Lie Detection and Statement Analysis Training Opportunities

Want to train to detect lies?

Move from guess work to formal training for 2018!

We offer in house training seminars for:

Deception Detection
Advanced Statement Analysis
Profiling
Sex Crimes Unit Advanced Linguistics (language of sexual assault victims, PTSD impact, trauma, etc) for SCU that have formal training in Statement Analysis.

for law enforcement and business.

With Steve Johnson of Veritas, we offer joint Statement Analysis and Handwriting Analysis seminars (including Advanced, profiling, anonymous author identification, etc).

We also offer a in-your-home Complete Statement Analysis Course

This course is a broadly based complete instruction in the principles and application of Statement Analysis.  With registration, the analyst/investigator is given 12 months of e support, in which his or her work is checked, proofed, corrected and strengthened.  This is indispensable in reaching and obtaining our expectation in lie detection:  100% Accuracy rate.

The completion of this course is to not only bring new skills and career traction, but with immediate results.  Our analysts are supported.  When a conclusion is reached, the work is checked for accuracy.  This protects the analyst's reputation, and the implication of error.  Whether it be in business or in law enforcement, the goal and expectation is singular:  100% accuracy in detecting deception.

Those who enroll in this course, are eligible for other trainings.  This currently includes:

1.  Monthly, live training.
2.  Advanced Statement Analysis and Profiling

1.  The live training is at Go To Meeting and you participate from your home or office.  You can listen quietly or engage via commenting and questions.  Present in these trainings are professionals from the United States, Canada, Western Europe, and so on.  This includes full time instructors, professional analysts, investigators, business executives, medical and social professionals,  therapists, journalists, writers, and others.  It is a supportive and "team" atmosphere of work.  Those who are new to training regularly report how helpful the top professionals are.

This separate live training has been approved for Continuing Educational Units (CEUs) for professional licenses in the United States through the University of Maine.

2.  Advanced Statement Analysis and Profiling is a large course and it not only uses advanced techniques, but focuses on profiling.  The profiling is such that when one analyses an Anonymous Threatening Letter, the author's background, experiences, personality traits and motive is detailed to the degree that the author is very likely to be identified.  The course also prepares the analyst for Employment Analysis and Threat Assessment.  This course is not offered to anyone who has not successfully completed our "Complete Statement Analysis" course.

Profiling (identifying the author's background, his experiences in life, his dominant personality traits and his priorities) is complex work.  It is dependent upon a strong foundation of Statement Analysis, including the understanding of its principles.

Enrollment in the Complete Statement Analysis will also allow the analyst/investigator to enroll in future courses, including Employment Analysis and separate speciality courses to be released, including "Child Protective Services", "Analytical Interviewing" and Ransom Note Analysis.

Currently, the Sex Crimes Unit Advanced Linguistics is only available in live seminars and this is for units that have a solid foundational training in detecting deception.  Please contact via email for more information for your Sex Crimes Unit.

Tuition to increase 1 January, 2018.

Also, enrollment in the live, ongoing monthly training (1) is on approval only.  Those who attend a singular training often sign up for a full year subscription.  We will continue to offer a discount, though enrollment may be limited.

When you submit your work, especially tests, a single question should be met with at least a full page answer!  You are writing to a professional, as if the recipient has no training and no understanding of the principles of Statement Analysis.  You must explain everything and buttress your answers with examples found on line, in the news, in your life, work, etc.

filming ABC's "20/20"
This trains you for future work, including submitting reports, writing articles, and being able to defend your finding to the point where the conclusion is evident to all.

If you have thought to further your skills in detecting lies as well as build traction for your career, consider enrolling prior to the New Year to avoid the increase.

Samples of the work are found at the website, Hyatt Analysis Services as well as at You Tube, including documentaries and televised news appearances.

Here are some Samples:

Missing Person Documentary:  Katelyn Markham

Kidnapping:  Madeleine McCann

FBI National Academy:  Murder of Hailey Dunn

Crime Watch Daily:  Baby Ayla  disappearance and cover up.

Law Enforcement eligible for tuition payment plans.

*We will honor tuition deposits up to 31 December, to hold price of course, upon terms agreement.

A PALESTINIAN graduate who says he was savagely beaten for being a Muslim after wishing someone a merry Christmas has spoken of his shock.

Ihsan Abualrob described how he was repeatedly kicked in his head and body by three men as he lay cowering on the ground, and said at one point he thought he was going to die.

Is the North-East racist?

The 27-year-old was treated in hospital after the street attack near the Happy Wanderer, in Framwellgate Moor, Durham, at 8.40pm on Christmas Eve.

