The email was meant to bait me. None of them can stand Donald Trump and I cannot stand, IMO, the inept, Justin Trudeau. (They love jr.)

In kind, I replied with a transcript of Alec Baldwin’s abusive voice mail he left for his, at the time, 12 year-old daughter, and the link to it so they could hear it for themselves. I remarked, paraphrasing, that I guessed the moral high ground didn't apply to entertainers.

I know I sound like I’m defending DT when I say, I find it apropos that they have a documented, abusive entertainer with a drinking, drug, and anger management problem portraying President Trump as “unhinged” with a drinking and/or or coke problem, when DT allegedly doesn’t even drink alcohol or do drugs (though I concede he is a pig). Yet the liberals “lap” up Alec Baldwin.

I was also incredibly offended when a distant (American) cousin sent me a viral video of children (hispanics) calling out Donald Trump in the most vulgar and vile manner to ever come out of young kids' mouthes, and she captioned it, “go get em kids!” ???

IMO, Alec Baldwin should send Donald Trump a thank you note for making him relevant again. Now AB's wife doesn't have to shill “splayed” yoga poses (side glance MSM's lewd reporting of Melania Trump's "spread",) in exchange for tabloid reporting or an honourable mention on the society pages, for a while anyway.

Both candidates were “deplorable” and walking around dressed like a vagina projecting sentiments like, “you can’t grab this pu@@y”, is again, deplorable!

In my books, no one gets a pass!

What will be important is comparing Canada’s bottom line with America’s bottom line at the end of our respective leaders’ terms. I have no doubt the USA will be enjoying a much healthier economy than we Canadians. Unless, that is, someone throws a “false flag”.

jmo
Nichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09150573665283919209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-82004274893465890982017-01-29T17:17:19.296-05:002017-01-29T17:17:19.296-05:00Peter said,

That was the word I was looking f...thank you Peter

That was the word I was looking for - discernment

I was at dinner with a friend and she was leaving there to go visit someone in jail. I was a little surprised and asked about it, she said it was Joe Q. Now Joe Q was a teacher (40) at a local high school that had been caught having sex with one of his students (15 years) in his car in the parking lot of the school. It had happened more than once. Joe Q had also been running for city council which is how she met him and came to be his friend. I was astonished that she would support an educator that used his position of power to have sex with a girl, and that he was a flat out a pedophile in my book and that I myself would never do that. That person doesn't deserve a damn thing from me. Both her and my husband at the time lamented the fact that I was so "judgmental" and that I would just dump a friend like that. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I wasn't "judging" him, I was taking the information known to me and discerning that this was not a person that would ever be in my life in any way, shape or form because of the type of person he was. They made me feel like I was acting morally superior.

I have made a few posts on my FB in the last few days about the immigration ban. I asked what people thought was the reason that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt were NOT part of the ban considering that 17 of the 19 911 terrorists came from Saudi and Egypt. I mean, where is the logic? What IS the reason? Is it just me that noticed that?

A couple of Dems answered that trump had business dealings in those countries, or oil, but surprisingly every known Republican to me did not answer. Why is that?

I would LOVE to be able to have a conversation that didn't denigrate into name calling and screaming about abortion/PP/trump/immigration/terrorism/the fact that the ACLU just agreed with Dick Cheney leading me to believe we are now in bizarro world lol... pick one! But so far, no one seems to be willing or capable. What is saddening to me the most is that a lot of people posting the worst things on FB are people I go to church with who I now know are "moral narcissists" thanks to you!!

Also thanks to you I am much more aware and will BE much more aware of my own language when talking about inflammatory subjects.

lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00493739512074677263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-80745226990398188652017-01-28T15:33:18.504-05:002017-01-28T15:33:18.504-05:00Peter wrote

It is reassuring, also, to hear you say that the "the Orwellian references should be dismissed as silly, tinfoil hat nonsense", because although I find these references aggravating, I do ignore them, because the only thing I can think to say in response is "Huh? Gimme a break. Are you serious? Have you even read the book?"
But I instinctively knew that it is, to them I am sure, insignificant whether they have actually read the book. You addressed this phenomenon very well where you pointed out how "feelings" trump "education"...so if someone "feels" 1984 is a description of Trump, that's all that matters....reading the book is not even required for them to have that feeling.
I agree with you that this does have extreme consequences.
Very tragic what is happening in Germany. This also ties into liberal "tolerance" where they believe immoral practices accepted in other cultures should be "tolerated".
I love what you wrote "Truth is the new hate-speech". Those who call it a mental disorder are incorrect, and are simply fumbling with language to describe it.
Liberals attempt to confuse and disorient, turning reality on its head, projecting what they have been doing for decades--subjugating language itself in a precisely Orwellian fashion--onto the right.
Without their Orwellian abuse of language, their entire movement would collapse, having been revealed for the deeply immoral nightmare it actually is.
In fact, no, it is not a mental illnesses in a pure sense, and I think when people refer to it as such, it is due to the complexity involved in unraveling liberal distortions of language...it is easier to just call it a mental disorder.
Liberals who say that those who disagree with them have a mental disorder....that is a deliberate abuse of language....saying those who dont sacrifice their God-given intelligence to liberal brainwashing and Orwellian abuse of language must be "crazy" for not falling in line with their sick agenda.
To sum it up, it is another Orwellian abuse of language ie. "If you think, then you are bad and crazy".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-54830977954081484222017-01-28T02:52:42.870-05:002017-01-28T02:52:42.870-05:00Excellent blog Peter.

