Baby Ayla: The 911 Call Analyzed

What is expected in the dire emergency of a baby missing?

1. The caller will be in earnest to find his child. As such, he will be under pressure, frightened and concerned for the child.

2. The caller's priority will be the child.

3. The caller will give the 911 operator a distinct impression of not only urgency, but that the caller is working to facilitate the flow of information to help find the chid.

The Baby Ayla case has been covered extensively with the conclusion that the biological father, Justin DiPietro, has been found "deception indicated" regarding what happened to his daughter.

The information contained here is from media reports, including video.
DiPietro originally claimed the child was kidnapped.

When a child is kidnapped, the parent calls out to the child and to the kidnapper. This is an instinctive reaction, often with police providing the outlet. The parent(s) begins a desperate search.  The linguistic focus is what the child victim is now experiencing. This, too, is intuitive within a parent.

DiPietro refused to speak to media, or to search for the child. Concern was not expressed for the child, rather for his own comfort.

When asked, "Did you pass your polygraph?" he said "I smoked it."

This was not only an avoidance of a yes or no question, but one in which reveals he both considered it as a  contest of sorts, rather than a tool to help locate his daughter, and it revealed wording familiar and comfortable to him.

 This likely reflects drug abuse.
We also saw his mother, Phoebe DiPietro, report in a televised interview that she "heard nothing"and there was "no party" at her home the night Ayla was alleged to have been kidnapped.

It was later learned that she was not in her home that night to be capable of "hearing nothing", which reveals her own need to deceive the public.
We have also seen deception on the part of DiPietro's sister, Elisha,  in response to a question about her polygraph, as well as learning that the baby had a broken arm in which DiPietro did not seek medical intervention for 24 hours.  This, along with a report of injuries  is consistent with ongoing child abuse. As to bruises, DiPietro also revealed his own background when he claimed the toddler "got into a fight" with another child at a Chuck E Cheese ball pit.

Finally, police announced that the father, his girlfriend and his sister, all in the home when Baby Ayla was reported missing, were deceptively withholding information from police regarding what happened to the child.
Behavioral Analysis
When a child goes missing, the parents' behavior will indicate one of two positions:
1. The parents will do what it takes to regain the child
2 The parents will do what it takes to conceal what happened to the child.
The case does not present a mystery; as the father's behavior was to refuse to call out to the child or the "kidnappers" as he claimed he was not "emotionally capable" of doing so.  His emotional comfort trumped the negotiation with the alleged kidnappers.
He and his family did not give linguistic indications of empathy for what the "kidnapped" child was experiencing. This, along with linguistic indicators, showed knowledge that the child was deceased.
DiPietro had, prior to the disappearance, taken out an insurance policy not for his child, but against her life, and only her life, though he has another child which he did not take out a policy.

As deception progresses, the DiPietro family used deflection attempts to remove scrutiny from themselves and falsely accuse others.

This is the 911 he call made.

ECS1 911, where is your emergency?

C1 (Justin) xxx, Waterville, Maine.

ECS1 xxx?

C1 (Justin) Yes sir.

ECS1 Spell the name of the road just so I have it right.
C1 (Justin) xxx.

ECS1 xxx, what’s going on there?
This is the general question asking what happened. It is an open ended question which allows for the subject to begin his statement where he thinks it is most important to him. Where one begins a statement indicates priority and is sometimes even the reason for the statement.

C1 (Justin) Ah, I woke up this morning, my daughter is not here.
The subject begins with a pause. This indicates the question, "What happened?" or "Why do you need police?" is sensitive to him. It means he needs time to think of what to say.
The first thing he wants police to know is that he was sleeping.
Alibi Establishment
"I just work up."
This is to indicate the priority of alibi establishment.  He could not possibly be involved because he was not awake.  This is found in guilty statements including in many "fake hate" claims that move on to exploitation (Go Fund Me) where the subject has a need to first clear oneself, before reporting what happened.
The priority is:  alibi building.
It is to give the very first information after pausing to think of what to say---- he could not possibly be involved because he must have been sleeping because he "just woke up"---
Next, he said, "my daughter is not here."
This is a truthful statement. He did not say she was kidnapped, or that she died, but only the technical truth: "my daughter is not here" as to the location (address) he just gave.

ECS1 Okay, how old is she?

C1 (Justin) She is an infant she’s only twenty months years old.

ECS1 She is how old?

C1 (Justin) Twenty months old.

ECS1 Twenty months old?

C1 (Justin) She’s not even two – twenty months old.

ECS1: Emergency Communications Specialist
C1: Caller /
WCC: Waterville Communication Center
EP: Elisha Dipietro
WPO: Waterville police officer
WCC Waterville Communication Center, what’s the address of your emergency?
ECS1 DPS Augusta – putting through a report of a missing child from a residence at xxx .
WCC Okay.
ECS1 Sir, go ahead.
WCC Hello.
C1 (Justin) Hello.

WCC Hi, how long ago did you see your child?

C1 (Justin) When I put her to bed last night. My sister had checked on her. Um, woke up this morning, went to her room and she’s not there.

"My sister had checked on her" is to offer information not sought, nor useful in identifying the alleged kidnappers (though he has not yet alleged this), but to link him to his sister. This is vital information.

a. He is not the "last" person to see Ayla---his sister is.  Like the assumption of being asleep ("I just woke up"), he now further protects himself from guilt.

b. He reveals that putting the burden of being the last to see Ayla upon someone else.

This is something seasoned prosecutors take note of while offering immunity (to his sister or girlfriend) in exchange for the truth of what happened to the victim.

WCC Okay, how old is she?
C1 (Justin) Twenty months old.
WCC Twenty months?
C1 (Justin) Yes ma’am.

WCC All right. So you saw her last sometime in the evening?

C1 (Justin) Yeah, yeah, I put her to bed (Inaudible) at eight o’clock (8:00).

