Statement Analysis: Keith Papini's Public Statement

Here is the statement made by Keith Papini.  He is the husband of Sherri Papini who was kidnapped, beaten and branded by two hispanic females, at gun point, but was released on Thanksgiving Day, 3 weeks after the abduction.
A Go Fund Me page was set up that stated its purpose was to "bring Sherri home", by the family.  It raised $49,000 and has stopped taking donations.
At this time, there are no indications that the money was refunded.  We note that she was simply dropped off.
After his wife was released, her husband made this statement.  First is the statement and then the statement with analysis following.

Question for Analysis:
What is the purpose of this statement?
Does Keith Papini have publicity intentions in his language?
"The first thing I would like to address is the overwhelming amount of gratitude our entire family has for the thousands of people that have been on this torturous journey with us. I cannot possibly name each and every person, although their names are eternally etched in our hearts. Thank you to our strong family, devoted friends, the entire Redding community and countless communities around the world. Specific thanks to the Shasta County Sheriff's department, FBI, NorCal Alliance for the Missing, the Lost Coast Trackers, Shasta Support Services, the Guardian Angels, my own personal A-Team, Cameron Gamble, Cody Salfen, Jim Linnan, Sean Ditty, Don Armstrong, Yolo County Sheriff's Department and hospital, the medical personnel that helped our dear Sherri, social media and many news outlets. Thank you to LRT Graphics and Signarama. Thank you to the extremely generous, anonymous as well as named donors all over the world selflessly gave to our family. Thank you to the many incredible humans that have never known Sherri that facilitated in sharing our heart break across the globe. Sherri has always captured my heart, and it is no surprise that she has captured the hearts not only through the country but throughout the world. Thank you, truly, immensely, sincerely and with my entire heart.
Secondly, we live in a nation of free speech, accompanied with an era of technology that provides immediate gratification. This is a double-edged sword. I am grateful for this system, as it is what spread my wife's face quickly throughout the world, gaining the attention of thousands. The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant positions, waiting for the gory details.
Rumors, assumptions, lies and hate have been both exhausting and disgusting. Those people should be ashamed of their malicious, subhuman behavior. We are not going to allow those people to take away our spirit, love or rejoice in our girl found alive and home where she belongs. I understand people want the story, pictures, proof that this was not some sort of hoax, plan to gain money or some fabricated race war. I do not see a purpose in addressing each preposterous lie. Instead, may I give you a glimpse of the mixture of horror and elation that was my experience of reuniting with the love of my life and mother of our children.
Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see upon my arrival at the hospital nor the details of the true hell I was about to hear. The mental prison I was in over the past three weeks was shattered when my questions of my wife's reality became known.
The officers warned me to brace myself. My first sight was my wife in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of repeated beatings, the bridge of her nose broken.
Her now emaciated body of 87 pounds was covered in multicolored bruises, severe burns, red rashes and chain markings. Her signature long blond hair had been chopped off. She has been branded, and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers. She was thrown from a vehicle with a chain around her waist, attached to her wrists and a bag over her head. The same bag she used to flag someone down once she was able to free one of her hands. Sherri was taken from us for 22 days and suffered incredibly through both intense physical agony and severe mental torture. My reaction was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body. I was filled with so much relief and revulsion at once. My Sherri suffered tremendously, and all the visions swirling in your heads of her appearance, I assure you, are not as graphic and gruesome as the reality.
We are a very private family [who] do not use social media outlets prior to this grotesque tragedy. My love for my wife took [precedence], and it was clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with. So please have a heart and understand why we have asked for our privacy. This will be along road of healing for everyone. Ultimately, it was Sherri's will to survive that brought her home. Thank you."

Here is the same statement with emphasis added for analysis:

The first thing I would like to address is the overwhelming amount of gratitude our entire family has for the thousands of people that have been on this torturous journey with us. I cannot possibly name each and every person, although their names are eternally etched in our hearts.
We note that he begins with a numeric.  This is often an indication of logic and preparation within a statement.  When we see its use we look for secondary and tertiary points to follow.
He addresses the "overwhelming amount of gratitude our "entire" family has for specific people who are:
"thousands of people."
These "thousands of people" were on the same "torturous journey" with "us", with "us" being, in context, the "entire" family.
Regarding these "thousands", he says that he cannot name them all but they although these thousands of people have their names etched upon their hearts.  It is impossible to have the names of thousands etched upon their hearts.
This is a demonstration of hyperbole.  The statement has begun with "thousands of people" being addressed as his starting point.
Question:  What is the priority of his statement?
Answer:  To address thousands of people.
This is where he chose to begin his statement (a) and he used hyperbolic language in doing so (b), so we should see if the rest of this statement confirms what appears to be his priority:
reaching thousands of people.
Objection:  His purpose is to thank the thousands of people.
Answer:  That is not what his words show.
It is not to "thank" them, but to "address" them.  This is the word he chose before thanking them.
We do not know who these "thousands of people" are, but "each and every one" of them is etched in their hearts for all eternity.
We consider in his language the word "etched" here.  To "etch" is to mark or engrave.
This is curious language when we consider the report that the victim, Sherri, was "branded" in some form, on her body.
He now issues a thank you:
Thank you to our strong family, devoted friends, the entire Redding community and countless communities around the world.
The "thank you" is issued here, not to "thousands of people" who can't be named but are etched in their hearts.
The order:
1.  "our strong family"
2.  "devoted" friends
3.  the entire Redding community
4.  "countless communities around the world"
We now see not only the order indicating priority, but we have the subject addressing "countless" number of "communities", not in the area, nor even in the United States, but "around the world."
His "thousands of people" include those in different countries.  One might wonder what these "thousands of communities" had to do with the abduction of his wife.
Why are they listed as "communities" here?  This would be to divide them, or partition them off, specifically by "community."
After the list of people who begin with family, and then specify certain friends that are "devoted", (which brings to question if there were friends that were not "devoted" in this "journey" with the family) but on to strangers in the community and those "communities" that are international; all before local law enforcement  who actually worked to find Sherri.
The formal and strong "thank you" is now "thanks", specifically to:
Specific thanks to the Shasta County Sheriff's department, FBI,
These are two law enforcement agencies

NorCal Alliance for the Missing, the Lost Coast Trackers, Shasta Support Services,
These are search organizations

the Guardian Angels,
This is a voluntary protection group.

my own personal A-Team,

This is a strange reference.  Here we have the first inclusion of the personal pronoun "my" for the subject himself (Keith Papini), making this very important to him.  Prior to this it is "our" so we note the first inclusion of a change to a more personal reference.
Having a personal "team", particularly an "A team" is a term closely related to celebrity status.

Cameron Gamble, Cody Salfen, Jim Linnan, Sean Ditty, Don Armstrong,
The order will likely be understood by those named, but then he returns to law enforcement and medical professionals:

Yolo County Sheriff's Department and hospital, the medical personnel that helped our dear Sherri,
We now have another reference to the personal possessive pronoun:
"my personal A team"
"our dear Sherri"
This is to take personal ownership of his A team, but not Sherri.
In Statement Analysis, we simply make a list of all the names that enter a statement and place them in order.
There are two very strong points to consider:
1. Sherri has many names listed before her, though she was the victim;
2.  The change in possessive pronoun "my" to "our" relegates Sherri as less important than his personal A team.
Sherri is not the priority of this statement.
It also indicates a less than close relationship with Sherri.  Please keep this in mind as you listen to his words.
social media and many news outlets.
he continues his theme of external and distant contacts to be addressed.
He now goes to business:
Thank you to LRT Graphics and Signarama.
He now goes to those who have given money to help "bring Sherri home" as he stated, without equivocation, that Sherri was not "missing" but was abducted:
Thank you to the extremely generous, anonymous as well as named donors all over the world  selflessly gave to our family.
These did not give to search efforts, but to "our family."  This is consistent with the wording used at Go Fund Me:  the money was going to the Papini "family" and not to search and recovery companies.
Note again the inclusion of the "world" here.

Thank you to the many incredible humans that have never known Sherri that facilitated in sharing our heart break across the globe.
He does not say that those who "don't know" Sherri, but "have never known" Sherri.  One might wonder if the subject (speaker) has plans to reach these "incredible humans" (those that gave money are "humans") by introducing Sherri to them.

Sherri has always captured my heart, and it is no surprise that she has captured the hearts not only through the country but throughout the world.
That Sherri "has always captured my heart" is an indication of a troubled relationship.
It is unnecessary to say, and it comes low in priority after showing a stronger linguistic connection to his "personal" A team.
That it is unnecessary, it is his need to tell "all the world" that Sherri has "always" captured his heart is to show that there is not only a need to persuade, but the language also suggests:
there was a particular time where Sherri likely did not "capture" his heart.  In analysis, there is a difference between:
"Sherri always captured my heart" and the slightly longer
"Sherri has always captured my heart"
This elongates time, also unnecessarily, but it brings into question the consistency of having his heart captured by someone whom he "shares", verbally, in a statement where he does not share his own personal A team.  They are not Sherri's but his.  He has his own personal A team.  It would be interesting to talk to them, particularly the one named last, and then to learn who is on his B team.

Could the word "captured" also be a form of possible leakage ?
Thank you, truly, immensely, sincerely and with my entire heart.
Police got "thanks" but the "humans" get the full "thank you" with:
a.  truly
b.  immensely
c.  sincerely
d.  his heart
e.  his entire heart

This is hyperbole, again, regarding his 'thanks' and is very weak.  Too many "very's" used shows the opposite; contempt.
These "humans" who gave money are given a greater linguistic closeness than his wife, the victim.
He has finished his first "logical" portion and now moves to the second numeric:

Secondly, we live in a nation of free speech, accompanied with an era of technology that provides immediate gratification.
The victim, who is not "my wife Sherri" but "our Sherri", was in an "unknown" danger for 3 weeks, beaten, broken, and branded.  He gave more words about money givers than about the victim.  Now, his second point begins with language that includes
"immediate gratification."
Since she was gone for 3 weeks, it is interesting to see him use these words.
The "second" point begins with only the "nation" and not the "communities of the world", with "free speech." He now lectures the nation:

This is a double-edged sword.
This is an expression to show cutting on two sides:
I am grateful for this system, as it is what spread my wife's face quickly throughout the world, gaining the attention of thousands. The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant positions, waiting for the gory details.
Here he addresses the acute need to say
"this was not a hoax" plainly.  We look for him to tell us that it was not a hoax, but that he is just glad that she is safe.  We now look to hear the denial.
Will it be a simple, 3 prong reliable denial?
Will it be something he denies and quickly moves on because, being untrue, it is not of any concern to him?
Our expectation, therefore, is a quick denial and few words necessary:
The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant positions, waiting for the gory details.

The only thing the public knew was that she was missing.  Yet, what wording does he use?
"gory details."
"Gory" is what is used to describe her injuries.  This is not something the public had knowledge of until he announced it.  In fact, the police deliberately withheld the "gory details" with the sheriff later telling the public that he is concerned that the investigation may have been compromised by the husband's release of the details.
Note the language of "sitting", shows an increase in tension for the subject (Keith), not for the people.
He says that they were sitting (body posture) and were angry and expectant.
What were they angry about?
In context, he tells us that they were "angry" while "sitting" because they were expecting the "gory details."
One might wonder how he knows that people were angry or even how the public might be expecting anything but news of her return?
These "people" are different than the "humans" who gave money to him.  This is a perfect place for him to say
"This was not a hoax" for us.

Rumors, assumptions, lies and hate have been both exhausting and disgusting.
He does not deny that it is a hoax.  Instead he addresses the impact upon him (as the subject) that "rumors", "assumptions", "lies" and the emotion of "hate" had upon him:
it was "exhausting" and "disgusting."
When someone is kidnapped, the innocent care not for anything but recovery of the victim.
Yet, rumors "exhausted" and "disgusted" him.  This indicates he had the energy and time to pay attention to such things.  But what things, specifically, did he expend both time and energy upon?
1.  Rumors
Rumors are a part of every news story of a disappearance as a result of alerting the public.  It is natural for the public to wonder "why would someone kidnap a middle aged mother?"
This is a normal part of news:  who done it? why? where? when?  how?
In fact, investigators do scan social media, news story comments and blogs because they are open minded professionals who will willingly pick up information and ideas wherever they may be found.  After work, they go home and go online and seek.
Rumors help.
Rumors get people talking and exchanging information.  We saw in the McCanns how they deliberately withheld information from the public that would have possibly helped locate a kidnapped child, such as her basic description.

2.  Assumptions
This is akin to rumors where one rumor may gain strength.
3.  Lies
What lies is he talking about? If someone has lied about his wife, this is a perfect time to address it.
4.  Hate
"Hate" is used to silence opposition. It is to ascribe an emotion to a person to stop their opinion.
 This is very concerning.
In the recent analysis of the McCanns' deception, one woman on Facebook repeatedly posted "stop the hate" of the McCanns, as if obsessively posting this phrase would cause people to stop intelligent dialog and say "I don't want to be guilty of "hate", so I better disengage my intellect."  It is difficult to imagine someone who thinks this way but when one considers that this same person is dedicating her life to a family not known, not met, not paid for, and will never meet, there arises the awareness of greater issues to cope with.
It is the modern deceptive technique that seeks to squelch free speech.  It is interesting that he has the energy to even address free speech while seeking to squelch it.  In the very least, here is where he can address lies, rumors or anything else, with a simple denial.
Why would he have the wherewithal, given the celebration of his wife, who was 'lost but now is found', to even address this?
Please consider where he began his statement as to his priority.  Thus far, the analysis has shown that reaching the public at large, with his message, is his priority; not his wife's life being spared.

