Anthony Wiener: Deception Upon Deception

As readers may remember, the original statements of Anthony Wiener were analyzed and deception was indicated.

We received a letter insisting we "cease and desist", but continued, as he spoke publicly.  We agreed to cease and desist when he ceased from lying.

He resigned and since then has now come back to run for office, and as the public learns that his deception and perversity continued after his 'mea culpa' (minus the 'mea'), his poll numbers have increased.  He 'repented' and sought help, and then continued with his ways.

New York media has gone silly with their non-doubling entendre headlines, yet one teacher had the courage to speak against him.

If those closest to you cannot trust you, how can you ask the public to trust you?

Teacher lectures Weiner over bad behavior

Boy, did she teach naughty boy Anthony Weiner a lesson!
In a public spanking, retired public-school teacher Peg Brunda refused to shake Anthony Weiner’s hand after telling him his pervy behavior made him unfit to be mayor.
Had I conducted myself in the manner in which you conducted yourself, my job would have been gone,” the 30-year teaching veteran told Weiner during a visit to Superstorm Sandy-damaged homes on Staten Island.
“In the privacy of your home?” asked Weiner defensively.
Note that she did not ask him a direct question, but made a statement seeking response.  He responded with a question.  To whom is this addressed?  To the teacher?  To himself?  The teacher responded:
“In the privacy of my home . . . I don’t quite understand how you would feel you would have the moral authority as the head administrator in this city to oversee employees when your standard of conduct is so much lower than the standard of conduct that’s expected of us.

Weiner, surrounded by a horde of cameras and reporters responded, “Are you not voting for me?”
The lifelong Staten Islander shot back, “I would not vote for you sir, quite obviously.”
I certainly understand that,” he came back. “But I want to let other people make the decision for themselves.”
Toward the end of their three-minute tête-à-tête — which got heated at times — Weiner said he was sticking it out in the race because of the things he cares about.
I think you care about your ego more than anything else,” Brunda interjected.
Brunda later told The Post she had refused to shake lecherous Weiner’s hand because his behavior “skeeves me.”

Weiner, surrounded by a horde of cameras and reporters responded, “Are you not voting for me?”

The lifelong Staten Islander shot back, “I would not vote for you SIR,QUITE OBVIOUSLY .”

The shortest sentence is always the best.

"I would not vote for you",is a stronger statement.

QUITE OBVIOUSLY weakens her statement. Was she going to vote for him IF all this had not come out.

She uses the word "SIR".

This word shows respect, and is used by subordinates.

Does she always address candidates this way,and or politicians.

Given that she is a teacher, this could be common language used by her to address her colleagues who are in a higher position.

“I CERTAINLY understand that,” he came back. “But I want to let other people make the decision for themselves.”

The shortest sentence is always the best.

"I understand that". This again is a stronger statement.

He weakens his response by adding the word "CERTAINLY". Which says to me he is not taking this exchange of words that seriously, and he doesn't understand why she will not vote for him,its sounds patronising, and egotistical to me.

Whenever I say 'sir', I am being sarcastic. I use it when I think it is NOT earned. It's like saying, you know what, sweet thing? Or, Let me tell you something, honey chile. My finger's up and my neck is rolllllllin'. Sir is indigenous to the south, but not widely used on the west coast. Neither is ma'am. It matters.

Peter,

You stated, "We received a letter insisting we "cease and desist", but continued, as he spoke publicly. We agreed to cease and desist when he ceased from lying."

Who is "We"? Is the "we" being used to spread around accountability with the readers? Are legal matters the reason your other blog has deleted a few years worth of posts?

The statement analysis you have taught has been quite helpful; it is the opinionated anger and relentless chiding that really has put off many of your readership.

OT:

I have a question for the readers here.

I just read that Ariel Castro pleaded guilty to all charges in exchange for not receiving the death penalty. does that mean there won't be a trial?

I am hoping so, that way his victims won't be revictimized by him in a courtroom, or have to look at his face ever again. IMO this would be the ideal outcome. I don't care if he lives or dies, as long as he is kept away from the public forever!

He did not plead guilty to "all" the charges. 40 charges he did not agree to.

