Did This Really Happen?

What does the analysis show?

Please consider the use of emoji as an expression of emotion.  Also note that the author uses female name and photo.

If you believe it deceptive, you must give reasons:  specific points to follow.  If your analysis is in error, the error can be traced and corrected.

I say it happened, and exactly as they said. The problem is, they are leaving information out. I think they incited the fight. That's the part they are leaving out. What happened between the time they came across the Trump chanters and the part where Collin's face got really injured. They left out the part about how they must have confronted these people on purpose. There is so much sensitivity in the narrative that the writer is clearly trying to avoid the extra questions. Good for the diverse group of Trump supporters! :)

I have not seen the original post with the writer's name or picture.
I am going only on what Peter has posted

At the intersection of Walker street as we were heading out chanting and having fun my comrades and I decided to head out to grab some food after the party at Decolonize This Place;
suddenly 4-5 Trump supporters (3hefty/built white guys and one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy shocking) approached us and started chanting ,"Trump Trump Trump" "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets and calling us communists & faggots.
Collin's face was really injured bleeding , Peter's nose was bleeding non stop, Connar's face was swollen and his jaw was injured, & Christian was limping due to his knee injury as he fought these bigots back.

At the intersection of Walker street as we were heading out chanting and having fun my comrades and I decided to head out to grab some food after the party at Decolonize This Place;

Heading out from where?
Why were they chanting?
What were they chanting?
To is used to explain why something happened.
It answers an unasked question which makes it sensitive.
Why did you decide to head out?
The decision to head out to grab some food after a party at Decolonize This Place
What kind of party was it that the decided to grab some food afterwards?
The party not a party?
The use of comrades is an interesting term to use, was this political chanting?
Why comrades and not friends which would be more expected?
We have the words, chanting, comrades, having fun, Decolonize This Place all of which would point to a group of people with an agenda, perhaps having a mini protest march.
We are not told what they were chanting, was it provocative, aimed at a specific person or group with the intent of provocation?
Note the use of the pronoun we in relation to chanting and having fun which then changes to comrades and I
What prompts the change?
Decolonize This Place; is capitalized and introduced fully in name making it important to the writer.

Does the location of the part have any bearing in relation to the chanting and having fun?
suddenly 4-5 Trump supporters (3hefty/built white guys and one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy shocking) approached us and started chanting ,"Trump Trump Trump" "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets and calling us
Suddenly indicates a temporal lacuna, what happened between them chanting and having fun and having 4-5 Trump supporters (3hefty/built white guys and one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy shocking) approaching them
The writer speaks of 4-5 trump supporters but only describes 4 so where is the possible 5th supporter?
one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy shocking) Why is this shocking?
This points back at the comrades and i chanting and having fun and them being part of an organisation probably with some political or social/community agenda.
That a one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy is shocking would suggest the group has an agenda in relation to race, nationality possibly even sexual orientation, hence the shock that a brown person would be with the alleged "trump supporters"
started chanting ,"Trump Trump Trump" "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets and calling us communists & faggots
This sounds more like the original group was having some sort of protest march and got the response they wanted according to the writer.
They set out to provoke and achieved their aim with intent to get something in return.
This would suggest they were looking for conflict in order to promote their beliefs, to get publicity and possibly even donations via a gofundme as is the norm these days.
Note the writer provides two hot topics, Trump and Blue Lives Matter
This would suggest the writer is black.
The writer tells us the group of 4 showed the chanting group their Blue Lives Matter bracelets
Why would they do that?
Was it deliberate as in baring their wrists and pointing out the bracelets?
Was it done as a result of an action of some other kind being done and the bracelets becoming briefly visible?
Were they dressed in a way that the bracelets were on view?
It seems strange to me that someone would come up to me in a provocative manner and reveal their wrist with a plastic bracelet on it and then say "This is a (Insert support group here) braclet or wristband.
Why say bracelet which would indicate some type of jewelry rather that a wristband which comes in a huge range of colors and messages for whichever group sold them.
The use of bracelet would perhaps lead me to wonder if the writer was a female?
communists & faggots
This phrase however could suggest the writer to be male and, since the word faggots is introduced gay.
Given the information that communists & faggots was being chanted at the writer's group this would further indicate a political march of some king, perhaps relating to clinton and some LGBT agenda.
The clothing worn by the group could also lead to identifying them as being gay.
Faggots is an insult aimed at men, not women which again would point to the writer possibly being male and i suspect, young.