WCC All right, hold on just one second while I get somebody started right over there okay, don’t hang up the line.

(Transcriber’s note: brief pause)

WCC Sir.
C1 (Justin) Yes ma’am.
WCC Hi, I’ve got officers on the way over there. What is your name sir?
C1 (Justin) xxx.
WCC xxx?
C1 (Justin) Yes ma’am.
WCC And you said xxx or xxx , sir?
C1 (Justin) xxx.
WCC All right. What was she wearing the last time you saw her?
C1 (Justin) Um, she had some pajamas on, um, they were green pajamas.
WCC Green pajamas?
C1 (Justin) Yeah.

WCC Okay, can you remember the exact time that you saw her last or somebody saw her last in her crib?

Compound questions should be avoided. This allows the subject to choose to avoid answering what he did:

(Transcriber’s note: C1 refers to Alicia in background)

C1 (Justin) Um, Elisha, when was the last, when is last time you went in her room last night when you saw her?

Did you notice that several times the subject said "hello"---this is something not expected in a distress call of urgency.

Yet, it was not flagged for sensitivity because it was parroted back during the exchange.

Parroting back is natural in language.

"Did you steal the missing wallet?"
"I didn't steal the missing wallet..."

When parroting is disrupted in a change of language, the information is vital.

The question to him or "somebody" else is when they "saw" Ayla.

Now look at the answer:

Um, Elisha, when was the last, when is last time you went in her room last night when you saw her?

Not, "when was the last time you saw her" but the unnecessary repetition of the earlier statement (which requires more effort) --this is an example of "scripting" a response.

The subject needs to control the flow of information and reminds his sister of going into the room before she could say she "saw" Ayla.

Scripted language reveals the necessity of scripting.

EP Ten o’clock (10:00).

C1 (Justin) Ten o’clock (10:00), ten o’clock (10:00).

WCC Ten o’clock (10:00), okay.

(Transcriber’s note: radio communication)

WCC (Inaudible) units responding, she was last seen in her crib wearing green PJs approximately 2200 hours last night.

(Transcriber’s note: radio communication ends)

WCC What’s a good phone number for you sir?
C1 (Justin) – xxx.
WCC xxx, okay. I’ve got officers on the way over there right now sir and we’ll help you, okay?

(Transcriber’s note: disconnect / return call)

WCC Waterville Communication Center, what is the address of your emergency?

ECS1 DPS, putting through –

C1 (Justin) Yes ma’am. I was just on the phone with you and my cell phone died.

WCC Okay yeah, I tried calling you back it went right to voice

mail. What is your daughter’s name sir?

C1 (Justin) Ayla Reynolds.

WCC I’m sorry, Ava Reynolds?
C1 (Justin) A-y-l-a.
WCC E-y-l-a, okay.
(Transcriber’s note: radio communication in background)
WPO What number xxx?
WCC1 xxx . . 10-3.
(Transcriber’s note: WCC communicates with C1)

WCC Okay, and you’ve checked all through the house, is there any way she could have climbed out of her crib?

C1 (Justin) No, ma’am, she, there is no way she could a got, there’s no way she could.

The father remains polite in a call where impoliteness and urgency are the expected.

This is a form of "ingratiation" into law enforcement - a psychological making of "peace" between them.

WCC Okay.

(Transcriber’s note: radio communication)
WCC 10-4.
(Transcriber’s note: WCC communicates with C1)
WCC Okay, the officer is there with you right now. I want you to go out and speak with her, okay?
C1 (Justin) Okay.
WCC All right, bye-bye.
END

Analysis Conclusion:

The subject's priority is to establish his own alibi.

He yields as little information as possible while maintaining an appearance of cooperation. He answers the questions in brevity; that is, in caution (see pause).

He does not express concern for Ayla.

He does not ask for (or demand) that Ayla be found.

At this time, he does not assert that she was "kidnapped" ---the father of a missing toddler offered no assistance in helping police decide what happened.

He only offered information once--- and this was to further buttress his alibi establishment --- that someone else can "verify" that he put the victim to bed at 8 because she (sister) checked on the victim two hours later.

The lack of urgency and the void of concern for Ayla, along with the absence of asking for help finding her from a biological father is indicative of the child's death---she is beyond the parental capacity of protection.

The claim of kidnapping came later, with eventually the family expressing concern for themselves, while not orchestrating searches, nor addressing the "kidnappers", nor even the child, lest prompted by media.

Statement Analysis reveals deception with Behavioral Analysis consistent with guilty knowledge of Ayla's death.

Forgive my ignorance of how law enforcement works, but do cops have the opportunity to listen to the 911 calls before questioning those involved? It seems it would really benefit them in being able to home in on the sensitive topics indicated in the language during the call.

C1 (Justin) “When I put her to bed last night. My sister had checked on her. Um, woke up this morning, went to her room and she’s not there.”

He drops the pronoun “I” before “woke up this morning” which means he makes no commitment to the words which follow. Instead of the expected “I” he starts his sentence with “Um” which tells us he needs time to think of what he is going to say. I don’t expect him to need to think about a simple sentence as “woke up this morning”.

Notice at the beginning of the call he did say “Ah, I woke up this morning, my daughter is not here.” He did use the pronoun “I” to say two truthful things. The first that he woke up and the second that his daughter was not there. I question why he will not commit to his later use of “woke up this morning” and see that where he drops the pronoun there is extra information when he says “went to her room”.

If he drops the pronoun because he will not commit to waking up and going to her room then it shows he is deceptive. In order for him to know that she is “not there” he must go to her room to find that out, unless he is lying and he did not put her in bed as he wants us to believe. This leads me to think that there was no need to go her room because he had already disposed of her body the night before or in the early hours of the morning.

ECS1 Was there anybody else with you overnight?