Those people should be ashamed of their malicious, subhuman behavior.
We now have "human" and "subhuman" in his language.  What is the difference?
He first introduced "human" in his statement to describe those who gave him money.
He now counters with "subhuman" being those who doubted his narrative, therefore, not giving him money.
One would wonder how someone diligently spending 3 weeks trying to care for his children while finding his wife would have the time to be both "exhausted" and "disgusted" by anyone who is "not part of the community" of "thousand" who is now deemed to be "sub human."
It is also interesting to note that this is the language of supremacists.
In Nazi Germany, the ideology held that those of Germanic origin were superior to others.
In Islam, the Muslim is considered (at least the male) superior to non Muslims, though a woman, in Islam, is only "half" the value, yet she is still of more value than the "kuffar" women who are known to be such because they are "uncovered"; therefore, eligible for rape.
He uses the language of supremacy in his statement.  This is something that should be thoroughly explored by police.
"Sub human" is a specific term used by supremacists, which the off shoot of national socialism is the "skin head" or "White Supremacist."
One should now explore the Papini background to learn if there is any connection to any form of supremacist ideologies.
Those who are not supreme are "sub human", in his vocabulary.  Those who are supremacists believe that they are superior and in control:
We are not going to allow those people to take away our spirit, love or rejoice in our girl found alive and home where she belongs.
He does not use the personal "I" here but "we" and will not "allow" them to take away "our", not "his" spirit and love, though they exhausted and disgusted him.
Note he uses the phrase, "our girl", not "my girl" and "home where she belongs" is unnecessary language.  When found in "control" and with "sub human", one should consider the possibility of domestic violence.
Women in domestically violent relationships rarely experience violence.  They are controlled, instead, by the threat of violence.  They live life under another's control and learn how to keep themselves safe, while living under incessant tension.  It shows in their language.

I understand people want the story, pictures, proof that this was not some sort of hoax, plan to gain money or some fabricated race war.
Now he changes the language to "people" who want 3 things:
1.  the story
2.  pictures
3.  proof
of what?
That this is not a hoax.
But he is not done there.  He introduces two important elements:
1.  gain money
2.  race war
He raised $49,000.
He uses the language of neo-nazi (or white) supremacists.
He now introduces both motives as possible.
It is here where having introduced it, he should deny it.

I do not see a purpose in addressing each preposterous lie.

Deception indicated
He gives us all the issues with detail and how important they are to him and why they should be addressed.  Here he tells us, in the negative, what he does not see.
He is not truthful.
Instead, may I give you a glimpse of the mixture of horror and elation that was my experience of reuniting with the love of my life and mother of our children.

He employs the deceptive technique of diversion.
This shows not only a need to deceive, but a rehearsed example of knowing what he planned to do.  This affirms the analysis point of the numeric:  logical thought and follow through.
Lying causes internal stress.
Rather than lie outright, he uses a diversion that includes emotion.
He chided the sub humans for wanting gory details but instead now offers them, himself.
This is to associate self with the sub humans he condemns.  This is a subtle connection that shows knowledge that what he is understanding is directly related to the "rumors" and the "lies" that said this is about "hoax", "money" or "race war."
He now enters strongly into the statement, for himself, with a psychological entrance that has not been previously seen.  We should now pay careful attention:
Nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see upon my arrival at the hospital nor the details of the true hell I was about to hear.
The "hell" is not for the victim, but for himself.
This is consistent with his lack of personal ownership or connection to the victim.

The mental prison I was in over the past three weeks was shattered when my questions of my wife's reality became known.
Here he was in mental prison and he had this prison "shattered"; is this a good thing?
The incongruity of being "in prison" and then having the prison "shattered" to set him free is not lost upon listeners.
Note that this has been all about him and not about the victim.  It continues here:
The officers warned me to brace myself. My first sight was my wife in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of repeated beatings, the bridge of her nose broken.
He does not write of his wife's injuries.
He writes of his own perception of them. This is the language of narcissism.

Her now emaciated body of 87 pounds
Sherri is not 87 pounds.  This is not in his language.  It is her body that is 87 pounds.
was covered in multicolored bruises, severe burns, red rashes and chain markings.
She is not covered with these things; her body is.  This is to make a distancing point separating her from her body.  He is not done yet though:
Her signature long blond hair had been chopped off.

"Signature":  this is both the language of marketing and of neo nazi white supremacy.

She has been branded,

He did not say "she was branded" but "has been" which lengthens time.  This should raise concern about possible knowledge.
Her body and her "signature blonde hair" is how she appears to him.  The rumors, lies etc, were what made him exhausted and disgusted.
and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers.
It is not her scabs, but what he could feel, that is what he states.
She was thrown from a vehicle with a chain around her waist,
Here is passivity which is used to conceal identity and/or responsibility.  Expected is:  "They threw here", or "Her captors" threw her...
Why would he need to use passivity?
One might argue that not knowing the identity of the assailants would suffice, but the context suggests otherwise:  this is his wife who others personally put hands on to harm.  There is an expectation of a very strong linguistic disposition towards the kidnappers as harsh, angry and of one very up close and personal.
Yet, we have heard little about Sherri, a priority about promotional activities, and nothing about the brutal kidnappers.
attached to her wrists and a bag over her head. The same bag she used to flag someone down once she was able to free one of her hands
This is not part of the "gory" details but is consistent with evidence verification.
One might wonder why he would have a need to "verify" evidence. This, too, is very concerning.

Sherri was taken from us for 22 days and suffered incredibly through both intense physical agony and severe mental torture.
Here he begins, not with Sherri's suffering, but from "our" perspective:  she was not taken from him, but from "us."
The need to share here is a red flag of concern.
This is the scope of a sentence that consists of her suffering, mentioned as an afterward point of from whom she was taken.
Also note that "was taken" is not "kidnapped" but continues the soft, passive theme.

My reaction was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body.
Note we hear so little of what it was like for the victim, but point after point about what it was like for him.
What was her reaction to being brutalized?

I was filled with so much relief and revulsion at once.
What was she filled with when kidnapped, beaten, starved and branded?

My Sherri suffered tremendously, and all the visions swirling in your heads of her appearance, I assure you, are not as graphic and gruesome as the reality.
Even here, with her suffering, she is  now "my Sherri", personally his, with the suffering:  but the suffering is specific, it is
appearance.

To whom is "appearance" impacted?
It is Keith.

"I assure you" is the language of those who feel a need to call upon reinforcements in order to be believed.
He has addressed the "thousands" of "humans" who gave money. They are no longer accepting donations.  After various media and social media, there is left the investigation.
What does he now want?
We are a very private family do not use social media outlets prior to this grotesque tragedy.
Notice what he tells us in the negative:  they do "not" use social media outlets prior to this 'kidnapping', (which he avoids) calling it a "grotesque tragedy."
What does this statement indicate?
It indicates a very strong need to search social media for statements made by this very private family, specifically prior to this "tragedy" by police.
He is literally calling attention to any possible statements on social media made by him, Sherri or someone in the family before this happened.
Remember:  he could tell us anything he wants. He has chosen to address what they did not do prior to the kidnapping.
He is telling police to investigate this.

My love for my wife took [precedence], and it was clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with.
What is the focus here?
"my love"; that is, his love for his wife.
Here he is telling us that there are things on social media he does not want found.
He knew this before hand, but his love was so great that he allowed it to be for her sake.
So please have a heart and understand why we have asked for our privacy.
The sub humans do not possess a heart.  He urges them to do so.  How can they become "human" since Go Fund Me is closed?
Answer:  stop looking in social media at things they have posted, which never existed anyway.
Sherri was beaten, nose broken, branded and starved but he has the lack of self awareness to talk about healing for anyone beside the victim:
This will be along road of healing for everyone.
Who gets the reward for Sherri's recovery?
Ultimately, it was Sherri's will to survive that brought her home. Thank you.

Analysis Conclusion:
Keith Papini has something to hide.
Keith Papini's statement reveals a priority of capitalizing upon what happened to Sherri.
He revels a narcissistic-like focus upon self while showing a neutral linguistic disposition towards the kidnappers.
He does not deny this being a hoax.  I cannot deny it for him.
He uses phrases consistent with both neo-nazi supremacists and those involved in domestic violence.
He introduces various motives, including money and race, but declines to deny them both.
He has raised $50,000 from Go Fund Me, and has a very favorable view of those who donated, of whom he calls "humans" which is very unusual. He used "plastering her face" and "signature" blonde hair which are terms associated with publicity.  This is consistent with "my personal A team."
In using this most unexpected (and unnecessary) designation (calling humans "human") we soon learn why.
He calls humans who gave to him "humans" while calling those who doubted the account and did not give him money "sub humans."
Keith has his own "A team" like a celebrity has an entourage.  He shows linguistically a closeness to them that he does not have with his wife.
His concern and focus is him, including how her injuries impacted him.

Where does he finally take 'ownership' of her?  Contextually, with her injuries and marketing.
If people doubted the veracity of this account before his appearance on television, it is very likely there will be more doubt  now.
Without Sherri's statement to analyze, we are left only with his.  He is not truthful about seeing no need to issue a denial, but is deceptive at this exact point.  He recognizes in detail these allegations, but refuses to answer them.
Her "signature blonde hair" is to use the word "signature", which is modern language of branding or "brand."  It is not lost that "blondes" and "Germanic origin" of the national socialists is something associated with the neo nazi movement.
He shows no animosity towards the kidnappers, of whom she spent 3 weeks with yet reports show that she has not given any detailed description of other than "two hispanic females."

This statement is all about him; not the victim.  He affirms the priority of publication that he began his statement with.  His priority was publicity, not Sherri.  This remained consistent throughout his statement.

Striking similarity to the McCanns. Like them he expressed extreme gratitude to this, that and the other but nothing for the safe return of the person that is supposed to be closest to him!

Thank you for covering this, Peter

He passed the Polygraph.

Interesting language employed by the Sheriff.

"It appears he’s telling us the truth,”said Sheriff Tom Bosenko.
“,Generally, you can’t trick a polygraph.

"he’s telling us the truth", or he told the truth. Economy of words, the shortest sentence is the best.

What do you make of this, Peter?

Is the allocation, from him (pronoun her) in context. I was thinking, should he not use the definite article? To say the chain belonged to "her", i find unusual. "Her chain". Were there others whom had chains attached, too?

"“She screamed so much, she’s coughing up blood from the screaming trying to get somebody to stop,”he said in an interview last Friday. “And again just another sign of how my wife is, she’s so wonderful. She’s saying, ‘Well maybe people aren’t stopping because I have a chain that looks like I broke out of prison,’ so she tried to tuck in her chain under her clothes.”

Then we have this

When the lights are off, when doors shut, when she hears certain sounds, I mean, it’s something that I don’t know how to deal with, and we’ll need somebody who can help her through that from a professional standpoint,” Keith said.

Continuing with the "gratitude" theme... He is grateful for technology being able to plaster her face over the internet, but again this gratitude does not appear to extend to the purpose of safe return of his wife. I'm not sure this would even be an advantage over old fashioned police work.

Thank you for this analysis. I have been hoping for it. This part made me laugh:

The sub humans do not possess a heart. He urges them to do so. How can they become "human" since Go Fund Me is closed?

Indeed, how??

Thanks, Peter.

In hearing snippets of his statement it stuck me that he was deflecting and his concern was for what he wanted viewers to believe, not for Sherri or finding who kidnapped and hurt her. Now that I read his full statement it is odd. I'l have the time to process the full statement.

Anon "I" said...

In the first (thanking everyone) paragraph, as I was reading I was imagining a fish out of water flopping back and forth in his effort to thank this person, that person, this agency, that agency.... He is awfully thankful to a lot of people. What about being thankful for having her back in his arms? Any interest in catching the SOB's? No? Warning to the community that these culprits are on the loose? Justice? I hear crickets....

He says: "The unfortunate side is that some people have been sitting in angering, expectant positions, waiting for the gory details." I find it interesting he uses the word angering. It sounds to me like their expectant positions and gory details are angering to him, not that they are angry people with curiosity.

I am very disturbed that he says he "My reaction was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body" and that "I was filled with so much relief and revulsion at once." The normal expectation would be that they are thrilled to have their loved one back. Nausea might be an expression of how one would feel that their loved one had been beaten and the experience she had to endure. He says he was nauseased as "my eyes and hands scanned her body." I would think the overwhelming norm would be to be relieved that she was still alive. He was filled with "so much relief and revulsion at once." He is relieved but has revulsion to his wife's state of appearance? Is his love conditional upon her hair length, smooth skin, and beauty? Can he not see the wounded person in front of him as his wife with love and empathy and look past the scrapes and bruises?

I'm betting he and CD would make great friends.

I KNEW IT! I feel vindicated...I was so worried I'd completely misread the situation since peter hadn't really done an analysis and was cautioning people. I'm glad to see that I was picking up on a lot of the right things (the passive language, the "our" vs "my", etc).

Thank you for doing this Peter. I was suspicious as soon as I saw his statement. In a later statement, he talked about what he did on arriving home and her not being there and the first thing he mentioned was using findmyiphone to track her. Who would think of that before calling or texting her or checking in with relatives or friends or daycare? Something is very amiss with this guy.

Carolina said...

I get a strong feeling of domestic abuse because of the focus on looks. As Anon "i" mentioned, he talks about his relief and revulsion together but look at how it is worded:

Sherri was taken from us for 22 days and suffered incredibly through both intense physical agony and severe mental torture. My reaction [to her being taken and suffering?] was one of extreme happiness and overwhelming nausea as my eyes and hands scanned her body.

IMO, SHERRI wrote this. She wants to and believes she is a writer. The way she wrote this is very similar to the way she wrote her letter on the white supremacy board. Some of the flowery words are showing STORY TELLING - like a book is being written.
I believe 100% this was written by Sherri at some point and Keith had time to memorize it. IMO, it is obvious these are not his own thoughts!

In that creepy photo of them that the media keeps using, he looks like he's nuzzling one of those "Real Dolls" that men dress, pose, and do XYZ things to. She's so plastic, fake, and posed in that photo. Creepy.

Also, this statement from Keith is creepy:

" “My family is with me now,” he said. “Right now I am happy my wife is back. I don’t have to raise my kids without her.” "

"Right now"?? So, later on you won't be so happy?

