Statement Analysis 101: Change of Language

A change of language indicates a change of the subject's perception of reality.

When a word changes, something has changed.

If said change is a commonly used phrase, take particular note if the law of economy is reversed. This means that it now takes longer to process the information and speak it. A reversal of the law of economy indicates:

there is more information to what is being said.

Recently, I heard such a change.

For many years, Heather has introduced me by saying,

"This is my husband, Peter. He is from New York."

This became common and habitual in her language.

This past week at a charity held by a local Rotary, she said,

"This is my husband, Peter.  He is originally from New York."

Later, I asked her about it. It took but a few questions to learn what caused this change in her language.

What do you make of the change?

Post your findings in the comments section.

She now considers you are from somewhere else also - perhaps you've lived in current city as long as you lived in birthplace?

Hi Peter,
I didn't know you were from New York!
Is Heather from where you both live now? I agree with Barbara, She considers you to be from where you live now.
Have you and Heather had an anniversary recently?

She has an additional definition for the word "From" (in addition to "was born in"). I agree with those who already posted - sounds like maybe you've lived elsewhere for longer than you lived in NY?

Merry Christmas Peter. I guess that your wife Heather thinks that right now you belong more to the beautiful Maine, in reality you are a voice of the truth of your entire country. Thanks for your wonderful work. Ursula

Maybe because if you are 'from New York' and are in Maine outside of tourist season, it sounds like you are dealing drugs? And your wife is not a BMW? lol

I agree with what's already been said. It speaks to the element of time. Could it also be influenced by who Heather was speaking to at the time? Perhaps Heather now see's you as a, "native" Peter as opposed to a, "native New Yorker?" It seems to suggest you are from different locations and you possibly moved closer to Heather's location? It seems there has been a significant passing of time or an element of time which could have caused the change in language? You were from New York but this is where you live or call home. You're now part of the furniture? It would be fascinating to know what caused the change in Heathers language, what caused it? It's a positive.

Firstly, Peter; thank you for unselfishly sharing your informative blogs and videos-I've learned much from you and all of this like-minded and kindly group of people interested in finding the truth.
Were your wife's previous introductions to similar civic groups? I'd guess that she perceives you as having more fully become a part of your community; perhaps she also feels that the local folks may be more friendly than some of the negative perceptions of folks from NYC?

Les, interesting.

For all, with the "why" of language; absent of significant context, speculation is welcome. Try to find a line, stay with it, and grow it into a story.

It is not "deception v truth" but a rather fascinating (and risky) exercise for psycho-linguistic profiling.

Have some fun with it.

I agree with the other posters in that some personal threshold has been crossed for your wife to consider that you are now originally from New York . It could be down to the passage of time. Or some other factor such as something you have recently asserted Peter which has caused Heather to reappraise her value system . Have you recently said that you are unlikely to return to New York?

Bobcat said...

You're considered a local now, but you still need a disclaimer?

You can take the man out of New York, but...

Or that you no longer consider yourself a New Yorker? I'm not au fait with American culture. For example are Americans from different states as tribalistic as we are in the UK and in Europe?

Anonymous said...

"Originally" could be a dependent word, comparing two things, 1. New York where you were "originally" from - akin to being "over there" 2. Now you are in Maine? Could it speak to Heathers view of New York? a subtle form of distancing. "He's one of us now." My apologies if I'm wrong Heather. Could it be the person she was introducing you might have had a different view of New York? The inclusion of the additional word suggests it's necessary for Heather to say it which could make it sensitive but for a number of reasons. Possibly down playing it or possibly making a connection and establishing common ground. was the person you were being introduced to also from New York and the word "originally" was added for positive effect? It may have given you and the person you were introduced too something to share, possibly a love of sports, Mets or Rangers? I think it was meant in a positive context.

Anonymous said...

I'm thinking too much and doubting myself now :o)

I'm leaning towards a positive connection. Could the person you were being introduced to be of a similar age and background? Was there some serious schmoozing going on :o) ? It could be a form of ingratiation. A win, win win on all accounts. Would the sender of the message (Heather) benefit most from saying this? Everyone could be a winner.