Police confirmed two men have been arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated assault in connection with the attack.

Mr Abualrob said: “At one point I lost consciousness. I was helpless and thought this was the end of it. It was so scary and frightening.

“I felt not only in pain but humiliated. I come from Palestine, which is a very conflicted country, and I came here with the hope of having a peaceful life not having to live in fear.

“It’s my first Christmas ever outside of my country and that is my Christmas treat? They did this for nothing, but for me being a Muslim in this country.

"Christmas should be a time of love and hope, not violence."

Mr Abualrob is studying a masters in politics and international relations at Durham University, as part of the UK Government's Chevening Scholarship, aimed at developing global leaders.

He said: “I have bruises on my face, my knee is badly injured and above all, I have a bad concussion. I am dizzy and with a terrible headache and have blurred vision.

“My heart is broken and I am emotionally overwhelmed. I wished them a merry Christmas and they instead of doing the same attacked me.”

Mr Abualrob said he and a friend had gone to the pub to play pool, but found the table covered.

He said: “We don’t drink and were sitting there chatting when out of the blue a British guy approached us, pulled up a chair uninvited and asked where we were from.

“My friends said from Egypt and myself from Palestine. He said: “Egypt, Palestine. You Muslims. Are you suicide bombers?”

Mr Abualrob said when he and his friend left, three men were waiting outside the bar for them.

"They started insulting my religion," he said. "I said "Merry Christmas, enjoy your holiday" and didn’t say any more.

“We started crossing the street and they followed us. One of them threw an empty glass towards us. Then one of them lunged at me and punched me on my left check and I fell to the ground. Then three of them started kicking me in the head, shoulders and body. I grabbed my head in my arms trying to protect my face.

“I managed to get away and tried to get into the bar for protection. Because I was so dizzy I fell in front of the pub.”

Police who were called to the scene took Mr Abualrob to the University Hospital of North Durham.

A Durham Police spokesman said: “Police were called to an assault outside the Happy Wanderer pub in Durham at around 8.40pm on Christmas Eve.

“One man was taken to University Hospital North Durham with minor injuries.

“A 49-year-old man and a 23-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated assault with injury.”

The FB version of the story

Like many others, we were filled with excitement and expectation about our first Christmas abroad. Neither of us could have imagined that this simple dream would turn into our worst nightmare.
On Christmas Eve in a local pub at Durham, Durham, my Palestinian friend and I were harassed, insulted, and physically assaulted for by a group of British men we had never met before.
At around 8pm on Christmas Eve, we went to the local pub called ‘The Happy Wanderer’. As soon as we entered into the pub we became aware of being stared at by some men standing at the counter which made us very uneasy.
Soon after we sat down at a table, a man around 40s stepped out his group and made his way towards us. Without any invitation or introduction whatsoever, he took a seat next to us and blurted out: "WHERE ARE YOU FROM?" Not knowing what his intention was, we told him that we’re from Egypt and Palestine, to which he instantly replied: "EGYPT, PALESTINE. SO, YOU ARE ALL MUSLIMS… ARE YOU SUICIDE BOMBERS?"
Within the next half an hour, this strange man hurled at us all sorts of horrible insults without any provocation. For example, he asked us what you are doing here. We mentioned that we are postgraduate students at Durham University He replied you must be so rich then! At one point he stood in the middle of the bar and repeatedly shouted at us to ‘GET OUT OF THE PUB!’. While the man was insulting us for no reason at all nobody in the pub did or said anything to stop him. Not wanting to cause any disturbances, all I did was smiling at home and said: ‘Okay, thank you.’
We were so humiliated and helpless at the same time. It got to the point that we realized that we could not stay in the pub any longer for fear that something bad would happen, and still no one (including the people working at the bar) cared enough to interfere.
When the young girl bartender finally seemed to be approaching us, we felt a sense of hope surging over us, but she stopped at the next table and started collecting the empty glasses without looking at us. No words of comfort, no apology, nothing.
Only one young man from that group came to us and apologized. He told us that the man insulting us was ‘a good man, but jut had couple of drinks’ as if that could justify all the harassment and insults we had endured helplessly.
As we stepped out of the pub we immediately became apprehensive because the same man and his mates were standing outside. All we wanted was to get out of that place and away from these people. It was Christmas after all and we just wanted to have a good time. However as soon as we walked past that man he screamed at us: "Fuck Allah, Fuck Mohammed, and Fuck Islam".

cont.