The remarks and inappropriateness of his actions have not changed, and using soft language like "inappropriate" doesn't change the fact that he has, by his own admission, sexually assaulted women. When he told Howard Stern that it was ok to refer to his daughter as a piece of ass, that is deplorable. That is not normal or expected that a father would EVER say that about his daughter, even in an "entertainment" setting or that she has a good body and if she wasn't his daughter, he'd date her. No. Just. NO. It's never going to be okay and IMO, he is a predator. The list is to long to write all the disgusting and derogatory statements he has made about women in general and God help the woman that actually crosses him because he is an attack dog then. He has to rip them apart to make himself feel superior? Isn't HE a moral narcissist?

After reading this blog, I had to ask myself if I am one because with some people, I think I have changed my opinion of who I thought they were and if I want to be "friends" with them. Not because of differing political views but because they think all of the above is okay. It's not okay for me. I don't want to associate with pedophiles either, or thiefs, drug dealers, arsonists, known criminals etc.

Does that make me a moral narcissist?

lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00493739512074677263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-51134708860456046632017-01-27T23:38:46.506-05:002017-01-27T23:38:46.506-05:00Peter, Great post!

Also, this individual cannot tolerate any different opinions about certain issues.

I also do find it interesting that on facebook, everyone seems to do charity work or to participate in running races for charities when how can nearly everyone actually be a jogger/runner?!. While I agree that for most positions an employer only wants the "best and brightest", there are certain positions where racial/sex/religion bias is rampant---face to face sales. The employer knows the customer and knows the customer's likely biases and therefore avoids hiring someone that the employer thinks the customer may not like. Often this results in illegal discrimination, that while suspected would be nearly impossible to prove. Britt said Blackburn threatened to indict her with murder if she said so in court. When Stoeckley got on the stand, she said she couldn't remember where she was that night.

Stoeckley also told several others that she was present for the murders, but the district court said her heavy drug use makes her alleged confessions unreliable. Britt and Stoeckley have both since died.

U.S. Attorney John Bruce described the defense evidence as insignificant and told the judges Thursday that the case against MacDonald remains strong.

Significant pieces of Britt's story were proven wrong, making him an unreliable witness, Bruce told the judges. The hair — which MacDonnell's attorneys say must have come from the intruders — could have been anyone's, Bruce said.

"This was a busy apartment with a young family with scores of people around them," Bruce said. "There was dog hair on the bed. Was that evidence of intruders? The MacDonalds didn't own a dog."

Appellate Judge Diana Gribbon Motz also questioned how the hair evidence helps MacDonald's case, noting that it did not match Stoeckley's DNA either.

"It's not as though you have this hair tied to another person of interest," Motz told MacDonald attorney Joseph Zeszotarksi Jr.

A ruling from the 4th Circuit could take months or more.

MacDonald, who is serving three consecutive life terms in Cumberland, Maryland, refused to apply for parole for years after becoming eligible in 1991, arguing that doing so would essentially amount to admitting guilt. He finally applied in 2005 — in part out of a desire to live with the woman he married in 2002 — but was denied early release. He is not eligible for parole again until 2020.

"It would be a dishonor to their memory to compromise the truth and 'admit' to something I didn't do — no matter how long it takes," MacDonald said in a 2000 letter to his now-wife, Kathryn MacDonald, which she provided to The Associated Press.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/01/27/fatal-vision-doctor-claims-innocence-in-familys-slaying.htmlTania Cadoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06511272355142175684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7164794708270892518.post-24244503929520527042017-01-27T10:07:22.327-05:002017-01-27T10:07:22.327-05:00off topic
RICHMOND, Va. – A former Army surgeon ...off topic

RICHMOND, Va. – A former Army surgeon who has always insisted he was wrongly convicted of slaughtering his pregnant wife and their two young daughters nearly 50 years ago won't give up, even if his latest appeal fails to clear his name, his lawyer says.

Jeffrey MacDonald is "going to keep fighting and will continue to maintain his innocence until the end of his days," Attorney Hart Miles said after a hearing at the 4th U.S. District Court of Appeals on Thursday.

After decades of failed appeals, MacDonald now hopes the same court that briefly reversed his convictions in 1980 will side with him again. His attorneys say evidence uncovered since then proves he wasn't the killer.

The 73-year-old has maintained that a group of drug-fueled hippies slaughtered 26-year-old Colette McDonald and their daughters Kimberley, 5, and Kristen, 2, on Feb. 17, 1970, and that his own wounds resulted from his failed attempt to protect his family.

MacDonald told the police he called to their home inside Fort Bragg in North Carolina that he was awakened by the screams of his wife and daughters, then was attacked by three men and a woman with long blond hair and a floppy hat who carried a lighted candle and chanted "acid is groovy; kill the pigs."

Prosecutors still contend that the evidence shows MacDonald used a knife and an ice pick to kill them before stabbing himself with a scalpel. They say he donned surgical gloves and used his wife's blood to write the word "PIG" over their bed to imitate that year's Charles Manson murders.

It became known as the "Fatal Vision" case, the title of a true-crime book MacDonald had invited author Joe McGinniss to write to demonstrate his innocence. Instead, McGinniss became convinced of his guilt. McGinniss eventually agreed to pay MacDonald $325,000 to settle breach of trust claims.

MacDonald is now challenging a judge's refusal in 2014 to grant him a new trial based on new evidence, including three hairs found at the scene that don't match the family's DNA, and a statement from Jimmy Britt, a deputy U.S. marshal who accused the prosecution of intimidating a key witness.

Tania Cadoganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06511272355142175684noreply@blogger.com
