Actress Lena Dunham Statement on Dog

Actress Lena Dunham has made headlines for sexually molesting her sister, and stating she wish she had aborted a child for the experience.  Now the topic is not humans, but an pet previously   used for publicity.

She made a public statement about why she got rid of her rescue dog originally adopted from the Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition  facility, that is now countered by them.

She later said, "I'm sorry but I refuse to apologize" for this action.

She sent her dog, " Lamby"  to live at pet facility.

Dunham, 31, announced on Instagram in June that she could no longer keep the dog, of whom she used to increase publicity for herself.

What does she tell us about her experiences?

Was she bit?
Did she have a tetanus shot?

“Last March, after four years of challenging behavior and aggression that could not be treated with training or medication or consistent loving dog ownership, Lamby went to live at an amazing professional facility in Los Angeles. Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others- we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy. Jack and I will miss him forever but sometimes when you love something you have to let it go (especially when it requires tetanus shots and stitches.) Someday I’ll really write about the pain and relief of letting Lamby go off and really be Lamby, biting and peeing in his own mouth and all … Shout out to @jennikonner for listening to endless hours of Lamby pain, and especially my partner @jackantonoff for loving him even when he ruined floors and couches and our life. Jack knows what Lamby means to me and he let me come to the decision in my own time even when it made his days challenging … If you have a similar situation, please know its possible to responsibly re-home your rescue rather than sending them back into the shelter system. It can require patience, diligence and often a financial contribution but there are solutions that leave everyone happy and safe. You will always have been your dog’s first stop outside shelter life and that’s beautiful.”
The subject claimed in a March 2013 New Yorker essay that "Lamby" had three prior homes and a history of abuse, and lamented that the dog didn’t get along with her longtime boyfriend, Jack Antonoff.

Has she been truthful?

In 2014, the actress posted a since-deleted photo of her bleeding rear end and claimed Lamby bit her because he was scared of their doorbell, but noted that the dog had “special needs” and “an amazing trainer.”

However, BARC refuted Dunham’s claims that Lamby was abused prior to Dunham’s adoption.

“We checked the records for Lamby. He was ‘owner surrendered, not enough time,’ so we do not know where she got ‘multiple owners that abused the dog,'” BARC rep Robert Vazquez told Yahoo Celebrity.

“When she adopted the dog from us, it wasn’t crazy. I have pictures of the dog loving on Lena and her mom, which is weird if the dog was abused. It wouldn’t be cuddling with her or be in the bed with her ‘boyfriend’ in the pages of Vogue.”
“If Lamby had a bad past or was abused, do you think BARC would have adopted him to Lena knowing she’s a new star and put her  — or the dog — in that situation? We would have told her if the dog had issues. We are a no-kill shelter. We don’t lie about the dogs’ histories because that gets them returned — and mentally it’s not good for dogs … It’s just hard to believe the dog was nasty when she took Lamby to every green room with her when ‘Girls’ was still a thing 4 years ago.”

Vazquez also took issue with Dunham’s debuting two new puppies on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in February, a month before she claims to have surrendered Lamby to his new home.

She didn’t admit she bought her two new dogs [despite writing in the] New Yorker that dogs shouldn’t be dumped or thrown away because they have feelings,” Vazquez said.

Can you tell who is telling the truth here?

Full interview with Jessica Mitchell, DeOrr's mother
She never said, DeOrr, only my son, also she says "you", a lot when she should have said "I".

Well, what the rescue said was a bit contradictory - they don't lie because that gets the dog returned. So, dogs have been returned because they lied? Also, they would'nt have given her a disturbed dog knowing she is a star - so would they otherwise, and did they anyway?

The boyfriend did not like the dog, and the dog bit them both at different times - the dog is telling the truth - he wanted to bite them both, so he did.