Collin's face was really injured bleeding , Peter's nose was bleeding non stop, Connar's face was swollen and his jaw was injured, & Christian was limping due to his knee injury as he fought these bigots back.
We now have a huge temporal lacuna.
We have gone from the group of four men chanting and showing their bracelets to three of the writers group having facial injuries and one limping due to an injured knee.
Christian was limping due to his knee injury as he fought these bigots back
Was he limping prior to the confrontation from an earlier injury?
The limping is sensitive to the writer.
Why would it be sensitive to the writer?
Would someone ask why Christian was limping?
Did he have no visible injuries perhaps?
Where is the fight that seemed to have occurred?
Were the words and bracelets so powerful as to cause injury to anyone in the immediate area?
We have no mention of the group of 4 fighting, only the writers group fighting?
Note the introduction of the word bigots
These is close, those is distant
The writer places himself close to the bigots.
Is this closeness due to the alleged confrontation and fight or is it in relation to his own group with its agenda?
Why these bigots and not those bigots?
Is the group bigoted against those who disagree with themj, Trump supporters, law enforcement, others?

We had no time to film this racist and disgusting attack because some of us were too busy trying to pull Trump supporters off of Collin and the rest of the comrades.
The writers answers an unasked question.
This makes it sensitive.
Given the writer and the group werechanting and having fun it would imply some kind of protest was going on, since they were also heading out to grab some food after a party.
Virtually everyone carries a cellphone and it is easy to film some event or take pictures.
I would ask, given they were chanting and having fun after the party why was no one filming themselves or the group as would be expected.
Stopping for selfies. filming something interesting or exciting, especially in this case they were chanting and having fun.
I would expect video of the grioup as they could use it to promote their agenda, posting it on social media, look at what we wered doing whichever night after the party.
Because is used to explain why something happened/didn;t happen.
Here, they were pulling Trump supporters off Collin and the rest of the comrades which is why there is no film evidence of the fight which didn't happen as the writer did not mention it at the start of the alleged confrontation.
There was a temporal lacuna where the fight should have occurred according to the subject.
racist and disgusting attack
Where did racism come from?
There were three white men and a small brown man apparantly confronting the writer's chanting and having fun group.
Is the racism because of the brown man?
What if there was no group of Trump and blue lives matter supporters?
What if there was a group but it was the chnating group that did the attacking?
Is the racism because the writer was shocked at a brown man being with white men?
Who is the we trying to Trump supporters off of Collin and the rest of the comrades.?
How many Trump supporters are there now since they are trying to pull them off Collin and the rest of the comrades, implying that perhaps there are now more than four?
the comrades.?
Not my or our comrades which would show possession, unity shared cooperatiion?
Why the need to distance themself from the comrades?
Again the use of the wordcomrade which speaks to politics, agendas.
Comrade is a term often associated with communism, socialism, leftist leanings, revolutionaries, perhaps groups or organizations where it is used to denote equality amongst all members with reference to gender etc.
I would wonder if the writer is perhaps new to the group and keen?

No words can describe how hostile many of us were last night after being slammed against the wall and Clair getting pushed to the ground as we were trying to De-escalate this bs (She had him in a head lock to try to stop him).
No words can describe yet the writer then describes the hostility many of them had.
Many of us shows unity, the writer including themselves in the feeling of hostility
Who was slammed against the wall?
The wall and not a wall?
Was there only one wall?
Clair getting pushed to the ground
This is the first female name to be introduced.
Since earlier the writer reports the group being called faggots which would apply to males, females have their own insult in relation to being gay.
Was this a mixed group with people having their own agendas, combining to form a chanting group
What was being seen or done that would cause the alleged Trump supporters to call the group such an insulting name?

we were trying to De-escalate this bs
Interesting that she uses demeaning terms yet minimizes bullshit to bs
Trying means to atempt, it doesn't mean the attempt was successful>
How can one de-escalate this bs whilst Clair at least was holding someone in a headlock.
To de-escalate a situation you back off and use your voice, you also call 911 in this case as people were being attacked.
However, since the writers speaks to the Trump supporters chanting "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets" would they not call 911 on principal after all LE are the bad guys.
It would perhaps also explain if/why there was no police report filed, no police called to break it up.
It would be an answer if they were asked why they didn't report it.
LE are the bad guys, the enemy, we want nothing to do with them, they would shoot us not the Trump supporting, blue lives matter bigots.