C1 (Justin) My sister’s here, her daughter and my girlfriend and her son are here.

It is worth noting that Justin was asked a question which requires a yes or no answer to at least begin the answer. He is asked “was there anybody else” which speaks to time past. He fails to give an affirmative or negative answer and instead tells us what “is” (present) – “My sister’s here”.

Further investigation would be needed to confirm when his sister and others who are there arrived at the property. It could be that there was an accident/incident in connection to Ayla earlier which led him to seek the support of others. A story could have been cooked up to cover what happened. He did not answer the operators question.

I. The story/ The confession

Presuppose truth

"Ayla Bell Reynolds, 20 months old, disappeared about one week before Christmas 2011.

Ayla had been living with her Daddy, Grandmother, and Aunt and cousin in Waterville, Maine for just about 8 weeks before she disappeared in the middle of the night.

Those two months had been the happiest of her Dad's life. Justin still can't comprehend how his life went from being full of optimism and promise, to DARK AND HOPELESS LITERALLY OVERNIGHT.

Justin had found out that he was a father when Ayla was 7 months old. He never even knew AYLA WAS ON THE WAY, SO HE DIDN'T GET TO MEET HER WHEN SHE WAS BORN. ( accusing tone, and Angela and Phoebe were probably watching Ayla play as they wrote this) When he found out that he had a child, he was happy to be a Dad and he tried to learn things quickly. There didn't seem to be room for him in THIS LITTLE BABY'S LIFE with the family she already knew, but he was determined. Even though there had never been a committed relationship between he and the mother, he was very willing to learn to co-parent. There were, however, some dynamics there that made it difficult. This isn't the appropriate place to discuss it, but it is important to note that Ayla has two parents that love her, who don't happen to have a relationship with each other beyond co-parenting. It matters because sometimes it sets the stage for people to understand ( Phoebe must have seen Justin hurt Ayla and Lance broke Justness nose in retaliation) the dynamics better AND HELPS PEOPLE ( NOT) TO CREATE "IF-THEN" SCENARIOS that don't apply in this particular case. ( Then the whole next paragraph is how he was away and changed in the five years he was in Portland. and the people who influenced him)
Justin does have a long time girlfriend who also has a young child. Things had been going well for them and they truly were very happy. Justin's girlfriend from Portland, and her son were up for a visit which was normal on the weekends. They'd met during his 5 years in Portland where he lived with other single friends in an apartment. He'd recently had to leave Portland to have a better home environment for Ayla since he had just gotten custody of her and was working towards getting on his feet in Waterville- and out of the temporary room he had in the basement of his mom's house. His girlfriend's family and support network is in Portland where she also has a day job and continues her college education at night. She is currently working towards her masters degree there but spends as much time as can be spared with her baby boy as well as Justin and Ayla. Justin often feels like she doesn't give herself enough of a break, but also respects her drive. Things were going well in the big picture and the future was looking brighter.

The night of Friday, December 16th, 2011 was no different than most any other night for the two months he'd been back. ( police found his basement room filled with beer bottles) Everyone went to bed, Ayla was checked on at 10 pm, and sometime after 8 am on that Saturday morning, people in the house started waking up and realizing that their entire world had just turned into A NIGHTMARE.

It was at about 8:30 that Justins sister, whose room is closest to the baby room, awoke and started moving about the house in her Saturday morning routine. That particular night only Ayla was in her room as her younger cousin had slept in her mom's room. That wasn't at all unusual for the 18 month old and her mom. Moments later the aunt walked into the babies shared room only to find Ayla not there. After a rushed trip down the stairs and the discovery that Justin did not have Ayla either, there was instant panic. He bolted up the stairs, knocking over the gate that was placed there every morning for the two little girls, and into her room. Nothing. She wasn't there. She wasn't anywhere inside. Outside- nothing. ( This sounds real, perhaps attempting to scare Justin sober )

( She's focuses on saving Ayla and finding her son) I don't think any of us that are parents have to think too hard to remember a time when we thought- for a handful of seconds or minutes- that one of our little ones had toddled off alone. While on one hand you are panicking at what "could be" on the other hand you are keeping yourself in check because your logical mind keeps reassuring you that if you breathe, stay calm, and think...you will find THAT LITTLE MUNCHKIN-( Justin is the munchkin ) probably in the tupperware cabinet again.

Only, in Justin's case, he's had to wake up to the same NIGHTMARE day after day without end. In those frantic, surreal moments the possibility that she could be in that house SOMEWHERE kept competing with the thought that someone had taken her. As the morning unfolded into what felt like an eternity...he just kept thinking that by the days end they would have found Ayla. The police would have put every officer within a hundred mile radius on the case and they would figure out who could have taken her. But night arrived, and Ayla did not.

I have to stop here because I simply can't find any more words that will fit on this page. My understanding of what happened from that day on, through many conversations, have forever changed me. The things that have taken place since then defy reason, to be honest. I can't believe that we still haven't found THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL. It is more apparent than ever that if we don't round up the help of everyone we know and all of their friends too ( They are conspiring on how to involve others in their kidnapping of little Ayla), Ayla could be waiting to see her Daddy for a very, very long time. He wakes up to this again and again, in the face of a foaming at the mouth public that is hell bent on making him the villian in a tabloid event. I pray for him daily, as I pray for his daughter's safety, well-being, and quick return."