"I don’t have to raise my kids without her.” Well thank goodness - so she can raise your kids for you.

I find it odd that he's Sherri's spokesman, yet never delivers a message from her, i.e., "Sherri would like to thank ...", "Sherri wanted me to tell you ...", "Sherri is in hiding because she is terrified that her abductors are still at large..."

Where is the battle cry to find the monsters responsible and mete out justice? Where are the details of what Sherri could remember so that everyone watching could be on alert?

What kind of bag was on her head? How could she breathe with a bag on her head?

What was the chain around her waist for? She was able to free her hands to remove the bag, so her arms weren't tethered to the chain, nor were her legs. What's the point of a chain around the waist? It sounds more like something out of central casting.

I'm starting to wonder what was going on in the Papinis' personal and/or financial lives in the months preceding the "abduction." It's starting to feel reminiscent of the "Runaway Bride" (the one with the bulgy eyes) from a few years ago. She was in emotional turmoil and feeling overwhelmed, so she faked her own kidnapping. I feel like this may have been a diversion to deflect attention from something pressing going on in her/their lives.

Been wondering this for the past 2 days said...

No pictures of Sherri post-kidnapping. No statements from Sherri post-kidnapping. No family member saying "Sherri says....".

Supposed sighting of Sherri a few days before Sherri was released and Sherri still had long hair, etc.

How do authorities truly know that the "released" Sherri is the real Sherri?
They have even moved away from their house so that no neighbors will be able to stop by and recognize if it is not the real Sherri. Supposedly they plan to never return so noone familiar will be able to see if it is not in fact the real Sherri.

Is there anything linguistically that could point to this in any of Keith's words?

How does anyone know if the woman released on the side of the road is the real Sherri?

This could point to any number of sinister scenarios...one that pops into my mind is the fact that Keither never told his kids that Sherri was missing which suggests that Sherri may not have been present in the home for a while since the kids didn't ask where their Mom was. (Is there is a possibility that she was killed at some time in the recent past prior to her "kidnapping"?)

If the released "Sherri" "had been branded" who is to say that the released Sherri is not actually Sherri but rather some other victim of human trafficking who may have blond hair (chopped off)?

Anyone see any indications linguistically that the released Sherri may not be the real Sherri????

Katrina said...

What about the fact that Keith's one statement about the kids being reunited with Sherri is one, which, theoretically, could be seen and the kid questioning the identity of his mother?.

Keith has said that when Sherri first came home, one of the kids said "Mommy doesn't cry when she's happy." And Keith corrected the child saying "Mommy DOES cry when she is THIS happy.'

Typically a young child under age 5 whose mother had been kidnapped for weeks and then had returned would run to the mother hugging her and overjoyed.

Why did Keith's child, according to Keith's statement, remain physically as well as emotionally distant from the released "Sherri", saying "Mommy doesn't cry when she is happy."

Carolina said...

Katrina, Maybe depends on the kid and how messed up Sherri looked. It could be she looked unrecognizable to the kid because of the injuries. There was a statement Keith made about telling the kids I thought was odd. He told them Mommy didn't come home. To a little kid, that could sound blameworthy and could make the kid feel mommy didn't love him.

Katrina said...

Yeah, but that's incriminating right there. Him telling the kids that "Mommy didn't come home." What possible reason to attempt to shift the responsibility onto Mommy for not coming home? It's not like she ran off with the milkman.

Peter is absolutely correct to point out the narcissism of his focus on his "impression" of Sherri's altered appearance (through injury and starvation) as well as his depersonalisation of Sherri into an "injured body". I also find within this phenomenon sensitivity surrounding Sherri's appearance as well as her body being depersonalized from it's owner, Sherri. It opens the door to questions surrounding whether the released Sherri is actually the real Sherri. The only hint we get of Keith's recognition of familiarity of his wife is in the negative---"Her signature blond hair was gone". Nothing to the effect of "It was so good to see her beautiful blue eyes"...."It was so good to hold my wife again"...."It was so good to kiss her face"....."It was so good to smell her again"..."It was so good to touch her soft skin"...."It was so good to hear her voice again"....There is absolutely nothing that linguistically ties the released "Sherri" to the former "Sherri".

Katrina said...

Definition of "scan"

"to look at all parts of (something) carefully in order to detect some feature."

So, is that what he was doing when he scanned her, was looking for the familiar rather than looking at the differences? Was he "scanning" her to see if others would '"detect" some feature' that would betray that this was not the real Sherri? Was he scanning her to see "is there some scar, mole, birthmark, defining feature, much bigger nose, etc etc etc" that could betray that this is not the real Sherri???

In other words, was he scanning her looking for a specific feature that could cause the replacement Sherri to be detected as a fraud?

Always Peter, a thrill to read your analysis of these cases as you are dead on and I am not even a student of SA (would like to be whenever I could afford classes or the time) :)

From the statement: "I cannot possibly name each and every person, although their names are eternally ETCHED in our hearts" EMPHASIS MINE. This was ingenious of you Peter; the connection between the phrase "etched in our hearts" from Mr. Papini and the so-called "branded message" on Sheri's skin. Incredible catch but not so much for one like you Peter who has been trained to see. I don't know how any of us missed something so simple but it seems we did. Of course, we don't know who actually did harm this woman but authorities should be able to discern before long. I said earlier on that Mr. Papini reminded me so much of CD and that was before your analysis. Maybe narcissistic behavior is easier to spot now .....
I also read on another web site that Sherri's maiden name was Graeff and people were making something out of the fact that she is German/Jewish and some sort of possible racial motive excuse for her current ordeal. It was also reported that Sherri Papini had had hatred toward a racial group because the group had done something terrible to her father; she supposedly put a rant on FB or other social media a while back about an ethnic group purporting that. Myself, I get the feeling from your analysis and some of the photos I've seen of she and her husband that their marriage was in deep trouble...body language suggests it. The Go Fund Me account might suggest a fiancial strain in their union as well?

Anonymous said...

Mr Hyatt, this is the most intense analysis I have read of yours, I believe it is due to how immediately Keith Papini launches into the meat of his narrative.

I have a very short tweet from the parents of Sherri Papini, I know you get asked to analyze everything under the sun, yet this one is compelling on its face, and your insight will provide depth. The parents operate a storage facility, perhaps where Sherri hid, and maybe they drove her to Yolo.

She did not torture herself, Sammy.

Duh. The fact Gamble owns captivity captivity containers and her parents operate storage facilities would just point the finger at Keith as having been involved, as he would have easy access to A) captivity containers and B) storage facilities. This also suggests the possibility of something of a wider scope involving possible human trafficking.

Perhaps people should pay attention to the lack of linguistic indicators that the "released Sherri" is the "real Sherri".

Did you overlook Mr. Hyatt's focus on Keith's language of control and domestic violence?

Here is her post on Skinheadz from 2003. (and another link for it): https://web.archive.org/web/20071030034941/http://www.skinheadz.com/docs/instruct/2003/060101.html

Being aware and having pride

Sherri Graeff
I grew up in a small country town, Shasta Lake, California. My school was predominately white. It was a small enough town that everyone pretty much knew each other. I was known as a really good athlete and my Dad had a reputation for being my biggest fan but, also, for standing up against Latinos.

He, even, was often kicked out of the stands for getting in fights and defending himself when the Latinos would call him a "Nazi." Seems that our simply being of German-descent was a constant irritant to them. I would get in fights, too, having to stick up for myself instead of knuckling under to what the Latino girls said and wanted.

I got excellent grades, 3.9 - 4.2, but grew more and more resentful of school and conditions around me. I used to come home in tears, because I was getting suspended from school all the time for defending myself against the Latinos. The chief problem was that I was drug-free, white and proud of my blood and heritage.

This really irked a group of Latino girls, which would constantly rag and attack me. One night, at my volleyball game, my homecoming game, I spotted this gang of Latinos sitting behind my father.

As the game was coming to an end, I kept seeing my Dad snap around and look behind him, like he kept getting hit by something. Then I caught, out of the corner of my eye, those little devils throwing ice at my Dad and mocking him by raising their hands in the air, as if they were saluting Hitler.

After the game was over and we shook hands with the other team, I walked up the bleachers towards my Dad. Just at the moment he turned around, I told the Latinos -- nicely, actually -- to quit their acting up. Then, one of them called me "Hitler," unleashed a barrage of profanity against me and my Dad and took a swipe at me. That really teed me off. I don't think I've ever been that mad. I lunged back at her, slamming her head between the bleachers and pounding her face.

It took three full-sized men to pull me off of her. I broke her nose and split her eyebrow. After they got me out of the gym, I had to deal with the cops and such. She did not press charges, so I was released to my father's custody.

Girls should not fight

Which brings me to my point of why girls should not fight. We are just too fragile and break easily. I totally agree with Skinheads that girls should not fight. They should stand by their men. But, sometimes, I guess, you have to do what is necessary, when a Skinhead isn't on hand. On the way up the bleachers, when I had rebuffed the Latinos, I had split my leg open and it was hard for me to walk.

Anonymous said...

her post continued...

But when my Dad picked me up from the police department, the only thing he kept saying to me was, "Sher, I'm proud of you. You did the right thing. Keep on walking. Don't let your leg slow you down. Keep walking." It was a happy feeling to have such support from my Dad.

Two weeks later, I was closing the family pizza-joint we owned, when two cars pulled up. I didn't even have to turn around to see who it was. I instinctively knew who it was. Three Latino guys and five girls rushed in and jumped me. I put up a fight, but I was clearly outnumbered and at a disadvantage. Jessi, the girl whose nose I broke, was with them. They kept hollering about how they hated Skinheads, how all Skinheads should be "burned alive" and how I and my ancestors were supposedly all "KKK."

I actually laughed in their faces, at the inaccuracy of their statements. I mean, they were so dumb that they actually were funny. How dumb can you be? There wasn't even a Skinhead anywhere in sight.

Then, I got knocked to the floor and kicked in the face. I took a deep breath and shook my head in disbelief. "Can this really be happening?" I thought to myself. Then, I thought, "Is it worth it?" "Is being white and standing up for myself and my beliefs worth all this pain I'm having to put up with?" Then, I heard the echo of my Dad's voice, "You did the right thing. Keep walking, Sher. I'm proud of you."

It was that pride that gave me the will I needed, right then and there. I took a deep breath, let out a cuss word and got right back up, swinging. I don't ever swear like that, ever, but, somehow, the word just slipped out, just as Jessi kicked me in the stomach and the others hit me in the face, a few times. Then, before I even saw it coming, whack, one of them smashed me in the shin with a two-by-four, fracturing my leg.

But, I kept fighting back so tenaciously that they saw that they couldn't defeat me, so they all suddenly ran out the door. My house was about nine or ten blocks away. I limped the whole way home. I'm not sure how I made it, but I still heard the sound of my Dad's voice, "Keep walking, Sher. Keep walking." I guess my point is that even though I didn't always understand why my life had to be one constant battle, our "family-values" -- between myself and my Dad -- carried me through.

My Dad was always there with me, in spirit. Being white is more than just being aware of my skin, but of standing behind Skinheads -- who are always around, in spirit, as well -- and having pride for my country. Being white is my family, my roots, my way of life. It's always there. There's no denying it. It's nobility. It's strength. It will be there to lift me up when I really need my pride, when I need to "keep walking."

Peter:

All last week I thought you believed him. It was crazy-making. Whew.
I misunderstood your correction. Now, who here is good at cracking social media????

Also, I wondered if before all this went down or when it went down he did a lot of research to sound authentic. There was one quote about all the little horrible things he went down, was "she cold, was she hot, all the little horrible things he went through" that reminded me of something that had been said on this blog, and it made me think he might have read up on what to say, and what not to say here. And if so, hi Keith! It was also suspicious to me that he went to visit that family who REALLY had a tragic loss of their daughter Tara, I think it was, and exploited their loss for his own gain. He spent five hours with them. I am sure to either tie Sherri's kidnapping in with theirs to make it look connected, or to find out what he should be saying and thinking. It was very suspicious to me. If he didn't get that "all those horrible things" line from here, then I bet he got it from there. At any rate, I thought it was notable that he said "all those horrible things I would go through" not "all those horrible things she might be going through". He never once said, I wondered what they might be doing to her. He never once said, I wondered if my wife might be dead, or alive, or how they might be treating her, what she might be thinking, but twice he said, I know she's screaming my name. That was so gross to me.

And finally, sorry for this long post, but when he got the call on Thanksgiving morning, Oh my god It's you, You're there, I love you I love you I love you etc all this romantic bullshit and then at the end of the call he says, Where are you. I mean, sorry but WTF? If my husband were lost FIRST THING out of my mouth is, WHERE ARE YOU??

Who's with me? Where are you? I'm grabbing my keys, my wallet, if I think of it, maybe putting shoes on, where are you, omg where are you? There's no omg I love you i love you. It's Where are you, I'm coming to get you. Stay where you are I'll be right there, I've got the police on the other line.

Okay whew, sorry but that's been backing up on me! And there are some interesting comments on Reddit. I can't believe I am saying that, it's down there with 4chan, but after I thought that Peter believed Keith and I had my crazy-making moment where down was up and in was out... I... went to Reddit and...it wasn't that bad. Anyway, they aren't buying Keith's crap, so it was worth it.

Sam 5377 that is indeed a very disturbing post on Twitter.

She didn't write that Skinhead post. It was written by a male. Guaranteed.

Alexandra said...

Ah yes Horse Chestnut. "All those horrible things"...what an incredibly unique phrase...He MUST have gotten it from here!

A lot of his BS about Sherri's supposed behavior during her captivity period was taken from stuff Ariel Castro's former captives have said. Specifically the one captive who had Castro's baby during captivity.

Alexandra said...

Also, Michelle Knight, Castro's kicking post.

Horse Chestnut said...

