Statement Analysis in Everyday Life

I received the following from an investigator, analyst, and certified Statement Analysis instructor who is a part of our team.  He shows not only its usage, but a bit of fun he and his wife had.

He is in training for advanced certification and a trusted colleague who's childlike enthusiasm and selfless sharing is a blessing to all who attend the team analysis sessions. In anonymous author identification, he is invaluable.

This  highlights a simple and effective application of Statement  Analysis in everyday life.

If you wish to enroll in training, please visit Hyatt Analysis Services

The Complete Statement Analysis Course is done at your home or office, and comes with 12 months of ongoing email support of your work.  In addition, you will receive a free invitation to a 6 hour live team analysis training session.  This allows you to put your knowledge to work while being guided by professional analysts and instructors.

The course should not be rushed, and much repetition involved.

The New Mattress

Thank goodness for Statement Analysis training and the ability to
overcome the dulled listening that allows deceptive people to
succeed.

My wife, Barbara and I went shopping for a new mattress last week.  We first went to a well-known national mattress chain who advertised Memorial Day sales.  The salesman showed us the various name brand mattresses they carried.  Then, without being asked, the salesman said some of the mattresses were closeouts or blemishes.  This of course prompted the question from me:

Are these refurbished mattresses?

The salesman responded appropriately…at first, by telling me “no.”  However, he then mitigated the “no” by telling me what they “can’t do,” which only showed sensitivity and raised my suspicion level:

“We can’t sell them as new if the packaging has been opened for any reason.”

He continued to dig the whole deeper by stating: “We aren’t like the 2nd hand company down the street that sells refurbished mattresses.”

I know he didn’t realize what he was doing, but he just compared himself with the company down the street that sells refurbished mattresses.  By now I had no intention of buying his mattress, but as a Statement Analyst, I couldn’t wait to hear what came out of his mouth next.

Q: What tool was I going to use to elicit more sensitive information from him?
A: The exact same question that caused him psychological duress the first time around:

So, are these refurbished mattresses?

His response was priceless:

No, they shouldn’t beI mean we just can’t sell them as new if the package has been opened.”

He should have shut his mouth at the “no.”  At the very least, he suspected they were refurbished.  At the worst, he knew they were refurbished and was desperately trying to convince me otherwise.  His problem was that his brain couldn’t contain the information he knew to be true, while formulating a deceptive and mis-leading statement.

I wanted to toy with him more, but my wife new what I was doing and gave me “the eye,” which told me it was time to leave the poor salesman alone.

Needless to say, we didn’t buy from his store.  We did however, come away with a good laugh and a great lesson to pass on about the usefulness of Statement Analysis in everyday life.

I saw on your website an analysis course that is geared specifically toward law enforcement. I work in the medical field and am continuing my education specifically for pediatric physical/sexual abuse nursing. What course would you recommend for medical professionals? Do you think you will have a course geared towards healthcare in the future? I am seeking guidance on how to effectively communicate with patients and anyone accompanying them during their initial presentation to the hospital for abuse complaints, especially if I suspect the abuser is accompanying the patient.

Thanks!

On the despicable Kathy Griffin's photo shoot:

Trump also said that his children were “having a hard time” with the photo, especially his 11-year-old son, Barron. (According to TMZ, the boy thought the head really was his dad’s. The story claims that he was “in front of the TV watching a show when the news came on and he saw the bloody image. We’re told that he panicked and screamed, ‘Mommy, Mommy!’”)

We're told that he panicked and screamed. Unnecessary added words. Out of expected oder. Scream then panic.

I can't imagine Barron watching the news; however, T makes a good point that children see the news even if they don't intentionally want to. Parents need to be more mindful of what they watch around their children. And also to keep the volume down as children are not always sleeping. I remember hearing terrifying demon sounds when I was in my room because my mother loved to watch horror movies.

I'm aware that TMZ is a bad source so I don't believe the statement is accurate.

Age verification tests carried out on migrants who claim to be children have found that 76% of them are actually aged 18 or over.

Swedish migration authorities released the findings of a wave of tests carried out on new arrivals to the Scandinavian country who claimed to be underage, but raised the suspicions of authorities.

Medical examinations, which included analysis of migrants’ teeth and knee joints, found that the majority of those claiming to be children actually were not.

Sweden’s Rättsmedicinalverket (forensic medical agency) has so far tested 581 migrants, and found evidence that 442 of them were 18 or older.

The tests were only carried out on “children” who migration authorities thought could be lying – those who were clearly younger than 18 were not put through the procedure.

There are around 3,700 suspicious cases still due to be assessed by the medical experts, according to the Swedish TT news agency.

If the proportions from the previous tests hold true, a total of around 2,800 alleged child migrants will have been found not to actually be children, around 7.5% of all applicants.

Correctly assessing the ages of people claiming asylum in Europe as part of the ongoing migrant crisis has proved a contentious issue across the continent.

Photographs of refugees brought to the United Kingdom appearing to show grown men rather than teens or children prompted widespread criticism of the assessment process.

Some politicians argued for dental checks to be introduced in the UK – but were shouted down by officials who said they were “inappropriate and unethical”.

^ As though they would not soon be receiving dental checks, anyway - I'd think a dental check was the least of my worries if I had just escaped a war zone - I'd probably be glad of one. I don't see the logic - they will need and be entitled to free dental care, so most or many would be likely to having a dental check and x-rays anyway within a few weeks or months, anyway.. How would it be less intrusive to not estimate age while about it? I think the reluctance to permit dental checks for age is due to expectation or knowledge that many are adults, and would be shown to be so.

Favorite HRC quote of the day:
“I take responsibility for every decision I made, but that’s not why I lost.”

Now I'm just starting to feel sorry for her. Her interviews are getting more bizarre by the day.
