. He lunged at me and took the baby again and swam further, deeper.

Amstadt, who lives in the apartment complex, called 911 around 8.45pm after he heard an argument break out with a woman's voice yelling: 'Give me back my baby', he told the Journal Sentinel.

The witness told the Journal Sentinel a crowd was 'crying and screaming' as they followed Flowers, frantically pleading with him and yelling: 'He's drowning the baby!'

Flowers was still in the pond when authorities arrived on the scene, although he was no longer holding his son.

He was tased and taken into custody on $150,000 bail, according to the Milwaukee County Jail website.

The unconscious infant was found 'within minutes' but efforts to resuscitate him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

'We all lost. We all lost this one. No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, sometimes you just lose...You just wish you could've did more,' Griffin said.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn told CBS: 'I think that the situation that led up to that man drowning his child is just about one of the most horrific things I've certainly encountered in my police career...'

'I just can't imagine what was in that man's head. I just can't imagine. I'll never be able to figure that out. It's just wretched,'

The baby, born on April 18, 2016, was named Sean A. Flowers III after his father.

The child's mother also had a daughter with Flowers Jr, who had disputed he was the biological father until a DNA test proved he was wrong, the Washington Post reported.

He was granted joint custody with the mother, who later filed a restraining order against him with allegations of domestic abuse.

A judge denied his request to clear his criminal record after he said he had difficulty providing for his family.

Flowers was due to pay $62.50 in child support each week starting Monday, marking a bump from the $20 he was previously required to contribute.

Bastard, it is a shame that when they tazed him, they didn't electrocute him and save a whole bunch of money and time.

I hope this is a DP case, if not then LWOP and dumping him in general population where they will deal with his kind within a few days.
I hope the rest of his miserable life is agonizing and short.

Has the word "only" been covered here? Is "only" like the word "just"?

stepped out
stepped out is awkward. You "step out" for a moment, i.e., the house, the office. You "step out" of bounds. You sit in a car, so you "get out" of a car.
the father doesn't say from where he stepped out.

grab her some water
you grab a burger on the way, you grab somebody, does he mean "get her" some water

He stepped out and then he came back out
neither "outs" have locations

diaper
there was mention of a diaper in DeOrr's missing case. The mention of diaper makes me think of the nether regions/out of bounds.
is the mentioning of diaper of particular importance in SA, like bed, water, doors, lights? To me changing a diaper exposes a very private and vulnerable part of a trusting, defenceless and dependent, baby.

Nearly 20 years after his sister was murdered, JonBenet Ramsey’s brother will speak publicly for the first time about the unsolved event that has gripped America.

Burke Ramsey, 29, will appear in a special three-part season premiere on Dr. Phil starting Monday, September 12, about the case that made headlines around the world.

During the series, he will reveal never-before-heard details about the case, according to the show.

His pageant star sister, then 6, vanished on Christmas Day 1996. Burke was 9 at the time.

JonBenet's body was found the next day in the basement of her family's home, just a day after she was reported missing. She had been beaten and strangled on December 26, 1996, hours after her family reported her missing on Christmas Day.

In 2008, JonBenet’s parents, John and Patsy, were cleared as suspects in their daughter’s death. At the time, Patsy had been dead for 2 years after a battle with ovarian cancer.

Friends, is it just me or is something off in the statements of this mother whose child was the victim of a child pornography predator at a San Antonio daycare? http://foxsanantonio.com/news/local/daycare-worker-arrested-on-child-pornography-charges

I'm thinking the statements may not be reported exactly or may be broken up or something but they seem unexpected to me in some ways. Here are a few of her statements from the article:

“I’m just so disgusted,” the mother of the alleged victim says.

"I actually had no idea whatsoever until the FBI showed up at my house,” the mother says.

"He should stay in jail forever,” the mother says. “I mean, because there were other kids involved. This wasn't just my son."

"Disgust" doesn't seem very strong for the situation. This is a 4 year old boy that this daycare worker was preying on to make child porn.

She "actually" had "no idea" "whatsoever" this kind of seems like a red flag?

She doesn't think her own child alone is worthy of putting this predator behind bars forever?

Maybe I'm getting too sensitive about peoples' statements? Anyone else have any thoughts on this one? It just seems a little off to me.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: A foreign-policy expert told me Trump asked 'why can't we use' nukes

http://www.businessinsider.com/joe-scarborough-donald-trump-nuclear-weapons-2016-8

Scarborough: What concerns you most about Donald Trump?

