You have to be open minded to take them in consideration.

1. Why did Reeva took her phone with her?
a) some people do take their phone to the bathroom to check their messages. Myself included.
b) The TOILET light was broken, not the bathroom, but the toilet light. So she used her phone as a flashlight.

2. Why did Reeva locked herself in the toilet?

Assuming that OP version is true, this is what I think might have happened:

Reeva went to the bathroom. She relieved herself, because according to the autopsy she didn't have urine in her bladder at all, which indicates that she peed before she was shot.

Back in the bedroom, OP hears a noise, takes his gun and goes to the bathroom.
OP said he was shouting to the "intruder" to get the f*** out of his house.
What if Reeva heard him, but could't know that OP thought the "intruder" was in the bathroom. So she locked herself in the toilet and kept silent because she was scarred of the "intruder" she thought OP was chasing? And it also makes sense in this scenario that she was standing in front of the door.

This is what I would have done if I would be in a room/bathroom and hear my boyfriend shouting to someone to get out of the house.
I would lock myself in and stay in silence, to not give my position or presence away.

All of this don't make any sense if OP is not telling the truth.

And I have a question myself:
If she run to the toilet scarred of OP and obviously had the phone with her, why didn't she called somebody for help? Because both the prosecutor and the defense agree that he wasn't wearing his prosthetic legs when she shot her. He clearly took longer to go to the bathroom than Reeva, so she had enough time to place a call, even if she wouldn't have time to talk before OP shot her? Why didn't she?

What really bugs me is the absence of a proven MOTIVE. Nel's assumption that a fight took place is not enough for me. Because for his version to be true he must assume an argument took place, but he can't prove it.
Before anybody can attack me :), Nel had witnesses who claim they heard an argument, woman screaming, but the defence will have OP 2 closest house neighbors testify that they din't hear any argument, nor a woman scream. Who to believe in this case?

OP was media paranoid. He was very careful with his public image. The restaurant gunshot, when he told a friend to take the blame for the incident so it wouldn't go out...

So suddenly he has an argument with his gf and shots her, without realizing that his "hero" image will die too the very same second regardless of what story he tells?
There is no proof OP physically abused against any of his previous girlfriends or Reeva, and out of nowhere one night OP wakes up and says to himself: "Well, this chick pissed me off, I'm gonna kill her. The h*** with my career or my public image". Because Nel says it was premeditated, not that he lost his mind. Premeditation implies he consciously killed her. He made the conscious decision to kill hell, meaning he was aware of the consequencies.
I just don't buy it. Something doesn't sit right to me.

I'm not saying OP is innocent, far from it. At the end of the day he killed Reeva. But looking at both versions (the state and the defense), it makes a little more sense to me his version.

I admit I could be very wrong and OP is cold blood murderer. But what if I'm not?

NihilSineDeonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-2859716758392140732014-04-12T07:02:07.321-04:002014-04-12T07:02:07.321-04:00Thank you for that explanation, I've been so c...Thank you for that explanation, I've been so curious about her broken arm. Neighbor's testimony seems to support this, since the first set of sounds she heard were in very rapid succession, so it is unlikely to have come from a bat. Four bullet holes. Two different sets of neighbors reported that they sounded like, "Bang . . . bang, bang, bang."

Prosecutor argues that he would have heard her screaming and could have stopped, since the first bullet hit her in the hip. (Later bullets would have rendered her unable to scream, as she was shot in the brain and her airways filled with blood).

2) Reeva was hit in the right front hip. She was STANDING and facing the door when she was shot, so she sure as heck wasn't in there to use the bathroom.

3) Pistorius claims they got ready for bed together and then fell asleep. He woke up later to bring the fans in, after which he claimed to have heard an "intruder." Reeva was in her street clothes and NOT dressed for bed when she was found dead, casting doubt on Pistorius's story.

4) Reeva was found with her cell phone, and the bathroom door was LOCKED.

5) Neighbor woke up at 1:56a and heard an extremely loud argument. At 3a, three sets of neighbors reported "petrified" screams from a woman like she was "being attacked." She was "screaming for her life." Then, they heard shots fired. After that, they heard a separate man's voice, putting a hole in Pistorius's defense that he screams like a woman when distressed. (Lol, desperate much? He's really reaching there.)
MBeaglenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-370745996431783732014-04-12T04:59:46.541-04:002014-04-12T04:59:46.541-04:00Regarding Reeva's broken arm:

It was hanging from her body.

----------

I have been watching the trial with an open mind, but SO many pieces of evidence are working against him. Has there been any other mention or news about that, or just his one mention of it?