The God who stays

[Verse 1]
If I were You I would've given up on me by now
I would've labeled me a lost cause
'Cause I feel just like a lost cause
If I were You I would've turned around and walked away
I would've labeled me beyond repair
'Cause I feel like I'm beyond repair

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, but somehow You don't see me like I do
Somehow You're still here

[Chorus]
You're the God who stays
You're the God who stays
You're the one who runs in my direction
When the whole world walks away
You're the God who stands
With wide open arms
And You tell me nothing I have ever done can separate my heart
From the God who stays

[Verse 2]
I used to hide
Every time I thought I let You down
I always thought I had to earn my way
But I'm learning You don't work that way

[Pre-Chorus]
'Cause somehow You don't see me like I do
Somehow You're still here

[Chorus]
You're the God who stays (You're the God who stays)
You're the God who stays (You're the God who stays)
You're the one who runs in my direction
When the whole world walks away
You're the God who stands (You're the God who stands)
With wide open arms (With wide open arms)
And You tell me nothing I have ever done can separate my heart
From the God who stays

[Bridge]
My shame can't separate
My guilt can't separate
My past can't separate
I'm Yours forever
My sin can't separate
My scars can't separate
My failures can't separate
I'm Yours forever
No enemy can separate
No power of hell can take away
Your love for me will never change
I'm Yours forever

Human remains discovered in a wooded area in west Alabama have been confirmed as the five-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Jacksonville, Florida earlier this month.

Searchers discovered the remains 500 miles away six days after Taylor Rose Williams vanished on November 6.

Around the time of the discovery her Petty Navy Officer mother Brianna Williams, 27, attempted suicide as police prepared to charge her with child neglect and giving false information to law enforcement.

Thirteen days later, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have called off the Amber Alert and announced they were now investigating a homicide.

JSO Chief of Detectives T.K. Water said Monday that the child was identified via DNA test but said her cause of death had not been determined.

He said they were preparing to tell Williams about the ID and confirmed she was still not cooperating with authorities.

Water would not reveal how they were led to the remains by County Road 44 off Highway 28 in Marengo County but said they are committed to getting justice for the child.

Williams had reported Taylor missing but the mother stopped cooperating with detectives after being questioned about inconsistencies in her story.

Williams had been named as a person of interest in her daughter's disappearance.

The search was expanded to rural Alabama and within a 25-mile radius of the mother’s hometown Linden and Demopolis where she has friends.

The identification comes a few days after Williams was transferred to the Duval County jail following nine days at a local hospital being treated for an apparent overdose.

Williams was on life support but currently remains jailed on $1.1million bond.

Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams previously said Williams had not spoken with detectives since the day she reported her daughter missing.

Investigators said no one else is currently in custody in relation to Taylor's disappearance.

Williams had claimed she put Taylor to bed that night but woke up the following morning to find the little girl wasn't in her room and the back door of their home was wide open.

Since reporting her daughter missing, authorities said Williams had been staying at the Jacksonville naval air base where she works.

Investigators had issued an alert on Monday asking whether anyone had seen the child and her mother in a black Honda Accord between Jacksonville and Alabama within the past two weeks.

State, federal and local authorities from Alabama and Florida assisted in the search, which included officers walking through a drainage pond near the child's home in Jacksonville.

Authorities wouldn't previously elaborate on how long the remains appeared to have been in that location.

Sheriff Williams previously revealed it may have been months since Taylor had been seen by anyone other than her mother.

At least one person has come forward to say they she saw Taylor on June 5 at an on-base daycare facility that her own child also attends at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

'The kids were in the same class all year long, so I had seen her basically every day until the last day of day care,' the woman told Action News Jacksonville.

It is not clear if Taylor was enrolled in school for the fall.

Williams moved house within Jacksonville on November 3 and a woman who helped her re-locate said she didn't see Taylor during that time.

'We never saw a child. We never heard a child. Nothing,' Tiffani Nicole, who was hired to help on the move, told WJXT-TV.

'I was assuming the kid was in day care, or the child was with a friend, so she can get her apartment cleaned out.'

Nicole said Williams' house was messy and that she was behaving strangely.

'It honestly looked like she had been recently evicted or something because it was not well lived-in if there was a child there,' Nicole said.

'There was old food all over the floor, underneath the couches. There was trash everywhere.'

Nicole said she did help move a toddler's bed.

Neighbors at Williams' new home said they hadn't seen the young girl since the mother moved in.

Detectives were trying to speak to Taylor's biological father, Maurice Tate, who lives in Alabama.

Family members in Alabama said he hasn't seen his daughter in about two years since Williams moved from that state to Jacksonville.

OT: alleged homophobic incident in London bus

The video shows one of the boys making offensive gestures and one of the girls, Chris, suddenly storming towards him and starting to physically attack him. Her girlfriend Melania (who seems to be smiling when Chris starts the attack) storms after her in order to hold her back. The boy punches Chris back. It looks like Melania's nose bleed is inflicted at around the 0:30 mark. It's hard to see what/who causes the injury (could be Chris's elbow or one of the boys fleeing down the stairs).

Shocking CCTV shows the moment youths attack two lesbian lovers travelling home on a night bus after they refused to kiss and perform sex acts.

Dr Melania Geymonat, 28, and her girlfriend Christine Hannigan were on the upper deck of a double-decker night bus in Camden, north London, when they were confronted by the youths in the early hours of May 30.

Footage of the horror attack has now been released after three teenage boys today admitted threatening the two lovers while hurling coins at them on a night bus.

Two of the youths turned and laughed at each other as the CCTV footage of them was played in court.

In the clip, the teenagers can be seen sitting at the end of the top deck of the bus before approaching the two women and sitting around them.

Ms Geymonat, who has also been known as Ms Ramirez, was holding Ms Hannigan who was pretending to be sick, while talking to the boys and appearing to try to diffuse the situation.

After a few minutes, the footage shows the boys making gestures before the whole group moves around the bus. Ms Hannigan later ran toward the boys, one of whom took her handbag.

A scuffle is seen, with punches thrown by the youths towards the two woman, before the youths descend to the lower deck of the bus. Ms Geymonat was later seen with a bloodied nose.

District Judge Susan Williams, sitting at Highbury Corner Youth Court, said that the CCTV showed the youths treating the young women as some sort of ‘side show’.