Hayden: (opens closes mouth a couple of times) How erratic uh, he is. Joe, uh, I can argue about this position or that position. I do that with the current president. Uh, but, but-he’s inconsistent. And when you’re the head of a global super power, inconsistency, unpredictability, uh, those, those are dangerous things. They, they, they frighten your friends, and they temp your enemies. And, and so I would be very, very concerned.

General Hayden, Hal Ford. Very, very quickly: Who, amongst your peers, uh that you respect greatly, whether they think like you or not think like you did you know that's advising, uh, Mr. Trump.

Hayden: No one.

Scarborough: That’s a good answer. Um, I’m, um, uh, I haft follow-up with that, within, I’ll be very careful here. Several months ago, um, uh, a foreign policy expert on an international level, went to advise Donald Trump, and three times he asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked, at one point if we have them, why can’t we use them. That’s

?: Oh wow,

Scarborough: one of the reasons why he has, he just doesn’t have foreign policy experts around him.

?: Trump, Trump asked three times?

Scarborough: Three times in an hour briefing why can’t we use nuclear weapons.

?: With that…

Mika Brzezinski: Be care America! And be careful Republican leaders. Your party is blowing up. Just (inaudible)

Scarborough: So General Hayden, um, I wanna ask uhhhhhh, o-o-o-one more time, an, a-a-a, if, and it may be classified, but, th-the steps, Donald Trump decides to use a nuclear weapon, uh, e-e--e, what is the time frame between his decision and when the nuclear weapons are launched.

Hayden: Joe, it’s, it's scenario dependent, but the system is designed for speed and decisiveness. It's-it’s not designed to debate the decision.

_____________

I call you-know-what. First, DT was running primaries, he didn't have access to anything. Secondly, Scarborough isn't even second-hand "in the know". How would he know who DT was meeting with, for how long, and what was discussed/what DT asked.

The Democrats are showing their desperation. Trotting Obama out and about to fear monger and troll for votes. Now this.

*****

What strikes me is the casual way he spoke to the police dispatcher

Caller: Oh yes can i please get an officer. I don't even know where i am. My childs been taken

Order is important. First he casually asks for an officer and then offers up that he doesn't even know where he is. Did anyone ask him? And last he said "my childs been taken". The "child" was not his first concern.

When you called for the ambulance for your mom, you included all "We need an ambulance" and is appropriate. You were not alone. You didn't say "I need help". You told them exactly what was needed. I think Peter explains it that if someone pleads for help for themself "I need help" when they are not the injured party, is a flag. And if my daughter or son were missing, I would not casually ask for a police officer. I would be screaming into the phone that my daughter is gone. That would be the first words out of my mouth. Not "Oh hello can I speak with a police officer" He does not let the dispatcher know what the emergency is, immediately. Not until his 3rd sentence does he say his child is missing.

Peter will be able to answer this much more clearly. :)

BOSTON LADY said...

One more comment. I just realized that he spoke in the negative with "I don't even know where I am" So not only did he offer information that was not asked for, he then framed it in the negative . That is another flag.

I have given this to Peter but I know he is a busy man so I thought I'd put it here to for any of you that would like to try your hand at SA.

Some of you may know that recently my nephews fiancee was kidnapped and murdered. As more details come out, LE thinks he is a serial killer and has been active for about 30 years. After recovering Sierah's body they discovered on his rural property's barn..a hidden room with a freezer lined with carpet secured from the outside with a ratchet strap..blood on walls and in freezer and implements of torture and restraints. In his truck they recovered handcuffs, mace, ski mask, duct tape, plastic sheeting, and other items.

In 1990, he was convicted of abduction. He bumped a girl on a bike in his truck and under the guise of helping her..whacked her over the head (causing skull fracture) dragged her to his truck, used a weapon, threatened to kill her, cut her, and attempted to handcuff her to his steering wheel. Someone approached..he got away. This was in a rural area..corn was high.
2016..Sierah is on her bike, corn was high, she was kidnapped.

The following link will take you to his statement/letter he wrote to the judge in an effort to obtain "shock" parole. It is a virtually full of SA usefullness. Even with my small knowledge..it's amazing what I gleaned. If any of you have time..I would be interested in your thoughts. Scroll down thru all other pages until you get to his statement.

I can't help but feel that if Peter was given a chance to interview him all those years ago..he would have remained in prison as the dangerous psychopath he is and Sierah and as of now..untold others..would still be alive.

Lynda, I'm so sorry to hear of Sierah's tragic murder. Please accept my sympathy.