We retreated back to DTP for medical attention thank you to our comrade/medics who assisted us & everyone else who came out to assist the comrades
To retreat would imply a battle or organized confrontation had taken place.
Retreated Is a strange word to use in this situation.

If there were only four Trump supporters, how many were there in the writer's group?
We know there was Collin, Peter, Connar, Christian, Clair and the writer at least since the writer only reports those injured.
This makes six people that we know of against the 3 hefty/built white guys and one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy
Six against four in the writer's favor yet the writer then goes on to imply that there were many more because some of us were too busy trying to pull Trump supporters off of Collin and the rest of the comrades
Note again we have a name Collin and also the rest of the comrades
some of usagain points to a larger group if there was some of us and the rest of the comrades
What were the rest of the group doing if they weren't pulling Trump supporters off Collin and the rest of the comrades?

Why would they retreat back to Decolonize This Place (DTP for medical attention rather than go to a hospital given there were facial injuries on Collin Peter, Connar and Christian had a knee injury plus Clair had been pushed to the ground.
thank you to our comrade/medics who assisted us & everyone else who came out to assist the comrades.
If this was not planned and they were heading out for something to eat after the party why would there be comrade/medics to assist them plus everyone else (not comrades?) who came out to assist The comrades.
Again why the article the and not our or my comrades.
everyone else who came out to assist the comrades.
Did they come out to assist the comrades stand up against the four Trump and blue lives matter supporters?

F trump. POC , queer, Womxn, Indigenous , & human beings are not safe in these streets and we must fight back!
Another abbreviated word.
Why just the letter F and not the word given the writer has used demeaning and derogatory language to which fuck is mild.

The writer seems to be on every bandwagon going.
According to the writer POC , queer, Womxn, Indigenous are not human beings.
There arePOC, queer, Womxn, Indigenous and there are human beings
Order is important and here there is POC(persons of color) first followed by queer, Womxn, Indigenous
Note out of the four specific groups cited all are capitalized bar one.
Queer which is lower case.
Since the writer uses capitalization appropriately in the list, this would seem to be deliberate.
Using capital letters for names, titles etc denotes a form of respect, to use a lower case letter would be to deem then not worthy, less than.
Does the writer have less respect for Queers?
Queer was/is generally used to denote homosexuals although in these times is is used by activists to denote pretty much anything they want in relation to non heterosexuality.
Womxn is commonly used along with womyn “Womyn” and “womxn” are two of the most commonly used substitutes to avoid using the suffix “-men” at the end of the term, but others like “wimmin,” “wimyn,” and “womin” are also sometimes used
This would lead me to believe the writer is female and an activist

tania cadogan said...

we must fight back!
Is this leakage?
Was the chanting and having fun after a party in actuality a protest, a way to seek attention, something with ulterior motives?
What ulterior motives could there be?

Anti Trump for one.
The democrats, the left, the liberals, anyone with a political agenda is mightlily pissed that Trump won.
Trump is everything they hate and they are determined to do all they can to prevent him being officially elected by the electoral council as President.
He is someone who knows the real world, he is not a politician or a lawyer, he says it as it is and has said he will do many things to Make America great.
Hate crimes are now Trump supporters against everyone else.
Trump is the go to bad guy, it is all his fault, America is divided.
Never mind that Obama split America along racial lines with whites and cops being the bad guys who must be blamed for everything.
If you want attention for something bring Trump's name into it and you got it.

Blue Lives Matter for two.
The black lives matter supporters are enraged that people are saying cops lives matter as well.
Cops are the bad guys and deserve everything they get is their thinking and their language.
How dare cop supporters copycat the black lives matter agenda.

Claiming to be vicitms of a hate crimes gets the writer and her comrades attention in the media, social media, donations from the usually created gofundme.
Any attention is better than none and if it means faking a hate crime or leaving out the important (incriminating bits) then that is what they will do.
Anything to promote their agenda and force themselves and their beliefs on others.

The writer is female and black and young.
She is an activist probably on a range of areas, women's rights, black lives matter, LGBT.

There was a confrontation but not they way she has described.
Trump is being used as a pawn.

