Maine Police: Psychics Need Not Call

In the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Ayla Reynolds, police said that they do not want psychics to even call anymore.

This tells us something important:

It tells us that they have been forced to waste valuable resources following up the deceptive tips from the fakes who claim 'psychic' power, yet fear not following up every tip due to media scrutiny.  This is often the case with law enforcement:  Rather than simply take the call and throw the notes in the trash, they do not want people claiming to have psychic power to even call them.

Psychics are deceivers and those who say "I work pro bono for law enforcement" take their deception even further, attempting to convince others that they actually "work" for law enforcement, giving themselves credibility.  The need for such underlies the deceptive nature of claiming to access information outside the human senses.

Q.  Are all psychics liars?
A.  Yes

Their language does not come from memory, and shows the intent to deceive, no different than any other liar.

Q.  Objection:  sometimes they are right!
A.  Even a broken clock is right twice a day.  People even win the lottery sometimes.

As covered previously, parents, for example, are plagued with thousands of worrisome thoughts over their children each day.  Once in a while, the odds hit, and something happens and the parent thinks that they had a 'psychic' experience.  Not so.  Of their thousands of negative thoughts, one passed when the child experienced an accident.  999 thoughts passed without an accident.

As reported previously, in all the well known missing persons cases, thousands of people claiming to be 'special' or 'intuitive' or 'psychic' have weighed in on these cases and have not found a single missing person.

Q.  Objection:  They get their own TV shows!
A.  So does an obese bratty child guzzle sugar for breakfast.  It is part of the dumbing down of America.

Enough on psychics.  If you believe in psychic power, you need not read Statement Analysis, which is based upon principle.  Statement Analysis concludes that those who make psychic claims are deceptive.  The science and the claims do not agree.  I would not invest my time with a system that was 50% successful and 50% failure. With success rates lower than the odds of winning a national lottery, there are better ways to waste time than giving a deceptive and narcissistic person a listen.  This is at best.  At worst, is the broken hearted and vulnerable parent falling prey to the deception.  Statement Analysis is to get to the truth via principle, while 'psychics' are for the Elvis sightings.  It has no place in science, nor in the quest to obtain justice for a murdered child.

Regarding the meeting police had with the DiPietros in November, this can be viewed as an olive branch of sorts, allowing for them to come 'clean' about what happened, that is, so that they can say something accidental happened that night. It reveals weakness on the part of either police, or prosecutors, just as the passage of time reveals weakness.

The DNA found may or may not be blood, police said yesterday, but it belongs to Ayla, which means it would have been in liquid form (stain) which leaves the same conclusion that Ayla is dead.  The DiPietros and their attorney can talk about "hope" as a defense technique, but it does not change reality.

By having a "frank" talk, police are actually showing the standstill caused by the three "withholding information" that did not "pass the straight face test" when originally made.

The circumstantial evidence against DiPietro remains strong, yet by reaching out to him, they may signal a willingness to allow him to make a deal.

The issue of three liars all keeping to the same story makes prosecution difficult, but it is not impossible.  They are attendant charges that could be brought and this may be where the police investigators are in frustration with the prosecutors:

Police say, 'we have brought you enough to prosecute, so let's go!' whereas prosecutors say, 'we want more, and get one of the three to crack.'

This has not happened.

As far as public information goes, it appears that the two women present (and deceptively withholding information about a child's demise) continue to have custody of their own children.  It is not known why Ayla's mother has not followed through with her threatened lawsuit.

This is beyond imagination.

The public is steadily losing confidence in Maine law enforcement and ability to solve crimes, and this may put investigators squarely against lawyers (prosecutors) when it comes to casting blame.

Comments show a deep frustration and this past fall when crime rate solving was posted for the State, the public frustration was justified.

From what we know about the case, including the failed polygraphs, DNA (or blood) evidence in the basement, the implausible story, the life insurance policy and the history of violence, it is difficult to imagine why arrests were not effected last year.

The lack of confidence in the police statement is evident.

Police Spokesman Steve McCausland:

"I'm not going to disclose what was discussed, but it was a frank conversation. So there has been some renewed communication."
Note the presentation in the negative as important.
Next, note that he called it a "frank conversation."

When asked whether the conversation changed the course of the investigation, McCausland said no.
"We wanted to give them an update, and we were very frank in the information we shared with them," he said. "I viewed the meeting with the DiPietros as positive."