Ditto to Sam5377 regarding Tweet. It's almost like a P.S. But really what comes across is, my daughter's not really missing b/c if she were, I wouldn't even remember there WAS an election.

Alexandra said...

But I don't believe it is a "hoax", I just think it all goes back to his narcissistic focus on his own "impressions"....he stole stuff that Ariel Castro's captives did during years and years of captivity to try to get more sympathy and attention for himself from "the thousands of people"...what Sherri went through was incredibly traumatic but Keith tries to spice up the details even further saying that Sherri used "survival techniques" that would only come into use if one were held in captivity for years and specifically with their child also held captive. The BS details he gives revolve around that: One detail he give and cuts himself off saying "Like taking the kids to school" (survival method used during captivity.)..makes no sense in Sherri's case yet is a major survival technique used by one of Ariel Castro's captives who bore his child where she set up a room in the house as a school room and would pretend every day with her daughter to "walk" her to school, even pretending to cross streets until they reached the school room where she actually would teach her daughter every day. The other survival technique was Sherri supposedly wrapped a blanket up and pretended it was her baby and rocked it...I'm not sure where he's getting that from and also Sherri does not have a baby so why would she pretend to rock one?

"Her poor face"....he is stealing that detail from the Castro case...well known detail that Michelle Knight was singled out to be hit in the face often by Castro while the others weren't.

He is throwing in fictitious details because he wants as much attention and sympathy as humanly possible. He is not concerned with Sherri. This is about him getting attention, or publicity, as Peter has pointed out.

Anonymous said...

His focus on her looks is punitive. He draws attention to it right away and describes her in terms that suggest her value is in her looks and she is devalued after the attack. He is shaming her. A loving husband would not start broadcasting details like that nor would he describe his own negative feelings toward her looks, he would empathize with how she must be feeling.

What are the motives for kidnapping? The purpose or motive behind kidnapping could include monetary gain, a ransom or reward; facilitating some illegal crime or terrorizing the victim or a third person.
Does the victim/family have a high net worth? Was there a ransom request? Did she withdraw money from an account? The motive doesn't appear to be money.  Branding is preformed by pimps and sex traffikers, along with beatings and food deprivation. It is curious to me if a pimp/ traffiking ring abducted, tortured, groomed for (3) weeks and branded Sherri for the purpose of sex traffiking why they would let her go? Were they conscientious traffikers who pushed her out of the vehicle on Thanksgiving Day or was that a coincidence? Did they truly fear the publicity? But if so why risk it by letting her go?
She doesn't appear to be a typical victim for sex traffiking. Have there been other abductions of suburban women in that 150 mile radius?
Branding is also a form of punishment and degradation as is hair cutting. This brand was a "message" not a symbol or mark of any group. A message to who, her? her husband? Overall to me, in description, it appears very personal and purposeful, not random.

Mandee JP said...

Although he passed a poly, all we really know is what the husband said. I don't know the analysis, some things I found curious.

His words tells us he was acutely aware of all the events of that entire day and sure of them.
“I remember everything about that day,” her husband, Keith Papini, told ABC News' “20/20” in an exclusive interview.
Wouldn't he have racked his brain on that day, wondering if there was something he forgot, something he wasn't thinking of? He said it was a normal day until he arrived home, yet he remembers everything about the whole day?

He said that he was convinced, he knew, she had been "abducted".
That's when I knew she had been taken or abducted, in my opinion," Keith told KRCR.
He didn't say he knew something was wrong, he "knew" she had been taken or abducted". Then weakens it with in my opinion?

Although he didnt say he called or text her phone, he said he immeditaely tried to locate "it".
“It did not take me long [to find it]. It was right off the road,” he said.
It didn't take long to find the phone. Was he looking for the phone or her?

He said he was certain she was being held against her will by captors, was probably being deprived of food and shelter, screaming his name.
“I was just worried about her health,” he said. “Are they feeding her? Is she hot? Is she cold? Just little horrible things that I would go through.
"I just thought of her being there screaming my name," he said.
"Just" worried compared to what else? "Just" "little" minimizing the horrible? Why did worries become things? That HE would go through. Who is they? Where is there? "her being there screaming my name" Did he have knowledge of her doing this?

He said he believed that they had the ability and could/would choose to bring her home.
Bring her home, bring her home, just bring her home," a distraught Keith Papini told KRCR-
"Just" bring her home, compared to what?

He said he was waiting for a call from whoever "they" were for directions to a house and a vehicle description.
"It's hard waiting you know, you are waiting for a phone call, you're waiting for something to tell us this is the directions, or this is the house, or this is the car and that is very difficult right now."
It was the waiting that was difficult it wasn't the not knowing?

He said to her.
If she is listening I want to say, 'We are trying, we are trying the best we can and I am sorry I'm not there',." Keith said while crying. "I'm coming honey. I am trying, I'm doing everything I can and I love you."
"We" are attempting something, unspecified, but failing. He was sorry he wasn't "there", not sorry she was suffering? He is coming, "there" not he will find her. Again He is attempting something and failing. He is doing everything he can, which indicates there is nothing else he thinks he should do?

He said what he was going thru.
"It's the worst thing in the world," Keith paused and continued to say,"I never, it's never, it's the worst thing ever,"
All about him.

He said he called the day care to see what time she picked up the kids, who according to him were always picked up "on time" meaning there was a certain time they were to be picked up. It was past that time.
The first thing I said was, ‘What time did Sherri pick up the kids today?’"
Why wasn't he calling to see IF she picked up the kids rather than what time? It seems like controlling language. As does calling his mother to see if she had talked to her rather than calling Sherri's phone. Maybe it was typical behavior he was describing.
Did he know she hadn't picked up the kids? Did he not call or text her because he knew she wouldnt answer?

Keith Papini's words seem to convey knowledge of something that would have seemingly been unknown.

"His focus on her looks is punitive. He draws attention to it right away and describes her in terms that suggest her value is in her looks and she is devalued after the attack."

Sure, I agree, but he goes even further than being punitive...although she may have looked emaciated and have been covered in bruises he talks about her like she is grotesquely disfigured and it's f&cking bizarre. Even the 2020 interviewer was like "Did they brand her face?" because Keith was acting like she had been permanently disfigured.

He describes

nauseau
revulsion
images swirling in your head can't compare to the horrible reality (of Sherri's appearance)
grotesque tragedy
cops told me to "brace myself"

Why the f&ck is he talking like that? Seriously, yes it's incredibly insulting to his wife, and plus it's not like she's permanently disfigured so why is he acting so repulsed describing her as if she is the Hunchback of Notre Dame or something? I don't get it. Is he just doing it for attention for himself? He does seem to act in photos like she is his "beautiful doll", but then if he liked to show her off like look here's my beautiful doll, I don't really understand why all of a sudden he wants attention acting like now she is the Hunchback of Notre Dame??? Why the switch? Why the switch from she's so beautiful give me attention to she's just nauseatingly repulsive (and I'm sure she's not, bruises heal why the f&ck does he exagerate it so much) give me attention for that?!?!

I haven't seen it mentioned online as to where on her body she was branded. I've only seen that it was a "message". If someone branded a message on her body then I would think it would be someplace where it would always be seen, like on her face? Maybe that explains a lot of why they left town and don't plan on returning.

Confused said...

He said it wasn't on her face but he wouldn't say where it was.

I just feel like there is some reason for Keith's "switch" because I believe he is also responsible for Sherri's injuries.

So I just don't understand why a guy who is like "here's my beautiful doll" would suddenly be like "my wife is so grotesque you won't believe it"....it's just really strange..I truly don't understand it.

Then there's 100 lb Sherry but she is supposedly like some ass-kickin, gun-totin fighter girl?!?!

I seen this comment on another site and it does make sense:

Women also do this outta jealousy cuz person pretty n they wanna damage them..,women also known to cut off hair.women tend to take time n are vindictive and patient to torture but not kill.men usually dont distroy beauty and thier crimes are more sexual luke continuous rape.if they physically garm its usually beating or internal due to roughness in sex.form of torture electricity or cutting.

Women dont like blood n r usually squeemish so branding or burning with cigarrett is more common. Only broken nose is women mo.men will break other bones such ribs n impact to face due to strength can cause death or busted cheeck bones n teeth to get knocked out. Men tie up with zip ties cloth undergarments rope or just restrain with thier bare hands.a women would use chain...women think out before plan ahead.men more spontaneous.

THANK YOU PETER! I am so happy you did this analysis and verified what I have felt.

I think I was the first to post something about this case because when I saw him on TV..all I could think of was Davey. THat was my feeling of course, I had nothing to back it up because I'm not even a "novice" at SA and Peter came and cautioned me and some other posters about letting emotions interfere with the language. Which I had done for sure.

On Keith's 20/20 interview, he had to finally admit that he NEVER called her phone to see where she was. He first called his mother, than the daycare, then he immediately opened the find my IPHONE to track her phone. When I found that out, I thought domestic violence. He TRACKS her regularly so that was the first thing that came to mind. He tracks to control.

I transcribed several segments of his 20/20 interview...if you haven't watched it Peter, it is a DOOZY of an interview. Never have I seen someone sob their way thru an interview but have not one tear drop. It was amazing.

Sherri and Keith have been working overtime to scrub their SM. Practically all of it is gone. Unfortunately for them, they can't scrub the white supremacy rant because that is on the waybackmachine.
They've taken off, with all their new found money, to parts unknown with Keith hinting that they will not be back. There was much more cash than 50K. They did not shut down the gofundme for several days after she was found because the money was pouring in.

The sheriff is pissed at him and said he was "blindsided" by Keith spilling all those details which could be interpreted as Keith sabotaging the investigation.

Another glaring statement from the 20/20 interview for me was the day that Sherri was found. Keith was already up at 4:30 AM, grooming himself, shaving. His phone rang and he didn't recognize the number so he DIDNT ANSWER IT, he kept shaving. when his landline rang that was when he answered. You're wife is MISSING, and you don't answer the phone??? WTH?? It could have been HER! This just blew me out of the water..it could have been HER, having escaped, calling for you to save her and because you didn't recognize the number..you didn't answer. Shaving was much more important. SMH!

I will go back thru other threads and bring over as much transcription as I can from Keith's many media appearances and the 20/20

Again..thank you Peter. Fascinating.

On the man v. woman causing the injuries, I would say it was either him doing it or directing it based on his statements. He is obsessed with her looks and she may very well be too so if he wanted to hurt her, devalue her, etc., that's where he would strike.

Shades of CD but IMO, I think both Papinis have different mental conditionss.

Anon 123,

Yes, but if he gets his narcissistic supply from her looks why would he switch like that? He would be damaging his narcissistic supply? Am I not making sense how I am asking the question?

I agree he did it, but I don't understand it. All the pictures, it's like he's posing with his "beautiful doll"...almost seems like she's playing the role in a way like looking out at the camera in this frozen pose, frozen facial expression, frozen eyes like she is a doll.
Then all of a sudden he "switches" to wanting publicity that his wife is so grotesquely physically "disfigured"...
Doesn't make sense to me, but maybe I'm not articulating what I'm thinking well.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1:42, I think because he's controlling and jealous. "her" looks are "his" and he can do what he wants with them when he's angry. Just my sense of how his language plays out.

Between the 20/20 interview and his other appeals, Keith has been very generous with his verbal samples. Has he given you enough yet for him to have "told you" via SA what really happened? Or some approximation?

There are rumors on the net that her boyfriend or some past SO got out of jail around the time she went missing. I am wondering if she was planning on meeting him or if he contacted her etc... Generally, I am wondering if it is possible if Keith for some reason flew into a jealous rage (or for any other reason) and caused those injuries to Sherri and arranged this entire hoax as a cover. I agree it would be a long shot, but I haven't seen this theory floated, so I thought I'd put it out there. It is so weird to me that he knew her phone was by the mailbox yet never called it. Wouldn't the first thing you would do would be to call your wife if you were trying to figure out where she was? Why would you do everything but call the person you were looking for? I guess if you were afraid that, someone walking by might hear the phone ring and pick it up, thus ruining your carefully planted evidence. Anyway, that was a side note.

Best,
H.C.

Fria Tider reports that when the Church of the Holy Trinity in Kristianstad, Sweden embraced a group of Muslim asylum seekers, they were shocked to find that the Islamists took advantage of their generosity in the sickest ways.

1 church sweden

After housing the refugees, who are mostly men between the ages of 35 and 45, the congregants walked in to discover that the Muslims they gave food, shelter, and love were not only destroying the church property but were relentlessly urinating, defecating, and masturbating in the pews.

“HE WAS LYING IN THE PEW AND MASTURBATING,” CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR BENGT ALVLAND SAID OF ONE MIGRANT. “HE DID NOT STOP DESPITE THE FACT THAT A FEMALE POLICE OFFICER ASKED HIM TO. THERE ARE NO LIMITS OR INHIBITIONS FOR THESE PEOPLE. IT MAKES THE STAFF GREATLY CONCERNED.”

Aside from leaving their offensive bodily fluids everywhere, the migrants scream Islamic chants and smash liquor bottles on the floor in an attempt to silence Christian worshippers from praying to God. They also climbed up the massive church organ and tried to steal silver instruments used during services. In one instance, a migrant even tried to kidnap a child from a baptism ceremony right in front of the mother and priest.

The church is constantly littered with liquor bottles, bloody drug needles, and other trash. Officials have also witnessed brawls and threats of violence, according to Kristianstadsbladet. The refugees continue to inflict the most disrespectful behavior, expressing their belief that Islam is superior to all other religions.

After ignorantly welcoming in the Muslim migrants, the church is now pleading with the government to send them full-time security guards to prevent the asylum seekers from further desecrating their building.

Now, services attendance is dwindling and patrons are unwilling to hold their weddings, christenings, and baptisms in the once prestigious church because they are too afraid of the racist, bigoted migrants.

"And Lynda, him up at 4:30 shaving and not answering the phone? WHAT?"

****

I know, right?? It was surreal that he even said that on primetime and didn't think anything about it!