Thank you for the link. I read through Worley's statement. I agree, there is a lot of stuff in it! I'm a novice, but some things even stood out to me as I read through it. Such as the way Worsley used "awful"/"awfully".

When I hear/read "an awful lot" it's usually in regards to "being through an awful lot". It has a negative connotation. But Worsley was using it to describe something he wanted to appear "positive". Even if some of the training was challenging, he attempted to demonstrate his motivation in a positive light. So I found the use of "awful" unexpected:

"I have applied myself and learned an awful lot"

Contrary to what he wrote in his letter to the judge, the word "awful" used to describe the amount he learned made me think that whatever studies Worsley pursued was simply to appear motivated to better himself and to make himself look good to the Parole Board. When I went back into the statement a second time, I noted the times he used, awful(ly). It was when he was describing the heat on the day the known victim escaped:

1. After listening to XXXXXX tell me that this accident was my fault, and after she had already tried to leave the scene of the accident once, my mind was now set on not letting her leave. It was awfully hot outside (100o+) and both her and myself were getting pretty upset.

2. Then because it was so awfully hot out-side (100o+) they put me in a patrol car so I could sit in the air conditioning.

Based on his language, I think using "an awful lot" to describe the amount of training he took was seepage.

Further to this, I also noted the information Worsley, *himself* redacted when attaching reports to his statement/letter to the judge. Except, he chose to leave in the mention of what was "normal". Specifically:

[snip]
Mental Health (Cont’d)

According to Bob Hausch of CD and TC, the defendant’s MMPI test results were valid and within normal ranges. (part Worsley redacted—>) Mr. Hausch stated that the defendant has a personality disorder, characterized by narcissistic antisocial and subtle inadequacy traits. Further the CD and TC (illegible) not feel as though the defendant would be amenable to treatment services as it was believed he would never fully admit his true intentions or accept guilt in the present offence. So at this point in time I am physically trying to keep XXXXXX from leaving the scene of the ancient. And this is only because I had been provoked into doing so. Between it being 100o+ outside, and XXXXX repeatedly blaming me for being at fault for the accident, and having all of the job pressure on me, and all of the worry about losing the use of my Mothers (sic) truck. I panicked. I ended up breaking the law - UNKNOWINGLY!

I did not have time to think straight. I never hit or kicked or threatened her or anything of that sort. …

After holding onto XXXXXX’s am for a short period of time, I realized that it was quite difficult to hang onto her. She was dead-set on leaving. And I was not going to just let go and allow her to leave after everything that that (sic) had happened. I did not want to be blamed for something I had not caused.

Less than 10 minutes earlier, just before I left (redacted) home. (Redacted) pointed out that I had a pair of handcuffs in my Mothers (sic) truck.

I had left (redacted) home and traveled about 2 miles and got into this accident, and now I was trying to prevent XXXXXX from leaving the scene of this accident. At this point in time I remember the handcuffs, and thought of using them to prevent XXXXXX from leaving. ….

"I had left (redacted) home and traveled about 2 miles and got into this accident"

To me, the above sentence sounds intentional the way he's written it. He didn't get into "an" accident. He got into "this" accident, implying there is at least another accident. "This accident" is repeated and, imo, is extra wording/unnecessary at the end of the sentence, making "this accident" sensitive.

Note the negation, 'so', because', 'And' (missing information)

XXXXXX was totally quiet and did not say a word as I spoke. She had guilt all over her face. She was not crying or hysterical or anything She was completely quiet! And she looked 100% physically OK.

I thought my actions were justified but I wondered if I had somehow possibly broken the law with my actions? I had NO IDEA that what I had done was a serious felony ! ! ! I also felt at that time that my actions had been necessary when all of this had occured. (sic)
_______

Disparaging the victim. (This is the only place.)

100% (physically) OK, but what about emotionally (note negation)

He says that she was essentially calm. In another part of the statement/letter to the judge he says she was "mad, mad as hell". However, when the ambulance arrived at the scene and she was asked to ID Worsley she was hysterical.

"somehow possibly" and "no idea" weakens whether he knew he broke the law.

Nic said...

XXXXX was not crying or hysterical when she left the scene of the accident. She was only mad, MAD AS HELL. XXXXX must have something wrong her, some sort of problem? She could not remember what I even looked like - BUT SHE “AMAZINGLY” IS SOMEHOW ABLE TO REMEMBER ALL KINDS OF TERRIBLE SHIT THAT I SUPPOSEDLY HAD DONE - OR WAS TRYING - OR WAS GOING TO DO TO HER. [RIGHT]

______________

Disparaging the victim.