My guess is:
Many years ago, when you moved out of New York, you and Heather bought a house in Maine. While you lived in your first house in Maine, Heather considered you to be “from” New York. After all, New York was the city you had lived in immediately prior to buying (and living in) your first house in Maine. Recently, however, you guys moved to a new house (possibly in a new town) so that Heather no longer considers you to be simply “from” New York but merely "originally from" New York. She now considers you to be “from” the first house/town you lived in after you left New York.

Other possibilities (less likely i.m.o.):
- You recently sold a home/apartment in New York (that you kept when you left New York). Now, in Heather’s perception, your ties with New York are less strong. To her you are no longer simply “from” New York, but merely “originally from” New York.
- Your parent(s) recently moved out of New York. Same reasoning: your ties with New York have become weaker.
- Something happened that caused Heather to not like New York anymore. In her mind, “being from New York” is no longer an asset and she is hesitant to attribute that qualification to her husband.
- Far-fetched: the local Rotary people for some reason have an aversion to New York. Heather knows this. Instead of introducing you as being “from” New York, she builds in some distancing language by saying you are “originally” from New York.

Hi Peter
It's unnecessary language and it's a need to persuade.
Sounds like persons have questioned her on the use of 'from '
For instance
Peter's from New York "I don't believe it, he doesn't sound like it"
So your wife has got fed up of explaining it every time you go out, she has now added 'originally' and it no longer requires any explanations.
Cheers Adam

I suspect she found out you lived somewhere else for a long time. Maybe born in Long Island but lived in New Jersey (just an example). So now it’s sensitive to her.

I think Heather now sees you as a full Maine resident but there is often an emotional link in language change so I think you have made Maine your family home where previously it was not thought of as permanent.

Has your driving finally slowed down to a more relaxed country pace to the extent that Heather has noticed. Does she no longer feel the need to call you to tell you to slow down? Was her old introduction a warning to people who may end up getting a lift in your car. "He's from New York" could have been not only a reference to where you came from but also an explanation of how you drove? Now that you have slowed and calmed behind the wheel "you are originally from New York"?

Heather is addressing the local community of "her" people and she's (maybe recently?) assimilated with them and no longer sees you or herself as being an outsider to this group/geographical area. You're now from Maine in her head and only originally from some place else which is now your past.

I would like to address Heathers original "habitual" introduction.

"For many years, Heather has introduced me by saying,

"This is my husband, Peter."

Complete Social introduction.

"My" - Taking ownership - close

"husband" - Status

"Peter." - Name

"He is from New York."

This is unnecessary information. I would like to ask why Heather would add this to her introduction of you?

Also.

"This past week at a charity held by a local Rotary,

I feel this is important for you to add "Rotary", setting. My question is why?

You could have said. "This past week at a charity event"...

Expanding as well...

A mother vanished on Thanksgiving Day, but her cellphone kept sending mysterious clues
Police have said they are treating Kelsey Berreth's disappearance "as a missing persons case at this time."

Kelsey Berreth had popped into a supermarket on Thanksgiving with her 1-year-old daughter in tow.

It’s not clear what exactly she was shopping for, but the 29-year-old mother was captured on surveillance video that afternoon at a Safeway grocery store near her home in Woodland Park, Colorado.

Then, she vanished.

Berreth never returned, but the circumstances that followed her disappearance have left her family members and friends grappling with questions and investigators searching for answers: Three days after she went missing, text messages were still being sent from her phone – one to her fiance, Patrick Frazee, and one to her employer, explaining that she would not be showing up for work, police said.

“She’s not the kind that runs off. This is completely out of character,” her mother, Cheryl Berreth, said at a news conference Monday. “Kelsey loves her dog, she loves her family and friends, and she loves her job.”

Then, through tears, she asked her daughter to try to call home.

“Kelsey, we just want you home,” she said. “We won’t quit looking.”

Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young told reporters that Berreth’s mother reported her missing Dec. 2 – 10 days after she had disappeared from her home.

