Andrew Gillum Denial

Andrew Gillum was found in a hotel room with a gay escort who had overdosed on methamphetamines.

Gillum was unable to provide information due to a state of intoxication.

The next morning he released the following statement:

“I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends. While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement. I’m thankful to the incredible Miami Beach EMS team for their efforts. I will spend the next few weeks with my family and appreciate privacy during this time."”   Andrew Gillum

Let's take a look at the statement, breaking it down:

“I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration

1. He began with the pronoun "I" showing a strong psychological presence for what is to follow.

2. Location is important to him and will be to the denial because he targets a specific time, making it easy to deny.

Note where he began —-“I was in Miami last night” means he is thinking of the specific singular event that took place on a specific singular night (last night).

This sets the context for him to issue a Reliable Denial:

I did not use methamphetamines”

a. Pronoun “I”
b. Past tense verb “did not” or “didn’t”
c. Allegation: Methamphetamines —the drug the gay escort overdosed on.

This would be 90% reliable.

He offered the time of the event so denying it is seamless in language.

3. The reason why:

He needs to tell us why he was in Miami last night. This is not "necessary information" which means it is very important to him.

He could have said, "I was in Miami last night when first responders..."

but he has a need to explain why he was in Miami last night:

"...for a wedding celebration"

It speaks to an alternate or competing reason to be there. He anticipated being asked “why” and wanted to give his answer before he could be asked.  This attempts to stop the question.

We thus explore another reason he was at the hotel in Miami that he is diverting our attention from.  Did you notice the small addition to this?  He did not say, "I was in Miami last night for a wedding..." but a "wedding celebration"---

What might this small additional detail suggest?

A "celebration" puts more emphasis on the "wedding"--- moving the mind, subtly away from the location of "first responders" via emphasis.

This is not analyzed in a vacuum but in the context of his "unnecessary" need to explain why he was in Miami. More words means more effort, which gives us more information.

He does not want us knowing the reason he was at the hotel room. He does not want his audience questioning him as to "why?", so he preempts the question. This is the point of flagging "the reason why" (blue) in an open statement.

No one asked, "So, why were you in Miami last night?" nor might they.

They would likely ask, "What were you doing in this hotel room here?" naturally.

He seeks to avoid being asked this question.  It is how subjects can teach us how to ask questions

Another question we might ask is,

"Who were you with?"

He anticipates that:

when first responders were called to assist one of my friends.

He was not with "my friend" but uses "one of my friends" (plural, and separating this one from unknown others).

This is to psychologically distance himself from this particular one, of whom overdosed--- we therefore expect this one friend to be the target of his concern (closeness) rather than distance from him.

The overdose victim is just one of an unknown number of friends, to him, in this statement.

While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear

He will admit to having "too much to drink" but then has a need to persuade that what he will next say will need clarity. This is an open statement.  He has not been arrested nor accused.

This is to show the absence of the psychological wall of truth that offers protection or emotional security to the truthful.

How is his friend doing? Is he okay?  Yet, he is only "one" of his friends and we do not see any concern for him.

The Denial:

I did not use methamphetamines”

a. Pronoun “I”
b. Past tense verb “did not” or “didn’t”
c. Allegation: Methamphetamines —the drug the gay escort overdosed on.  Are they really "friends"?

that I have never used methamphetamines.

Since the subject targeted the specific event, when he said “I have never used methamphetamines” he went to “have never” which spans many years in his life.

Just as the escort is one of a plurality of friends, so it is that this night, which he set the context for immediately, was just one of many years ("have never") in his life.

Has he been accused of using methamphetamines his entire life?

He set the context with a strong statement of where he was (location) at a most specific point of time ("last night")--- this is not something that should be addressed.

His strong psychological presence of "I" with both location and time mean a specific allegation is being answered, even if the allegation comes from him fearing an intimation from the news story, itself.

This is an example of an "Unreliable Denial", violation component two where the conclusion is:

Deception Indicated.

What is he deceptive about?

It is likely drug abuse in general (even if he did not have meth that night—did he have cocaine? Opioids? Is he thinking of other drugs he has used?) and his "friend", and why he was at the hotel room with him.

What about his friend's outcome?

What about his wife?

He issues his apology:

I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement.

Nothing to his wife, nor concern for his "friend"---

Yet he tells us, via the pronoun "our" that his concern is his political viability.

The priority is self.

The empathy for the overdose victim is missing, and there is no concern for his wife and family.

This is insight into his personality.

I’m thankful to the incredible Miami Beach EMS team for their efforts.

He was not arrested.

I will spend the next few weeks with my family and appreciate privacy during this time."

the word "with" between "I" and "family" indicates distance.

privacy -- he does not want to talk about what happened.

Here is his entire statement, which for some reason you didn't use:

Peter,

Could you please clarify this part of your analysis, as I'm not sure I understand what the "CNN" part means:

It is likely drug abuse and his "friend", and CNN why he was at the hotel room with him.

Thanks so much.