Caps are also bolded by author. (My) bold emphasis is actually underlined in the letter but I don't have the capability to replicate underline.

“Right” is capped, bolded with a square drawn around it by Worsley.

IMO, this is an interesting way to frame what "I" (Worsley) supposedly had done, etc., to her.

Nic said...

I think what apparently had the police (confused, baffled, or surprised) is the fact that they were on the look-out for a man who had just tried to kidnap and/or kill some woman along a road. But when they finally arrived at the scene (I had waited by myself at the scene “without leaving” for almost 30 minutes) they found “ME” patiently waiting. The police couldn’t believe that I was still at the scene of the “alleged attack”…

___________

IMO, this looks like an embedded confession, i.e., "they found me"/"I was still at the scene" after describing what the police were on the look-out for.

What I post is my opinion based on my application of statement analysis principals I am learning.

Nic said...

Lastly:

Also, her lie if believed may make it look like I hit her with evil intent.

____________

IMO, this also looks like an embedded confession.

What I post is my opinion based on my application of statement analysis principals I am learning.

Nic said...

I shouldn't have said "Lastly", haha... something that struck me when I was reading the letter is that Worsley mostly refers to the truck he was driving throughout the letter as "his mothers" (sic). In fact he injects his mother quite a bit throughout the letter.

"Mother" is repeated many times! I think this is significant and a highly sensitive topic.

Why does Davey say of the thugs "after they left (Blackburn residence)" they parked the car on his friend's street?

Oftentimes the events immediately following the word "left" are omitted in a perpetrator's statement and oftentimes it is during this time period that a crime was committed.

What happened after the thugs "left"? Is this when Davey "pulled the trigger on her"?

Michelle said...

Davey shot her after the thugs "left" didnt he? He wasnt really sitting in his car all that time out front was he?
The thugs bound her with duct tape, left
and then Davey came in and shot her.

33:10 "the the lord spoke to my heart and said, “Hey Davey, what if Larry Taylor" - who’s the guy that actually pulled the trigger on Amanda - "What if Larry Taylor had had this, when he was twelve years old?”

I'm obviously tired. I thought 33:10 was a psalm, HA!.... which didn't make sense to me when I googled it. So I copied "the lord spoke to my heart..." and interestingly, this is what came up:

Psalm 36:1 For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Lynda, I just now had time to begin looking at the parole letter from the perpetrator seeking "shock parole".

The beginning of the letter, there is a LOT of disparaging of the victim and a complete reversal of reality where he paints the victim as the liar and abuser of justice and he as the innocent victim. There is a lot of anger in his words, extreme entitlement, and what I would classify as mockery of the victim.

Moving along further, this section jumped out at me as HIGHLY disturbing as it contains leakage of his serial killing activities of which the court was unaware.

Here is the section which, if the judge were familiar with SA, would have greatly concerned him:

"Judge Doneghy, so now look what my family and I ·hve to endure. Ny 71 year

old Mother now lives basically "day to day" and full of dread because of her

current financial situation. Plus she is worr1ed sick about me being in prison.

My Mother lives each day with a great amount of worry and stress in her. And

I know it is taking its toll on her. STRESS KILI.S !"

He uses the words "endure", "full of dread", "KILLS" in a all caps and with an unusual typo where he has substituted an "I" for the "L" and then put a period between the "I" and the "S". Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but possibly some internal struggle where he does not want to type the word, therefore the word gets broken up, as he may unconsciously realize it reveals something of his activities as a serial killer?

"I am currently looking at being smolc.ed by the Prison Parole Board this coming

April 1993. Hy very unjust P.S.I. Report will undoubtedly bury me in prison for

who !<nows how much longer ? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 more years ? Is this fair, is this true" justice ? I am now well into my 3rd year of incarceration.

He uses the word "bury" to describe being locked in prison which is an unusual way of describing incarceration and something that would have VERY concerning to me if I had been the judge because it is leakage of him killing/burying someone in my opinion.

(Will look through rest of the letter)

justice ? I am now well into my 3rd year of incarceration.

