Thanks for the reply, you've give...@anon 4.56pm
Thanks for the reply, you've given lots of food for thought.

I suppose when I referred to KK "not deserving to be robbed", I'm assuming everyone is more or less equal incl. KK and it also assumes, rather naively on my part, that in a perfect world, no one should be robbed and that person (the victim) shouldn't be forced to "hide their possessions" for fear of being robbed.

You are correct in the sense that it's everyone's own responsibility for their own security and to take precautions to deter crimes. Some people would cry "victim blaming" though I see the distinction in what you are conveying.

I note that my position is rather more liberal than yours in terms of how one "covers themselves" in public. Without thinking too critically about it, I believe that a person should be able to wear what they like as long as they cover their unmentionables, though I realize that opens up another whole line of conversation in terms of what defines "unmentionables"! I respect your position in this regards though, as I generally have a respect for most conservative points of view whilst not necessarily agreeing 100% on them.

The burkini ban, which you alluded to is something that I ideologically agree with, but only on the basis that it perpetuates the myth that the burka is a choice that all muslim women have. I however don't agree with (the ban) simply because it's pointless and actually adds to the issues over something that I feel is ultimately inconsequential. Ie, it gives Muslims another reason to complain. Anyone could theoretically wear a burkini, so for that reason I feel it's pointless to force people not to wear it.

Jon The Laymannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-63977574773808227652016-10-06T16:56:45.269-04:002016-10-06T16:56:45.269-04:00No one deserves to be robbed the way she was? Does a normal person not understand displaying jewellery openly invites criminal opportunity in a degraded society? Why does it take the vileness of islam to address the the immorality of western nude culture? Men and women were modestly covered at the beach not long ago. Non beach public space is now accepted for immodest attire. Public nudity is a spiritual crime causing others to lust. And its the vileness of islam addressing the issue in a violent manner. When the subject was (I'm guessing) too complicated, Kaine pivoted to "Trump said, [...]." "Trump doesn't pay taxes." Pence addressed taxes twice and then nailed it it home when he said (paraphrasing) he understood why he had to keep harping on [taxes/"he said"] -- he was just doing what their focus group told him to do.