Fake
the past month and a half lots of people claim to be attacked by groups of white, young, drunk males chanting Trump. its all Hillary supporters who are angry she didn't get elected.
I voted for Trump, but I have not changed my behavior at all. I would not go out and commit crimes and then expect the president elect to come to my rescue. Thes fake crimes all seem to have the exact same perpetrator every time. It's almost too stupid to discuss

At the intersection of walker street - location is important to the subject.

as we were heading out chanting and having fun - what were 'we' chanting? What was fun about it?

My comrades and I - comrades brings to mind Russia and communism. Friends. The subject feels close to her comrades.

decided to head out to grab some food after the party at Decolonise This Place;- I'm confused about this part... I don't know where the subject and her comrades were leaving when they were at the intersection of Walker street? Had they already left the party at Decolonise This Place? We're they in their way to the party? Or is this story telling that's not in order? Did they HAVE a legitimate reason for being at that intersection?

suddenly 4-5 Trump supporters - suddenly could mean a temporal lacuna? Did the 4-5 Trump supporters just materialize out of thin air? And why the uncertainty about the number of such a small group of people?

(3 hefty/built white guys and one petit Brown Bengali/ or Indian guy shocking)- 3+1=4
Why would it be shocking? We take note of the number 3 in 3 white males.

approached us and started chanting "TrumpTrump Trump" "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets - so she and her comrades were probably not chanting the same things.

and calling us communists and factors (angry emojis)- subject reports verbal assault with specific terms that make the subject angry

Collins face was really injured bleeding, Peters nose was bleeding non-stop, Connars face was swollen and his jaw was injured, and Christian was limping due to his knee injury - a report of the alleged injuries to each person except the subject. Words of persuasion used (really, non stop). I also make note that the injuries just seem to happen. One sentence there's name calling and chanting and then a list if injuries. Christians knees was already injured.

as he fought these bigots back.- these means closeness, racial slur noted

We had no time to flim this racist and disgusting attack because some of us were to too busy trying to pull Trump supporters off of Collin and the rest of the comrades. - Collin is either very important to the subject or seen as the leader or was the one who threw the first punch and was getting the worst of it. Only some of them were trying to pull off trump supporters (change of language from these bigots). It's sensitive to the subject that we know there was no time for the people ((comrades) not helping pull Trump supporters of Collin and the okither comrades

No words can describe how hostile many of us were last night after being slammed against the wall - hostile is a stronger word than angry

and Claire getting pushed to the ground as we were trying to de-escalate this bs (she had him in a headlock to try to stop him) - 'this' indicates closeness. Getting pushed is present tense. Doesn't specify who Claire had in a head lock.

We retreated to DTP for medical attention thank you to our comrade/medics who assisted us and everyone else who came out to assist the comrades, F Trump, poc, queer, womxn, indigenous, and human beings are not safe in these streets and we must fight back.

Social justice warrior, communist sympathizer, at gifts I thought the subject was a woman but now I'm leaning more forwards maybe an effeminate male? I think deception has been indicated several times as the 'story' doesn't flow in a continuous manner. I think the subject and his/her comrades went to that intersection looking tto protest and cause trouble and MAYBE got their asses kicked but more likely they staged the whole thing to get attention, cause more division, and play the victim.
The whole statement was tedious to read and I felt like the subject was not truthful about the events.

Fake.
-He never commited himself to the claims or his own actions - didn't use Pronoun I. It seems the writer may not have even been present.
-I'm not sure why but his use of "comrades" bothers me.
-he speaks of his group leaving the club then goes right into describing injuries but doesn't claim who made them.
-probably not technically correct but emojis seem like another form of persuading. (Drama)
-It seems that he may be describing actual injuries to these people but maybe not from Trump supporters or not in this setting/time.
- the description/adjectives of the supposed attackers makes me think writer is female.

Wreyeter72 said...

What stands out to me is she says she and her friends were chanting to begin with. Then indicates the "trump supporters'" chanting was offensive to her group and kicked off the altercation. Sounds like a lack of tolerance to me, but I digress. The huge leap in time to someone having injuries is a big red flag. I agree with the commenter who said this story is all true, but the important bits - that probably place the instigation of a physical confrontation squarely in the lap of her and her "comrades" - are missing. I also agree it sounds like a female writing.