It is not letting me copy and paste further down the document. However, it struck me as very odd how he writes to the judge, saying that at the accident, he 'should have used 2 units of emotion but he used 10 units of emotion"...this is embedded within a lot of talk about not wanting to let his mother down with the lawn business she helped him get. Something tells me this guy's mother used that phrase when talking to him as a child and probably still used it with him...probably only the tip of the iceberg of some of the bizarre things she said to him. Like I bet she said/says things to him like "Now, now, you're using 5 units of emotions when you should only be using 2 units." Both are probably psycho. I have a feeling the guy's got serious psych/emotional problems.

re: August 5, 2016 at 12:29 AM
I am wondering if JDW talking about "units of emotion" refers to the Subjective units of the distress scale which is sometimes used in cognitive-behavioral treatment. The individual self assesses where they are on the scale of 0 to 10 for measuring the subjective intensity of disturbance or distress currently experienced by an individual. He possibly was exposed to this scale in prison classes or therapy and was trying to impress the judge with how much he has learned and that he now has a handle on his emotions and therefor should be let out of prison. IMO, his family probably does not talk much about feelings and I think you are right, he may not be the only one with serious psych/emotional problems.

The words I googled weren't random. I cut and paste DB's own words, in part, into Google's search engine. Although, I do believe DB is fearless. On every level.

@ Michelle, that's interesting when I hear "units" in the form of measurement, I either think of blood or drugs.

Great pic up and I bet that is exactly what he was talking about. He uses the lingo.
I just found ,so much victim blaming and he is literally OBSESSED with his LAWN BUSINESS, FINANCES, HIS DAMN TRUCK, and HIS MOTHER.

Good insight Michelle. I also looked at that and immediately thought, well he's telling us he kills to relieve stress and it sounds like he is under a lot of STRESS. The word bury is also a good pick up. He told the therapist at the time that he "learned" from his kidnappings and he was going to bury the next one" The fact that he actually did get early release after this tirade where he calls the judge "BLIND" and stupid is chilling. He sounds unraveled. There is so much emphasis put on money and his lawn business and his truck and that was over 25 years ago! God only knows what this man has done.

Warrants and evidence lists have hit the net on Sierah's case. He had constructed a "seat" inside this freezer lined with carpet that was streaked in blood. In a large green crate they found wrapped lunch meat, straws, adult diapers, handcuffs, a hood and towels. These items were all in his barn in the green crate. Numerous video cameras and self-burned CD's. He kept them and he filmed them. How many? This is the stuff of nightmares and his letter to the judge all those years ago SHOWED he was a violent predator. All those poor women we don't even know about. They also found what could be described as "trophies". A shoe charm, necklaces, high school blazoned ear muffs, different sizes and pairs of underwear, a jacket, sports bra. *shake my head* unbelievable that he was let out early and gone undetected so long.

Thanks so much Nic and Michelle! I also noted that even tho he had "never been on Obee road before" he drew a detailed map of the area and "accident". Just so many clues and markers in his statement.

Lynda, That is beyond demented...the evidence they found on the guy's property. I cant even fathom why he was given parole when he blatantly insults the judge repeatedly in his letter along with showing NO empathy for the victim. He minimizes the assault to the point where he says "it just needed a band-aid". What an asshole!!!! That showed he had taken zero responsibility and had zero compassion for the victim. That right there should have been VERY ALARMING; he was literally telling the judge that his brutal assault was nothing more than a scratch that needed a "bandaid"...yet he KNEW it was not...I would say he has profound empathy deficits. Very horrifying and Im so sorry he was let out.

OT

I wish that SA became so commonplace that all LE was trained to utilize. All medical/psych health professionals in particular. Think of the possibilities if someone that was trained could have read this letter he wrote and given an accurate analysis of this guys potential for violence.

Michelle..while he obviously has empathy deficits, he pretends to have many for himself and his mother. His poor mother. Poor poor me.

To tell a judge "WE want to know what you are THINKING to keep me in jail..to believe this woman over me" ugh.

To date..there is no record of him or admission by him that he has ever had a "relationship" with a woman.

Michelle said...

Lynda, Excellently stated. It is really a misnomer to say, as I did, that even these extreme psychos have "empathy deficits", because they DO know what their victims are feeling...he knows when he throws his victims in his torture dungeon they are feeling extreme anguish. They just dont care...they consider their victims "worthless" and dehumanize them, but at the same time they do have LOTS of compassion for THEMSELVES!!! And this guy seems to have lots of compassion for his mother...it was startling how he conveyed to the judge how her feelings were more important than the victim's, society, the judge's (he insulted judge repeatedly), justice, etc. He probably has never had a relationship with a woman bc he's afraid of mother's "punishment", combined with his Mommy will probably act like she's going to die if he leaves her. Not to in any way shift blame for his heinous behavior that he is ENTIRELY responsible for, I just think it's safe to say that his Mommy is probably very fucked up also. He should have never have been let out of jail!
