Fake Hate Analyzed: Adam Saleh Kicked Off Plane for Speaking Arabic

A youtube "prankster" sought publicity claiming he was thrown off a Delta flight for speaking Arabic.

When one speaks, even for another, the truth has its way of getting out.

Saleh claimed that he was speaking on a phone to his mother, in Arabic, and this 'frightened' passengers ("Islamophobia") into having him removed.

Note that USA reports that Saleh has a "spokesman" who spoke to them.

Whether the spokesman is a different person than Saleh or Saleh himself matters not; we analyze the statement itself.

A spokesperson for Saleh told USA TODAY that the incident was not a prank.

He said the YouTuber was traveling from Heathrow Airport back to New York City after completing the first half of his world tour when the incident occurred.

"Adam made a phone call to his mother to let her know that he will be home in the next 7-8 hours after his flight and because Adam's mum only speaks Arabic, he was speaking to her in his language.  Unfortunately this caused a problem amongst other passengers in the airline who got angry and started abusing him swearing and saying that they felt threatened."

Delta gave a different account.

More than 20 passengers filed complaints about the screaming Saleh and his friends were doing:

"Based on the information collected to date, it appears the customers who were removed sought to disrupt the cabin with provocative behavior, including shouting.  This type of conduct is not welcome on any Delta flight. While one, according to media reports, is a known prankster who was video recorded and encouraged by his traveling companion, what is paramount to Delta is the safety and comfort of our passengers and employees. It is clear these individuals sought to violate that priority."

Go back to the spokesman's statement.

What do you see within it to help you understand what this subject, himself, believes?

Main stream media perpetuates the fake hate crimes promoted by CAIR, but when they are exposed, the media headlines are gone.

The media frequently reports that the young Muslim is "radicalized by the internet. "

This is as deceptive as "truck attacks Christmas shoppers."

It is as if the "internet" has a power all its own to "radicalize" young males, yet the only ones who are seemingly infected are...

already Muslims.

The internet is a means.

The radicalization is from a single source:  the koran.

Christmas 2016 Canterbury Cathedral Nativity Scene

Its incessant repetition with its violent, criminal ideology is combined with victim status mentality to enrage its victim.

Its claim of world conquest by coercion makes it the only ideology that claims to be a religion, that has both precept  (teaching) and precedent (history) of successfully taught and executed violence.

Peter, sort of related to this post - can the McCann statements, even as presented more like a report by the interpreter, be of use?

1/3

I would think not as the actual wording is not there, and maybe what is a response to a question is not always clear, how much is free-editing, what were the questions, is there contamination, etc.

Would you find that they can or can't be used, and please explain why either way?

"To" and "because," need to persuade and justify the action. The problem was "amongst the other passengers," the implication being that Saleh was ganged up on by angry and abusive bystanders for no reason. His mum only speaks Arabic yet it is "his" language. Taking ownership of Arabic as *his* language says a great deal regarding Mr. Saleh's self-perception and cultural identity. The anger and abuse is described as other passengers saying they felt threatened, which tells us that he views any sort of dissent regarding his own cultural norms as a violent attack no matter how innocuous that dissent is.

Saleh's quote from the article linked above:

"Delta has been called out previously for racial matters. What they did was wrong and we deserve to speak up about this and not let this happen again."

We DESERVE to speak up about this.

Wow.

Many of them have been captured following their rampages. Boston marathon. Ft hood. Or identified by cowirkers and family. San bernardino. Orlando pulse. Many have been on radar for years. The true purpose of all electronic surveillance is to intercept criminal intention. Not aimless snooping. Regarding the isis phenomenon you are perceptive. War has been outsourced to seasoned mercenary groups. The west hires them to for regime change. No more US troops draping the US flag on Saddam statues b4 pulling it down while the whole world watches. Cannot completely control their monsters once unleashed. And add in appalling miscalculations like bengazi. Invasions should expect fierce resistance. Radicalization can occur via satellite tv. They view programming originating from their homeland. Facebook youtube & google are being sued by victims and family of Orlando shooter. For providing material support for terrorim.

Part 1 of 2

Essentially, the question is, "Why is Adam speaking in Arabic on his cell phone, on a transatlantic flight"? The answer should be "Because Adam's mother only speaks Arabic." (straightforward, simple answer) if that is the truth. Instead, we're told why Adam called his mother.

Next Question: Why does Adam Saleh need a spokesman? Why isn't he speaking for himself, as it was his personal experience? He had no problem immediately using social media to tweet about the situation from the aisle...