My friend walking a few steps behind me responded to him by smiling and saying "Merry Christmas to you and I hope you enjoy your night." The next thing I knew another man from the group hurled his pint glass with all the force he had into my face. With a split second I tilted my head which miraculously saved me from getting struck.
After this violent act which took us by great surprise I told them that “I am calling the police now” and shouted at them to “STAY AWAY” again and again while they were chasing after us. My friend took out his phone and told them he was going to film them.
They followed us to the other side of the road and it was then we both sensed that we were in danger but with no way to escape. I shouted to my friend who was behind me to watch out and it was at that moment I saw the same young man who apologized to us in the pub on behalf of his friend attacking my friend. He sprang forward and punched my friend hard in the face. I saw my friend falling backwards onto the ground with a thump. I saw the men kicking him over and over all over his body.
It was dark but I could see people walking by. I screamed at them to ask for help. I shouted “please somebody call the police!” while running towards my friend who was lying on his back, badly wounded.
When he finally managed to get away from them, my friend was no longer able to walk and fell down and lost consciousness. I stood next to him, appalled and shaking with outrage. The only woman who stopped to help took my phone and called the police. These people who assaulted us still tried to spring at us. I screamed at them to back off. Eventually they went back to the bar and had fled before the police arrived.
It was like I was living my worst nightmare. And the hardest part is witnessing my friend being beaten to death in front of my eyes. We went to the pub to celebrate our first Christmas and left with injuries, pain, tears and rage. Why and how did it happen to us?!
It was a very long and sleepless night. After the outrageously violent attack, my friend and I spent the rest of the Christmas Eve moving back and forth between the police station and the hospital. My friend was left with terrible injuries and bruises all over his body and suffered a concussion (I’ve included here a picture of his leg and a picture of the pub).
This is not what we expected for our first Christmas in the UK. This is not what we expected for being international students in Durham. This is not what we expected at any point in our lives. Who deserves to get almost beaten to death for doing nothing, for just being who we are, or in this case, for wishing you a merry Christmas???
We will not be silenced. We will not give up our rights, and we will proceed with legal action and hold them accountable for what they have done in every possible way. Most importantly, what’s been done to us could have happened to any other international students here in Durham. That’s why we believe that awareness must be raised, our voices must be heard, and justice must be served.
We will not tolerate racist and religious hate crime.
Durham will stay a safe place and one of the most students' friendly cities in the UK.

Hi General P.Malaise

I agree/
As soon as i read the start with the blatant once upon a time theme i told myself the story didn't happen as claimed.
The have arrested two men thus far, i am awaiting to see what else is released especially since there is temporal lacuna.
Given they were students in a university town the locals would see lots of people of different skins colors and nationalities.
If the insults were so bad, why did they not leave?
There is lots of passivity, it is all the other people doing actions and speaking, what i wonder were they doing in that they "became aware" of being stared at?

Also given the fact it was Christmas eve, many pubs will have doormen checking who is coming in and also monitoring the behavior of those inside.
If there was aggression the doormen/bouncers would have dealt with it.

He shows us only a picture of his friends leg and the pub, why?
Surely given the claims he should be showing pictures of his friends terrible injuries to his body and face that caused him concussion, this would indicate the aggressive nature of the attack.
His friend was being "beaten to death" yet we see a picture of knees.

Nope i don't buy it.
Victims of beatings have their faces shown to show the extent of the injuries, the harm, the pain.

What i saw was a pair of knees that look the result of falling over and banging them, a full body face that showed no indications of assault either injuries od dishabille from being attacked and a wrist that had three marks on it that could be mistaken for oily or muddy fingerprints

A mother accused of killing her five-year-old daughter after the girl's body was found in the family's restaurant was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Friday after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges.

Mingming Chen was initially been charged with murder, but Stark County prosecutors lessened it to involuntary manslaughter as part of a plea deal.

The 30-year-old also pleaded guilty to evidence-tampering, corpse abuse, child endangerment and obstructing justice.

Her daughter, Ashley Zhao, was found dead and hidden in the family's restaurant, Ang's Asian Cuisine, in North Canton, Ohio, after she was reported missing in January.

The report sparked a state-wide manhunt and police combed the nearby area looking for her. Her body was found the next day, still inside the restaurant, near the kitchen's freezer.

Both parents were arrested after the grisly discovery.

Authorities claim Chen repeatedly hit the girl, causing fatal brain injury, and that her husband tried to revive her before helping hide the body.

County Prosecutor John Ferrero said evidence and interviews in the case indicate Chen didn't plan or intend to kill her daughter and that it was a tragedy 'committed in a fit of anger by a mother who had never bonded with her child.'