‘I have seen the footage of two young women obviously out on an evening behaving in an overtly affectionate manner with each other and a group of young men thinking this some sort of big joke,’ said Judge Williams.

‘It is perfectly obvious the fact this is a same sex couple is what attracted the attention of these boys in the first place and what piqued their interest.’

She added: ‘I don’t know whether I would describe it as a hate crime but they quite clearly targeted the couple and behaved in an entirely inappropriate fashion.’

Soon after the attack Dr Geymonat, referred to in court as Melania Ramirez, shared a photograph of herself and her date covered in blood after the incident, which made headlines around the world.

Prosecutor Saira Khan told Highbury Corner Youth Court: 'There is targeted behaviour towards both complainants and that does relate to their sexual orientation.'

The teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 17, appeared in court on Thursday after previously denying charges of harassment by using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.

The court previously heard the Dor Geymonat, from Uruguay, who was working as an air stewardess for Ryanair at the time, were surrounded by the boys, hit with coins and subjected to sexual gestures after they refused to perform a sex act.

Before the trial on Thursday, which was expected to last two days, all the teenagers who cannot be named due to their ages, admitted the public order offences.

Prosecutor Saira Khan told the court the teenagers each played different roles during the nine-minute incident. Charges were dropped today against a 17-year-old.

The 16-year-old also admitted stealing a brown handbag belonging to Ms Geymonat and illegally handling a Google Pixel 2 XL phone worth £300.

The 15-year-old denied retaining stolen property, namely Ms Geymonat's bank card.

Two harassment charges against another 17-year-old were not pursued due to lack of evidence.

They are due to be sentenced later by District Judge Susan Williams.

David Wood, defending the 17-year-old, argued that his client's behaviour was 'adolescent' and not motivated by homophobia.

'It is not is an offence which demonstrates either before or after it any hostility on the basis of sexual orientation,' said Mr Wood.

'The coin throwing is obviously pathetic. It is a criminal offence for which he will be sentenced.

'It has nothing to do with an attack which is based on sexual orientation.'

Speaking to BBC London News just days after the attack, Ms Hannigan revealed in shocking detail what happened to them.

Ms Hannigan said: 'They got up out of their seats and walked over to where we were and started very aggressively harassing us.

'One of them stayed a couple of rows behind and was throwing coins at us.

'I did not engage with him at all. Initially Melania was trying to deescalate the situation. She was being friendly but trying to keep them at bay.'

Both were left with facial injuries which took place as the pair were travelling to Ms Hannigan's home in Camden.

She continued: 'Fighting broke out and I don’t know how we got from fighting on the top of the bus down to the lower deck but in that time frame they took my phone, her bag and they ran off the bus.'

The incident came as figures from the Metropolitan Police showed an 18 per cent rise in homophobic and transgender attacks on last year - from May 2017 to April 2018.

Miss Geymonat added: 'The violence is not only because we are women who are dating each other. It’s also because we are women.'

Defiantly standing up for herself following the attack - and asked what people should take from the incident, Ms Hannigan said: 'I'm not scared about being visibly queer.

'There are a lot of people’s rights at risk and people’s basic safety is at risk.

'I want people to feel emboldened to stand up to the same people who feel emboldened. I want people to stand up for themselves and each other.'

Miss Geymonat, also recalled the shock attack - moments after she refused to kiss for the gang.

She said: 'They wanted us to kiss so they could watch us. I tried to defuse the situation as I'm not a confrontational person, telling them to please leave us alone as Chris wasn't feeling well.'

The gang began throwing things on the bus - which was travelling towards Camden, where Chris lives - and the couple told them to stop.

Both women were taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

The pair said they had decided to sit at the front on the top deck because they both enjoy the novelty of a double decker bus.

Miss Geymonat, who moved to the UK in February and is on a year's sabbatical from her medical studies, said she had felt safe as a gay woman in London.

But after being stunned by the attack, she released the picture to raise awareness of violence against women and gay people.

Miss Geymonat added: 'It's not something isolated, it's common. We were seen as entertainment, that's what makes me so angry.'

Tania Cadogan said...

cont.

She added: 'It's a surprise to me. I know that there is a lot of verbal violence all the time, and that's the thing that made me tell the story. Even when these guys came, it was not the first situation when men see two women kissing and they start asking us if we were a show.

'I have gay friends who have been in the streets and they have been punched all over.

'Now, other people have told me a lot of violence is going on, that we were even lucky that we were on a bus, because if we were in the streets, nobody knows what could have happened.'

She said the police had been 'extremely good' in dealing with the incident.

Miss Geymonat shared about her experiences on Wednesday in a Facebook post which attracted thousands of comments and 9,700 shares.

Prime Minister at the time Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn both condemned the attack.

Mrs May said: 'This was a sickening attack and my thoughts are with the couple affected.

'Nobody should ever have to hide who they are or who they love and we must work together to eradicate unacceptable violence towards the LGBT community.'

Mr Corbyn labelled the attack 'absolutely shocking, saying: 'We must not, and will not, accept this homophobic and misogynist violence in our society.

'Solidarity to Melania and Chris, and to all in the LGBT+ community for everything they endure for simply being who they are.'

London Mayor Sadiq Khan tweeted: 'This was a disgusting, misogynistic attack. Hate crimes against the LGBT+ community will not be tolerated in London.'

Miss Geymonat graduated last year as a doctor at the Universidad de la República in Montevideo and had worked at the Hospital de Clínicas Montevideo before moving to the UK.

In an online profile, she said she had been 'motivated by telling stories' since she was a girl, and had also studied acting.

She originally comes from Palmitas, a small town of less than 3,000 people in Uruguay, but later moved to Montevideo. She has also lived in Barcelona, Santiago in Chile and on a boat in Greece. Miss Geymonat also spent time travelling Italy, where her family originally come from.