Mr. Hyatt, could you please focus on the "OUR MOVEMENT" part as I can't keep up with the editing and fail to understand what ALL I've missed out on.

In the world of conspiracy for movements, many a dead body revealed a deeper motive.

Great analysis Peter, thankyou.

I noticed he was passive in regards to who called 911.

"when first responders were called to assist one of my friends."

It reads like he was with other people, "one of my friends". Many would intepret that to mean he was with others if the full context hadnt been available. He is trying to distance himself from being alone with the other person.

https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/andrew-gillum-in-alleged-meth-incident-in-miami-beach-police-say-11594094

According to the documents, police responded to a cardiac-arrest distress call just before 1 a.m. at the Mondrian South Beach. When two officers from the Miami Beach Police Department arrived at the luxe hotel on West Avenue just north of 11th Street, they noted that Miami Beach Fire-Rescue was on scene treating a man for a possible drug overdose, but that the man, identified as Travis Dyson, was in stable condition.

The officers stated that the third man involved in the incident, Aldo Mejias, had lent Dyson his credit-card information to rent a hotel room yesterday afternoon and that the two were supposed to meet later that day. Mejias told the officers that he arrived at the hotel room around 11 p.m. and that Dyson opened the door and then immediately collapsed on a bed and began vomiting. Mejias said he began giving Dyson CPR and called 911.

Mejias told police Gillum was inside the hotel room "under the influence of an unknown substance." Mejias said that while he was performing CPR on Dyson, Gillum was vomiting in a bathroom. Officers said that they tried to speak with Gillum but that he was "unable to communicate due to his inebriated state."

Miami Beach Fire-Rescue said it responded to the hotel a second time for a "welfare check" on Gillum, at which time he was in a stable condition.

The officers said they found three small baggies of "suspected crystal meth" on "both the bed and floor of the hotel room." Officers said Gillum left the hotel room "without incident" that night and went home.

Mejias did not immediately respond to emails, calls, and texts from New Times.

New Times reached Dyson by phone just after noon. Asked about the wedding celebration referenced by Gillum, Dyson seemed confused.

"I personally was not celebrating a wedding. I don't know if [Gillum] was in town for a wedding. He did not mention that," Dyson said.

Dyson said he has known Gillum since around last spring.

"We've been friends for a while," Dyson said. He then went silent on the phone and did not answer subsequent calls from New Times.

Gillum to enter rehab:

Excerpts from the article containing Gillum's latest statement:

“After conversation with my family and deep reflection, I have made the decision to seek help, guidance and enter a rehabilitation facility at this time,” Gillum, a Democrat, said in a statement. “I now need to firmly focus on myself and my family. I will be stepping down from all public facing roles for the foreseeable future.

“Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse,” Gillum said in his Sunday night statement, issued by a public-relations firm. “I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated. I also know that alcoholism is often a symptom of deeper struggles. I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person.”

This was not Gillum’s first brush with scandal.

Throughout his campaign for governor, he was dogged by a public-corruption investigation at Tallahassee City Hall. Ethics investigations exposed cozy relationships with lobbyists and jaunts to Costa Rica, Qatar, and New York, where he took in a Broadway showing of “Hamilton” thanks to tickets purchased by undercover FBI agents. The Florida Commission on Ethics fined Gillum $5,000.

Gillum has said little since Friday morning, when police say they allowed him to leave the Mondrian South Beach and return to the Epic Hotel in downtown Miami, which he listed as his address on a police report.

Neither have the two men in the room with him, Dyson and Aldo Mejias, a 56-year-old unlicensed doctor who called paramedics.

But on Facebook on Sunday, Gillum’s wife, R. Jai Gillum, thanked the couple’s friends for their prayers and took a shot at critics reveling in her husband’s downfall.

“In times of great uncertainty, one thing is clear,” she wrote. “This too, shall pass.”

Adrian,

good observation.

The passivity is justified (appropriate) if he was so intoxicated that he could not discern who made the 911 call.

IF, however, by the time he made the statement, he knew who had, it means he did not want to yield the name. (distancing)

He was a political person with connections that could help police, thus the lack of arrests and the total black out of illegal substances.

Florida police once ruined a man's life over glazing off a Krispy Kreme donut they thought was meth.He was arrested, charged, jailed, lost thousands of dollars fighting the charge and months later, after testing came back......yep.......the food of cops dreams....part of a donut.

Such Irony!

“Mejias told the officers that he arrived at the hotel room around 11 p.m. and that Dyson opened the door and then immediately collapsed on a bed and began vomiting.”

It would be interesting to see a statement from Mejias. Although the above information was from the police it still reveals the importance of timing. The timing is very convenient, the guy answers the door and “then [immediately] collapsed”. We won’t find out, but I wonder if he had been called by either Gillum or Dyson as they needed assistance, but they didn’t want to call emergency services.

It sounds like Dyson vomited because of meth; Guiium vomited because of alcohol.

Both at around the same time of appx. 11 p.m.

Dyson opened the door? Most lock upon closing at hotels I've been at. He must have had one of those cards to swipe, which would have been difficult in his medical emergency.