Unless it was so oddly out of shape, mangled, or the bone through the skin, how would he know right off, just by looking, that her arm was broken? Obviously it was just the two of them in the house, him with all the weapons, her hiding from him, pretty obvious he broke her arm. I think whoever pondered if he broke her arm, and she then ran and hid in the bathroom, seems very plausible. I can't think of how else her arm got broken. Not from a bullet, right? Not from him hitting the door, right? I also question his immediate knowledge of her broken arm, and that being one of the first things he notices. - Has it been said how many bullets, and if they all went through the door first?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-89210022304332510142014-04-11T00:11:49.293-04:002014-04-11T00:11:49.293-04:00Anon..you would think so. Still not sure how there was blood on the bat and the bedroom wall if she had not been assaulted prior to being in the toilet tho.... So I think that has yet to be explained.

Mr Botha outlined that the forensic evidence shows there were three bullet wounds: one on the right hand side of the head above the ear, one in the elbow which broke her arm, the third in her hip.

A cricket bat “was used to break down the top part of the toilet door” but an autopsy of Miss Steenkamp gave no indication she had otherwise been assaulted.

trustmeigetithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707304982363758140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-46322054062220473202014-04-10T14:09:35.599-04:002014-04-10T14:09:35.599-04:00Angelina and 5emerald29 ….
I do think that ...

Angelina and 5emerald29 ….

I do think that everything he has said makes no sense at all. I think he did open the window as it was part of his theory.

Also, I think that he is trying to explain things away and in doing so, is changing his story and making him look less reliable.

The legs.. I think its likely they were on. I really think he chased her into the bathroom. The door being locked as my main reason for this. My ex was abusive. I often used the bathroom for refuge and I always locked the door in there. That immediately stuck out to me. To lock it in the middle of the night makes no sense. Unless she was scared. I think she was. I also think that's why her phone was with her. I think she was going to call for help. I think she was standing and the first bullet hit her and she dropped it in the toilet.

Then the broken arm… I have not seen anything about this more in detail, but I really believe that he initially hit her with the bat. There is blood on this and on the bedroom wall. I think she was running from him to the bathroom after this. I think he then tried to get to her by breaking the door then shot when it didn’t work. Its possible he broke her arm with the bat. But I also think I read something about her arm being hit by one of the bullets. I think that could have broken her arm? But not sure.
trustmeigetithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707304982363758140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-11336978728118201822014-04-10T13:55:34.885-04:002014-04-10T13:55:34.885-04:00I have some questions re:the broken arm. That is one of the first things he says he notices when entering upon the bathroom is noticing her broken arm hanging there. It leads me to think that this is very sensitive to him.
Here is some conjecture:
Oscar and Reeva get into a volatile argument, he breaks her arm. She runs into the bathroom and locks the door to get away from him. By now he already in a severe rage, he's aware that she is could bring him down and in his mind that can't happen so he picks up his gun and starts shooting......I guess this could be plausible??. More than his story in my opinion. I have to say how many times do we as humans jump right out of bed without our eyes adjusting to the darkness and getting our bearings. The only time I have ever done that is when one of my little houdini's (babies) were not in their beds. Oscar wasn't scared when he went to get the fan. So he had time to get his bearings. This whole I didn't know, couldn't see, doesn't sit well with me. Also he keeps using the word vulnerable. I wonder if its because he did hurt her before she went into the bathroom and as a result could have ruined his reputation. Which would make him vulnerable. From everything that I have read, I get the feeling that his reputation or standing in the community was the utmost importance to him. He didn't want to be sullied an shape or form. 5emerald29noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-29066237098871301092014-04-10T12:54:28.713-04:002014-04-10T12:54:28.713-04:00Trustme, Thanks for the info. That is what Oscar ..." I made a mistake"

That is what Oscar said. A mistake. Just one. However, if everything really happened the way he is telling us, he must have gone through numerous scenario's that would have prevented this outcome.
If only he had put on the light. If only he had interpreted the sounds in the bathroom as - even possibly - coming from Reeva. If only he had made sure it was not Reeva. If only he made made sure the ladder under the window was removed. If only he had waited for Reeva to answer before starting to shoot. If only he had just fired a warning shot. if only he had not shot four times, but shot just once and waited for the reaction. If only he had decorated his room to have a light source in the middle of the night. If only he had not asked Reeva to come over that night. If only Reeva had not drunk this last glass to make her need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. if only, if only, if only.
Numerous mistakes, that each would have prevented this tragic outcome.

But Oscar only admits to one mistake. Killing Reeva.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