Order is important:
Lamby’s behavior could not be treated with 1. Training, 2. Medication 3. “consistent” loving dog ownership. She treated Lamby's behavior with training, then medication. She gave this dog drugs to change his behavior.
She weakened her love of the dog, by adding the unnecessary “consistent” loving dog ownership. When you love, it is consistent. Not only that, but she even qualified loving. She loves different when it’s for “dog ownership”. She could have easily have stated, “…medication, or love”. But she had to qualify her words. She did not love the dog.
“Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup that made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others- we needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy.”
-she has a need to let people know that her home environment is typical. Whenever they need to portray their home as “normal”, “typical”, it is anything but. Why was it dangerous for him?
She needed to throw in that Lamby suffered not just abuse, but terrible abuse “as a pup”. She needed to add that because she knows this dog has been abused and she wants to lay blame on the previous owners, not her. She needs to make it evident that it is not her. This is like alibi building.
“we” need to be responsible to ourselves. The only person that owns this dog is Lena, sharing blame are we? I think she knows that evidence will surface that Lamby was abused.
“Jack and I will miss him forever but sometimes when you love something you have to let it go (especially when it requires tetanus shots and stitches.)”
--Her attempt at humor is demonstrating that taking care of Lamby is a pain to her. If taking Lamby to get tetanus shots or “stitches” is a burden to her, then indeed, she should give Lamby up. I am curious as to how it came about that Lamby required stitches. I have had plenty of pets and not once have they required stitches. What a nightmare this poor dog must have lived through.
“Jack and I will miss him, but” – By adding “but” she has refuted what she said prior, therefore nope she's not going to miss Lamby.
“Someday I’ll really write about the pain and relief of letting Lamby go off and really be Lamby, biting and peeing in his own mouth and all …”
--This statement is so incoherent. Someday she will “really” write about the pain and relief of letting Lamby go off and really be Lamby”. She is aware that Lamby wasn’t allowed to be Lamby with her. She is disparaging this poor dog by letting people know that he bites and pees in his mouth. She is letting people know that there is a possibility that she may or may not tell the truth.
She’s thankful jennikonner listened to not just hours, but “endless” hours of Lamby pain. She isn’t telling us that she spoke to her for endless hours about Lamby troubles.
She disparages her dog by accusing him of ruining floors, couches and “our” life.
The dog caused Jack challenges. She is not being specific as to what caused Jack to be challenged. Her partner let her "come to the decision". She's not telling us Jack let her decide, but rather come to "the" decision. This was discussed for quite some time.
She thinks others out there have similar situations and wants to lecture them about re-homing their rescue. She is so noble and responsible you see. She has a need to portray herself as having done the right thing. Had she done the right thing from the get-go, she wouldn’t have had a need to try and defend her actions.
She’s a liar.

He did not feel secure, and they were not consistent - the boyfriend did not like him, so he acted out.

'Jack and I will miss him forever but sometimes when you love something you have to let it go (especially when it requires tetanus shots and stitches.) '

Made me wonder, which one of them bit the dog... I suppose people don't go round biting dogs, and dogs don't get tetanus shots, but that is a strange way to word it - they let 'it' - Lamby, go - the same 'it' which required tetanus shots and stitches.

Hey Jude said...

I think she meant it to be understood that the dog bite caused her/her boyfriend to need tetanus jabs and stitches - but that isn't what she said.

If your rescue dog had been abused and was terrified of people, you would probably feel the need to explain the fear - I have one such dog, and in the early days I did worry in case people thought I caused the anxiety, or that they were causing it. She is a feisty, confident little dog now, who, rather than hide when she hears a voice, seeks out attention.

Lamby, however, had no history of abuse; he maybe was already destructive as the previous owner gave him up for lack of time - if he was neglected timewise he probably had developed bad habits. It is concerning she says he was 'terribly abused' as a pup, when that is not in his record - it would be a reason to 'explain' how he was, yet as she made up the record, it seems reasonable to question if they had abused him.

That was a great piece! Thanks for that.

She, the actress, is lying.

If he bit at the sound of a doorbell, perhaps they've been playing loud disturbing music which hurt the dog's ears.

Peeing in his own mouth sounds weird.
they try to be a pseudo-Freudian doggie psychiatrist but fail miserably.

Dogs get tumors like people. What did the veterinarian have to say about the strange behavior?

OT: Anybody want to analyze Steve Whitmire's statement? He was the voice of Kermit the Frog and was fired for two undisclosed issues.

WHITMIRE'S BLOG POST IN FULL

Dear Friends,

In 1978 when I was asked to join The Muppet Show, the Muppets were the hottest thing on the planet. I was invited to sit at the feet of the true masters, Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, and Dave Goelz; working alongside them, absorbing different skills from each, as we, along with many talented others, contributed towards the same shared vision, the vision of one man. The result became a skill-set for myself that was sort of a compilation of the best of them all.

For me the Muppets are not just a job, or a career, or even a passion. They are a calling, an urgent, undeniable, impossible to resist way of life. This is my life's work since I was 19 years old. I feel that I am at the top of my game, and I want all of you who love the Muppets to know that I would never consider abandoning Kermit or any of the others because to do so would be to forsake the assignment entrusted to me by Jim Henson, my friend and mentor, but even more, my hero.

As I am sure you can imagine, I have experienced every possible emotion since October 2016, when I received a phone call from The Muppets Studio's executives to say they were recasting. Through a new business representative, I have offered multiple remedies to their two stated issues which had never been mentioned to me prior to that phone call. I wish that we could have sat down, looked each other in the eye, and discussed what was on their minds before they took such a drastic action.

I have remained silent the last nine months in hopes that the Disney company might reverse their course. Doing what is best for the Muppets is the lens through which all my interactions have been filtered. Given the opportunity I remain willing to do whatever is required to remedy their concerns because I feel my continued involvement with the characters is in the best interest of the Muppets.

For decades, you have been an invaluable partner in co-creating the existence of the Muppets, and I am humbled by your devotion to them. There is so much more for us to talk about so I have created this site as a place to connect and share on all things Muppet, past, present and future.

Please forgive any faux pas as I have not been active in social media previously and have a serious learning curve. I just want you all to know that I am sorry if I have disappointed any of you at any point throughout our journey, and to let everyone know that I am devastated to have failed in my duty to my hero.