He denies using Meth which is a specific drug and was related to the other man's overdose.
The question that should have been asked is "Have you taken any non-prescribed for you drugs?"
This disallows the excuse of taking prescription drugs as it limits him to only drugs prescribed to him.
It also covers any other drug which was not prescribed such as coke, heroin etc.
I wonder if the alcohol masked other drug induced behavior?
I personally would have done a drugs test on him as well as that could have linked him to the other males drug consumption and also the overdose.
Who paid for the drugs?
When will he admit to being gay/bisexual or bi-curious?
Will he blame a sex addiction and the drugs and the alcohol?

Off topic

A team of surveyors was working in a wooded area in Florida Thursday when they stumbled on the body of a missing 9-year-old girl, authorities said.

Diana Alvarez’s disappearance in Lee County in 2016 touched off a massive search and led to the arrest of a family friend for possessing lewd pictures of her and then for her murder even though her body had not been found.

“This does not bring Diana back but hopefully it brings closure to the family,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno told a news conference Saturday.

Her body was found on Thursday in Yeehaw Junction in Osceola County, WINK-TV reported.

Deputies had conducted searches in Yeehaw Junction in the summer of 2016 and again in 2017, but found nothing, the station reported.

Jorge Guerrero-Torres was arrested a month after the disappearance and charged with possessing child pornography when investigators found lewd images of Diana on his cellphone, according to reports.

That prosecution ended with his conviction and a sentence of 40 years behind bars.

In 2018 Guerro-Torres was charged with Diana’s murder, WINK reported.

“The monster that committed this horrendous crime is behind bars and will now be brought to justice for the murder of Diana Alvarez,” Marceno said.

Notice also what exactly it is he apologizes to the people of Florida for:
"distraction"
Distraction from what?
What his priority is during the statement is derailment from his goals alone.
His family or personal life are not of essence. It is a quick chapter that passed showing he is quick to have encounters and get them out of his life as well.
The term also has meaning in terms of goals at the moment of the statement made:
His statement is a distraction from what took place.
He wishes to take our minds off of the event to get straight back to his campaign.
He is used to minimizing personal accusations and leading people's minds towards whatever benefits him.
"I will spend the next few weeks with my family"
"My family and I" or "My family" or "Our Family" is not used showing no unity in this matter. The spending time is HIS choice and not theirs. What is his home life like? He indicates that he makes the choices. It is his way and they are to oblige. "the next few weeks" indicates that he does not spend much time with them. It isn't a specific time frame generally to mention a few weeks, but in the context it is. He doesn't look forward to it necessarily and it doesn't come natural to him. He has to turn this into a type of promise as if he may have broken promises a lot with them which motivates him to add information not necessarily required in order to convince them and us that he is a family man at heart which also serves as a distraction towards accusations natural to follow based on the nature of his relationship to THE one of his friends.

@Mike
The 'distraction' is from OUR MOVEMENT!

His failure to win an elected seat in which the movement could push forward caused him to spiral into out of control alcoholism all of a sudden......at appx. the same time a gay escort ODed.

If it hadn't been for his out of control alcoholism which caused him to vomit, he may have been on the stretcher next to the man that opened the DOOR.

I searched the blog and couldn’t find any reference to this case so I thought I would post it.

“Lori Isenberg, 66, is accused of creating the situation where her husband, Larry Isenberg, 68, became submerged in Lake Coeur d’Alene and died in March 2018, according to court documents.”

It is a very interesting story and if you look halfway down the page I linked you will see an email she wrote to friends and family entitled “Here is what happened.” She gives a lengthy account of what happened that day leading up to her husband allegedly falling overboard of their boat.

“The Spokane County Medical Examiner, however, concluded at the time the 68-year-old showed no “visible” signs of stroke or evidence of drowning”

“The Kootenai County Coroner also found that Larry Isenberg had lethal levels of diphenhydramine—an antihistamine found in Benadryl—in his system when he died.”

I will post her statement.

Here is what happened. Part 1

Larry had been sick with the flu for a few days and I had not been sleeping well, so the night before the accident, when he was feeling better, he said he wanted to take me on a date to get us both out of the house. He decided a boat ride to watch the sunrise and boat to the Resort for breakfast would be perfect.

So we got up at about 4:30 and headed to the southern part of the lake to Sun Up Bay because it is famous for the sunrise view there. It is very cold, of course, so he had put the canvas cover on the boat and had the little space heater all set up. We love doing that because it is so cozy and quiet. Larry knew I was really tired, so after we enjoyed a magnificent sunrise, he got me all settled in the passenger seat and told me to try and sleep, while he just cruised around — and I did. Then he woke me up by standing up sort of fast and awkward, he put all of his weight on the key (instead of the dashboard) and it bent the key and pulled the ignition switch out. It took us quite awhile to get the key back in and get the motor started, but we did. During that time, he opened up the front tarp on the boat and got the electric motor set up in case we needed it.