De Young said Berreth’s fiance, Patrick Frazee, told her mother as well as authorities that he last saw Berreth in the afternoon on Thanksgiving Day when he picked up their 1-year-old daughter, Kaylee. However, police said that the last time they had visual confirmation was hours earlier on the grocery store surveillance video.

When the text messages were sent from Berreth’s cellphone Nov. 25, it pinged near Gooding, Idaho, about 800 miles from home. Her mother lives in that state, police said.

The police chief said that investigators have not identified a suspect in the case and that they “are treating Kelsey’s disappearance as a missing persons case at this time.”

Since Berreth went missing, family members have been posting pictures and messages about the 29-year-old woman on Facebook, offering information and pleading with the public for help.

Family members said Berreth, who was last seen wearing a white shirt, gray sweater and blue jeans, is a pilot and instructor in Pueblo, Colorado. She “loves hiking, running and bicycling” and has relatives in Washington state and Colorado, one post said.

“Kelsey, a LOT of heart is being poured into U, don’t give up!” family members later wrote on the page. “U R needed and loved. If you can, let us know, somehow, U R OK.”

Fiance Of Missing Colorado Mom Is Cooperating With Police, Lawyer Says
Patrick Frazee is helping in the missing persons investigation and praying for Kelsey Berreth's return, his lawyer says.

The fiance of a Colorado mother missing since Thanksgiving is praying for her safe return and is cooperating with the police investigation into her disappearance, his lawyer said Wednesday.

Patrick Frazee has been voluntarily helping investigators in the Thanksgiving Day disappearance of flight instructor Kelsey Berreth, 29, Colorado Springs lawyer Jeremy Loew said in a statement emailed to HuffPost.

“Mr. Frazee’s cooperation includes interviews with law enforcement, voluntarily releasing his phone to be searched by law enforcement,” swabs for DNA comparisons and photographs, Loew said, adding that Frazee “hopes and prays for Ms. Berreth’s return.”

Police on Tuesday released surveillance footage taken on Nov. 22 that shows Berreth shopping with her 1-year-old daughter at a Safeway in Woodland Park, some 20 miles northwest of Colorado Springs ― the last confirmed sighting.

Frazee told investigators he last saw Berreth after her shopping trip, when he picked up their daughter, police said. Frazee, according to investigators, also said he received a text message from her on Nov. 25. Authorities haven’t disclosed the content of that message.

According to police, Frazee did not report Berreth missing and ignored an invitation to a press conference police held Monday to raise awareness about the disappearance.

When a reporter at the press conference asked why Frazee wasn’t in attendance, Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young replied, “That’s a question you’d have to ask him.”

Loew told HuffPost his client was unable to attend.

“Much has been said over the news and social media about Mr. Frazee’s absence at the local news conference recently held by the Woodland Park Police Department,” the attorney said. “Mr. Frazee was first notified of the press conference approximately an hour prior to its commencement. Had he been given more advance notice, he would have participated.”

ABC News approached Frazee outside Loew’s office on Tuesday, but he declined to talk. When the network followed him to his Florissant residence, Frazee warned reporters they were trespassing.

“This is private property, this is a private road,” he said, according to video of the encounter.

Frazee will continue to cooperate with police, but will not participate in media interviews, his lawyer said.

“He does not want to impede law enforcement’s investigation,” Lowe said.

The missing woman’s mother, Cheryl Berreth, who lives in Idaho, first reported the disappearance on Dec. 2.

“We won’t quit looking,” she said in a brief statement at Monday’s press conference.

De Young said police are treating the case as a missing person investigation.

“We have not identified anyone as a suspect,” the police chief said.

Authorities have yet to verify information that purports to show Kelsey Berreth’s cellphone signal was picked up near Gooding, Idaho, roughly 600 miles away, on the afternoon of Nov. 25, De Young said.

“It could just be a false ping.” Woodland Park Police Comdr. Chris Adams told KEPR-TV.

elsey Berreth’s family has released few details about her life or her relationship with Frazee.

