She is planning her defence, telling us that SAdkins has threatened her, she hates him, he is poss capable of hurting Hailey.......she is worried!
There's a bus coming and she is going to throw him under it and try to get away with as little as possible.
If it isn't Hailey, she will not be far away from that area.
Wow! I am surprised by the poll results! I voted that I thought it was Hailey. I think more that it's her than not is how I came to my decision. I read a news piece about how the location of the remains had been under water until the severe drought dried up Lake JB Thomas in 2011. This area is out of cell phone service range, and is in Scurry County (where Shawn told police to look to find Hailey). The area has been declared a crime scene! Seriously? How often do they do that when they come across old remains? I mean crime scene with FBI etc. It appears to me that the authorities think this might be Hailey.

If this is Hailey I bet SA never imagined all that water evaporating away to expose his crime. I wonder if his bravado and swagger evaporated along with the water? Did he think Hailey's bones would fall apart and be scattered and buried deep in the mud, never to be found?
S + K mum, I also think the finding of these remains has Billie setting the stage to throw Shawn under the bus; she wasn't saying these things about Shawn when the other body was found not long ago.

The lake level has nothing to do with the discovery of the remains. The remains were well away from the lake.

I went to the Texas Water Development Board and read through some documents. Of relevance here is that Texas is in a severe drought which many of us were aware of. Lake JB Thomas was at 3% full capacity in December 2010 when Hailey disappeared. December 2012 it was 0.8 % full and 489 acres surface water, today it was measured again and it is 0.5% capacity and 411 surface acres. I couldn't find the acreage for Dec.2010, but if the difference between 0.5 and 0.8 % (0.3%) is 79 acres of lost water surface then the amount of lost water surface (or growing exposed for SA and BJD) on 2.5% would be A LOT! It would be about 658 which seems to enough.

There are county roads in the location near where the remains were located. County roads are not under water. This area is/was not underwater.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting conflicting news reports about the location of the remains. This is important and I hope they clarify it soon. The article I read was from the Permian Basin titled "Officials End Search For Skeletal Remains In Scurry County" , sorry I am unable to link from my phone but google should take you there :) The writer says the bones were found in the "dry lake bed" "that had been under water until severe drought conditions nearly drained the lake in 2011." I imagine native veg action would take over the area as the water recedes, hence the mesquite and cacti. I do think this body (Hailey or not) was dumped in water by a killer who is now at risk because of the drought. I'll go read around some more and see if I can find more articles either way.

ReplyDeleteA couple of comments. First, officials have not revealed the exact location they found the remains. It is near the lake but they didn't go into details. They did say they found remains in the cactus, thorns, mesquite.
ReplyDeleteAs to John Young, last year at this time, he did all the speaking for his client. He said that Billie was in "seclusion" awaiting the results last year. And, John Young did start trying to separate Billie from Shawn in the media saying they were no longer in a relationship but then Shawn's attorney came out and said that Billie and Shawn WERE in a relationship. This was before the body was identified as a male.
This year, Billie has immediately jumped into giving interviews and appears to be trying to distance herself from Shawn. Even more, she is throwing Shawn under that bus. Is Billie wondering if Shawn has already gone to LE to make a deal? She should be. I do not believe Shawn will go down on his own for this. If I remember correctly, when he was being questioned early on, he indicated that LE should be looking at BOTH Billie and Shawn in relation to Hailey's gone missing. This was during the polygraph testing.
I would expect to see Shawn and Billie pointing fingers at each other if this turns out to be Hailey's remains.

Why don't you call the FBI and ask them who you are ...since your so confused of which Identity you are, depending on which one you choose, to air..within what ever scenario suits you, online.

I agree that her statements are prep work for putting this all on Shawn and distancing herself from him. Billie says he is "MHMR", or "Mental Health, Mental Retardation" (she was trying to sound like an educated professional).
If Shawn's family has any sense at all, they will realize that the passage of time has not diminished the risk he is in. They may have become emboldened when he was not arrested for child pornography, or in Hailey's arrest, but the case is far from over.

Young is not a stupid man. He may not be a nice man, or a moral man, but he is not stupid. He will have Billie testify against Shawn in order to save her, but the gamble in this is what Shawn has on Billie.
The word "we" indicates unity or cooperation. It is why we do not see the word "we" enter a rape victim's statement, after the rape, because there is no "we" between victim and perpetrator.
Even in describing the break up, Dunn said "when we broke up..." rather than, "when I broke up with him" or "he broke up with me..." which would have showed distance.
His family had him take a polygraph, which he failed. They know the truth and they should consider now, carefully, if this is Hailey, they better act before Billie does.
I don't think Shawn will say anything until he knows his goose is cooked. Billie will get loose lips and start pointing fingers and eventually give up information she shouldn't know about.