A few minutes later he said the motor didn’t sound right and he jumped up and went out the front opening of the boat where the electric motor is, instead of to the back of the boat where the big motor is. He was kneeling down looking at the electric motor and I asked him why he was looking at the electric motor. Then he stood up, looked at me with a confused look on his face and started to fall over ^ (missed word board/overboard). I jumped up and tried to get to him, but I tripped on the heater and banged my head and couldn’t reach him in time. It was so horrible!! I tried to get to the back of the boat but I couldn’t get the stupid zippers on the back of the tarp open fast enough. (OK, I had to stop typing to have a meltdown, but I am back now.)

I started driving fast and frantically looking for him (dumb I now know, but I think I was in shock) speeding from one floating log to another in all directions without ever looking up from the small area of the canvas I could see out of. I could not call for help and had no sense of direction or time because I had left my cell phone in the truck and Larry had his in his pocket. Also, because I had been dozing, I had no idea where we were on that huge lake. Additionally, I didn’t have my distance glasses because I leave them in my car for driving so even if I looked up, I would not have seen much detail on the shore from the middle of the lake.

frommindtomatter said...

Here is what happened. Part 2

After what I now know was about an hour of frantic driving in all directions, the motor quit and I could not get it to start. I kept honking the horn, but no other boats were on the lake and most, if not all of the houses in the southern part of the lake are vacant in the winter. I finally calmed down and looked around the inside of the boat and saw blood splattered all over, and realized I had banged up my head and had a bad bloody nose the whole time I was running all around the boat. I also realized I had gotten mad at the space heater because I kept tripping on it, so I threw it in the water. I finally started the electric motor, but after about a half hour I realized the wind was pushing me back south in the lake because it was stronger than the electric motor. I knew I had to be at least six miles from the Resort — to the north — and I honestly thought the electric motor battery would run out before I could get anywhere. I had no heat and I couldn’t reach the electric motor peddle from inside the canvas, so I was lying on the front of the boat in the cold and wind. I thought I would die out there and I really didn’t care. A while later (no concept of time) I happened to look back at the console from the front of the boat and I saw Larry’s phone between the window and the dash.I called 911 and about 45 minutes later they got a boat to me. I was OK, just some hypothermia and bruises on my face. I was only in the hospital for one day.

I went out with the search team Sunday. It was horribly painful to go through it all again, but they said I did a great job and reduced the search area by about 80%. I want to share that I actually did something right and I know Larry would be proud of me. When we got out on the lake it was very cold and windy; so much that we could not see out because of the ice forming on the windows. So I went outside of the covered area with the leaders of the team. They only wanted me to be out there for a few minutes, but I refused to go in until we finished; it took about an hour. When I went back inside, my coat was covered with ice from the mist of the waves hitting me. Both of the team leaders gave me a big hug when we parted and told me I was an amazing woman to do that. That meant a lot to me because I wanted so badly to help and it felt so good to do something right. They said it could still take two weeks or more, because of weather and the large area they have to cover. They determined that I could have covered over two square miles during my frantic driving.

I cannot describe the pain I feel. It is like half of me is gone. I am doing a little better every day. I lost 11 pounds because I just can’t eat and the only way I can sleep is with sleeping pills or else I have nightmares.

So, now I am trying to focus on the future. Larry and I agreed years ago that if anything happened to either of us, we would sell our paradise because it would never be the same without both of us here, and there is no way I could take care of it. I am not in a hurry, but I also do not want to be here alone very much.

This portion jumps out at me as esp worrying:

I also realized I had gotten mad at the space heater because I kept tripping on it, so I threw it in the water.

She gets angry and throws things like a heater into the water from a boat? Distancing language, lost time, giving an excuse for the heater being in the water. Hmmm.

OT: Larry Isenberg

Shy Covian, I agree. Between the lines of that paragraph she seems to paint a picture of a fight ("blood splattered all over", "had banged up my head", "I had gotten mad") and something (someone?) being thrown/pushed overboard ("I threw it in the water", "was pushing (...) in the lake", "was stronger") (a lot of body postures throughout the statement).

Also: he is overboard and she is his only hope of survival and she starts "driving fast and frantically" "from one floating log to another". So she was driving AWAY from the spot where her husband went overboard! It makes no sense whatsoever, even for someone "in shock" (unless she wanted to drive the boat over her "floating"? husband). The addition “fast and frantically” sounds like storytelling to me (no need to tell that you’re frantic when your husband is overboard). And: (although HE was in a life threatening situation) she was just "lying" on the boat thinking "I would die out there" and "I really didn't care". I read that he died of a massive overdose of Benadryl (and, thus, not of drowning). That makes me wonder: was HE (not she) the one lying and dying on the boat and is THAT what she didn’t care about?

Her husband is missing in the cold lake, she fails to find him and get him out and she emphasizes that "I was OK, just some hypothermia and bruises on my face" and "I did a great job" and "I want to share that I actually did something right"?