An individual who answered a message HuffPost sent Wednesday to the “Missing Mother – Kelsey Berreth” Facebook page, which police say is maintained by the family, offered no additional information.

“The family want everyone to know that they greatly appreciate all the support, concern and assertiveness in working to bring Kelsey home,” the response said.

Kelsey Berreth is described as a white female with brown hair, approximately 5 foot 3 and 110 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Woodland Park Police Department at 719-687-9262, or the Colorado Bureau of Investigation at 719-647-5999.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article mistakenly identified the town Kelsey Berreth’s cellphone signal was picked up near as Irving, Idaho. The correct town, according to police, is Gooding, Idaho.

In my country I heard once about a case of a missing person......over 20 years nobody knew where she was until she one day decided to call her sister when she turned in 50......all those years she had been living in the USA......she had left and had told nobody...they never said what her reasoning was because, the family said, they didn't want her to disappear again.......I think people who do this to their family are evil.....I wouldn't want them back into my life and I sure wouldn't care if they disappeared again....I would know they were alive and well and I would be fine with that. If a person is capable of doing this to you they are capable of doing anything....I wouldn't want to take any risk with that kind of people.....unless the reason they did it was out of safety reasons.....that would be the only reasonable explanation that I would accept....any other reason I wouldn't accept......but that's just me.

In this case the woman had a toddler......then again I've seen other stories of woman who left their children with their abusive husbands to disappear themselves and never contact their children ever again......this could be one of those stories......but then again would you keep your phone if you wanted to disappear? Wouldn't you buy a new one of which nobody is aware of?
That's why I think this case is suspicious especially because the (ex?) husband has been the last one to have seen her hours after the last time she was spotted shopping with her toddler.
I haven't read yet if the husband has 'voluntarily' offered a polygraph.....but I could have missed this

As it is the Christmas season, it might be interesting to apply SA to the Christmas Story in Matthew in the NIV Version.

Could deception be detected or veracity indicated whilst applying principle?

Matthew 1 New International Version (NIV) Part 1

Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[d]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[e] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f] because he will save his people from their sins.”

22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g] (which means “God with us”).

24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Matthew 2 New International Version (NIV) Part 2

The Magi Visit the Messiah

2 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:

6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
for out of you will come a ruler
who will shepherd my people Israel.’[b]”
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

The Escape to Egypt
13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”[c]

16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:

18 “A voice is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more.”[d]
The Return to Nazareth
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”

21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, 23 and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.

For anyone who might prefer Luke's version:

Luke 2 New International Version (NIV)

The Birth of Jesus
2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Police raid home of missing Colorado mother’s fiancé Patrick Frazee [VIDEO]

Snipped:

Kelsey Berreth, 29, has been missing since Thanksgiving.

Authorities in Colorado are executing a search warrant at a property belonging to Patrick Frazee, the fiancé of the young mother who went missing on Thanksgiving.

Frazee is believed to have been the last person to see Kelsey Berreth on November 22, when she met him to hand off their 1-year-old daughter, as the couple does not live together. Earlier that day, Berreth, 29, was seen on surveillance video at a Safeway supermarket near her Woodland Park home, shopping with her daughter.

that's why the bible these days can't be seen as "authentic writing'.....no matter the language. Only with use of the original scripts one would be able to see what really was said (written) 2000+ years ago....it would be interesting to compare that's for sure but I don't think many people would be able to read those scripts, it would be difficult to be sure the right (exact) words were used in all those translations after. The differences between those could probably show some profile of the writer (translator)

Did the writer's of that linguistic book have access to those early scripts?
Sounds like an interesting book....for one who thinks it's all BS.......written by people who had a need to controle people's minds. One thing is for certain......it worked....millions have been brainwashed by it and still are. It has costs millions of life's while it teaches 'love for everyone'. .......I probably will never understand, but still it's interesting. .....

the author of the book is known as the father of statement analysis. he explains where he gets the language as part of his analysis and used ancient Hebrew text. below is a link to a blog article Peter wrote.

Once she was socially comfortable with placing you mentally in NY and inviting others to do so. Now she distances you from NY by placing you on a timeline ('originally').