Keith's "sub-human" remark is a word that white supremacists use quite a bit. Comes from the Nazi "Untermensch"

even tho it is in my 25,000 word index, I don't recall EVER using that word.

I will try to work on a full transcription of Keith's 20/20 interview

Snippet of Keith's interview on 20/20

"She was a..BOUND, she had a metal, uh sorry, a chain around her waist, that is correct. She had a bag over her head, that is correct.
Her left hand was........in the vehicle chained to something. And she was..
Interviewer interrupts "To make sure she didn't jump out of the car."
Keith - Yeah, she was always, she was chained, anytime she was in a vehicle. They opened the door, she doesn't know cuz she had a bag over her head, they cut something to free her RESTRAINT that was holding her into the vehicle, and then, kind of pushed her out of the vehicle."

End of clip.

Keith has a very distinct way of talking. Remember how Chandler Bing on Friends would always put emphasis on a particular word in a sentence? Could that BE any funnier? That's how Keith talks. He puts a louder, harder emphasis on certain words

-----------------------------------
Keith : "I thought about her bein' there, screaming my name." (This is the second time Keith has used the phrase "screaming my name" The first time was shortly after she came up missing.

Keith: "They opened the door, she doesn't know cuz she had a bag over her head, they cut something to free her RESTRAINT that was holding her into the vehicle, and then, kind of pushed her out of the vehicle and she has, at this point has, no idea where she's at, and then, ran to the a, freeway.

Interviewer voice over explaining that motorists kept whizzing past her

Keith- " She screamed so much, she said she was coughing up,you know, like blood from the screaming, trying to get somebody to, you know, to stop. And again, just another sign of how (chuckles) my wife she's so unbelievable, she's, she's saying, Well maybe people aren't stopping because I have a chain, it looks like I broke outta prison, so she tried to tuck in the, her chain, under her clothes"

Keith explaining what he told his son upon Sherri's release:

"I sat him down, and I was on my knees and he was standing up,"And I said, 'You know what, buddy? I found mom,' and he got the biggest grin.'

Great analysis as always Peter!

I hadn't followed this story closely, but when she surfaced alive I started reading back through a few articles online. I found everything he said curious, and this statement is a doozy!

Interesting that he says he is "grateful" for social media helping to spread his wife's face/story to thousands, despite the "unfortunate" downside which left him disgusted and exhausted. Yet, social media didn't aid in her escape, or rescue. The thousands reached through social media played no role in her coming home alive, so what positive thing resulted from the thousands of people who's hearts were captured by Sherri? They donated money!

I also noted that in describing the first moment he saw Sherri in the hospital, he includes that officers told him to brace himself. I see this as an attempt to bolster just how horrific her injuries were, yet he only describes seeing bruises, and a broken nose. In my opinion, bruises are not horrific or traumatic injuries to view. I would think that bruises, scabs, weight loss, and cut hair would be a relief considering the alternatives.

All her physical injuries were superficial, which is also curious. It's just hard to believe that two kidnappers would hold someone captive for weeks, (risking severe penalties if caught) and only inflict low severity injuries, then just let the victim go to possibly identify them, their vehicle, etc.

I'm quite interested to hear the details of the "branding" he has described. When I first heard this, my mind immediately went to being burned by a cigarette, lighter, etc. I assumed since they were supposedly in a vehicle the entire time that he was speaking of something done as an act of cruelty, but fairly low impact. However, I later read that he said she was branded with "a message". I think this detail will be crucial in the unraveling of this case.

I also noted he made no mention that the kidnappers need to be caught, or fear that they could come back to harm Sherri, his family, or someone else.

""Dad,you know you can tell me anything."

Said NO 4 year old child ever..."

---------------------------------

My 21-year-old, when he was 4, seemed to be a small empathetic adult in some ways. A thoughtful communicative child could have said that, as my son surprised me once at that age by asking me "if I wanted to talk about it" once when I was just tired and stressed out.

His consideration surprised me at the time! Now, thinking about it and seeing how his personality has developed, and the adults he has spent time with - especially one of his Grandmothers... I grew up in a full home where my feelings were rarely inquired after. After marriage, my mother-in-law seemed to be rather nosy in comparison; always wanting to know everyone's business. This bothered me at first, but I soon realized is wasn't just nosiness, but love and concern.

My young son's time spent with his grandmother may have influenced his ability to just sit and share thoughts about "anything"; as this was something he did during his visits with her. 17 years later, they still enjoy talking about "anything" with each other.

My lengthy point is, the Papini child could well have stated this to Keith.

Another look at the statement might reveal:

Where did the son learn about caring discussions where one can talk about "anything"?
Are there discussions that the son is familiar with where one CAN'T talk about "anything"?
Is the son aware of times when one can't/doesn't talk about certain things?

I am blown away that a three week physical ordeal would only result in several hours in the hospital if I am recalling this detail correctly. If she were as bad as we are to fathom, it would take much longer to carefully psychologically assess her needs, rehydrate/provide nutrition for her, assess for internal damage (x-rays, CT's, MRI's, possibility of internal bleeding or brain concussions), and watch her lab results for internal changes they might mitigate (such as blood loss, muscle damage indicators, infections, or kidney function, etc). It's not like she's swinging by the ER for strep throat at 2am on a Saturday and needs a quick prescription. She could have signed out AMA (Against Medical Advice), but she would be putting her health at further risk.

Anonymous said...

I have read many articles on this and there are various comments from people living in the community, or people she went to school with, etc who state that she was always dramatic. She would invent stories, illnesses, etc.

Some examples: http://umbrellaofsuspicion.com/2016/11/is-racist-rant-a-motive-in-sherri-papini-abduction/#disqus_thread

I was very good friends with Sherri in high school, and we spent a ton of time together. This entire article is fabricated. Aside from the fact that our high school had like 5 Latino people in it, I don't recall her getting into even a single fight. One thing I learned about Sherri is that at any point she lives multiple realities, and she doesn't ever really let them meet up. In school she claimed her dad and mom were abusive toward her, among other family issues. Well here she's claiming they were all love and support. Gah, all of this just smacks of the drama and attention seeking that drove our friendship apart so many years ago, but now on an almost national scale... seriously though nobody will ever know who she really is.

And this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/MarkMyWords/comments/5f8kpb/mmw_sherri_papini_is_lying_about_her_abduction/

I used to know her in 2002-2005 or so and she had this "heart condition" that would often flare up and cause her extreme pain.. always seemed to happen when she wasn't getting enough attention.
Once, she was camping with a bunch of our friends and another girl got hypothermia from the ice cold lake. While the group was taking the girl to the ER.. Sherri's heart happened to flare up right then...
I think this speaks greatly of her character and what kind of lies she's capable of brewing.

There are many more stories. Some speculate that she has Munchhausen syndrome.

In my experience, the simplest explanation is usually the most accurate. I believe she and her husband made this up, perhaps for money or attention. There is probably something more with the story, given that they left town so quickly. I feel certain her parents knew of the plot given their lack of worry shown on social media.

California Highway Patrol should have camera footage of when they picked Sherri up. Would this be available upon request, and how could one obtain this? It would answer a lot of questions that are stirring about her appearance, including her injuries and her hair. I've seen several times on the net that the lady who called 911 reported seeing her long blonde hair, which doesn't match Keith's statement about her hair being cut off.

Mandee JP said...

I would be interested to know if any of the scrubbed social media was voyeurisitic in nature. With some kind of following. Some exchange for money.
-addressing thousands of people (like an online community?)
-"communities" (which is a web word, as in virtual?) around the world
-"that have never known Sherri" how would they know her, was she well known?  One might wonder if the subject (speaker) has plans to reach these "incredible humans" (those that gave money are "humans") by introducing Sherri to them. How might he "introduce" her to thousands? Online?
- Sherri "has always captured my heart"
brings into question the consistency of having his heart captured by someone whom he "shares", verbally, in a statement. Does he share her in other ways?
-She was "captured" and people are there in angering, expectant positions( sitting at their computers?) waiting for all the "gory details". Why angry was this promised or eluded to in some way? What are they expecting? What other details?
-There is irritation at some wanting immediate gratification. Strange term again is there something expected in exchange for $? Some sick gratification? A reality hoax? For an audience?
-I am grateful for this system, as it is what spread my wife's face quickly throughout the world, gaining the attention of thousands. Is he marketing her?
- it was "exhausting" and "disgusting." Could he be describing keeping up with some demands on some website or web community?
-he believes "people" want the story, with pictures.  Who is asking for pics? Part of some fetish community?
-Signature long blonde hair,  what she's known for? To whom? Her body description was important to "share".
-Gives alot of detail about her chains and her bondage, none about the kidnappers.
-Feels the need to share Sherri was taken from "us"? Who is us? Again sharing her.
-Attempts to convince that whatever is being thought about her injuries (almost a deep thought? A Fantasy?) assuring that the reality is more graphic and gruesome. As in better?
- it's clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with before. "Exposed" He doesn't want what they had been "exposing" found?

He mentioned lights being off, the doors being shut, is this indication of some sexual abuse?

Reading the posts of her former friend regarding her drama and attention seeking is making things come together for me. The apparent lack of concern of her mother, Keith not answering his phone and not calling her phone, no mention of trying to find the abductors and Keith's statement are making the picture more clear. I think Sherri made up the story, Keith knows it was made up. I want to read his statement again, but I think he is telling the story she asked him to tell and that explains his lack of statement about his concern for her. He is angry about having to tell the story and face the doubters.

According to some high school classmates who attended school with Sherri as posted online, she was quite the girly girl attention seeker who made up stories. Her former hairdresser was glad to be rid of her due to.Sherries obsessive defiant behavior. I think it was Rreddit that has all of this but not certain as there are a couple of blogs about this case. One person said Sherri definitely has BPD....borderline personality disorder. If that be true and Keith the narcacist, gosh what a delight this couple makes for the psychiatrist's couch! I wonder if his controlling behavior is because when she goes "off the rails" so to speak he has to do damage control? Otherwise the men in white coats and restraints might be called for and his narcacistic pride couldn't abide that? If this story is a total hoax then we should all be outraged because of the time and money spent on this from law enforcement and kind humans , not subhumans who gave out of their pockets. Plus the fact of possibly trying to increase racial tension.....the supposed two Hispanic female perps. I know I'm not posting anything new but just had to vent as this couple is pathetic. Sherri does remind me of that woman schoolteacher MaryKay Letourneau... who married her grade school student Vili Fulau. She and Sherri both have the delicate beauty, small build and attention seeking personality, lying tendencies. Wanna bet that Sherri has been treated for mental disorder in the past..?

If Sherry has BPD, or even some form of Munchausen's, this doesnt negate the possibility of Keith abusing her, or the fact she may have had an abusive family (this often is the cause of BPD is severe abuse in early childhood).
Keith uses the language of control and domestic violence. Further, Keith displays extreme narcissism and attention-seeking language. Even further, Keith's language reveals strong sadistic tendencies combined with evidence he has whipped Sherri in the past or actually branded her--where else would he get the language "I felt her scabs riss beneath my fingers." This is the language of someone who inflicts harm and then "admires" his work.
Sherri's parents reaction to their daughter being missing--what it is is really a lack of reaction--where Donald Trump and local restaurants are more important--are merely indicative of the extreme lack of emotional validation and concern towards a child that could cause BPD.
If anyone does appear to have a form of Munchausens it is Keith who seems to have Munchausen by Proxy. It is evident in the way he treated his wife like a doll as well as the way he SEEKS ATTENTION BASED ON AN EXAGGERATED AND EXTREME FOCUS ON HIS OWN REACTIONS TO SHERRY'S INJURIES ie. "You just cant imagine how revulsive her injuries are". MSBP people are very sick in the head, which Keith seems to be as well as lacking empathy. His exaggeration of her mental torture ie. "She rolled up a blanket and pretended it was her baby and rocked it" IS CLASSIC MSBP. These MSBP people are absolutely sick in the head and very dangerous. Their thinking is so devious and lacking in empathy it is hard for an average person to comprehend how deviant they are.
I ask that people here focus on Peters analysis of Keiths language and not jump on a victim-blaming bandwagon towards Sherri. Focus on Keiths psychpathology if you want to understand what was done to Sherri. Keith is already attempting to gain more medical attention by suggesting Sherri now has post-trauma mental problems that HE will need professional help with.

My thoughts: The phrase 'our girl' is like describing a mascot, you use mascots to sell something. The mascot is for show, a kind of advertising. (think of the GEICO lizard). A book maybe, the Go-fund-me for sure. Example-- "Let's give it up for our girl" said at some sporting event.

The bit about 'scanning with hands' is creepy, intimate, and feels wrong here. His description is what you would do on finding a lost property, scan for damage- like your horse was stolen, so you feel its legs, etc. Also the horse can not tell you what happened. In fact, most of his story could be about a doll- funny someone above compared her to one of those inanimate sex dolls. No one appears to care much in their family- I heard they moved and left their dogs behind.

Agree no four-year-old ever said 'you can tell me anything"

Head covered for 3 weeks? never saw captors? What about when they grabbed her- were they driving around town in masks? Wouldn't that get unwanted attention? She saw eyes and ears and hair- through her mask? How did she see pieces of her captors? If they walked up and she could she through 'slits' in the mask - you would see the whole person when they were across the room.

Always chained in a car? That statement implies more than once. They spent time and energy bundling a masked chained woman into a car? driving her around? Why? Threw her out of a car with a chain on?? I would think one would get very cut up rolling around with a loose chain.

Also didn't he tell his kids he would have her home by Thanksgiving? Amazing that he hit the exact day!! Incredible prediction!

People always do things for a reason. 1. Why would 2 women kidnap Sherri, hold her captive, beat her, break her nose, brand her, cut off her hair? Not feed her. These things are hard to do- beating someone takes effort. Branding even more so. Although some branding is popularly done for appearance, somewhat like tattoos. Sex trafficking- why ruin her looks? Plus she is not very young. If she didn't work out for a sex slave- why release her to tell her story and risk prosecution? Wouldn't they have just killed her out right? 2. Revenge for her racism? Why risk jail for that? 3. Ransom? Why damage her so much? Why let her go without receiving the ransom? There is no sensible motive for the 2 women.