Just a few points. Most have been covered

"after the party"

Note the article "the" is used and not "a"

Pronouns like articles are 100% reliable"
"A" car sped past me at high speed. I turned the corner and "the" car was parked up. Once the car is introduced it becomes the definite article, "the." Here the "party" is not introduced first. If they haven;t talked previous about the "Party" then we are faced with possible deception. Did they go to "the party"?

"shocking" + emoticons
This maybe artificial emotional placement. If a certain amount of time has elapsed and they've had time to process what happened, then it's ok, if not, it's narrative building.

"approached us and started chanting"

Note they only approached and started. This is not to say they followed up. What interrupted them if anything?

"Collin's face was really injured bleeding , Peter's nose was bleeding non stop, Connar's face was swollen and his jaw was injured, & Christian
was limping due to his knee injury as he fought these bigots back."

Passive language. Passivity is used to conceal or hide identity. Whom made Peters nose bleed,? whom made connars face swollen and his jaw injured? Whom made Christian limp due to a knee injury?

These injuries may a have occurred at another time and place for what ever reason.

"many of us were last night after being slammed against the wall and Clair getting pushed to the ground as we were trying to De-escalate this bs"

Again passivity is employed, who "slammed" whom to the wall? Whom pushed Clair to the ground?

There is a mixture of truth and deception.

How many times did Trump supporters show up at Hillary events starting trouble? Oh yeah, zero I think.
How many times did Hillary people show up at Trump events, starting trouble, getting their butts kicked, then the news saying that the Trump people attacked these innocent people?
How many times do Trump supporters blcck interstate highways? Destroy and burn down their own neighborhoods? Have protests in cities cause someone is not GIVING them something?
Oh yeah, never!
http://www.wyff4.com/article/rev-franklin-graham-says-he-knows-why-trump-won-and-it-wasnt-russians/8515550
Franklin graham said Trumps election is Gods plan. I agree. He may be a nut, but he's better than the alternative.

The Russians didn't change the votes, didnt' hack the election, they exposed what the DNC and their candidate has done and said. Exposed what the CIA, FBI or who ever should be watching such things has been unable or unwilling to do. I personally appreciate it.

When I first read the narrative I pictured a gay male describing the events. They seemed so exaggerated at all times, I could literally hear his style. I think that there are gay males that in their attempts to come across as feminine, tend to exaggerate feminine ways. I think the use of emoji’s in this case was a need to be feminine and “emotional”.
The author did not tell us how the “attack” started. This is because he is concealing what happened. He was with four other males “Collin, Peter, Connar and Christian”, and one female “Clair”. That is a total of six people. They were attacked by 3 hefty white males and a petite brown Bengali. What was the need to describe the Bengali as "petite", and why "brown"? The use of “color” to describe a Bengali is interesting coming from a liberal.
How did Collin’s face get injured? The author didn’t tell us. He also didn’t tell us how Peter’s nose came to bleed or how Connar’s face got swollen and his jaw got injured. How did Christian limp? Did he fall or was he hit by the "biggots". Interestingly enough the only sentence where he stated that Christian fought these "biggots" back is the only one that has sensitivity by the use of “due” to explain why his knee got hurt yet he couldn't tell us how it got hurt.
Who did Clair have to hold in a “head lock” to try to stop “him”? This sentence came across as if Clair knew who she held in a "head lock". By using "him" he was trying to conceal the identity of who she held in a head lock. Had it been truthful, I would have described who she held in a headlock.
The only people that refer to each other as comrades are communists. The Trump supporters supposedly called them communists, yet he refers to his friends as comrades, not friends. Leakage? Perhaps these are a group of gay men that met at this place and decided to beat each other up and accuse Trump supporters of the attack in a fake hate scheme. That would make them "comrades" of sorts fighting for a cause. Literally! But they are not friends.
The more I read this the more I think that they made this up. Since things don't surface out of a vacuum. I suspect they may have crossed paths with the white males and "petite brown Bengali".
His first sentence indicated that something “started”, but he never finished it. He spoke in present tense language thereby it wasn’t coming from experiential memory. There was a lot of deception throughout.