Does this new perception bring comfort to herself? Or does she perceive this will be more comfortable for others? Did her perception of NY recently change for the worse, so that now she wishes to distance you from it, either in her own mind or in the minds of others?

But if this is so, then why is she still mentioning NY at all?! Could it be that rather than NY going down in her estimation, your current area has gone up relative to NY for some reason? Whereas NY was perhaps something bright and shiny in her mind that she was happy to associate you with, now she has come to value her own area more and prefers to place you more emphatically there.

Good game! Happy Christmas & thanks for your blog.

On 2nd thoughts, was there a recent event that emphasised the passage of time, such as a significant anniversary, that inspired a reality check on how she thinks about you? 'From NY' can imply freshly arrived, whereas 'originally from' acknowledges there's some history between then and now, a journey through time.

I have transcribed the 3 min vid that was taken during the non-substantive handling of the case that was given to the public.

Jos: I am very aware that….it has to be very difficult for the family and uh the relatives and friends of Nicky Verstappen. And the passing and the absence of Nicky Verstappen must hurt a lot and it has to give a lot of grieve. Also the period of which already 20 years have passed. And that there still are open questions which does not answer. Who are entitled to it, to an answer. I find that something difficult. What I also find difficult is to listen to the facts that I am suspected of. It is also difficult for me ….to see in which kind of situation I ended up in. And at this moment I am sitting in detention. I..I want to repeat again, what I’ve already said, I am not the person who kidnapped Nicky Verstappen. I am not the person who has not do lascivious, with lewd actions, with Nicky Verstappen.

Judge: Sexual abuse is what you called it before.

Jos: Yes yes. And I am also not the man, the person who robbed Nicky Verstappen of life. I have not been guilty of those acts. I didn’t do it.

Judge: And the 4th, the accusation the Officer of Justice just read. Looking at of owning child porn?

Jos: Uh I can confirm that. That’s correct. There was child porn on it.

Judge: And you looked at it.

Jos: Uh it is on a hard disk, I saw it.

Judge: You saw it. Did you also save it on the hard drive?

Jos: Yes I did.

Judge: And what was your intention with that?

Jos: I have uh downloaded things and sometimes there were also pictures between them that were not actually intended to be downloaded and those I have set aside.

Judge: Yes but when you set them aside and save them then you do that for a reason. Which was it?

Jos: Well the reason to set them aside was to destroy them, to delete them. I am interested in photography and by watching photo’s you learn the view, de vision of others on how to make a photograph.

Judge: How you make photographs?

Jos: Yes

Judge: Yes, because yes maybe you collected also pictures of plants, mushrooms and trees?

Jos: Yes, also a lot.

Judge: You can learn of them too

Jos: Yes I do that too.

Judge: Yes but why especially of humans?

Jos: Separately from plants and landscapes and mushrooms humans are an interesting uh
Judge: Yes

Jos: to photograph.

Judge: But child pornography is yet something else.

Jos: That’s why they weren’t with uh the normal pictures.

Judge: What did happened in the hours prior to August 1998 that Nicky was found?

Jos: In consultation with my lawyer, we have agreed that I will not yet comment on this or give you uh ...... statements.

Judge: But you understand that this question is urgent and that many people, the Officer said it, are waiting for an answer.

Jos: Yes

Judge: You understand that

Jos: That I have also indicated that I understand that too.

Judge: And when does that moment come when you want to say something about it?

Jos: I can’t say anything about that yet

Judge: No

I wonder what others can say about this part. Thanks in advance.

Update:

Authorities began digging on the Colorado property owned by Kelsey Berreth's fiance Saturday as the search for the missing mom at his home entered a second day.

The Woodland Park Police Department also announced an anonymous donor is offering $25,000 for information leading to the safe return of the new mom who has been missing since Thanksgiving Day. She was last seen on surveillance video at a Safeway grocery store on Nov. 22 with her 1-year-old daughter. Her fiance, Patrick Frazee, told police he later saw Berreth to pick up their daughter.

Berreth, 29, was reported missing on Dec. 2 by her mother, Cheryl.