The idea that she might have had some sort of plastic surgery is interesting... Did the Fund-me money pay for that? Especially if the 'brand' is somewhat attractive.

Also the cops are not sure of the story- they are using odd language like 'maybe' and 'perhaps'.

John quoted:

“When the lights are off, when doors shut, when she hears certain sounds, I mean, it’s something that I don’t know how to deal with, and we’ll need somebody who can help her through that from a professional standpoint,” Keith said.

This quote bothered me. Lights and doors, in one sentence. . . John Ramsey like.

Husbands and wives "entering into" each others' internal dictionaries is a separate study within statement analysis. It takes quite a bit of analysis to discern, as well as a fulfilled context.

It is not evident in this statement.

These are his words, distinctly masculine, controlling and narcissistic- like.

The words promote self, not his wife and the victim, in this case, is a very low priority.

Interesting comments from everyone.

What is even freakier than everything that has been stated, I am not seeing specific linguistic evidence that convinces me that the "released Sherri" is actually the real Sherri. There is just nothing statement-wise from Keith that convinces me that he had any previous relationship or familiarity with the "released Sherri", in other words, like the "released Sherri" could actually be a different person. I know this may sound outlandish, yet it is how I feel about his statements, nevermind, since he is speaking to "the entire world" wouldn't he want to give the world "closure" on this saga by either showing a picture of Sherri reunited with him and the kids or at least simply release some kind of statement from her however brief???

"I mean, it’s something that I don’t know how to deal with, and we’ll need somebody who can help her through that from a professional standpoint,” Keith said.

He says something similar to this at the end of every interview, he is telling the public he is keeping the donation money, not paying the remainder forward to another missing person case, and also that they need an unknown amount of future funds, for her mental health, and even his. He wants to open another donation account very badly, but he knows it will not be well received.

What Happened to Sherri Papini’s Schoolmate Who Also Vanished 18 Years Ago in the Same City?

On Aug. 22, 1998, Tera Smith, then 16 and the high school homecoming queen of the freshman class, left home in Redding, California, dressed to go jogging.

She was never seen again.

Sherri Papini — a mom of two and former schoolmate of Tera’s who disappeared 18 years later during a jog in Redding about two-and-a-half miles from where Tera vanished — had a luckier outcome: She was found alive, but beaten and chained, on Thanksgiving morning, following an apparent abduction.

Papini’s case continues to baffle investigators — and it bears some seemingly baffling similarities to Smith’s case, though Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko tells PEOPLE investigators “have not developed any evidence the two cases are linked.”

Still, several days after Papini disappeared, her husband, Keith Papini, reached out to Smith’s father for advice.

“Keith came to me, and we spoke for about an hour,” Terry Smith tells PEOPLE. “I just told him to stay strong for his kids and not assume law enforcement has the answers and to push them.

“It was obvious Keith was torn up,” Terry says, “and I believe he was confident he’d get his wife back.”

Sherri’s case “brought back some very vivid memories and our hearts went out to Keith and his kids,” Terry says. “We know how it feels. That hopelessness and having nothing to go on is familiar.” Tera’s sister Kyra, was in the same grade as Sherri; Tera was a year older.

My quibble is why is this guy with his own "a team" still speaking
for Sherri? Has Sherri lost the powers of speech?

I also wondered if this episode could be an elaborate ruse to hide plastic surgery.

Sherri's old skinhead post reads to me to be a trolling comment. Trolling for men.

Her first marriage ended in divorce. She was single at the time and trying to snag a new guy. Any guy, even a narcissistic white supremacist???

She talks on her wedding blog of wanting everything to be so so perfect with Keith, and it is her second marriage. She doesn't appear to reference being married before, as if it is her first marriage. It appears that the date with Keith was repeatedly postponed.

I would venture that she finally snagged him with a pregnancy.
They were married August 2012, and their oldest child is four.

The wedding blog text was copied here but the original links have been taken down.

- it's clear we had to be exposed in ways we never would have been comfortable with before. "Exposed" He doesn't want what they had been "exposing" found?

What does it's clear we had to be exposed mean? Embedded admission? Exposed in committing fraud? Exposed to risk? If he is really referring to publicity, what were they hiding before when avoiding publicity?

the phrase "our girl" strikes me as demeaning. It's not obvious who is part of the "our" but from the context it sounds like him and their children. She is not a girl to her kids. In a healthy relationship, she wouldn't be a girl to him. Men often refer to women as girls in a subjugating way (think girl Friday, referring to the secretary as "my girl," as in "I'll have my girl take care of it," etc.) He may intend for the public to see it as endearing but it really isn't endearing at all.

It's hard for me to keep a cool detachment when following cases like this one and the Blackburn case because of my strong reaction to the duplicity of both KP and DB. I wouldn't be a good juror or detective or anything because when I see them purposely misrepresenting who they really are, I lose all objectivity and want to yell "GUILTY!!!" and throw 'em in jail and throw away the key.

Anonymous said...

My reaction is way overboard, and it happens when I see the TV interviews, not so much stuff in print. It happened to me when I saw DB in TV interviews, and then again watching KP. I yell "LIAR!!!!" and them I "absolutely know" they are guilty and need to be locked up for life, immediately. Ha ha.

Anonymous said...

Also, once that switch is flipped in my brain, going forward I see them as the lowest of the low. Like, I couldn't stand seeing photos of DB, and now that's how I feel about KP. I see them as "all bad". So, good thing I'm not a judge or something like that!

I think he said he looked around and then called daycare to see what time the kids were collected. THEN he checked and saw her phone was a mile away by the mailbox, so he went to find her and the kids.

I am also skeptical, but this KIND OF made sense. What does he do for a living? If it is tech related, he might do this...

I have almost completed the transcription of Keith's 20/20 interview and will post shortly.

I would point out that Tera Smith, Sherri's classmate that is also missing, is being thrown into the mix now. I feel it is for the sole purpose to distract. If I'm not mistaken, Keith and Gamble are the ones that brought this into the arena and "if you say it enough, it becomes the truth"..

Tera Smith is missing and presumed dead. She was having an affair with her married Karate instructor and Tera's parents, along with most of LE believe he is the one who killed her..they just can't prove it. If anyone reads up on the case they can see it has absolutely ZERO to do with Sherri..It's an insult to Tera to have her disappearance be lumped in with Sherri IMO

Her wedding was postponed because she hooked up with Keith while she was still married. Then she had to get a divorce. That took a bit. I think it lends a lot of insight that on her wedding blog she talks about how she has never lived with a man before and hopes it goes well..uh...SHE WAS MARRIED BEFORE..

lynda,
Sherri's schoolmate's disappearance is relevant because of the similarities. Both in the same town, both while jogging, both pretty blondes, etc. You say Keith and Cameron brought the Tera Smith story into the mix? Consider this: Perhaps Keith and Sherri (and Cameron?) had the Tera Smith story in their minds, leading up to Sherri's "disappearance".

There is a picture posted on her mothers facebook after Sherri returned home. Her face doesn't appear to have single bruise. Keith was nauseated at the sight of her battered body. Bruised ranging yellow to black? Early bruises are red, purple almost black. After week or more they turn yellow and it takes 10 or more days. Guess her captors beat her first day only? Just thought it interesting Keith described the "gory" details and colors of bruises. Broke nose? He did say bruised from repeated beatings. Also in 20/20 he said he got phone call that morning and his reply to Sherri was "oh you're here, you're back, where are you". This just sounds weird?

Continuing to draw parallels only distracts from the more relevant facts and observations, creating a viral sensation of misinformation, please, for the love of justice, stop.

Off Topic (Personal Question): Can someone explain to me why someone would send someone a text saying how much they miss them but when the recipient responds to the " i miss you" text 2 hours after receiving it, the text they send turns from blue to green (doesnt that indicate the person texting has texted I miss you and then blocked the person right after sending the i miss you text?). So the person who received the "i miss you" continues on with their life thinking it is strange but whatever. Then about 2 days later gets a facebook friend request from the individual who wrote the "i miss you" text. Can someone explain why someone would do those things bc it seems so strange and doesnt seem to make logical sense?

I noticed that he used the word TAKEN instead of kidnapped or abducted. "I knew she was TAKEN." Like Project Taken.

Anonymous said...

Woah 5:49. I hadn't noticed that - really good point!! Using the word "taken" would be soooo far down on my list. I would say "She's missing!" or "She never came home!" or "She must be in some kind of trouble!" But I don't think I would say "She's been taken!"

6:41, thanks for clarifying and I see what you mean about that post. To 5:48: I understand how you are feeling because I've been there. Here's what I know now, looking back: It's a long wide road ahead. He/she isn't worth your time. Be grateful to be alive, and forget that person, and get on with your life.

Hmmm... stranger things have happened!

Anonymous said...

@6:54, Yes great advice...my question, however, was very specific. I simply was curious as to "why" someone would do that, as Im unable to picture what the person's train of thought could have been ie. Text someone telling them how much you miss them, then immediately block them right after sending the text, then 2 days later send them a facebook friend request?! The behavior seems bizarre and I know we study psychopathology here so I thought maybe someone here might have insight into that type of abnormal behavior?

Anonymous said...

@7:03,

Just based on what you said:

"Text someone telling them how much you miss them, then immediately block them right after sending the text, then 2 days later send them a facebook friend request."

Just based on that, I wouldn't spend one second trying to "figure out" that person's motivation.

Instead, I would stop communication with that person, and I would move on with my life. There are lots of fish in the sea.

Don't let an abusive relationship put you into a hole. Just leave.

Anonymous said...

I would like to know the motivation. Was the person's actions motivated by extreme cowardice ie. "Im telling you how I feel, but oh my gosh Im too scared to hear what your reaction will be, what if it's not a positive reaction?" Or was it motivated by sociopathy...a deliberate manipulation ie. "I'll tell you I miss you and then immediately block you before you can respond hahahahaha!"

Here is complete transcript of Keith Papini interview on 20/20

K - I remember everything about that day. Around 6:50 AM, my wife was on her way to, uh, go check on our daughter Violet, and we uh, we met there at the door, I gave her a kiss, a hug, went right out the door

Now...Keith has arrived home after work

K: I pulled up. I uh, I saw our, our car there and I opened the door expecting my son comes 100 miles an hour right at me, and then usually uh, Violet, right, right behind him. We do what we call our family snuggles, *chuckles*

K: I looked in a few different rooms and I couldn’t find anybody. I thought, Ok, maybe, maybe they’re outside and um, I looked around outside , and at the time I was like, well you know, I’m sure they’re all together. You know, I had no reason to believe otherwise.

K: I did the, ya know, find my iphone app, and it showed where her phone was so I assumed that’s where she was and I assumed that the kids were with her

I: Where did the find my phone app show where Sherri was?

K: On a, near our mailbox. Which is a ways away. It’s about a mile away *Chuckles* actually.

I: Are you worried?

K: Not quite yet. So I got in her car and immediately drove to the end of my mailbox, and I
Was anticipating that I would see her. I then uh, called my mom, and asked her if they spoke, and she said she hadn’t.

Voiceover...then Keith calls the daycare center

K: First thing I said is, what time did Sherri pick up the kids today? And when she said, the kids are here, that was like, something is wrong, it, there’s something wrong right now.

Voiceover...talking about their fairytale, rare love story dating back to seventh grade kiss. When they hooked up years later, Keith had saved all the notes that she had written him back in the 7th grade..

K: I, I remembered that all these years ago, I kept her notes that she wrote me and I dug ‘em out , and I handed her a box and it was of course, it was like all her little notes back and forth.

Voiceover...how Keith proposed

K: I was just head over heels for her and I knew I wanted to marry this girl.

Voiceover ..they are fairytale couple, she’s a princess he’s a prince. All their photos look like they were ripped from a glossy magazine. There is now a mini interview with Sherri’s sister explaining what makes Sherri a “supermom”. Things like waking up and having the kids dressed and making their food and planning their day but she’s so much more, she’s also a “superwife” because when she makes a pie, she doesn’t just make a pie, she makes it look gorgeous.

Back to Keith driving to the mailboxes because that’s where app says phone is…

K: Again, I wasn’t looking for a phone. I was looking for Sherri. When I didn’t find Sherri, I went to the other road, came right back, and I parked, and I got out, and now I’m looking for a phone cuz it’s saying, it’s here, it’s here. And it did not take me long. It was right off the road

Voiceover...Keith is stunned!

lynda said...

continued...

K: If she woulda lost her phone, driving home one day, an an, she put it on the roof of the car and it fell off, okay, whatever, I can see that happening but the cars are home and the kids are at school I, I knew something was wrong.

Voiceover..Keith is in full crisis mode, he TAKES 2 PICS OF SHERRIS PHONE LYING IN THE GRASS and calls 911. He doesn’t pick up the phone..he takes 2 pics!

K: I wanted to make a clear message...this is real, you, you need to get here now. I don’t know how many phone calls 911 gets on this particular thing. 90% of the time you know, they went to the store, or they’re hiding under the bed, it’s, it’s, not that. I KNEW she was taken.

Voiceover...Sherri’s gone, how will Keith tell his son?

K: I picked him up and (sob) and, uh, I told him I had something important to tell him, and he jumped,(sob) he jumped up on the couch with me and he knew, he knew something was up and he said, “Dad you can tell me anything.”

Voiceover...the search begins..lot of footage of search but it was not enough for Keith

K: Did I want more? Ah, of course! I wanted the Marines, the Army, *chuckle* I wanted a, a SWAT team to ah, break in every home in a 10 mile radius. I’m gonna do everything I can to find my wife.

Voiceover...sister, SIL, cops talking what they were doing. They talk about a lead from gas station where woman thought she saw her...LE has discounted this . They talk about how private Keith is but he begins making tv appearances.

