Authorities probing death of 6-year-old Arkansas girl question sex offenders in hunt for killer
Arkansas authorities are questioning registered sex offenders in their investigation into the death of a 6-year-old girl, whose body was found Tuesday in a vacant home not far from where she lived with her mother.
Bentonville Police Captain Justin Thompson told FoxNews.com that no suspects or persons of interests have been named in the killing of Jersey Bridgeman. But he said police detectives and FBI agents are interviewing several known sex offenders in the area as they hunt for the child's killer.
"Obviously anyone close to this girl is someone we're going to look at now," Thompson said Friday.
Jersey was living with her biological mother, DesaRae Bridgeman, at her home in Bentonville, about 215 miles northwest of Little Rock. The girl had previously lived with her father, David Bridgeman, and stepmother, Jana Bridgeman, who are both serving prison terms for chaining Jersey to a dresser last year.
DesaRae Bridgeman told police she last saw her daughter when she put her to bed around midnight on Tuesday. She reported the girl missing around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, when she was not found in her room, authorities said.
Within 10 minutes, police found the child's body inside an abandoned home about 200 feet away, according to Thompson. The abandoned house belongs to a New York couple who are not considered suspects, he said.
Thompson said an autopsy has been completed, but he declined to release the cause of death, saying only that the case is being investigated as a homicide.
"The investigation in its entirety so far has led us to believe this is a homicide," he said.
Thompson declined to say who, besides Jersey's mother, was living in the home at the time of her disappearance. He said there were no signs of forced entry.
Investigators are appealing to the public for any information related to the girl's death.
"If they have any details -- big or small -- they really should call us," Thompson told FoxNews.com.
Anyone with any information on the crime is being urged to call the Bentonville Police Department at 479-271-3170

ReplyDeletePeter, did you see on Facebook where BJD stated she is going to trademark 'hope for Haleigh'? She said she and Clint were going to... Or already had.
Hmmmmm.... Is this something common among liars? Cindy Anthony comes to mind.
( sorry, can't link from my ipad)
Her comments are posted on the Haleigh Dunn updates and discussion page ^^^
ReplyDeleteDon't sound like they're going to have to "hunt" for too long in this case. Horrible, just horrible, another innocent child victim...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Get her mother talking! I want to hear her statements!
ReplyDeleteThis child deserved a good life- too sad.
ReplyDeleteBiological mom's Facebook page says she is "in a relationship" with Brandon Thomas "since September 25, 2012." https://www.facebook.com/desarae.bridgeman
ReplyDeleteI'm not liking the finger and thumb sized bruises I see on the baby's forearm in this picture. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=239956646035413&set=a.172320759465669.36323.100000632395401&type=3&theater
I'm also not liking the photo captions like "Rotten little girl just farted on me" next to this photo https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=363049357059474&set=a.172320759465669.36323.100000632395401&type=3&theater
They remind me of Caylee Anthony's the "mystery" bruises and Casey referring to Caylee as "Snotface.
New relationship man Brandon Thomas hasn't been on Facebook very long, just a few weeks. On November 12, 2012, he posts: "Love my new family so much! Love you desi, leah, and jersey!!" https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004631203602 I notice that Jersey is mentioned last and the pronoun "I" is missing.
This article about the murder states: "Her mother, DesaRae Bridgeman, said she last saw her daughter around midnight, before reporting her missing around 6:30am. Authorities found her body approximately 10 minutes later.
...
"Meanwhile, it is still unclear where Jersey's biological mother, DesaRae, was at the time of the missing persons call." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2237504/Police-question-sex-offenders-death-tragic-year-old-girl-murdered-YARDS-home--year-father-jailed-keeping-chained-dresser.html
WTF? Why wouldn't the mother call IMMEDIATELY upon discovering that her daughter was "missing" i.e. while the mother was still at home? My prognostication: She left her children home alone, or maybe locked in the car, while she went out with her new boyfriend.
Link to the article I mentioned:

I checked out the facebook pages of the Mother and Mother's boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteSays they've been in a relationship since Sept 25 2012.
Looks like another single parent with a child moving in a bf in no time. (don't know if he was someone she knew b4 and just started dating.)
It doesn't outright say they live together but on Nov 15 bf says he cleaned part of the house, "hopefully Desi will give me some in the morning after work.' Sounds to me like they are.
Also on Nov 14 it must have been Jersey's birthday. Mothers bf post, " Happy birthday to my 6 year old girl Jersey! Love you sweetie!!
On Nov 19th, the day before Jersey went missing, bf post,
" So beens a got 41 hours in three days the BIG BOSSS gave me the next three days off after tonight.
Jersey went missing around midnight Nov 20.
Doesn't prove anything but I thought this was interesting.
Mother has at least one other child. Pics of new baby girl posted Jan 2010.
I just found another article and it looks like the neighbourhood poor Jersey was living in was sex offender central 3 addresses on the sex registry are direct neighbours to her home.