However, the outcome is still the same....no trial. The girls do not have to testify.

They will, however have a shot at his sentencing hearing to speak, if they choose to do so. Sadly, so will he.

Only slightly off topic . . .

There is a blog called body language success (just Google it for web address) that has posted a couple of clips from his statement a few days ago with analysis.

More off topic . . .

I really like the blog. I first heard of it from a poster here (I think it was John). It makes a nice complement (body language analysis) to this one (statement analysis.

Way off topic . . .

John (or whoever knows the body language blog), can you tell me if there are comments associated with it. I've looked carefully over the site several times, but cannot find a link to comments.

"I certainly understand that BUT I want to let other people make the decision for themselves."

He does not understand. His insertion of "but: after a statement negates it.

"I want to let other people" He is not committed to "other people." Why didn't he say other voters?

Anthony Weiner is a noncommittal candidate who cannot be trusted is any position of power. He will abuse his power.

Anonymous said...

IMO, 'other people, other voters', he would be saying the same thing either way since the people are the voters. Also, BUT does not always negate the statement. In this statement I don't think it does. Just my opinion.

What's the deal with you freaks who keep slamming this poster who goes by the name of Observer and occasionally posts? I've never seen anything but intelligent posts being made by this individual.

Maybe that's what it is that you can't stand? You don't want anyone here who might be just a little smarter than you are? This seems to be the message you are conveying.

Some of you are so filed with hatred, rage, paranoia and blindness, that you keep accusing this one and that one of being this observer person; some even making posts using the name observer, when none of those posts seems to have a thing to do with the observer poster. Some of you make complete fools of yourselves. You are so sick with it that you made this poster named Anne out to be Observer and insulted her repeatedly; when if you were so good at statement analysis you would easily see that they are not the same poster.

I don't think you all have the slightest idea who Observer is, you keep shooting in the dark, accusing, guessing and insulting. I've watched other good posters come and go who see what you all are doing to others that you despise for no reason, who want no part in this mental illness that Peter allows and apparently perpetuates himself. It's sick, I tell ya.

The repetitive, insulting comments of late seem to all be written by one individual, due to writing structure and repetitive use of certain words.
So they come from one ip address, or at best, a handful of ip addresses. Peter always says that after a few offensive posts, the offensive poster's address will be recognised and comments will be sent to the spam filter.
So that is a lie..... Or, am I the only one who thinks the Turd Troll may actually be Peter??

Lane, thanks for the Link.

This Vt is a body language fest. Here are just a few i have chosen, there is so much more..

@ 0:32.The Teacher says."
When your standard of conduct is so much lower than the standard of conduct that's expected of us"

Weiner, reaches across with his right hand to touch his left ear. This is a self comfort gesture we do this when we feel stress/anxiety.Some say, this is also an unconscious way of covering are ears when we don't like what we here.

W:Responds by saying, "are you not voting for me".

Here,as he says this he POINTS at her. This is a major Faux Paux, politicians etc should not do this,it is a very aggressive gesture.

@ 0:47 W,says,"You have basically stated what your position is" Here her touch his chest with his fingers, almost like a claw. When people are being sincere, they place the whole hand flat to their chest,as if to say, this is from the heart.

@ 0:53 he says,"let me just answer the question.Again he makes a big mistake, watch his right hand,he raises it with fingers splayed, and starts to pat her down, again this is confrontational body language. What he should have done was to turn his hand over, palm up,and then say"let me answer the question, this is more polite and open.

This is my my personal favorite of part.

@ 1:10,the teacher says,"ive been waiting her for quite a while, and you were quite late i would appreciate it if you would be a little bit more pacific.

Weiner, responds"I apologise madam i thought i was being very considerate".

As he says this he takes a step back, almost as if he is running away from his own apology.

Now watch the anger in his face.Oh boy he is not a happy man.

He does an "Inward Lip Roll" (ILR) is a nonverbal signal of anxiety. More specifically it shows us that the psyche is trying to prevent the escalation and display of strong emotions - usually negative ones

Freeze the vt @ 1:24.WOW is he not pleased.

His eyes are narrowed, his eyebrows are pointed down in the center towards the bridge of the his nose.Notice the clenched jaw,and the narrowing of the lips. These are all signals of anger,if you were in a bar and seen this, get out..