In the first two paragraphs she really hammers at the sunrise being the reason for going to the lake and at Larry being the one who decided they would go there (God forbid we think she was the instigator and there being another reason for them to go there at 4:30 AM). I fail to see why a very early, cold and windy lake trip would be so "perfect" for a 66-year-old recovering from the flu and his sleep deprived wife. Also: why go through all the trouble to take your wife to a lake at 4:30 in the morning just to tell her to go sleep after supposedly watching the sunrise? It’s not logical. And why try so hard to paint a picture of an idyllic marriage? Why is that necessary in the context of a tragic boat accident?

Furthermore: it's an enigma how he landed in the lake. She doesn't say he lost his balance or something. Just that he "looked at me with a confused look on his face and he started to fall over". He just somehow "started to fall over"? Why did she add "started to"? Does it hint at a deliberate action (if you start something, you can stop it)? The falling over seems to have been a process (with a start and an end).

It’s also interesting where she starts her statement. Not at the lake but a few days prior (Larry being sick for a few days). So in her mind what happened in these days is important to Larry landing in the water.

I also find this sentence peculiar:
“Larry and I agreed years ago that if anything happened to either of us, we would sell our paradise because it would never be the same without both of us here, and there is no way I could take care of it. I am not in a hurry, but I also do not want to be here alone very much.”
Why did she feel the need to add this? Why so much explanation that she is going to sell the property?

The wrong thread to discuss Coronovirus, unless there is a specific post. I understand it is a very tough time.

For OT Larry I: There is very little to no logic in Lori's statement. There is only panic and bad decisions, her only logical language is on how good of a job she did despite the odds. The whole boat trip makes no sense with her story telling.

frommindtomatter said...

OT - Lori Isenberg.

Yeah, the space heater is important to her.

“I also realized I had gotten mad at the space heater [because] I [kept] tripping on it, [so] I threw it in the water.”

This is highly sensitive to her as she needs to include it in her statement. It is included as she in her own mind feels she must explain it. We see her use “because” and “so” to justify her actions, both are words which signal the highest sensitivity in a statement. If you look through her whole account you will see the word “because” is used 12 times which tells us there are a lot of things she feels she must justify. Not a good sign.

This space heater must have played some role in what happened that day, and she felt it needed to be disposed of. I would imagine on a boat that gas would be the fuel used for the heater. Note her earlier statement –

“It [is] very cold, [of course], [so] he had put the canvas cover on the boat and had the little space heater all set up.”

She uses present tense to describe the cold (“is very cold”) as opposed to past tense. We expect past tense used in relation to a past event. She uses “so” (highest sensitivity), to justify why a canvas cover was put on the boat. A covered boat would avoid the chance of anybody witnessing any foul play on board. Also an unlit gas heater could be very dangerous to someone who was asleep (perhaps worth considering). Larry was found to have six times the recommended dose of Benadryl in his system which would cause him to be extremely drowsy at the very least.

What’s most interesting is that she wrote this in an email to family and friends, so she wasn’t under pressure like she would have been if making the statement in a police station. I imagine she would have written it out and edited many times to get it just as she wanted it. Even with that luxury she still couldn’t hide her own guilt. She still had a need to justify many things to the listener/recipients of her letter.

“Then he woke me up by standing up sort of fast and awkward”

Even though she was asleep she can tell us how he stood up in detail. That’s a big problem for me.

Adrian.

Shy Covian said...

Agreed, her whole statement is sensitive, hero building (for her), and overall sounds like an awful boat trip for both. The word "justify" is perfect in this instance IMO.

Shy Covian said...

OT: I worry as well how she was so alert during the time of duress, including when Larry (lost his balance??) how does she recall what happened to him so specifically when she was asleep.

Adrian, I thought the same thing at first: how did she know exactly how he stood up and put his weight on the key if she was asleep. But then I thought: if it really happened and it led to problems with the key (as she describes) she probably asked him "what are you doing" and he may have explained it. In that case I still find it weird that she describes it as if she personally witnessed it though (and that she even describes it at all, what does it have to do with Larry going overboard). Maybe what really happened is: the overdose began working and Larry started to feel something was terribly wrong and stood up "sort of fast and awkward" and fell on the dashboard. Thanks for posting the statement. Interesting suggestions about the canvas cover and gas heater, also.

Sensitivity around the key, the heater, and Larry. As Adrian said, a lot of "because" used.

Peter tweeted the following on coronavirus a while ago:

“State of war” is an interesting choice of words by the Chinese government.

18 million quarantined over deadly coronavirus

Of course President Trump also uses the word "war" now in this context. It's a natural word to use because they want to root the virus out. On the other hand: I am surprised that Trump and Prime Minister Trudeau of all people - the leaders of China's largest trading partners (and these trade relations are very rocky) - where at such a high risk of being infected at a time when the official number of infected persons (worldwide) was considerably lower than it is now (and Trudeau is still in quarantine and has not been tested). In the meantime Prince Albert from Monaco has also tested positive and two US Congress members are infected. Is it all a coincidence? Maybe the real number of infected persons is simply much, much higher than the official number.

Shy Covian said...