The mother knows exactly what happened to this precious child. I pray for swift justice!
ReplyDeleteI don't care how 'decent' the live-in appears to be; these mothers prove they don't give a crap (pardon me for using that word) for the emotional and/or physical stability of their kids when they chose to shack up with a man they are not married too, bringing no security or safety net into the lives and home of their children; giving HIM authority over her children and leaving them no escape from however he AND she choses to treat them.
ReplyDeleteTo hell with the kid, HER loyalty becomes to the man she is bedding; yet she has no security with this man and offers no security to her children. Common sense would tell any woman that if the man loves her he would marry her, provide for her and her children, and NOT bring shame and insecurity upon her innocent children. These children live in constant turmoil.
Aside from THAT; how the he!! did this mother wind up with little Jersey when she had already lost her to the b'stard father and evil step-mother's abuse? Where the he!! was SHE during all this, other than off somewhere else making another unwed/illegitimate baby, who ALSO would have no future stability?
REB
Well Anon @ 7:00 AM, I wouldn't go so far as to say this mother knows exactly what happened to little Jersey since I have not read any of her interviews. Have you, have any of us? Has it even been revealed yet where the mother was or what she was doing that night?
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I have read is that Jersey was being watched by a relative and lover boy live-in bed partner of less than a month was at work from 10:00 PM 'til 7:00 AM; that Jersey went to bed around midnight and her mother found her missing at 6:30 AM.
Do you know something the rest of us don't, or did I fall behind?
Sorry Anon @ 7:00; I forgot to initial my post at 7:17. REB
ReplyDeleteSaw your post, LouLou, where BJD and Clint are planning to trademark "Hope for Hailey". Now ain't that just a crock O shyt? There is just NO end of this womans' bold deceit and conniving.
ReplyDeleteThey both belong in prison as far as I'm concerned; BJD for participating in and covering up her daughter's violent murder, ALSO for child porn and likely its' making and distribution, for soliciting and the sale of illegal drugs, child neglect and abuse, God knows what else;
and Clint for child neglect (he DID allow Hailey to go hungry at school and exposed her to drugs), which is ALSO the same as child abuse; for his part in HELPING BJD AND Shawn Adkins to lie and hide her/their crimes, for being an illegal drug purchaser/seller and dope addict, AND for fraduently taking from and squatting on HUD's housing benefits.
I've actually toyed with and wondered about pushing HUD to file charges against Clint AND Naomi. All I'd have to do is turn him/her in, file a complaint and execute one little affidavit. POS.
REB
clint was busy walking up and down soliciting donations in the first few days so he could avoid getting a job. billie is going to have a hard time getting money as she is not yet 40 but looks 60. each time the family claimed clint was working they was lying
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 7.06
ReplyDeleteMarriage alone does not provide emotional/physical/financial security for ANYONE, happy healthy relationships do. Child abuse can and does occur in all walks of life regardless of family dynamics.