As before, this vt has loads of non verbals in it,not just Weiners, also the teachers. But hay its best to analise him. :-0

Unless I've missed something, all of the women involved with Weiners' sick sex fantasies have been willing participants and are just as nasty as he is. I haven't read about any of them bringing charges against him for sexual harassment, has anyone else?

As for his wife, there is no excuse for her staying with or appearing in public with this POS; NOR does she have an excuse for allowing her little daughter to be raised under his influence of perversion, or in any way exposed to him without court supervision. Someone needs to step in and remove the child from their home.

The campaign manager for New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner resigned over the weekend, following revelations about Weiner’s additional, inappropriate online conversations with women.

Weiner spokeswoman Barbara Morgan confirmed a report Saturday that campaign manager Danny Kedem has resigned

The resignation is the most recent setback for Weiner, a Democrat who resigned from Congress in 2011 after the public learned he had been sending sexual photographs and messages to women via social media accounts.

Last week, Weiner, a married father, publicly acknowledged he continued with the inappropriate messaging after his resignation.

He was forced to discuss his online behavior after a gossip website printed excerpts of his conversations last summer with Indiana college student Sydney Leathers.

Kedem’s resignation was reported first by The New York Times, then confirmed Sunday morning by at least two other news-gathering agencies, including the New York Post, which spoke directly to Weiner.

"Danny has left the campaign,” Weiner told The Post. “He did a remarkable job."

Weiner’s attempted comeback got off to an expected rocky start, but he slowly rose in polls. However, the revelations last week appeared to have lessened his favorability among potential voters.

The most recent NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll shows Weiner’s support among registered Democrats now at 19 percent, a drop of 9 percentage points, with City Councilwoman Christine Quinn now in the lead at 25 percent.

“I think it has become very clear … Weiner has a pattern of misbehavior,” Quinn told NBC’s “Meet the Press,” adding she didn’t think he should stay in the race.

Though the 31-year-old Kedem’s departure is not expected to make a huge impact on Weiner’s day-to-day campaign operation, his departure suggests a loss of support for the candidate amid his already modest staff.

Kedem had managed the re-election of John DeStefano Jr. to a 10th term as mayor of New Haven in 2011and worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to The Times

Here's a whopper of a statement for analysis

from creative director, Michael Shulan

regarding the 911 museum and a photo of 3 American fire-fighters raising the American flag amidst the ruins of the trade centers

he didn't want to use the photo because:

it was too “rah-rah America.”

“I really believe that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently.”

“I REALLY BELIEVE that the way America will look best, the way WE can REALLY do best, is to NOT be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently.”

He takes ownership of the first part of the statement by using the first person pronoun"I","The way american's look best.

He the switches to the pronoun "WE" when it comes down to not being vigilanties,he doesnt take personal ownership, but has a need to share this part..?

REALLY=Is an unnecessary word the sentence word read the same without it.It is also used to convince, yet weakens the statement.

BELIEVE=He only believe's leaving others to believe different.

NOT=Anything said in the negative is noted as sensitive.

IMO,he doesn't believe his own statement, and only wants to be part of america looking their best.

I disagree with the museum guy about the photo and believe it was a time for Americans to be proud and rally. But

"“I believe it is best not to be Americans." Is not an accurate translation.

He is questioning if our collective pride has gone overboard. As a Christian, I know God wants us to be mindful of being proud vs being humble:

He put "look best" first, order matters, so his priority is about appearances before doing best.

I don't believe he is questioning if our collective pride has gone overboard. I think he is stating personally that he is concerned about appearances over substance. Then he seeks to persuade with WE.

Although who on earth would be proud of the monstrosity that is the USA anymore, I don't know.

Anonymous said...

"He put "look best" first, order matters, so his priority is about appearances before doing best."

Well, it's in reference to a display for people to look at, so it's hardly shocking that appearances come first.

He expresses the kind of false humility that allows him to be ashamed of traditional American values while he is at the same time proud of himself for disdaining them. It's elitism and it is an ugly form of pride. There is good pride and there is bad pride. CS Lewis has written well on this.