Note the change from "frank" to "very frank"; as well as "frank conversation" to "very frank in the information we shared with them"; not "frank" nor "very frank" in the information the DiPietros gave to police.

This does not bode well for those hoping for justice for Ayla Reynolds.

This may have spoken to the DiPietros that their stonewalling of "withholding information" is a successful tactic.  The DiPietro's attorney's statement about "hope" that Ayla is alive also highlights the failure of the case as police have told the public that Ayla is dead having met foul play in the home.

Maine residents have not forgotten Ayla.

Trista Reynolds could consider a "wrongful death" civil lawsuit (there are other suits she could bring, including those involving child abuse) which could, a la the Goldmans against OJ, bring some answers.  When the OJ jury decided to acquit the killer because of the pigment of his skin, the Goldmans did not give up.

Perhaps Trista Reynolds, in her own time of healing, should consider contacting Ron Goldman's family to seek advice.

Ayla deserves this much.

Who is to blame, police or prosecutors?

Here is another statement by McCausland:

The investigation is not going to close until we get the answers necessary. The big answer is, where is Ayla?
We will work as long as it takes to get the answer to that question,”

The investigation goes on until they get the "answers", not find Ayla.
This is a critical difference and does show the commitment by police in the investigation, more than the search.

McCausland said. “We will never close this case until we get the answers. It will take as long as it takes to get those answers. We have a committed team. They’re in it for the long haul. We’re in it for Ayla.

Again, for police, it is about getting answers; that is, solving the case, and not finding Ayla.  Finding Ayla is only a part of closing the case.

It may be that police believe that they do have enough for trial, but that prosecutors feel otherwise.

Next to yesterdays awful news; " This does not bode well for those hoping for justice for Ayla Reynolds."...

Thanks for this post, Peter!

You have stated lots of things that I was thinking about.

I hate people who use tragedy to further their own private agendas of deception to gain converts, and victims through exploitation of their distress.

I call that cruelty.

It's about time that someone calls these frauds into accountability for what they say.

Thank you for your continued coverage on this Peter! I hope the convictions are coming....and Peter, you know my feeling on Civil Suits! Go for it Trista!!!
All I can say to those who believe and trust in psychics - name one baby that they recovered (dead or alive) on their innate abilities? Is the even One child that they recovered to the longing arms of the parents?! Is there any? Truly?
Bottom line-JUSTICE FOR AYLA MUST HAPPEN!!!! Prosecute without her tiny little body, they just did it in DETROIT! Guilty times 3.
Most Sincerely,
Meag

They do not want psychics to call anymore because they know what happened to Ayla.

it is too late after the fact now. I believe that if authorities would have put any other children in the house in "protection" after Ayla was reported missing this would be a done deal.

I agree Frannie. I don't get why LE listens to psychics, and spends money on their claims. I know LE must do all they can in these cases, and follow every credible lead, but why are psychics considered credible?

Frannie....yep. you're right. If they took the their kids out of the home for a jun bee of reasons. Abuse... neglect....etc. one of those dirtbags would have broke.

Please help find Ayla
Yesterday's tragedy is sinking in, there's an awful weight to it. Statement Analysis can help answer some of the questions. If the LE in Maine knew the technique they could save valuable time and resources.

Lying psychics piss me off and I have caught quite a few. Conning people out of money. What a wormy way of getting money. Their lies are mucking up investigations wasting valuable time and resources. I don't get get why someone would want to do such a thing especially when children are involved. It's heartless.

I would like to see a Statement Analysis of one of the big time psychics such as John Edward, James Van Praagh, Allison DuBois. They have honed their deceptive skills to a fine point. It would be interesting to see their cons taken apart piece by piece.

Peter, did you see this interview with Trista on ABC? She says in the interview that justin called derek before the 911 call.

I'm praying for Ayla that her case does not go the way of others, cold. I'm really tired of LE knowing the who, the what, the when, the how but cannot move forward because they don't have the body. This is sending a very bad message.

It's time for LE to take hold of their case and push it forward. The future of our children's lives are at stake.