It was the author of this post that stated SHE had tetanus shots and stitches after posting a photo of her azz for the world to see how cruelly her dog was treating her.

Someday she'll REALLY expand on the psycho-drama of the dog and her boyfriend BUT not at this sitting

Seems clear that her bf/fiance got sick of the dog. But she did not want to admit it.

==============

If I can go OT here, I need some advice. Had an unhinged woman act nuts in response to one of my tweets. (It wasn't directed at her, it was about trending Ann Coulter story.)
This nutcase called me nasty swear words and finally I reported and blocked her.
Her rancor was really over the top for a total stranger. Ended up reporting at least 10 tweets. She even had the nerve to say that anyone who was pro Trump shouldn't be a nurse. Cray cray.
Since she seems to milk the fact that she is a military widow whose husband killed himself, my interest was piqued to look into her more.
Her insane tweets didn't seem to match up with a widow who was married to a military man.
After her insane tweets at me, I looked through her twitter media.
Even though she has a young daughter, it appears she is drinking and being rowdy at bars late at night a lot ... Ala Casey Anthony....
Very bad behavior.
I found a news article about her husband's apparent suicide.
Her description of it is bugging me.
She mentions WATER/BATHING herself just before talking about watching her husband
And I'm wondering now if it was suicide!
" xxxx said xxxx was arguing, as she took a bath and got ready for bed. Finally, he stood outside their bedroom.

"He brought his hand around and I saw him hold the gun," "I jumped off the bed and I ran at him. He didn't hesitate and he didn't stop. As I ran toward him, he put gun up to his head, locked his eyes into my eyes and pulled the trigger as I screamed no - and then he fell backwards away.

"All I could think was, 'He finally did it,' and 'OhmyGod, my daughter doesn't have a father,'" XXXX said."

Perhaps I am too influenced by water/bathing references = sexual homicides, but this bothers me. And wouldn't someone who shot themselves in the head fall to the side instead of backwards ??

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Plus, I just found another account by the military widow of her husband's "suicide". The account is slightly different from the first one I read.

"xxxx was very sick. He was verbally aggressive and verbally combative. I didn’t understand the full scope of his aggression. I sat on our bed and he walked in with his hand behind his back and continued yelling insults. He then brought his hand around and I saw him holding the gun….I knew exactly what he was going to do. I jumped off the bed and ran at him to tackle him. He put the gun up to himself, locked his eyes into mine, and pulled the trigger as I screamed “NO!”

I stopped mid-run and looked at his body, never once did I consider myself a widow in this horrific situation….my only thought was, “He finally did it” and “my daughter no longer has a father.”

Why does she say "body" ? Wouldn't you say him or her about a loved one. Not the impersonal word "body" ?

She also mentions that HIS parents still blame her years later !
" It’s also hard because his parents blame me for the suicide and think I’m at fault…but that seems to be a common theme with suicide widows. "

Really ? That's a common theme ? I think not. I got chills reading what his parents think about her !

Again, please stop me if I am reading too much into this. But it just seems off.

Off Topic: I know the Kardashian robbery case has been discussed on here before. I was watching Keeping up with Kardashians a couple nights ago and the mother, Kris, was taking to someone and telling them that Kim has had a Blackberry for 10 years and has never used the alarm on it and that the alarm has never gone off, but that right before the robbery, the alarm on her Blackberry went off. Kris was near tears and saying she feels that it was Kim's late father (he is dead) trying to warn her of the impending robbery. But, anyway, I very much doubt that. However, it seems a very interesting clue. In my opinion, it obviously mans someone close to her was tampering with her phone? Set the alarm? WAnted to make sure she was awake? So weird but I can't believe noone has thought about that clue a little more than just assuming it was the dead father communicating with her. Also, Kim seems to have PTSD, I don't believe she had anything to do with it. Kanye is like never on the show. Hardly ever.

In my opinion, whoever tampered with her phone and set the alarm probably did it just as a creepy thing to do. It makes me think of Kanye.
ESpecially since he is muscial and probably likes sounds.

He had give her that gigantic ring and before the robbery, I thought to myself, my God is he trying to get her robbed because the ring was just so enormous.

The tetanus shot and stitches would have been for a human victim of a dog bite, however it has been my experience that bites from dogs are not typically stitched as they could harbor dangerous bacteria. So use of steri strips is more common.

It is possible for dogs to take issue with humans of a certain gender, and so when I read this article it leads me to believe that either the dog was not fond of her boyfriend, or that he was not fond of the dog. Rescues, regardless of whether or not they have a history of abuse, can experience some serious separation anxiety. This can often lead to destructive behavior. Henceher comment about the furniture and floors being ruined. It takes quite a bit of patience to deal with, and it required the cooperation of everyone in the household. If jack didn't opt to participate, it isn't surprising that any attempted remedy to this situation would fail. Resentment could also build. "This isn't MY dog. I didn't ask for this, but my belongings are being destroyed." I don't believe that anyone was bitten, but there may have been some aggression from the dog if he did not have enough exercise, enrichment, or was place in fearful situations.