At the intersection of Walker street as we were heading out chanting and having fun my comrades and I decided to head out to grab some food after the party at Decolonize This Place;
Where someone starts is important. Here the subject starts with a location and a description of his friends as comrades. This word has 3 definitions: a companion who shares activities, a fellow soldier or fellow socialists or communist. Considering the allegations of words used by the “Trump supporters” this is an interesting choice.
Why this phrase and not “we”. The writer used “we” when talking about heading out and chanting. Why the change of language? Is this story telling or narrative building?
Then the subject tells us they “decided” – not that they did go out to get food, but that they “decided” to and why they “decided” to head out. When a subject tells us why, they are anticipating the question.

suddenly 4-5 Trump supporters (3hefty/built white guys and one petite Brown Bengali/or Indian guy shocking)
TL – skipping time. The description of the “supporters” is interesting. The subject says “4-5”, but only describes 4. One of the 4 is described as “petite” which is most commonly used to describe women, almost never men. In fact Dictionary.com specifies it as a description of a woman.
Shocking: addition of emotion in the “right” spot.

approached us and started chanting ,
Approached is defined as “come near” or “speak to. . . typically a request”. Considering the allegations made this is a mild word choice.
“Started” is an intention. The “supporters” only started but didn’t actually get to chanting. Chanting is also an interesting choice. The writer used it to describe his groups actions when they were having “fun”, but now “chanting” is sinister.

"Trump Trump Trump" "Blue Lives Matter" showing their Blue Lives Matter bracelets and calling us communists & faggots
Here again is a reference to socialists or communism, which is how the writer described them earlier, but again it has now become sinister.
The emoji’s represent emotion and are placed in the right area by the writer.

Collin's face was really injured bleeding ,
TL: Skipping time
The sentence structure in this is poor. Collin’s face wasn’t just injured it was really injured. The writer has a need to persuade.
Collin (the first name – other than Trump) has no title in relation to the writer, this could indicate a poor relationship.

Peter's nose was bleeding non stop, Connar's face was swollen and his jaw was injured, & Christian was limping due to his knee injury as he fought these bigots back.
Here again the writer addresses why something is mentioned. Christian was limping because of his knee injury. The wording implies an old injury that the fight aggravated, not caused.
Again, no one has any title in relation to the writer.

We had no time to film this racist and disgusting attack because some of us were too busy trying to pull Trump supporters off of Collin and the rest of the comrades.
When things are reported in the negative they are doubly important. The writer knows that people today expect video of incidents and addresses why there is none.
“We” re-entered the language of the writer when talking about having “no time” to film. There is also the use of “us”, but it is preceded by “some”, so not all of us – only some of us were too busy to film. Only some of the groups of “comrades” were pulling off Trump supporters.
Once more the writer uses “comrades” to describe the others in the group, but not the writer. This coupled with the lack of titles associated with any of the names could mean the writer see him/herself as separate from the group. The writer does take possession of the group as “my comrades,” but not the individuals. Police should explore this for weak links.

I do find it interesting that this article ( http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2016/12/activists-brutally-attacked-donald-trump-supporters-new-york-city/ ) has a witness who believes they were targeted because they were "queer, black and non-cisgender".

It goes on to mention not what the "comrades" were chanting but that it was "slogans often heard at political protests".

I also thought it was interesting the witness said he ran to Decolonize This Space to ask for a "medic", which is a term I would associate with the military.

For real? Rumor or fact? HRC would appoint BHO to the Supreme Court had she won presidency. WOW what a deal in exchange for his support.

I'm stuck on the word comrade. Odd choice to describe (drinking) "buddies" or "friends". The author describes themselves as an "organized" group.

Then the subject tells us they “decided” – not that they did go out to get food, but that they “decided” to and why they “decided” to head out. When a subject tells us why, they are anticipating the question.

IMO, "decided" implies discussion and planning/decision making.

"Decolonize".

"Colonization" is a very sensitive subject here in Canada (in regards to First Nations). I find it really interesting that the author gave the name of the place they were at, instead of just saying they were out "at a bar/pub". IMO, this describes a subliminal "call to arms" against (unwanted) power.

At the intersection of Walker street

There is something missing here. Where is the intersection, specifically? Walker and what?

Is there a specific establishment at the corner of Walker and (missing information) they discussed being at [with the intention of having "fun"/agitating certain (known) people?]

There is a lot of passivity in this statement and I agree with the above poster, that there is missing time.

I say fake.

Further to my above post, if they did get their "butts hurt", IMO, they went looking for it.