In the video it shows the women being harassed, but it is one of them who gets up, runs towards and then punches one of the men which initiates the fighting. This story was posted on the blog a while ago prior to there being any video available and the analysis showed problems with the women’s account.

The daily mail has done poor reporting and poor transcription on the event. In one video the narrator says “when the couple repeatedly asked the men to stop a violent attack came next”. The reporter pitches it to sound like the violent attack was instigated by the men. The listener will conclude that there are attackers and defenders and will naturally assume the attackers are the men. The woman who we now can see threw the first punch then says:

“Fighting broke out and I don’t know how we got from fighting on the top of the bus down to the lower deck but in that time frame they took my phone, her bag and they ran off the bus.”

Notice the woman who threw the first punch fails to mention she punched first, and uses the passive “Fighting broke out” which fails to detail how it broke out or who started it. Of course she didn’t lie as fighting did break out, but rather left out what would implicate her guilt in starting the fight.

I feel sorry for the women. What happened to them as far as the harassment was wrong, but it was one of them who started the violence by throwing the first punch which means she should be held accountable for her actions. This is all on video so I will be interested to see how that plays out in court.

Bad transcription in the article on the page:

One of them stayed a couple of rows behind and was throwing coins at us.

'I did not engage with him at all. Initially Melania was trying to deescalate the situation. She was being friendly but trying to keep them at bay.'

Listen to the video interview and see the full stop put after “with him at all” should actually be after “initially”. That one small error of a full stop changes the whole meaning of the sentence. When the proper meaning is revealed we see the woman did not “engage with him initially” which tells us at some point she did engage just not initially. The video reveals her engagement was of the physical kind.

Justin, the child abuser, doesn't show classical indicators of deception in this 911 call or in his interviews.

I think Phoebe did it.

Where was Phoebe that night? Why has Phoebe refused to say? That's not suspicious or anything.

Phoebe shows verbal leakage of having disposed of Ayla. Phoebe probably also killed Ayla.

Justin, passed out drunk and stoned, probably didn't hear a thing when Phoebe left the house with Ayla that night.

Justin is deceptively withholding information. His son self is his priority, not to protect his mother.

Peter, I agree that he is not trying to protect his mother, rather that he was passed out drunk and stoned and either does not know what happened to Ayla or is not sure what happened to her. Phoebe's leakage, however, is chilling.

OFF TOPIC

Deep Prasad, CEO of a company called ReactiveQ, says he had an encounter with "entities" (he does not actually say they were extraterrestrials). I am curious to know whether folks here think he is being sincere / truly believes what he is saying. If not is it possible to discern from the language what his motivations are? It is very long so I will break it up

It’s Thanksgiving, and this is going to be a rather complicated post. It’s also objectively not a good idea for me to write it given every Scientist has a target on their back in the UFO community (rightly so) and given that I am still a tech CEO.
Near the beginning of this year (February 1st), I had the most absurd, world-changing experience of my life. It happened in broad daylight at 9:40 in the morning in my home. More specific details will be for another time when I have a better safety net and can expand more. But to put it simply: I was paralyzed against my will, could not move, and saw 3 entities that had no-chill. Could I be crazy? Sure. Do I think I am? Obviously not. Could this have been a hallucination? I can’t prove it wasn’t or I wouldn’t be so worried about sharing this.
These entities projected hundreds/thousands of sentences and paragraphs in a language that looked like a marriage of Japanese and Egyptian hieroglyphics. I was terrified that I could barely move and was in complete disbelief at what was happening. I’d go back and forth between, convincing myself that I was having some sort of seizure or had fallen unconscious and that there was no way this was happening, to downright fear realizing that it all felt more real than reality.
I was scared that I couldn’t move and was not in control of the situation yet could think perfectly straight. My mind was racing. “These things are really real? Is this really happening right now? Are my family and friends ready for this if it ever happens to them? Are they going to kill me? How do I convey that I don’t want to die and that I’m not a threat?”
At the same time, I was trying to make sense of the symbols. It was incredibly frustrating that I couldn’t understand or translate them. The sentences and paragraphs would keep flipping rapidly and the only English word I saw, at least 3 times, was the word, “DNA”. This means that whoever or whatever was doing this (even if it’s my brain), clearly understood English. But was choosing not to use it for everything. The image of my room would disappear when I raised my head a little. But it was hard to do that and I would feel extremely nauseous.
When it disappeared I realized I was no longer in my room but somewhere else. When I would put my head back down, the image of my room would come back on again and the symbols were back on again. I decided to stop fighting what was happening and for some reason no longer felt fear but total fascination. The fear feeling would come back every now and then, but by this point, I was astutely observing everything that was going on. The color of their suits, their size, their mannerisms, the feeling that my mood was being rapidly cycled, etc.
After a certain point, one of them jumped on top of me. And slowly walked towards my head. Right before it did this, it was on the ground near my TV and displaying these beautiful golden holograms in the middle of its suit. These golden sparkles would jump around it too. When I saw this, I immediately rolled my eyes and said “This is a f***ing joke. What is wrong with me? What are these things??” Because I assure you, they did not look like what you expect of an “ET”. These things seemed etheric in nature. Hard to describe.