Red Ryder, you are correct there are conflicting reports about the dry lake bed. The reporter got it wrong. As Anon 11:35 said, there are county roads, this was never part of the lake area.
ReplyDeleteThe road she was found near is in area off the highway that connects Big Spring (where Shawn's mother lives) to Snyder (where Shawn worked until he quit the day Hailey was reported missing.)
My guess is Shawn knew that area well. I have driven around there on my bicycle and motorcycle and believe me it is wide open and remote terrian. Local anon in the hailey Dunn case

I am always amazed at how rude some poster get. If anyone accused me of being someone I am not, what does it mean? Nothing. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, much less curse at a person on a blog. Good grief, you aren't helping your case any.

Almost sounds like they discussed "saying" we hate each other to make others believe it. And her finally getting him to move out, sounds like she had to convince him that was necessary also. He may think it is all being done for both their benefits but it is only being done for Billie's benefit. Hook, line, sinker - Shawn.

I have read the area was only accessible on foot.I take news reports with a grain of salt, especially when they may be protecting a site as in this case. It makes a difference in terms of, if this were Hailey, then that means he did not place her in water. He either buried her in a shallow grave or just dumped her in the open, ugly fields anyone? Was this an area that had been searched? It is so close to Snyder and easily within the time frame for SA to have put Hailey there (if it is her).

Red Ryder, 4:18 anon here. Also known as local anon in the Hailey Dunn case. She was found in an area fairly thick with mesquite and cacti, off the road. While LE is not releasing the exact location,ktxs flew a helicopter over the scene. The location is not too far off the dirt road and not where the lake bed is. Yes, Very close to Snyder and remote enough to easily dump a body and not worry about being seen. No, according to the searchers the area was not searched. But there is a lot of open country so it would be very hard to search everywhere. Hope that answers your questions.

Here are some quotes from today's article:
"[He] started [calling] and harassing me and scaring me. I've just seen a darker side of him," Billie said.
She said that after they split, he moved back to his mother's house in Big Spring. We went to his mother's home looking to speak with Adkins. Family was inside the house but nobody would answer the door. Nearby neighbors claim Adkins went out-of-state a few months ago for work.
Meanwhile, they say his parents have been getting death threats in the mail and over the Internet. Neighbors also tell NewsWest 9, his mom and step dad are good, honest people and have been shattered by all of this.
Billie claims that lately she's been reflecting heavily on the past, and how strangely Shawn was acting those first few days after Hailey's disappearance.
"For instance, the main thing about him quitting his job and lying to me about it for a week, saying he had a job and then telling me he was fired when, in fact, he wasn't," she said.
Dunn also finds it suspicious that her ex-boyfriend, she claims, couldn't produce his coveralls, a type of work uniform, when a law enforcement requested them.
"The fact that he lied and said they were at work and we already know through video and through his boss that he didn't leave them at work. So, why are they hidden?" Dunn said.
She suspects he may know more about Hailey's whereabouts than what everyone originally thought.

One of her stories from before was that she had washed the coveralls the night before and Shawn took them to work and dropped them off at work the morning he quit. Drugs may have addled her brain so badly by now that she can't remember what she said previously.
ReplyDeleteShe certainly DID say that Shawn's coverall work clothes had been laundered and he turned them in when he went to the job site that morning. In fact, I believe she said SHE laundered them herself. I'd guarantee it that wasn't ALL Billie laundered during the wee hours of the night they violently raped and killed Hailey.
ReplyDeleteThere was a LOT of conversation about this at the time; why she laundered Shawn's work clothes when the company he worked for provided laundry services for their employees' work clothes.
I've been here this whole time reading every statement made by Billie Jean; even way before Caylee Anthony, Hailey Dunn and Haleigh Cummings went missing, and reading all of Peter's articles.
Now Billie's got this new story coming out of left field that the one pair of coveralls couldn't be found when LE asked for them? I'd sure like to hear LE confirm this new story! And if that's the case, why didn't they say so at the time?
Further, I do not buy into Billie's story that she has broken up with Shawn. How many times has she said this before? Several. Certainly not entirely, not unless it happened very recently, and even that would surprise me. Not only was there the time she claimed to be broken up with him, then he was caught at her home by officers who came to serve a warrant on him; there was another time she said they were broken up, then was seen with him in a motel room in Colorado City. AND another time, seen together at a concert in a nearby town.
She's suddenly scared of Shawn, has seen his dark side? That's a joke. Funny, she didn't see his dark side back when she was participating with him in his 'dark side' and when Hailey was living in dreaded fear of him, even sleeping with one eye open on the couch; and when she did sleep in her room she would see Shawn's shadow under the crack of her bedroom door late at night, moving back and forth and standing there. Damn right she was scared to death, but Billie knew nothing about Hailey's fears? Billie is a sniveling liar from the pit of hell.
Wasn't she seen at a concert with Shawn just a month ago, even posted about it on her facebook? Shawn apparently is working out of town (wonder where; just in the next county would be 'out of town') and if so this would somewhat curtail her seeing him.
Now she's running scared that this may be Hailey's remains (she knows already one way or the other) and is just trying to cover her tracks with her pitiful and 'eye-opening' stories,lies and whiney 'miss innocent' games.
I just WISH Shawn would speak up. I'd almost guarantee it the public would be a lot more believing and forgiving of Shawn than they ever will be of Billie Jean.
