How could Ayla's case have gone so cold?

Why did they never name Justin a suspect?

One thing that is odd to me is how McCausland always says he suspects the "three" adults in the home know more than they're saying. He never just says "the adults in the home". You would think he would start saying just "the adults in the home" since everyone knows there were three. It makes me wonder if he actually suspects Phoebe has information also or some other peripheral person, it just seems odd he always reiterates the "three" adults in the home.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-13936073303639277382014-12-23T15:28:45.872-05:002014-12-23T15:28:45.872-05:00Beyond WHO committed the crime. Insect activity removed all traces that she had been raped?? Even in 1996, how did the court even allow the prosecution to make this argument? Especially since it directly conflicted with the pathologist's findings that in addition to no biological evidence of rape, there was ALSO no physical evidence such as perineal bruising, tearing etc. Did the "insect activity" also remove that evidence?Droll Skeptichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17551752366336596808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-75579141701906792752014-12-23T13:53:37.956-05:002014-12-23T13:53:37.956-05:00Hi Peter if you have time could you have a look at...Hi Peter if you have time could you have a look at this plea from the girlfriend of a missing man? They can and do use multi syllable words, but sometimes the profane is simply more effective to convey an opinion. And bonus- you know even an idiot can understand what you're saying.
Swear words reveal more about what the speaker thinks of the listener, than the intellect of the speaker.
Too bad that post was deleted before I could read it.Saranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-81509056537482006802014-12-22T09:31:42.357-05:002014-12-22T09:31:42.357-05:00And YOU at 7:13 are just another nasty nutso who c...And YOU at 7:13 are just another nasty nutso who can only think of profane words to use because you are lacking in intellect. Intelligent people don't need to use these obscene words; they have a more well-rounded vocabulary.

John has every right to update off topic cases if he sees fit; as well, Peter has made them welcome.

John, thank you for the updates. "This case is the largest criminal case in Maine history. We are as determined today as we were three years ago."

Ayla was reported missing by her father, Justin DiPietro, who called 911 the morning of December 17th, 2011, after he said Ayla was missing from her crib. "We still feel that those three adults in that home that night know more than they've told us, and our doors are always open to tell the full story," McCausland said.

Detectives found Ayla's blood in the basement of DiPetro's house, but he has never been named a suspect in the case. The toddler remains a missing person as police have never located a body. However, investigators have said they don't believe Ayla is still alive. Ayla's mother, Trista Reynolds, has insisted since the little girl vanished that DiPietro had something to do with it.

"Something terrible happened to Ayla that night, whether it was by accident or done on purpose," Trista told WCSH6 in 2012. "But people need to be brought to justice."

With another holiday season here, Trista says that she is still hopeful that police will find out what happened the night her daughter disappeared. "If she is out there somewhere and she sees me out on TV, mommy says Merry Christmas and I love her."

http://www.nbcnews.com/dateline/cold-case-spotlight-ayla-reynolds-n272766John Mc Gowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00430624388902099338noreply@blogger.com