Defense attorney Richard Drucker disagreed with that characterization, saying that Chen is apologetic and takes responsibility for her actions.

He also said that if the case had gone to trial, they would have argued that Chen's husband, Liang Zhao, was violent toward both the girl and Chen and that he also bore responsibility in the death.

Zhao pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges including obstructing justice and corpse abuse, tampering with evidence and endangering children and agreed to testify against his wife. In exchange. murder charges against him were dropped.

His attorney previously said Zhao maintained his innocence in the child's death. He will serve 12 years in prison for the guilty plea.

It was a sad situation for Chen, who came to the US illegally from China as a teenager in search of a better life, started a family with an American citizen who also was Chinese and ended up in a violent household, Drucker said.

'I don't think she's a monster,' Drucker said. 'I think she was a woman that made very poor choices in her life at the time.'

Because she was in the US illegally, authorities say Chen is expected to be deported to China after serving her sentence.

Chen had applied for asylum in the United States in 2009 while claiming she was persecuted by the Chinese government as a follower of Falun Gong, a meditation practice outlawed by China's government, and federal judges have twice denied her petitions to stay in the US, WEWS-TV reported.

Court records referred to her as Mingming Chen, though lawyers in the case now spell her name as three words instead of two.

Tonya Harding says she 'knew something was up' before infamous 1994 baton attack
Russia

WATCH 'Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story' airs Thurs., Jan. 11, at 9p/8c on ABC
Former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding said she “knew something was up” about a month or two before the infamous 1994 baton attack was carried out on her Olympic teammate and longtime rival Nancy Kerrigan.

In a new clip released Tuesday from her interview with ABC News’ Amy Robach, Harding maintained that she never agreed to or knew about her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly’s plan to go after Kerrigan, but she admitted, “I did, however, overhear them talking about stuff, where, ‘Well, maybe we should take somebody out so we can make sure she gets on the team.' And I remember telling them, I go, ‘What the hell are you talking about? I can skate.’”

OT: Plastic surgery?

"Most of you know that I tripped and fell and broke my wrist in November. I'm still doing regular physical therapy for that, but all is coming along. There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about, since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.

In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood’s husband] Mike that he had put between 40-50 stitches in. Now, here we are 7 weeks later and, even though I've had the best people helping me, I'm still healing and not quite looking the same. I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way. I've still got a ways to go in the recovery process, but it's encouraging to see every day be a little better than the last.

Another reason I'm telling you this now is because I'm heading in the studio next week. I'm determined to make 2018 amazing and I want to share things with you along the way. And when I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different."

```
How would you agree or not agree to something of which you have no knowledge? The "I didn't agree..." not only weakens the denial, but destroys her credibility. She knew exactly what they planned to do to ensure her a spot on the team. She also makes it a point to imply that she told them she doesn't need any such help: "I can skate!" but she didn't say she told them to leave Kerrigan alone and let them settle it on the ice, and we cannot say it for her.
...but she admitted, “I did, however, overhear them talking about stuff, where, ‘Well, maybe we should take somebody out so we can make sure she gets on the team.'
````
I don't know how you could possibly infer anything except a plan to render a rival physically unable to compete, if not outright kill her. Does she think they meant take her out and stuff her so full of pizza and beer she'll be too bloated to skate at full ability during try-outs?

An autopsy report shows a three-year-old girl whose body was found in a drainage tunnel near her suburban Dallas home in October two weeks after she went missing died from 'homicidal violence.'

Steven Kurtz with the Dallas County medical examiner's office announced his findings on Wednesday saying Sherin Mathews was a victim of homicide.

Kurtz said a cause of death could not be determined due to extensive decomposition, according to WFAA.

The results come almost three months after Sherin's body was discovered in a culvert a half-a-mile from her adoptive parents' Richardson, Texas home.

The little girl, who was adopted in June 2016 from an orphanage in India, was reported missing around 8am on October 7 by her father Wesley Mathews.

Her body was discovered on October 24 following an extensive two-week search.

Wesley, 37, initially told police that his daughter had vanished around 3am after he made her stand outside by herself in an alley behind their home as punishment because she wouldn't finish drinking her milk.

Wesley claimed he left the child, who had developmental issues, alone for roughly 15 minutes and when he went to check on her she was gone. He suggested that Sherin had been taken by coyotes which were known to frequent the area.

Instead of immediately alerting police to his daughter's disappearance, Wesley allegedly went home and did laundry telling investigators that he hoped Sherin would return on her own.