I believe the virus was created as a weapon. All of the "war" words may be coincidental or the plain and simple truth.

Do other countries have the same kind of severely over paid, corrupt, fraudulent & corrupt news reporters as is in US?

Shy Covian said...

News reporting has changed. In the older days there were channels, official channels of information. Today there are no official channels, everyone is on social media and the channels are corrupted as a result, no trusted sources at this point.

Property tax refund is good idea. Library is closed and city office and school is closed too. And letting prisoners out. What's wrong here?

Shy Covian said...

The library is virtual, the school is virtual now as well (or getting there). Watching prisoners requires a warm standing body on patrol and more, and it is incredibly dangerous physically and mentally. That is the problem we are dealing with, what we can do remotely for now vs. going in person and dealing with all it entails.

On a side note:
This article from Boston Globe about some doctors traveling to Miami for LGBT fest. They became sick with COVID-19.
One of them went to the hospital and he said they told him to isolate. But....There is a statement from him that makes me believe he wasn't self isolating.

I know it's not a quote, but someone said this to the person who write the article:

"Back in Seattle, on the evening of Sunday, March 15, while Vavrek was eating dinner, a blocked number rang his cellphone. He let the call go to voice mail. It was his doctor. When Vavrek called her back, his doctor confirmed he was, indeed, positive for COVID-19."

Isn't dinner a social activity, like watching tv that you don't do together. Also, a phone was involved in the same sentence which makes me believe that the sick person, Vavrek was not noticing that he was speaking about things that involve social activity and using phones in sentences includes the person in the "crime", so he knew that he was doing what he wasn't supposed to be doing, which is self isolating?

Colorado authorities believe human remains found in Florida are that of an 11-year-old boy who was reported missing in January.

The presumed remains of Gannon Stauch were found in Pace, a city in Florida's panhandle, the El County Sheriff's Office in Colorado said Friday. The boy's stepmother, Letecia Stauch, is charged in his death. The sheriff's office is asking for information from anyone who may have seen Stauch in Pace or Pensacola sometime between Feb. 3 and Feb. 5.

Stauch reported Gannon missing on Jan. 27, telling authorities he failed to return to their Colorado Springs home after visiting a friend. After weeks of searching, investigators presumed Gannon dead and arrested Stauch in Myrtle Beach, S.C., earlier this month.

“We met with the family earlier today, and obviously they’re distraught with this information,” said Michael Allen, a deputy district attorney in El Paso County, about the discovery of the remains. “They were still holding out hope that Gannon would come home alive. ... It’s tragic.”

The presumption of Gannon's death was based on his age, the time he had been gone and his dependence on medication.

Shortly after he disappeared, Colorado Springs station KKTV aired an interview with Stauch in which she accused detectives who questioned her about Gannon’s disappearance of violating her constitutional rights.

“During the interview, I asked several times, 'Can I stop the interview, can I get an attorney, can I stop the interview, can I get an attorney,'” Stauch said with her back facing the camera. “I was denied. I was told I couldn’t get nothing to drink, I couldn’t go to the bathroom.”

She is charged with murder, child abuse resulting in death, tampering with a body and tampering with physical evidence, among other criminal charges. She was extradited to Colorado and is being represented by a public defender.

A sworn statement explaining the reason for her arrest has been sealed by a judge.

Did you think she had buried him in the backyard?

Internet sleuths have her time line down to the minute.
Local Le tracked her apple watch to the areas she drove the day he was sick
Petco has camera video of her at two different times.
The security company has movement in two different areas of the house after she returned home. The youngest girl was still at school, and the oldest didn't arrive until about two hours later.
She had to use two different vehicles over the course of the hours leading up to his disappearace.
There were two different suspicious calls from the burglar alarm monitoring company denoting suspicious activity.

Maybe Mr. Hyatt will post his analysis of the fake phone call made from someone to "Tecia" in which discussed her innermost feelings with a complete stranger. Surely someone has emailed him a copy of the transcript by now.

Most the "creators" on YOutube are so into themselves they actually think "T" is watching their crappy opinion shows.

Shy Covian said...

She went through a lot of work if she did this alone, a lot of evidence points to her in FL. I second the request for analysis on Tecia's conversation with a stranger.

I think Larry was sleeping, not her. And the murder weapon was the heater.

She said, "Larry knew I was really tired", yet he told her to "TRY and sleep".

If she was really tired, she wouldn't need to "try".

"Then he stood up, looked at me with a confused look on his face...but I tripped on the heater and banged my head..."

I wonder if he was CONFUSED because he couldn't understand why she was coming at him with the HEATER, just before she BANGED his HEAD with it.

"...saw BLOOD SPLATTERED ALL OVER, and realized I had banged up my head and had a bad bloody nose..."

That sounds more like a violent attack, not a head-bang AND a bloody nose.

Blood on the heater would warrant throwing it in the lake under the guise of it making her mad.

I know were supposed to assume the person is telling the truth, but I never believed she was asleep. And now knowing he had so much Benedryl in his system, I think he was the one sleeping from being drugged.

