Statement Analysis: Ryan Braun 2013

Perhaps instead of a suspension, Braun should work to restore the name of the man who's reputation he ruined...

As previously seen, Ryan Braun was simply unable to bring himself to say "I didn't do it" and sounds like a qualifier on steroids in his 'denial.'  If you recall, it brought laughter from around ball parks.

Here is his latest quote.  Has he learned anything? Has he actually admitted anything in the past?

He tested positive and was suspended; but then his lawyer appealed because the sample wasn't sent in on a timely manner.  Now listen to him carefully:

Does he accept responsibility?  Remember, do not interpret, but listen:

As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization. I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country. Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed – all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love.

For regular readers, please comment on the following:

1.  He does not apologize, as he sets a condition upon it.
2.  He does not admit
3.  He does not accept responsibility
4.  He minimizes
5.  He uses distancing language
6.  Who matters to the subject?  Who is most important?

Re #6:
"I" said 12 times....
"me", "my" said 5 times....

"I", "me", "my" are the most important in braun's uiniverse....

the entire statement reeks of insincerity, he seems to be insulated from real life.

Updated: Thu 10:25 PM, Jul 25, 2013 Revisiting father's reaction (7/25/13)
"She would sing with me and pat my back because when she was a baby that's how I was with her," said Robert Belkhe, the father of 22-month-old Alexis Belkhe. He shared this memory of his daughter, Alexis Belkhe, during an interview with WEAU on June 23rd, one day after his daughter died.

On Thursday, Belkhe's girlfriend, 22-year-old Amanda Butts, was arrested on suspicion of first degree homicide in connection with Alexis Belkhe's death.

During the June 23rd interview with WEAU, he said he believed it was prior health problems that led to his daughter's death and stood by his girlfriend.

"I never saw Amanda physically harm my children, her children, in fairness to her and fairness to everyone no, I honestly think Amanda is a perfectly safe and good mother," he said. "I wouldn't have left my children in her care if I thought she was anything else."

He goes on to say he wants to think of his daughter in a better place, knowing she is safe.

"I just wanna know she is in a better place, I know no one can harm her if it was harm," he said.

He says his kids, including one he shares with Amanda Butts, were taken away at the time for safety since they were home when the death happened. Asked what his priorities were at the time, he said his children and girlfriend.

"I wanna get my kids back, obviously keep my girlfriend out of jail, out of prison that kind of life, you know I want to protect her she is all I got right now," he said.

And at the time, made it clear he was standing by Amanda.

"I don't want people to speculate and go the wrong direction," he said. "Accidents happen and I don't blame no one for it and I don't want anyone to blame her for it," he said.