(This is clip from previous TV appearance while Sherri is still missing)

K: If we can get it everywhere as I’m sure all of you would do if your, if your wife, uh, or husband, or whatever was missing, you would do everything you can and that’s , that’s what I’m doing.

Voiceover...back to present ...searches, yellow ribbons, posters

K: I’m just wondering about her health, are they feeding her? You know, is she hot, is she cold, er, I mean, just little h-horrible things that I would go thru. I thought about that. I thought about her being there, screaming my name and uh, that I wasn’t there that, that really, you know, that that really got to me.

Voiceover about Keith’s despair

K: * Big sigh* There was a moment where we were heading back, after we, you know, did a few mile search, and ahm, we look up and we start to see some birds circling and I started walking and I just went to my knees (Sobbing...no tears) and uh, I thought am I really, am I really, hiking out here to look for my wife? And do I even wanna, I don’t want to find her right now, but I do want to find her. One of my good friends came over and just, you know, hugged me and let me cry on her shoulder for a little bit, and I, it was, it was, a very sad and a very emotional, and uh, angry moment for me and um, um, I’m very glad they were with me. To kind of pick me up and (sobbing..no tears) and it was a...that was a, that was a, tough one for me that day.

I: With all your agony, you still have 2 little kids to think about

K: Fortunately, I have an amazing family and amazing friends, and they really, really came to the rescue. On that. Kept them happy, kept them out of this.

Voiceover ...after a couple of weeks Keith has to tell the kids..his 4 year old son

lynda said...

continued...

K: I picked him up and (sob) and, uh, I told him I had something important to tell him, and he jumped,(sob) he jumped up on the couch with me and he knew, he knew something was up and he said, “Dad you can tell me anything.” (Sobs) For a little 4 year old to say that , chuckle, I wasn’t prepared for that so I just said son, you know ah, mommy went running and she couldn’t, she didn’t come home and we’re, we’re all looking for her right now. We just held each other and, and I said uh, he said, “are you looking for her” and I said, everybody in the whole world is looking for her right now (chuckle). And I said, and we’re gonna find her and, we’re gonna get her back.

Voiceover...Sherri is gone but pic is everywhere. Keith sees his son in front of one of the pics

K: He was just standing there and he had is left hand over her face, (sobbing no tears) he was just staring at her, and uh, he was just sitting there you know, tears in his eyes, with his hand on her face.

Voiceover ...talking to police , police not committing to abduction or voluntary

K: I know she was taken, my family knows she was taken, but you’re obviously not gonna come out and say that abduction because you don’t have the evidence? And that was a little rough for me to hear but ….

Flashback to previous interview with Keith before Sherri was found…

K: I’m coming honey, I’m trying, I’m doing everything I can, and , and I love you

Voiceover - Keith is keeping his options open and he forces himself to grant interviews to keep her name out there.

Flashback interview

K: It is very difficult for me and my family. I would never wish this feeling upon anybody, it is taking its toll on me

Voiceover about public skepticism, and the need to eliminate Keith as suspect since Keith has provided all the “found” evidence so far. This is where Sheriff says that phone looked “placed” there on side of road with earbuds rolled up and “set” neatly on the phone screen.

Present day

I: You’re wife vanished…

K: mmmm..hmmm

I: and you’re the prime suspect

K: I never uh….felt that

I: You never felt that??

K: I didn’t, it never occured to me at first that people would think it was me

Sister voice...she knew it wasn’t Keith because not only is Sherri supermom, he is superman. You can only hope that your daughter could find a man so loving and so dedicated . Keith submits to poly

I: Did they ask you if you had anything to do with Sherri’s disappearance?

K: Oh of course, and I was like, to me it was like, no problem, let’s hurry up and get this over with
Voiceover...Sheriff says he passed, not a suspect. But now there are NO suspects

I: There’s no suspects, no viable tips, do you begin to lose hope?

K: * Big Drawn out Sigh* I don’t think I ever lost hope but it was really ...it was eating away at me big time.

Flashback interview to before sherri was found
K: “Im getting very angry and frustrated and I’m I’m scared, um, for my wife

Voiceover...talking about Gofundme and the introduction of the whack job C. Gamble with his ransom..

I: You don’t know who the anonymous person is?

K: No..chuckle..I…

I: It’s anonymous to you as well?

K: Yes

(It has now been proven that Sherri had some time of relationship with Cameron Gamble’s wife as she commented and “liked” SM posts that she had made.)

lynda said...

Voiceover introducing Cameron Gamble. They obviously have not done any in depth background as many things have come out about him and his shadiness...20/20 does not touch on any of that and Gamble goes on about look at Sherri..she’s not the type of girl to walk away, Keith is not faking it. (This from someone who is a stranger??) Keith is so frustrated he is thinking about psychics so when Gamble contacts him to say what he wants to do...Keith agrees.

K: There was no idea or thought that if I think could work, that I was not going to try.

Voiceover...Gamble releases tape. Short interview. LE thinks he is a nuisance.

I: The Sheriff was adamantly opposed..

K: Yeah

K: For me, I was going to do anything I could to get my wife back

Voiceover...Gamble reenacts the Mel Gibson scene from “Ransom” jeesh..

I: And then what did you think about making it a bounty once the ransom was off the table
K: Scoffs, CHuckles..I was all for that

Voiceover - recap and then the day! A balloon release had been scheduled.

K: We wanted to do something very special a, a, real close person in my life mentioned, well what about a balloon release? You know, we’re all looking for ya, and here’s just a symbol, here’s home and I really liked that.

Voiceover - Keith is in constant pain and his phone rings constantly

I: Very early in the morning…

K: mmm..hmmm

I: Thanksgiving day, you get a phone call

K: It rang, I think I was shaving at the time, so I kinda looked over and I didn’t , did not recognize the number…

Interviewer interrupts...you didn’t pick it up

K: I didn’t hear it in time cuz I only got like the last 2 rings (HE JUST SAID 2 seconds ago he didn’t recognize the number!)

Voiceover...blah, blah..it’s Sherri!

K: Immediately after that my home phone rang, I pick it up, it was (sobbing no tears) my WIFE, s..screaming, in the background, yelling my name and a CHP officer said, I need you to be calm, I need you to be calm,

lynda said...

continued...

Interviewer interrupts..are you panicked at first? You’re hearing her scream?

K: I’m panicked, but I’m happy, I, I, cuz at this point, this is the first time I’ve heard her voice, I know she’s alive.

I: And you hear..

K: And I hear screams and then I get the phone and “oh my God honey” course she’s screaming, it’s very emotional and uh, I love you, I love you, Ilove you, oh my God you’re here, you’re back, where are you?

Voiceover...sherri has spoken publicly, her account comes solely from her husband

K: "She was a..BOUND, she had a metal, uh sorry, a chain around her waist, that is correct. She had a bag over her head, that is correct, and, and, I can’t remember if it’s her right or her left arm was chained to the chain and Her left hand was........in the vehicle chained to something. And she was..

Interviewer interrupts "To make sure she didn't jump out of the car."

Keith - Yeah, they cut something to free her RESTRAINT that was holding her into the vehicle, and then, pushed her out and drove away. Sherri has one free hand and took a bag off her head.and she has, at this point has, no idea where she's at, she runs to a house, and didn’t look, what she says, is very inviting, she ran to another building , could not get into that building, and then a, ran to the freeway.

***I am going to insert here the teaser transcription of the 20/20 interview. It is of the same time, but the language and chain of events is somewhat different, as is the language. What follows is what did NOT make it to the finished product/ 20/20 interview but it was still said by Keith..
________________________________________________________________
“Her left hand was........in the vehicle chained to something. And she was.
.
Interviewer interrupts "To make sure she didn't jump out of the car."
Keith -” Yeah, she was always, she was chained, anytime she was in a vehicle. They opened the door, she doesn't know cuz she had a bag over her head, they cut something to free her RESTRAINT that was holding her into the vehicle, and then, kind of pushed her out of the vehicle."

Present interview with 20/20

Voiceover...Sherri is trying to flag down a car

continued

K: People were driving past her and not stopping. In her mind, she’s frightened, she’s scared, She screamed so much, she said she was coughing up,you know, like blood from the screaming, trying to get somebody to, you know, to stop. And again, just another sign of how (chuckles) my wife she's so unbelievable, she's, she's saying, Well maybe people aren't stopping because I have a chain, it looks like I broke outta prison, so she tried to tuck in the, her chain, under her clothes. I, I don’t know reaction anybody has to that but to me, I’m just like….

Interviewer interrupts...I’m surprised she thought of that

Witness first spots Sherri on roadway..blah blah

K: The paramedics were finally talking to her , they were the first people to tell her, Happy Thanksgiving. And then she’s like, Oh it’s Thanksgiving night? And they were like, no, it’s Thanksgiving morning.

Keith races to the hospital

K: The entire like hospital was on like, lockdown. Eventually they opened the door. One of the officers kinda like braced me, kinda put him arm around me and he said, that, uh (choking up can’t talk) you know, prepare yourself, umm..she’s alive uh, and you just gotta be happy They branded her. *Big sigh* So I just wanted to see her so I just ran past everybody and I, you know, throw open the curtain, and then she was there lying in a bed and her poor face. And I just hugged her, I just held her. I felt like I hugged her for like, 20 minutes. I was so happy that she was there haaa..you know, just kiss her all over and then, got like, nauseated just looking at her.

K: It’s so hard for me to see her like that..mm

I: Keith, a couple times you said her face, her poor face

K: Yeah

I: What did you see?

K: The bruises were just intense, the bumps, from you know, being hit and kicked and whatever else. Everyone gets a bruise once in awhile but not these types, I mean these were hard to look at. Her hair, she’s always had very long blond hair, you know, they, they chopped it off…

I: I just need to know cuz I was worried when you said her face, her face, they didn’t brand her face, right?

K: I will say that no..its not on her face, no.

I: She lost over 15% of her body weight?

K: Oh yeah

I: In 22 days

K: Oh yeah, Oh yeah

I: That is traumatic..

K: It made me SICK…... that there is people out there ……..that could do something like this. I just wanted to hold her, and uh, we just had oh..and uh, we just embraced each other, cried.together and uh, (keith stops to wipe his face all over with his hands tho there are no tears present) uh, I mean, I was so happy though. I mean, how, how do you explain that you’re upset and everything at what happened but you’re happy.

lynda said...

continued

Voiceover...the balloon release goes on even tho Sherri was found 4 hours previously. I guess no one thought to tell all those people! The sheriff says her description is “a needle in the haystack” but Sherri begins to open up more…..

I: Did she know the people she was with ?

K: No.

I: Did she ever see them?

K: I will share with you that their faces were always covered. I can tell you that there was, you know, guns involved.

I: Was she overpowered?

K: She didn’t voluntarily get into a vehicle if that’s what you’re asking

I: Very few people get abducted in broad daylight…

K: Shoulder shrug..uh huh

I: But the fact that there were two women…

K: mmm..hmmm

I: that were behind this is even more shocking.

K: But also makes more sense to me.

I: Why?

K: If a vehicle pulled up with 2 big dudes in it , would you approach that vehicle being a 100 lb. woman..if 2 women pull up, and lets say they ask you for help, that makes more sense to me.

Voiceover...Sherri was driven 2 ½ hours non stop that first night….

K: She literally lived thru hell. The things she told me that she did (sobs no tears) acting like she was tucking in our kids and she told me one time she took some piece of cloth and rolled it up like it was Violet, she would rock it. She’s so strong.

I: That’s the will to survive

K: yeah

Voiceover with cops going over descriptions of suspects, friends comment on meth problem, sex offenders in area though none are suspects, talking about different theories and if they are instigating a hoax. They go over parts of Keiths first statement about the hate and how exhausting it is..

K: I think these people take cheap shots no matter what.

Gamble throws in that it is obvious sex trafficking but then all the sex trafficking experts weigh in that it is NOT..they talk about cults (Bethel church anyone?) The healing begins..

K: That’s such a great support, from my family, my friends, the whole community, the whole world reached out and I’m so grateful for that.

I: Literally, the most horrible thing you can imagine came to your front door..

K: Correct. And that’s the mystery, why? I, I don’t have the answer and I can’t explain it.

I: it could not be over, they’re still out there, that must be terrifying for a dad like you

It’s terrifying but you know what? My famiy’s with me now, I think of it differently now, CLEARLY...I want justice. But right now I’m just happy that my wife is back. I don’t have to raise my kids without her.

K: The lights are off, when doors shut , when she hears certain sounds, I mean, it’s, it’s something that I don’t know how to deal with and, and we’ll need somebody that you know, can help her thru that from a professional standpoint. It’s not just a long road I mean it’s we’ll, its something we’re never gonna forget.

K: I said, you know what buddy? I found mom. And..he, chuckle, he got the biggest grin and he started like, you know, where is she, and he just sprinted 100 miles an hour. I was like, go slow, go slow, and he hugged her and my wife obviously, very emotional and started crying and she said, I’m so happy and my son of course is like, you don’t cry when you’re happy and, and uh, my wife said , When you’re this happy, you cry.

I: Then it was 2 year old Violet’s turn

K: She just said, Mommy, and just took off running and she picked her up and then again, just snuggled and kisses. My son jumped into my arms and we were all hugging and went to the ground for family snuggles, it makes me smile, we’re back, we’re whole

I suppose it doesn't really matter what the specific motivation was, the root of such stupid and bizarre behavior surely was cowardice, seeing as how this person stands out in my mind as being the biggest sniveling coward I have ever known. It must be suck to be so undignified, but it's not my problem. It's that person's problem. It must suck for them to everyday know that they are nothing of what a man was meant to be...instead a selfish sniveling coward with no foundation of dignity behind any of their actions. And yes I will take your advice; I won't be communicating again with this individual through any means. I shouldn't ever have to so much as encounter even momentarily his complete lack of manliness and overwhelming cowardice.