Woodland Park police served Frazee with a search warrant on Friday to begin investigating his 35-acre property in the rural town of Florissant, Colorado, about 35 miles northwest of Colorado Springs.

Frazee and Berreth do not live together.

(MORE: Police search fiance's home amid Colorado mom Kelsey Berreth's 'suspicious' disappearance)
While Frazee has not spoken to the media, he continues to cooperate with investigators. He has not been named a suspect or person of interest.

"Patrick Frazee continues to cooperate with law enforcement in the missing person investigation of Kelsey Berreth," Frazee's attorney, Jeremy Loew, said in a statement Friday. "We understand that a search warrant was executed on Mr. Frazee’s property. Mr. Frazee was never asked to voluntarily participate in this search. We encourage law enforcement to take whatever steps it deems necessary to find Kelsey Berreth and to be able to exclude Patrick Frazee as a possible suspect in this missing person investigation."

A neighbor of Frazee sent ABC News photos of authorities bringing in an excavator to begin digging on the property at about 3 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities completed their search of the property late Saturday, according to Colorado Springs ABC affiliate KRDO.

It is not clear whether they found anything at the home.

(MORE: Friend of missing Colorado woman speaks out)
The search warrant is sealed and authorities would not disclose what led them to investigate Frazee's home and land in the first place.

Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young said Friday that they still want to sit down with Frazee for an interview, but had yet to do so.

She now feels that the two of you are a united couple and have lived together long enough that your past in New York has receded into the status of a previous epoch in your life. You are now from wherever the two of you have lived together, you are originally (long ago in another time) from New York.

It is worrisome that Kelsey Berreth's fiancé has not sat down with LE for an interview yet. I can see why he would go for legal advice, knowing he would be the natural #1 person of interest after she disappeared. But if he had no involvement in her disappearance, he would be eager to give LE any information he has to assist in finding her. Between that and the fact he did not report her missing despite not speaking to her for 10 days, it isn't looking good. What engaged parents of a 1 year old would go 10 days not in communication?

She is preemptively excusing you for something (accent or some other stereotypically “New York” behavior). The addition of the word “originally” goes into more detail than just saying “He is from New York”. Something caused her to add that detail. I agree about the time component others have stated but I don’t think that is all. It feels like a preemptive explanation that has gone more in depth. By saying “He is orignally from New York” She is now saying that even though much time has passed Peter’s upbringing in New York is intrinsic to who he is. Did something recently happen where she felt the need to address Peter’s formative years being in New York as significant? Maybe in juxtaposition to her own?

Peter,

Since I've been a teenager, I haven't lived in the place I am originally from. Actually, the place I was born, I hadn't lived since the age of 2. So I was always "from somewhere else". Usually, whenever I was dating, I was introduced as being from somewhere else, not just "originally". Whenever enough time went by, it seemed to lack presence within the introduction. So, I was often told "I don't notice your accent anymore, we've been together so long". At that point, something else usually took the place of origin within the introduction. Something related to what I was doing for a living or some of the hobbies I would wind up being much more known for.

If being married for a long time, your spouse introduces you as being from somewhere (past) vs. what it is you are doing now that stands out (presence), it does indicate that the origin is of significance to her. Even when "originally" has been added and damped it somewhat.

Looking back, there was usually a specific reason when I was asked where I am from. Many never asked. To them it made no difference. They cared about now. What was I thinking, what am I doing, what are my thoughts. I liked that very much. Asking about the past can be quite disabling at times where you realize that someone tries to push and keep you in a box.

I remember our customer service representative in Atlanta often being asked about his origin and usually in a situation where a customer was unsatisfied with something. When there were disagreements, the question "Where are you from?" would indicate to me that the customer was expecting something that simply wasn't a part of the service we were providing and trying to put a negative tone on the person himself rather than what we were being paid to do. It wasn't just "Where are you from?" but would go further to "Are you from New York?" all the way to "You must be from New York". (Btw. he wasn't from New York, but somewhere else up north as his accent indicated as, according to some customers did "his attitude").