During the investigation, police revealed that the Mathews' SUV had left the home around the time the child went missing.

After her body was discovered, Wesley changed his story claiming Sherin had choked on milk he was feeding her and died.

He told authorities that after her breathing 'slowed' and her pulse stopped, he took the body outside.

‘She was coughing and her breathing slowed. Eventually, Wesley Mathews no longer felt a pulse on the child and believed she had died,’ an arrest warrant states. ‘Wesley Mathews then admitted to removing the child’s body from the home.’

He was arrested and charged with felony injury to a child.

Sherin's adoptive mother, 35-year-old Sini Mathews, was also arrested and charged with child abandonment. It's believed that she was asleep at the time her daughter went missing.

She allegedly told detectives that after realizing the child was gone she and her husband sat at the kitchen and cried and prayed, WFAA reports.

Despite her acknowledgment that she was aware her daughter had disappeared, her attorney said the autopsy results do not indicate she was involved in the child's death.

‘There is nothing in the autopsy results that indicates Sini Mathews had anything to do with the death of Sherin Mathews,’Mitch Nolte told the outlet.

Both parents remain in jail. They are due back in court on January 26 for a CPS custody hearing for their four-year-old biological daughter. The child was removed from the home the day Sherin went missing and is now living with family members in the Houston area.

I´m commenting to Tania Cadogan's OT above:

... "A mother accused of killing her five-year-old daughter after the girl's body was found in the family's restaurant was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Friday after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges."

Found the case here at SA, in January 2017 as it then triggered me into a veritable verbal outburst.
BTW, it's interesting to see one's writings months later. Where did I miss the mark the most? Any hits, if found out, bring a feeling of reassurance. A rookie cand find a seed in the sand, too.
This is what jumped out of the case as I read Tanya's entry (after checking out my comment last January):

..."Defense attorney Richard Drucker disagreed with that characterization, saying that Chen (the convicted mother) is apologetic and takes responsibility for her actions. (It was a manslaughter, not a murder, in the verdict).

"He also said that if the case had gone to trial, they would have argued that Chen's husband, Liang Zhao, was violent toward both the girl and Chen and that he also bore responsibility in the death."

1. He was not convicted, he didn't perpetrate himself to anything reprehensible, if I get this correctly.

2. Whatever evidence there may have been to substantiate his suggested violence towards wife and daughter has not been relevant enough to make him co-responsible and co-offender.

Is the case closed?

Meryl Streep and Tom
Hanks on the #MeToo
Moment and ‘The Post’

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/03/movies/meryl-streep-tom-hanks-the-post-metoo.html

[...]

NYT: I’ve got to shift conversation to the news these days, sexual harassment. One thing that struck me after the Harvey Weinstein accusations broke was people were saying, “What is Meryl going to say?” They were waiting for you.

STREEP I know. I found out about this on a Friday and went home deep into my own life. And then somebody told me that on “Morning Joe” they were screaming that I haven’t responded yet. I don’t have a Twitter thing or – handle, whatever. And I don’t have Facebook. I really had to think. Because it really underlined my own sense of cluelessness, and also how evil, deeply evil, and duplicitous, a person he was, yet such a champion of really great work.

You make movies. You think you know everything about everybody. So much gossip. You don’t know anything. People are so inscrutable on a certain level. And it’s a shock. Some of my favorite people have been brought down by this, and he’s not one of them.

What do you make of the fact, though, that people are waiting for you to speak?

STREEP I don’t want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump. I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now.

What have you experienced over the years and how have you dealt with it?

STREEP I have experienced things, mostly when I was young and pretty. Nobody comes on to me [now]. So I wouldn’t have had that more recently. But back in the day, when everybody was doing cocaine, there was a lot of [expletive] behavior that was inexcusable. But now that people are older, and more sober, there has to be forgiveness, and that’s the way I feel about it.

Do you want to go into specifics?

STREEP No, no, I don’t. I mean, I was really beaten up, but I don’t want to ruin somebody’s mature life. I just don’t. I do think if the world is going to go on, we have to find out a way to work together, and know that it’s better for men if they respect us deeply as equals.

[....]

NYT: Did either of you feel — “complicit” is a tough word, but that you might have put on blinders?

STREEP Well, honestly for me in terms of Harvey, I really didn’t know. I did think he was having girlfriends. But when I heard rumors about actresses, I thought that that was a way of denigrating the actress and her ability to get the job. That really raised my hackles. I didn’t know that he was in any way abusing people. He never asked me to a hotel room. I don’t know how his life was conducted without people intimately knowing about it.