Too much explanation about the motors, which shows sensitivity. It's possible she woke him claiming there was a problem with the nearest motor, knowing he would be drowsy and stumbling. She was likely setting him up to fall off the boat or to be pushed off, if necessary.

And Benedryl doesn't make products for the flu, if that's how she ends up justifying why it was in his system.

Boston Globe article says LGBT winter fest in Miami. Returning partygoers felt sick on 3/13. Holy comoley that’s around the same time Andrew Gillum was in Miami Beach getting naked and drugged up, and probably why Miami Dade County’s Chinese Virus COVID-19 confirmed cases spiked. Now we know why Gillum was in “Miami” although he was really in Miami Beac.

Someone who trusts social media to the extent she did by making statements about what was written on Social Media suggests she didn't work alone, imo. Oh, the condundrum of the "We" movement.

Her views about her daughter being an innocent by merely being in the Air Force is insight into her fairy tale world, too. Especially in light of all her derogatory statements about the bio mom who also is in the military.

Of course, there's always some DIY journalist with all the answers who will abandon their own kids to chase down dead ones. That special someone will shed light on the subject that everyone in the "We" movement will revere.

If his family was in town prior to shipping out for training in another state, he wanted a divorce, he knew the bio mom was unfit to keep the children, why does no one ask why he didn't make other arrangements for HIS children?

Maybe, (I'll answer my own question here) he enjoys the fairy tale thinkers and use them to his advantage whenever he can. He's in the military, too, so why should he have to be responsible either?

As far as work in ridding herself of the body...inertia, preplanning, mind mapping, driving hundreds of miles out of the way,etc.......that's for the fairy tale thinkers to decide and the prosecutor to bring their decisions to fruition.

There was a flurry of crazy crap before he shipped out. There was a flurry of crazy crap during his illness by the step mom. Fairy tale thinks operate in flurries it would seem.

@BsafeBanon agreed, too much sensitivity and need to explain around the heater, I also wonder if it was the actual murder weapon.

@C5H11ONO agreed as well, I was connecting dots between a surge of cases and the behavior documented here and on the news.

And lastly OT for Gannon, either Tecia had help or was in a pure state of madness, driving the body cross country and hiding it so far away all by herself. Either is very possible to me at this point.

OT - Lori Isenberg

When someone has the need to include body posture/movements in their statement it reveals there is tension connected to that moment in their account.

Tecia Stauch said recently –

“but then a video shows him leaving with me [walking].”

It was not enough for her say “it shows him leaving with me” which would have been sufficient, she adds the extra information that he was “walking”. The neighbour’s video shows Gannon was unsteady and sluggish when walking to the truck. This would have been something on Tecias mind, there would have been tension connected to him walking or his ability to walk at that moment. She includes the unnecessary movement in her statement which shows her sensitivity to it.

Lori Isenberg:

“he said the motor [didn’t] sound right and he [jumped] up and went out”

“He was [kneeling] down looking at the electric motor”

“I [jumped] up and tried to get to him”

We see she includes body posture in the above three quotes from her statement. If we look at the first quote and balance it against what we know now, that being Larry was a 66 year old man who had six times the recommended dose of Benadryl in his system, does him “jumping” up sound expected? A person “jumps” up when startled or in an emergency where action is needed immediately. A motor not sounding right wouldn’t need emergency action, but would require investigation. She could have said that Larry “went to look at the motor”, but she has a need to include that he “jumped up” which shows it is something sensitive to her. It is like the Tecia Stauch example I gave above.

In her second quote she includes that he was “kneeling”

“He was [kneeling] down looking at the electric motor and I asked him why he was looking at the electric motor. [Then] he stood up, looked at me with a confused look on his face and started to fall over ^”

Again she includes the body position. He wasn’t just looking at the motor, but “kneeling down” looking. Kneeling adds tension to the event. He was on his knees so to speak which can signal submission or vulnerability. We next see there is missing time, “[Then] he stood up”, with “then” being used to punctuate the start of the next event. A person who says “we went to a restaurant then we drove home” uses “then” to punctuate the next part of their account. We know they may have been at the restaurant for some time, and things would have occurred there, but as they do not include them in their account that time must be skipped over to the next point they wish to tell us about. This is where “then” is inserted into the language to bridge the two points in time. In regards to Larry I ask what happened between him kneeling down looking at the motor and the next thing Lori wishes to tell us-

“[Then] he stood up, looked at me with a confused look on his face and started to fall over ^”

Lori bridges the gap between him kneeling to him standing up and then starting to fall over. Did something happen in that missing time that led him to stand up start to fall over? Note she does not say he fell overboard only that he started to fall “over”. If she doesn’t say it we can’t say it for her. She doesn’t say Larry fell overboard.

We know liars will be as truthful as possible, but will omit incriminating information from their stories where needed. Lori doesn’t say how Larry got into the lake; she leaves us to fill in the blanks for her.

Adrian.

She apparently wasn't aware of the neighbor's video at the time of calling Gannon a runaway.