TV psychic’s sick
‘Maddie dead’ claim
Spirit told me she’s gone, says Acorah

Psychic fury ... Derek Acorah upset McCanns
Exclusive

PSYCHIC Derek Acorah has outraged Kate and Gerry McCann by insisting daughter Madeleine is dead.
The TV medium, who claims a messenger from the spirit world gave him the information, said: “She’s not on this earth any more.”
A source close to the McCanns said: “They are sickened by this.”
Acorah, 62, has added to Kate and Gerry’s anguish by claiming Madeleine died years ago — and will soon be reincarnated.
He said: “I know her parents are convinced Maddie is alive and I’m really sorry - but the little one has been over in the spirit world for some time.
“I don’t think she’ll be there long before she reincarnates.
“When children pass over who haven’t had full lives I believe they choose the time to come back in the same form again — as another little girl.”
The McCanns are said to be disgusted by Acorah’s claims. A source said: “Kate and Gerry are sickened. This character Derek Acorah is nothing but a self-publicist. It’s incredibly distasteful and insensitive.”

Missing ... Madeleine McCann
Millionaire medium Acorah, ex-host of TV’s Most Haunted, claimed a messenger from the spirit world named Sam told him Madeleine was dead — shortly after she vanished in Praia da Luz, Portugal, five years ago.
He said: “I got asked to go over there at the very beginning and I said to my wife that I was going to go. But then she showed me some emails from a number of psychics who were already there.
“There were four of them and they were coming to a blank.”
Acorah claimed he sought guidance by contacting Sam — his spirit “guide”. He said: “I sat in my meditation room and I asked the spirit world and Sam confirmed she was dead. It is horrible but he said there was no purpose for me to go there.
“He said the reason the others cannot get a link is because the little one had already come over. She’s not on this earth any more.”

Hope ... Kate and Gerry McCann with pic of how daughter Madeleine may look now
Acorah said he decided not to go to Portugal to spare the McCanns unnecessary suffering.
He added: “I wasn’t going to bring extra misery to them. I do know that they will find out what happened to Maddie one day.” Acorah made his claims days after the McCanns marked the fifth anniversary of three-year-old Madeleine’s disappearance from the holiday resort. He was speaking while promoting his latest tour.
Detectives are following more than 100 leads — many of which suggest Madeleine is still alive.
A spokesman for the McCanns said: “Kate and Gerry believe their daughter is alive and the Metropolitan Police are currently pursuing an investigation to that effect.
“If anyone credible has any credible evidence that she is alive they should come forward

Contn:

Acorah last night said he was surprised that his comments had upset the McCanns.
He added: “I was only making those statements to explain why I didn’t go to Portugal.
“I would hate to offend or upset the McCanns as a parent myself.”
Acorah caused offence in 2009 by claiming Michael Jackson’s ghost contacted him at a seance.
And in 2005 George Best’s friends accused him of cashing in after he claimed he would speak with the dead football legend.
Kate, 44, and Gerry, 43, are still raising cash to support their continuing hunt for Madeleine.
Scotland Yard are analysing 40,000 pieces of information.
They believe Madeleine may still be alive — but have been unable to get Portuguese police to reopen their failed investigation.

TV's 'Derek the faker'

DEREK Acorah claims he had his first supernatural experience as a child when he was visited by his dead grandad.
Acorah set himself up as a medium after failing to make the grade as a Liverpool footballer.
He got his break in 2001 on TV’s Most Haunted and became one of the UK’s best known psychics.
But in 2005 he was allegedly outed as a fraud by Most Haunted’s psychologist Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe.
While shooting at a haunted prison in Cornwall, O’Keeffe secretly invented a long-dead jailer called Kreed Kafer — and talked about him while Acorah was in earshot.
Acorah was later filmed becoming “possessed” by the fictional character.
O’Keeffe then revealed the name Kreed Kafer was an anagram of “Derek Faker.” Acorah was later sacked from the show.

I don't understand Peter's statement that McCausland said there might not be blood in the house.

This is what I took from the news: “Meanwhile, the family’s attorney said the DNA evidence found in the toddler’s home might not be blood.”

I thought it was NOT McCauseland or LE who said this but Phoebe and Elisha DiPietro's lawyer.

And it's an old defense lawyer's trick statement. He didn't say no blood was found only that the evidence found MIGHT NOT be blood.

Of course LE or their PR man, McCauseland, will seldom correct or refrute statements by people in this case. I wonder if LE had been more forthcoming . someone might have come forward with information he had. Talk about holding a case close to the vest.

Well, if LE doesn't go after the 3 responsible adults, then she sure as hell should! Ayla deserves justice!!! I can't believe that Courtney Roberts and Elisha still have custody of their children!