Thanks Lynda. I remember Keith being asked about the polygraph or asked about being interviewed by police and asked whether he was involved in his wife's disappearance. He responds oh yeah while touching his face and nose which tells me he is lying about some part of this. I can't find this part of the interview anywhere online in text or video. We don't know what police asked him in the polygraph.

TY Lynda- great job. um and uhs are at the weak points in the story.

Odd quotes: 'In her mind, she’s frightened, she’s scared'

' If a vehicle pulled up with 2 big dudes in it , would you approach that vehicle being a 100 lb. woman..if 2 women pull up, and lets say they ask you for help, that makes more sense to me.' (2 masked women?)

'I will share with you that their faces were always covered. I can tell you that there was, you know, guns involved.' (well that's convincing)

hhhm.. Think K & S did it for the money. I am calling HOAX. Even the carefully placed cell phone. Heck - you look at a cell phone wrong and the screen cracks. And the small lightweight ear buds landed on conveniently top of the phone? No way. Quick thinking to take a photo! I wonder if you can create fake bruises with skin dye? Scratches would be easy with no lasting harm. Hair grows. She might have even agreed to the brand idea for $50K... She is a bit vain for the cracked nose- maybe that part is a fib. More skin dye maybe.

Foolsfeedonfolly said...

Given the references to supremacy, is there any chance when Keith's thanking "his personal A-Team", it's a nod to/code for his Aryan buddies?

Foolsfeedonfolly said...

Keith: "Ultimately, it was Sherri's will to survive that brought her home. Thank you."

Maybe I'm misreading this, but it reads like Sherri had choices. So, what did Sherri do/agree to/agree not to do that ensured her survival? Keith plainly states it was Sherri's will to survive. Sherri herself was the deciding factor, not her "two Latino women captors"/abductors" decision. Sherri's injuries were not severe enough to warrant her dying, in the early morning, on the side of road alone. Keith tries to make this sound like some recent more horrific "kidnapping"/"abduction" news stories (to generate publicity and contributions?)but her injuries could not have been that severe as she was released from the hospital same day and left the area. IMO

In transcribing the above and taking all the on air interviews he has done..he has said,

I know she's screaming for me

my WIFE, s..screaming, in the background, yelling my name

She screamed so much, she said she was coughing up,you know, like blood from the screaming

And I hear screams and then I get the phone and “oh my God honey” course she’s screaming,

I thought about her being there, screaming my name

________________________________________________

Is it just me or is there a whole lot of screaming going on here?? These phrases were used by Keith in different media interviews. In 3 of the instances, Sherri is screaming Keith's name or for him.

DOes this mean anything? I suppose if there was domestic abuse, Sherri WOULD be screaming a lot, and she would more than likely be screaming Keith's name if he was abusive. Idk..it just seems a strange phrase to use over and over

Interesting comment!

Gutman is one of the few people who have seen photos of Sherri in the wake of her release.

“I wouldn’t say she is disfigured but she was battered almost to the point of unrecognizable,” he said.

Peter has reminded us that this SA analysis is not about both of the Papini s just Keith alone as it doesn't have couples dialogue. I'd forgotten about that so am glad Peter clarified it for those of us who've wanted to dissect every little detail instead of just the analysis of the husband's statement.Backseat sleuthing is normal for those who want to put the puzzle all together I guess. I know it is that way for me. Is this why there is a trashcan symbol near my post? Ready to be discarded? 😒

The AMA (against medical advice) leaving the hospital quickly is a good thought. If either of them wished to fool police and the medical establishment, they would have skipped out pretty quickly so no more testing or questions by doctors or nurses could be done. Would be interesting to know for sure.
Everytime someone mentions the branding, my mind goes back to OITNB (orange is the new black) this past season where the inmates branded Piper for punishment. It just seems kind of coincidental that *someone* came up with this idea to punish SP (who actually seems a lot like the character on OITNB). Just sayin'...

To the person asking about the "I miss you" text: How could anyone here possibly tell you "why" the person allegedly sent that text? We don't know you, we don't know the sender and we don't know the nature of your relationship or your history together. It sounds like you just need attention and, as usual, insist on making the discussion about your supposed relationship issues instead of this case (or any other case for that matter). You frequently do this. I just want to know WHY? What is YOUR motivation?

Anonymous said...

Actually, the OITNB season this past year dealt with white supremacy vs. latinos. The latinos branded Piper with a swastika. Life imitating art?

@1228, I did not ask WHY the person sent the "I miss you" text. He sent the "I miss you" text because he missed me, probably quite a bit. I asked why he sent the "I miss you" text and then immediately blocked me on his phone before I could even respond. I think anyone in their right mind would question WHY someone would do that, as it is a disgusting thing to do to another person. You are absolutely right, I shouldn't have taken up space here on this blog asking about the actions of an individual who has a history of incredibly undignified, stunningly immature and selfish behavior. The answer is self-evident: the individual is a selfish coward. And nice try trying to hook me back into a dialogue with you...here's your little crumb of communication that you don't deserve and now buh-bye.

It's not just you. I noticed all the screaming of K's name too; both when she is missing AND when she is found. Thanks for transcribing. X

I found Gutman to be a totally unreliable and poor reporter. He saw pics of Sherri? Good Lord..he didn't even see her in person and he's making statements like that? He didn't ask at all about all the money they kept and about 1/2 dozen other things that are hinky about this. He tweets stupid things. I don't give him any credibility at all.

I will stick with what the Sheriff stated which was she was treated and released after a few hours for non life threatening injuries. To date..we only have what Keith has said as far as her injuries. (Tho LE did affirm the "branding" but nothing else)

Anonymous said...

I'm beginning to wonder if Sherri might have been beaten by Keith and had to go into hiding to heal before anyone could see her condition. IMO it seems possible.

Anonymous said...

Describing the moments leading up to him finding his wife's phone on the side of the road, KP said: "I wasn’t looking for a phone. I was looking for Sherri."

It's interesting that KP felt the need to phrase it like that.

About the branding:

Interviewer: "I just need to know cuz I was worried when you said her face, her face, they didn’t brand her face, right?"

KP: "I will say that no.. it's not on her face, no."

...and later in interview:

Interviewer: "Did she ever see them?"

KP: "I will share with you that their faces were always covered. I can tell you that there was, you know, guns involved."

lynda said...

Interviewer: "Did she ever see them?"

KP: "I will share with you that their faces were always covered. I can tell you that there was, you know, guns involved."

___________
So Sherri DID see their faces? He was just asked if she ever saw them and this is his answer??

When Keith said that 2 women make more sense to him because Sherri wouldn't have been afraid to approach their car, the kidnappers faces weren't covered then, were they?? I mean, Sherri wouldn't have approached a car with 2 MASKED women in it so she MUST have seen their faces at one point
Why cover this up? Why lie about that?

I'm still curious about all the "screaming" if anyone knows if that suggests anything. That is really bugging me.

Anonymous said...

Lynda, you hit on a good one because you make absolutely good sense in observing that Sherri must have seen the faces of the two supposed Hispanic women as she wouldn't possibly get in the car with two masked women. I can just visualize a scene such as that as being from a horror movie and not real life. Kudos for seeing this, bringing to our attention. The screaming part is actually telling us something but what exactly is anybody's guess I think. One thing for sure his deception will tell on him big-time. One thing I wonder about is his A team. If Sherri was as battered as the ABC interviewer claims, been wonderfing if his Steam buddies were in on the beatings, cover up? Yeah, I know it's a long shot but it could be a kinky sex ring with her husband and the A team.......

Anonymous said...

Yeh it's too bad the reporter didn't say "Oh so she DID see their faces" when KP said that the reason she walked up to the vehicle was because it was 2 women (and not 2 men). Ha ha, I wonder what KP would have said in reply.

Anonymous said...

@8:20, No, actually I dont "need" to do anything except never communicate with you again. All you need to do is understand when your word as a "man" doesnt mean jack squat from one second to the next and you do disgusting selfish manipulations of other people you deserve to be called out on it. That one isolated action alone that I brought up is repulsive in its lack of integrity and demented selfishness. You have ALWAYS acted like life is some demented game you are seeking to "win". Well, congratulations! You won!!! What did you win? A giant pile of crap? Congrats! Buh-bye. Your word as a man should mean something, and it doesnt mean shit. Never has and never will. F-ckin disgraceful. Who would ever be like that? You would. As I said before buh-bye. Good luck and good riddance.

Statement Analysis question (for anyone here to reply):

What might it mean (if anything) when a question is asked, and then the person begins their answer with any of the following:

"I will say that..." or

"I will share with you that..." or

"I can tell you that..."

Here's what I'm thinking about - these parts of the 20/20 interview:

Interviewer: "I just need to know because I was worried when you said her face, her face, they didn’t brand her face, right?"

KP: "I will say that no.. it's not on her face, no."

...and later in interview:

Interviewer: "Did she ever see them?"

KP: "I will share with you that their faces were always covered. I can tell you that there was, you know, guns involved."

Is it "distancing" from truth? In a statement one doesn't feel comfortable saying forthright? Like, a side-way route to telling a possible untruth? Like: "Don, did you eat the last of the plums that were in the fridge??" Answer: "I can say that I have been uploading videos all night."

I'm not saying KP was lying in his replies in the examples given. Rather, I'm asking (I'm more interested in Statement Analysis than I am interested in this case) if those types of beginnings in answers are an indicator in general of deception. Seems to me it stinks of deception.

Q: Did you steal the potluck money while we were in the staff meeting?

A: I can tell you that I was in the front office taking calls and greeting visitors.

Anon 12/9 @ 5:48: if you and the other person both have iPhones, your sent messages to them are blue. Occasionally it will send as a text message instead of an iMessage and if it does that, the sent message will be green.

If this is what happened, it's possible the original sender never got the reply to the "I miss you" message (because their phone was in a bad coverage area) and that's why they tried Facebook contact a couple days later.

Bubbles, That seems unlikely the individual was in a bad coverage area and didnt receive the response to their "I miss you" text. I had never had any issues before their "I miss you text" with them receiving texts. Also, I just looked and it shows on my phone that I sent them a text the following day saying essentially "did you receive that text?" It went through in green w no response. 4 days later I texted "Are you OK blah blah?" it went through in green w no response. Then the individual facebook requested. I believe this person was playing a game. Were there some actual problem like being in a bad reception area for days, that individual would have been aware of that and should have followed up in some way with communication. . It would certainly not be my responsibility to do some kind of technological troubleshooting for this individual's phone. Period. This individual plays ridiculous games...that seems to fit right into that pattern. Enough said. See ya.

Hi Lynda, Thank you for doing the transcript for us. I know it took a lot of time and checking to make sure you had it exact.

What caught me eye was one phrase.

my wife she's so unbelievable

This sounds like an embedded confession.

More so when she is released after a few hours from hospital when she is allegedly a victim of abduction and was allegedly tortured and abused and branded.
Given the time she was 'missing' The hospital would have kept her in to check for all sorts of things, bloods, injuries and anything needing treatment such as stitches for wounds, bandages for her broken nose, ointments for her brand as well as numerous photographs of all her injuries for the ongoing criminal case to become evidence in any trial.
Swabs and even a rape kit would have been used as well as close examination for any DNA evidence or hairs etc which could help identify the alleged abductors.

I wonder if she signed herself out against doctors orders since she learned that photographs and or tests would be performed and she didn't want them done.
If she was faking this then, if all the bruises etc were fake the staff would have realized immediately if they washed off and it's game over.
The broken nose if genuine again could perhaps have been noticed to be a nose job as opposed to someone punching her in the face.

I would also wonder, if the injuries were genuine, if she was a victim of domestic abuse and she vanished and blamed Latinas for her injuries rather than her husband and they also saw a way of making money, (i would be looking at the family finances for any problems there)

He is controlling and his language makes me wonder if he is involved in some way.
That he tells us his wife is unbelievable makes me think this is a scam rather than genuine and then i wonder, who benefits from the money?

You're analysis amazes me. Some of the things you addressed seemed odd to me but I didn't know why. I want to ask though why when he says people want proof etc that this was not a hoax, why isn't that considered a denial ? Another thought I had is he says he used find my iPhone to locate her phone ... does it work that way where he could use that particular feature for his phone to find hers ? I know iPhone has "share my location" but that is not the feature he stated he used.

Carolina said...

Tania, Great observation, "my wife is unbelievable."

Baba, there is a feature called findmyiphone you can activate from another phone or by going online. Lots of time people use it when they misplace their phones but it can also be used when a phone is stolen or when it's owner is "kidnapped."

IMO the "I can tell you" is Keith trying to appear cagey and superior. Like only he is privvy to this knowledge and he deems you worthy of knowing a bit of what he does. He's a smarmy guy.

Straightforward answer (reflecting language of the interviewer) would have been "They did not brand her face".

Notice that he does not use the word 'they' anywhere in that sentence- and the sentence is very awkward. To quote Peter- He doesn't say it, so we can't say it for him.

Guess I've arrived at the party late as I've just now seen the video by Gamble. Weird film although I know what Gambles' work pertains to, so in that light I get it. However, the fact that the gal in the video even though younger/different circumstances was almost the exact intent of what happened to Sherri P. The article goes on to say that maybe Mr. Gamble was trying to drum up business for his "work" by making the video. Still weird, the parallels.
You can't make up stuff like this unless you are a Hollywood writer. I do believe that Sherri was beaten, etc. but why and with whom? Husband still baffling to me.

But who wants to traffic an almost middle age woman (who looks more like this than her photoshopped photos) when typically younger women (teens to early 20s) are targeted because they are more easily broken down. On top of that, why would they attempt to disfigure her if they want to trade her for sex?"

Lane, it looks as if Keith P might be a survivalist According to the stuff he likes on Pinterest, guns knives, camping equipment. If so, makes me wonder IF he is involved in the kidnapping somehow areas he, they the A team? We're they trying their survivalist tactics on Sherri? That could make sense except for the why of it.