It is true the video shows him walking. That would align with someone sick being sluggish and not too upbeat. She said he was sick. She said he injured his foot in the garage. He was able to walk. He was able to hike. They went on a hike after the foot injury. It must not have been severe.Often people sweep their debris into the garage. Wonder if there were broken glass particles. I recall that being the mainstay of foot injuries as a child. Some are left behind even after a sweeping.

Considering his body was found more than a thousand miles away, I'd speculate the neighbor wished he hadn't used the phrase "He looked like he was drugged." That wouldn't be my first thought of a child moving sluggishly. I'd think he/she were ill.

In addition, I'd wonder why he'd think that drugs were involved. Were there druggie looking people hanging around that house or the neighborhood? Did the Stauch family give him cause for concern prior to Gannon going missing?

I am curious why she found it so important to get dog coats when a child is pooping his pants? Why is a bike as a present for a date two weeks away so important that it must be looked at that very day? Did she not have a back up babysitter?

There are some, who shall remain nameless as well as blameless, that are still trying to milk out the Gannon situation for their own ....fame?

A semen donor with a phone is mentioned by a kritical thinker's guest who has the inside trac on the going ons inside the Stauch household. She advertisers "Friend" of Al's as if she is in the know, and then the man claims he helped him move out of the house and wasn't really a friend, per se.

However, via his wife, he is involved. One might assume through the church which would explain why he really doesn't know the father of Gannon. You'd think if they'd been involved with the church prior to the child going missing, the man would definetely know the father.

He SAT in the conference room with AL and Landon as the FBI and sheriffs briefed them on Internet sleuths. That's when saymyname spermdonor-with-a-phone name came up. (It's easy to see he's the son of a cop and a Texan by his redundant idiocy)

As in any "WE" setting, the antics of the woman who hosted the pseudo fiend, also claimed inside info based on someone who'd seen the boy in a park nearby claiming that person was a neighbor. If she knows anything about seeking fame, she's in the hall of shamefame with spermdonorwithaphone as her own twins go unacknowledged while she digs for trash on people to make herself look less inferior.

Thanks for the update Shy!
That was well said and should serve as a role model for other families of missing children, or murder victims, or major catastrophes of any kind.

Using others for personal agendas seems to be the norm that some are sick and tired of being sick and tired of.

One woman rambled on for 4 1/2 hours discussing that case and NG general sick-in-the-head-make your household sick type stuff.

This family is lucky in one sense as far as the coronavirus is concerned: People won't be making trouble at the funeral and they can grieve in peace if they just stay off the Internet.

I overlooked any comment about corona virus. My bad!

Yeah! It's a dangerous thing.
Wash hands and face. Don't touch face. Clean door knobs, handles, light switches, close lid on toliet prior to flushing, wear disposable gloves if you can get them.Stock up on cleaning supplies, food, drinks (stuff with electrolytes), toliet paper (its so rare I can't even spell it anymore)flu meds for symptons, and make a mask if you can't find any.

Main thing: stay away from people if at all possible...or at least 6 ft.

Whiskey or other alcohol that is more than 60% will suffice for sanitizing if you can't find anything else. Don't get drunk though. We look forward to your comments.

Statement analysis could be applied to many video/bloggers hawking dead children for fame.

One more recent man that comes to mind is spermdonor-with-a-phone.
The good thing is: He sells T-shirts and church selling based on a death of a child. He doesn't pay for tattoos but trades for them much like prostitution. He prays of the mother of the deceased child.
The bad thing: He states he's gonna take a moment to dispel rumors....his video is almost 2 hours long. He considers Jesus a prophet in the same vein as Willie Nelson and Bob Marley ("Johnny Was" may be the basis for his blood in the streets analogy for why he does and acts the way he does)

He believes in the law of giving, therefore what he does and preaches is a good thing. He prays to a JESUS that is similar to Bob Marley or a pot smoking Willie Nelson.

He is the facilitator between family and media.
He is ..............there's too much more, but believe me, he's IT!

The new christianity is based on causes that massage NG ego and staff. Even Pilage and Plunder gossip for God.

I'd question anyone who thinks his...or hers..... prayers are going anywhere but on a Youtube freakshow for his own gratification.

@Anon at 9:34 AM: The social media warriors looking for fame, I suppose it is a common side effect of the crippling panic of having to stay indoors at all costs and trying to do more from home and caring about something, anything to move things forward in some way. This drowns the channels for investigators and actually causes more problems in the end as you say.

If the press release indicates they believe the body was in Florida somewhere between Feb.3-5, where was the body between Jan. 27- Feb.3/5? It's nearly a 23 hour drive.

So, either she had help or she made a 23 hr trip sometime between Jan.27th and Feb. 3rd-5th. I would think if she was gone for a day (or 2) after she reported Ganon missing, somebody close to her would know that (or else she lied about where she was or someone lied for her). I would also expect her vehicle to have a lot of extra mileage or she rented or borrowed a vehicle (someone would know that). I wonder why that bridge, that county.