-"(Adam Saleh's tweet about the incident (which included a video of him complaining in the aisle)" http://fortune.com/2016/12/21/youtube-adam-saleh-delta-air-lines/

Follow the Verb Tenses- "Adam made (appropriately past tense) a phone call to his mother to let her know that he will be (unexpected future tense- should be "would be") home in the next 7-8 hours after his flight and because Adam's mum only speaks Arabic, he was speaking to her in his language.

Moving on- Why is he calling his mother/mum during the flight to let her know "he will be home 7-8 hours after his flight"? What does that have to do with why Adam is speaking Arabic? Nothing. But, it's important to our spokesman because he tells us this first (order speaks to priority). While the act of calling mother is seemingly innocent (implying imagery of a concerned mother), the excuse for calling is illogical and flimsy. [Just an aside: Invoking mother/mum in this instance should be right up there following invoking deity. Waiting for apple pie to follow. ;)]

Next up- Calling during the flight how? Delta Airlines specifically prohibits making in-flight cell phone calls (http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/12/feds-might-allow-in-flight-cell-phone-calls-on-airlines.html). So, was Adam using the in-flight telephone or his personal cell phone? Missing information.

Additionally, in this statement, the mother began as his "mother" when Adam was making the call, but became his "mum" when Adam began speaking Arabic. Why? It is incongruent (out of place, incompatible) that the spokesman said Adam's "mum" "speaks only Arabic". "Mum" is British/Australian for Mother/Mom- not exactly Arabic.

Follow the pronouns- "...because Adam's mum only speaks Arabic, he was speaking to her in his language. If it is her only language and it is his language, and they are speaking it to each other, it should be "their" language (shared language=shared pronoun, not singular possessive "his"). Arabic is not the mother's "only" language (she may not speak Arabic at all).

Part 2 of 2

Word Usage- "Unfortunately this ("this" is close to oneself, "that" shows distance from oneself) caused a problem amongst (typically British usage) other (distancing) passengers in the airline (not "on the plane")who got angry and started abusing(unusual word choice, more British expression, scaring other passengers is abusive) him swearing and saying that they felt threatened."

Finally, he's known for pranking airlines specifically. Heathrow Airport (London, England) has had numerous bomb/security threats. After completing the first half of a world tour, he's traveling from Heathrow Airport back to New York City. He's been through numerous security checkpoints by this point globally and knows security is on high alert (heavy Christmas air traffic=heavy security). Then, there's this ...

"He told the Guardian that he had engaged in a short phone call with his mother in Arabic, then spoke to his friend in both Arabic and English..." (http://fortune.com/2016/12/21/youtube-adam-saleh-delta-air-lines/). Adam had no need to converse with the friend in Arabic, as the friend clearly understood English per the conversation.

No wonder Delta after thoroughly investigating, labelled his behavior "provocative".

**Not Statement Analysis, but an added gem: "And he [Adam Saleh] admitted to exaggerating a video dealing with the way New York police responded to Muslim men arguing on the street depending on their clothing." http://fortune.com/2016/12/21/youtube-adam-saleh-delta-air-lines/

For what it's worth, I seriously doubt it was his mother or mum that he called.

Another little gem: Adam Selah attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice

More on his New York Police video:

"A staged video titled "Racial Profiling Experiment'" uploaded on Saleh's YouTube channel in October 2014 became viral around the world. In the video Saleh and Sheikh Akbar argued with each other in front of a police officer wearing western outfits but the cop ignored them. Few minutes later they fight again while dressed in Muslim clothes but this time the cop stops them and behaves rudely with them. The video received more than 200,000 views on YouTube and it was also picked up by media. Public reaction to the video was against the police officer. Later Saleh admitted that the video was staged to recreate "previous events that occurred".

Again, while not Statement Analysis, interesting and relevant nonetheless (particularly given the British verbage of the spokesman and likely speaks to the spokesman use of "this caused a problem"-the spokesman being close to Adam's actions).

From The Daily Mail Dec. 19, 2105

"His English manager, Naz Rahman..."
"Naz Rahman, Adam Saleh’s manager..."
"Adam and I are sincere about the message to Muslims like us to reject all forms of violence. It’s something we believe is very important."

Does anyone else (like me) think that bho's ascendancy to our presidency has opened
the door to all manner of like minded muslim sympathizers free to make fools of the
rest of us?

Adam Saleh was born in Brooklyn NY. He's 23 years old. Are we to believe his mother only speaks arabic after 23 years ?? I don't know if his parents were in the USA before his birth which is why I'm only basing this on 23 years.

Adam's statement during his rant was that he would be going straight to his lawyer's office when the flight landed. That seems to be what is driving his actions.