Anon 7-06 Alias Reb.
ReplyDeleteI take umbridge with your generalisation that single parents who introduce a partner into their family be it male or female do not provide a safe and loving enviroment just because their out of wedlock.
There are many loving an caring families whom i know and who are related to me providing a much better family enviroment than lots of married couples in the neighborhood i live in.
You cannot tar every single parent family with that sticky brush your flinging around. IMO..
Sorry John, if I stepped on any toes. I figured I would. Ah... but show me their security and stability? You can't. There isn't any.
ReplyDeleteAs to defending marriage, or not; marriage and step-fathers/step-mothers is not what we were discussing. Anybody with any common sense at all should know to be careful about who they marry and bring in around their kids; that was not the subject matter.
Maybe you should all read what GOD has to say about these matters,'eh?
I stand by my post.
Above post by REB. BTW John, that is not an alias. That is what and who I am.
ReplyDeleteRight you are Anon @ 7:58. Not only was Clint working at not working; he was also soliciting donations for himself so he could buy MORE dope, get a free trailer to live in, then a trailer to pull his free trailer, then tires for both, then a free place to park himself.
ReplyDeleteThen he abuses his mother's hospitality and allows Naimo's kid to run in and out of her house, destroying and eating up everything in site and connecting his utilities to HERS, all without help to pay for her extra expenses. Abandons trailer.
Next he lands a free house and needed a house full of new furniture, even with instructions where to get it and that it not be terribly used, then groceries, then more money.
Then he needed materials and supplies to upgrade some other place some idiot let him and Naomi, with baby and her other kid(s?) in tow pile up in, even going to a lumber company to pick out what he wanted and set it up there for donors to supply FOR him.
My my, how resourceful he could be for HIMSELF, but couldn't give Hailey lunch money or even his couch to sleep on, in an apt that he happened to be fraudently freeloading off HUD. Damned fool worked hard at not working, and got it all! I would just LOVE to see his behind blistered real good.
Sorry, I ignored again. Above post at 11:01 by REB.

Who are you to say who does or does not have security and stability in a relationship,do you have an all seeing eye. There is no gaurantee stability/security in marriage either.
I am in a long term live in relationship were i am not the paternal father, and how dare you speak of my family relationship like that.

Reb... you brought marriage or the lack there of into the subject. You contradict yourself in your posts. Isnt the purpose of SA to analyse what has been said... not to impose ones personal opinion on others?
I am an "unwed mother" how disgusting of you to use such derogatory terms as illegitimate? My child is as important as anyone else, be i married or not. Shame?? What shame? that i didnt stay with someone who turned out to be a poor excuse for a father? I have been with my partner for 2 years, we were couple for 6 months before i introduced him to my daughter, she is happy and healthy. Our bills are paid and our home is our own. if that doesnt show emotional/financial stability, what does???
Siobhan
I'm sorry. I apologize. You're right, I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteBut I do wonder, if you all are so safe and secure in your non-commital relationships, why don't you get married, make it permanent and give your kids some real stability and yourselves some financial security?
Or, is the old addage still true; "why buy the cow when the milk is free?" Hasn't it ever occured to you that if a man has no financial investment in you, he has no emotional investment in you?
Not trying to be offensive, I really do wonder.

ReplyDeleteReb..
ReplyDeleteJust because someone is not married does not mean they are not in a committed relationship.
I fail to see how a piece of paper provides safety or security??
Re.. the old adage... "why buy the cow when the milk is free?" I do hope you are not referring to me? You say you are not trying to be offensive, then you pile it on. (anything in the negative)
This is a statement analysis site not a personal soapbox. Lets agree to disagree.
The "little people" don't pick WHO or WHAT they love, God Bless them, they just LOVE....
ReplyDeleteIt's the "big people" that should get it right!
So, yes, both opinions above are right....:-)
I'm in a marriage that is not fabulous for my (our)child- my husband is a grouchy, controlling ass. My child would be much better off without that influence in his life. (Now that he is older, he would tell you this himself.)
ReplyDeleteI am perfectly capable of supporting myself and my child, and would be a great single parent- I own my home, retirement account, great job, etc. REB, married parents may not be the utopia you imagine. Just saying, there are as many different stories as people. Won't sign this for privacy... Anon1
I can't believe this tragedy. Hope the investigators are on it and I'm not the only one to notice that the EZ Mart where the boyfriend probably works is only .2 miles (that's a 3-minute walk) from the house where he and the mom live with the girl. It's not out of the realm of possibility for someone to take a long "smoke break" and be back at work in no time... Anyway, this is all so upsetting. Pray that justice is served. (Note: I simply googles the family's address and then the address of the closest EZ Mart, since that's where the mom and boyfriend are employed, according to their FB pages).
ReplyDeleteI hope the FBI is involved.
ReplyDeleteThis poor baby lived a hell that most of us can only imagine. My daughter temporarily lived with the Bridgmans and is the one who found her chained to the dresser and turned them in for it. When she was interviewed by the police she told them to please dont place her in her mothers care because of the abuse andd neglect she went through with her mother. But they didnt listen...
ReplyDeleteAnon 2:42,
ReplyDeleteI hope that you don't let that information go, and press for answers and changes. Maybe another child can get the protection that Jersey did not.