Off Topic Part 2

Once it was on me, it walked towards me so slowly and cautiously that I felt I was being treated like an animal. I felt this weird light hitting the top of my head. And suddenly I got hit with the most blissful, euphoric feeling I have ever felt. I will try my best to describe it: It felt like the Universe was sentient and aware of my existence. The feeling was of warmth and nostalgia(?), it was like a reminder that space is teeming with life and that we’re all related to each other by virtue of existing. I use the word “oneness”, which meant nothing to me before.
After a few minutes(?) of experiencing this, I got knocked out/lost consciousness. And woke up “instantly”. Not a minute had gone by since the experience started. I was heaving and looking around completely shocked at what just happened. I couldn’t believe no time had passed. I STILL didn’t think what had happened could be authentic, but I question it less today than I did when it first happened. This all happened around an interesting time in my life. I had spent roughly 3 months in UFOlogy which is why I doubted the experience since I was biased.
I was debating whether to delete all my tweets on the subject because I was starting to think it was all one big scam and I was disgruntled with the lack of hard evidence. This pushed me over the edge and made me double down on my obsession. I decided I needed to find more people who had these experiences. So I got in contact with the Toronto CE-5 group (which I left after 2 sessions cause one of the guys running it was a total lunatic). I booked a ticket to the SCU conference and would meet Hal and Lue Elizondo the next month. I needed to know.
I needed to know who these people were, what was going on and if I had officially gone crazy. A lot of you have followed me since post SCU, and I only learned more and more. My life got weirder days after this experience. Very, very weird. First of all, another thing that had happened a few weeks before this was the suicide of someone in my circle. We were not that close but I looked up to him/related to him. Finding out about his death had me traumatized. It was affecting my work &on top of that my inner debunker/believer battles didn’t help.
Yet after the experience, I realized that feeling of oneness had not gone away. The euphoria part, sure. But I was WAYYY better off mentally. I had no more anxiety, no depression or stress or trauma. It was impossible to feel fear. I literally could not feel fear no matter how hard I tried. I felt love for everyone, and it was very hard to make me mad. When I did, it wouldn’t last very long and sizzle out fast. I was objectively the better version of myself. My beliefs in God changed almost instantly too. I went from an atheist to being spiritual.

Off Topic Part 3

I started having dreams of seeing the inside of some of the UAPs we so commonly hear about. Mostly saucers and Orbs. Some of my dream characters spoke only through telepathy. I had never in my life dreamed such things until this year. I’d experience impossible electrical anomalies wherever I went the first 2 weeks after it happened. I started feeling unnerved because I felt I had lost my free will to an extent. I didn’t like that this newfound fearlessness, unconditional love and so on were not coming from me. I didn’t think I had earned it. And that it was not normal, whatever was happening to me. I considered getting an MRI done to see what parts of my brain were rewired so that I could feel this way. It was unnatural (but extremely good and liberating). If the whole world experienced this state of mind I was in, we would level up overnight. I am convinced hate, fear, anger, depression and anxiety would disappear overnight from our society. After a couple of weeks, this feeling/state of mind dwindled down until I was back to my normal self again.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to the way things were those first 2 weeks after the experience. But the next best thing is with conscious effort, I can easily go back to that state of mind. The difference is back then, it was an unconscious effort on my part. I had my first UFO sighting just weeks after this. And have had 4 in total since. 2 of which I’ve recorded. And 3/4 times there were other people with me. So yeah, that’s me. My life changed (for the better), became much more complex and has led me to where I am today.
I don’t know what happened, nor can I prove that this isn’t me having gone crazy (I will pass any psychological test no problem but there will always be doubt, which is fair). But I’m forever grateful for the experience. I’m thankful for everyone I’ve met since then on here. There are countless people I admire and like on here. I believe we will figure this mystery out and that Humanity has an incredible future ahead of it. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

He has been quiet for a while.

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who was acquitted in the 2012 fatal shooting of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin, is suing Martin's family and Florida prosecutors, claiming that they engineered false evidence in the homicide trial.

The lawsuit to be filed Wednesday in Polk County Circuit Court seeks $100million in civil damages for defamation, abuse of civil process and conspiracy.

It alleges that the prosecution's key witness in Zimmerman's 2013 murder trial, Rachel Jeantel, was an imposter coached by the family and their lawyers.

The lead defendant in the suit is Sybrina Fulton, Martin's mother. Fulton gained national notoriety as an advocate for social justice and reducing gun violence in the wake of her son's death.

The family's attorney, Ben Crump, is also named as a defendant. He is accused of defamation and attempting to 'deprive Zimmerman of his constitutional and other legal rights'.

Crump responded to the lawsuit on behalf of himself and Martin's parents in a statement Wednesday.

'This plaintiff continues to display a callous disregard for everyone but himself, revictimizing individuals whose lives were shattered by his own misguided actions,' he said.

'He would have us believe that he is the innocent victim of a deep conspiracy, despite the complete lack of any credible evidence to support his outlandish claims.

'This tale defies all logic, and it's time to close the door on these baseless imaginings.'

Zimmerman is being represented by high-profile conservative legal crusader Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch and a former US Department of Justice prosecutor.

Klayman issued a media statement on Wednesday before the suit was filed.

The complaint outlined in the statement alleges that the Sanford Police Department thoroughly investigated the shooting and closed the case as self-defense.

One week later, the suit claims, Crump produced a recording of 'Diamond Eugene', who he said was Martin's 16-year-old girlfriend who was on the phone with the victims minutes before the confrontation with Zimmerman.

Two weeks later, 18-year-old Jeantel, Eugene's half sister, appeared before the court and 'provided false statements to incriminate Zimmerman based on coaching from others'.

Klayman said the new lawsuit stemmed from shocking allegations exposed in a book that claims Martin's cell phone records prove Jeantel was not on the phone with him before the altercation, and that she 'lied repeatedly to cause Zimmerman's arrest and to try to send him to prison for life'.

The book charges that Eugene was Martin's real girlfriend and did speak with him prior to the shooting.

Tania Cadogan said...

cont.

However, it claims Eugene was switched out for Jeantel when the former refused to testify.

Klayman said several defendants in the suit 'have been proven to know about the switch to the imposter witness' - including Fulton, Crump and Florida prosecutors Bernie de la Rionda, John Guy, Angela Corey.

The attorney said the allegations did not emerge at the trial and that 'the fraud was perpetuated on the court'.

'It was a complete travesty of justice which destroyed my client's life,' Klayman said. 'People are destroyed and smeared and they have to start fighting back.'

The lawsuit also names Harper Collins as a defendant, accusing the publisher of defaming Zimmerman by publishing Crump's book, Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People, 'with actual malice knowing the untruth or at a minimum a reckless disregard for the truth'.

Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Martin in a gated community in Sanford Florida in February of 2012.

Martin, who lived in Miami Gardens but was in Sanford to visit his father, was returning from the store after buying candy when Zimmerman, then 28, reported him as a suspicious to police.

Zimmerman claimed that when he approached Martin the teen attacked him, so he fired his weapon in self defense.

Prosecutors said Martin was minding his own business and that there was no justification for the shooting.

Martin's death in 2012 shook the nation and launched the Black Lives Matter Movement after Zimmerman was charged with murder and later acquitted by a jury.

Zimmerman remained in the public glare after his acquittal because of a lengthy trial.

I have a sense that Peter is mulling the case over in his head, frustrated on some level by Justin’s poverty of language & how difficult that makes analysis. Please discuss the Ayla case on this thread & stop posting off topic for Ayla’s sake and to respect Peter’s blog.

Anna thanks for speaking up. So helpful.

I am new to this, but I feel like Phoebe's language contains scary imagery.

Things like:

Casing the House (case like a box/container)
Pandora's Box
Good Samaritan (someone may have asked Phoebe if she needed help thinking her car was broken down when she was disposing of Ayla)

I believe Phoebe dumped Ayla in the woods off of a main highway.

If I have time I will rewatch the Phoebe interview and see what jumps out at me.

Thank you.

OFF TOPIC Part 1

Matilda said...

“I am curious to know whether folks here think he is being sincere / truly believes what he is saying.”

Hi Matilda you took the time to post this so I will give my opinion. As far as the account goes it is not based from experiential memory. When a person tells us what happened (recalls) their mind automatically sorts the information into chronological order. When they relay the information we expect it to flow and make sense. We expect things to be revealed to us exactly as they were revealed to the speaker. We look at what information is given, but also at what information is missing from their account. The speaker in this case uses a lot of passive language. They give information without detail, and what happens is the listener ends up filling in the blanks which helps the story teller out.

If I said “I fell down” you would have limited information to work from, I would have been passive in my language. If I had said “I tripped and fell down” I would be giving you more information to work with, but you may still wonder what it was I had tripped over. The more information I give the bigger picture you get of my accident. If I had at some point in my account I had mentioned it had been snowing and it was freezing before using the passive “I fell down” you might fill in the blanks and conclude I had slipped on some ice or snow etc… I would not have told you that, you would have made that conclusion on your own.

I didn’t tell you I slipped on ice so be careful as I might have missed something out of my account. What if I had been drinking and was about to get in my car and drive to work? I may automatically recall the “falling down” but then omitted the reason why as it is sensitive to me and could land me in trouble.

Another reason for omitting information is when a story is being made up. The speaker has no real events in his mind to work from so ends up with big holes in their account. This is what happened in the case of the story you posted. Be aware the speaker knew his story was weak and primed the listener before he started his account:

“More [specific] details will be for [another time] when I have a better safety net and can expand more”

Don’t expect any “specific” details from the speaker about this event as they will be given at “another time”. Note “another time” is non-specific. He puts a condition on the “another time” by saying “when”. The condition is on having a “better safety net”. This tells us he already has a safety net (possibly a strait jacket) and when it is better he can tell us more “specific details”.

He is priming the listener/reader that there is no point asking any specific questions as he cannot answer them. The listener will have to take his word for everything and fill in the blanks (and there’s a lot of them) in his story. He moves on to preface his account with the words “to put it simply”. He is going to be giving the simple version of his story which means lots of missing information.

Adrian.

OFF TOPIC Part 2

Here are some examples of the problems with the speakers account (and it is riddled with problems).

“But to put it simply: I was paralyzed against my will, could not move, and saw 3 entities that had no-chill.”

“I was paralyzed against my will”

How did it happen, how did it start, what did it feel like, how long did it take to occur etc…? He doesn’t tell us and we expect if it had happened to someone it would be so traumatic they would remember every little detail. Did it start with a tingling sensation, did it happen suddenly or slowly etc…

“I was [paralyzed] against my will, [could not move]”

He hasn’t lied about the non-specific/simply part of his account. He tells us he was paralyzed, but fails to mention how (passive language). Then says he could not move which is unnecessary information as he has just told us he was paralysed. A few sentences later he says –

“I was terrified that I could [barely] move”

From his initial “paralysed” and “could not move” he tells us he could move (“barely”) which shows the speaker is deceptive.

“and saw 3 entities that had no-chill.”

He saw “3” entities with three being the liar’s favourite number. A little later he tells us:

“I had spent roughly 3 months in UFOlogy”

Again we see use of the liar’s favourite number.

One last example:

“I got knocked out/lost consciousness. And woke up “instantly”. Not a minute had gone by since the experience started.”

He starts with passivity again “I got knocked out”. He fails to tell us how, why and all the other good stuff we expect, but he knows he “woke up instantly” and that “not a minute” had gone by. If you are knocked out when you come round you have no idea how long you were out for, you certainly can’t say I woke up instantly as you have no way of knowing how long you were unconscious. Bear in mind the speaker has told us he was “paralysed” so we doubt he checked his watch the moment he got knocked out and the moment he woke up.

I could go on and on as the account is full of inconsistencies but I don’t have time. I didn’t happen. Going back to Matilda`s question of ““I am curious to know whether folks here think he is being sincere / truly believes what he is saying.”

I can tell you his story is pure fabrication. Whether he believes it I can’t say, only a specialist could draw a conclusion on his mental health and let you know. The main thing is that those who read it don’t believe it. One thing is certain though; he will never be out of work. The mainstream media are crying out for people who can write such accounts or perhaps he could opt for a career in politics :)
