Hailey Dunn Case: No Arrest Before Memorial?

How to spin an image for future jurors

With the Memorial upon us, there is still no news of arrests in the case of murdered 13 year old, Hailey Dunn.

Silence has, once again, fallen upon the small town of Colorado City, Texas, where residents will soon gather to pay its respects to their lost citizen.

Whether it is from Hollywood's portrayals or some well timed books, the public has come to believe that errors made by law enforcement are 'deliberate' and actually 'brilliant tactical strokes' in a larger 'strategical positioning', rather than just mistakes.  Reality tells us otherwise but, in the least, jurisdiction issues are settled, and the wheels of justice have begun their slow turn.

It is also another time for the attention starved mother and "Person of Interest" Billie Jean Dunn to take "front and center" while seeking to manipulate the future jury pool into believing she is not a cold-blooded sexually perverted killer, but a misunderstood and grieving mother, something she has not been able to do in the past 2 years.

Partying, and even posting insults towards her daughter and fellow Person of Interest, ex boyfriend Shawn Adkins, Dunn has been coached on everything from how to "talk to" her dead child, to how to tone down her suggestive clothing during public appearances.

But like all humans, her words give her away, in everything from the 6 month anniversary vigil's departing "Have hope for Hailey, but I'll see ya' all in 6 months!" to the most recent consciousness of guilt posting about Hailey's death being a sexual homicide.

Mr. Curtis Lloyd, finder of Hailey's remains, continues to be under an order of silence, without explanation, telegraphing the need for silence, itself. The remains will speak.

John Young, Dunn's main competitor for the spotlight, continues to represent himself as Dunn's 'pro bono' attorney and will have his hands full in an attempt to choreograph Dunn's every movement, including face expressions, and will try to keep her words to a minimum, perhaps even scripting them, but will still be challenged by Dunn's insatiable appetite for attention, and who's habit of deception is to pour on extra words in an attempt to persuade.

The finding of Hailey's remains has not triggered the national exposure, a la Nancy Grace, that both Young and Dunn may have anticipated, so it is not outside the realm of possibility that the memorial service will have some eye-catching moments of drama.

Stay tuned.

  1. I hope you're right about justice, Peter, as I still have my doubts.

How dare she attend Hailey's memorial when she put her where she is.

    Billie disgusts me beyond belief.

  2. It hurts to know that the person who is responsible for taking this young vibrant child away from other people who loved her, will be front and center acting like a grieving parent. She did this. She is responsible for people having to mourn Hailey. She is responsible for the tears that will be cried today. She is responsible for the heart ache her dad has had to endure. How can she even show her face, knowing she is the one responsible for this tragedy. If it wasn't for those two devils, she would still be with us. Today she could be playing basketball, or swimming at the pool with friends, instead her friends are having to mourn for her at a memorial service. Shame on LE for letting her even show her face at this memorial. Keep hurting her even in passing. :(

  4. Anon 10:19 you sound like a "pro bono attorney" doing damage control. What a piece of work you are. You're the reason people like Billie and Sean and Casey Anthony get away with killing children, you sick, twisted pup!

You will be proven wrong sick pup. Proof will be shown that Billie killed Hailey with the help of her pedophile boyfriend.

  6. I can understand why people are angry or annoyed at BD attending Hailey's memorial.

Don't you think though that this may be prime opportunity to analyze BDs words if she does give a statement.Observe her behaviour and body language.Look how she dresses, watch who she interacts with, and who she doesn't.

Observe people around her,and look how they are reacting to her,be it negative or positive. This memorial may yield a lot more information, than she may realise...

  7. LOL @ "whoville" creature...so true!

If BJD and SA aren't talking deal with Prosecutors, they certainly should be. We'll never know the real truth of this murder, unless by some chance the son saw or heard something, but with the remains found one or both will be prosecuted.

  9. John, I agree.

If, Billie wants a scene, before and or during Hailey Dunn's memorial service, allow her to create her own.

If, after the memorial service, folks feel a need to display, please take it off school grounds, so the children may resume their classes, tomorrow.
    Remember the children, please.

I, too, am curious if BJD will speak at the memorial, and if so, what she will say. It could be a rich opportunity to examine her words, body language, and demeanor.

  20. I agree with John that the memorial may well provide important insights from BD. I've thought for awhile now that it is perhaps why LE has waited to make arrests. In addition they might not want to appear callous toward Hailey's 'mother' which might cause undue sympathy for BD.
It's also possible that things turned into a standoff, LE not wanting to release the remains until after the memorials and BD refusing to move ahead until they were released to her. Hopefully, the memorials will be enough, then the arrests can proceed.

  25. Perhaps, so that justice may be served, the trial will be moved. That is what happened in the Darlie Routier case. Her attorney, Doug Parks, asked for a change of venue because he felt Darlie Routier had received too much negative publicity in Dallas. It was moved to the city of Kerrville. 16 years ago, Kerville was a very conservative part of Texas and was noted for not being shy about meting out sentences for the maximum that the law allows. Darlie Routier received a death sentence. Once again, be careful what you wish for.

I believe Darlie is guilty, but I also think she was not the only one involved. I think the investigation got tunnel vision early on and ignored the involvement of others such as her husband and perhaps someone he hired. I think the only reason Darlie has not implicated him is because they had the baby and there would be no one to raise him if they were both implicated. The Routiers got a divorce last year and their son will soon be 17. It will be interesting to see if her story changes in the next couple of years. Also there were so many questionable practices in this trial by the prosecution that I am surprised she has not been granted a new trial. Chief among these are and the 33,000 mistakes in the transcript presented to the jury, the fact that Darin Routier admitted to planning a possible robbery for insurance purposes, a conflict of interest on the part of Darlie's defense attorney, and the bloody fingerprint that was never matched to anyone at the crime scene.

    BACA Mission Statement

Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle.

  91. I didn't catch the live stream until it was in the middle of the photo montage, music and some pre recorded speakers. I'm very surprised that whoever did this recording did not ask Connie Jones, Clint's mom and Hailey's favorite grandmother to say anything. I am sure she would have. But they had billie and her mother? No Clint, no David. No aunts ?

I also cannot believe that someone from the family didn't get up at the end and thank the searchers for all the work they did looking for Hailey these past 2 + years. They didn't thank Curtis (who was there) for finding her and bringing her home. They didn't thank anyone from HFH for the website, flyers, events, etc.. nothing. The memorial ended on an odd note. I didn't know it had ended until I saw the people get up and leave. It was very short.

Does anyone know if Hailey's remains have been released yet?

I hope that arrests are coming sooner than soon. It's time. Hailey deserves justice.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Could people just zip it with the complaints for ONE day?! Who cares what they wear to their dead daughter's memorial? Some parents can barely make it there. Maybe it was her favorite shirts of his. Maybe it meant something special.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Or maybe it says something about the environment and mindset that Hailey was surrounded by. Her own dad couldn't beg borrow or steal something appropriate to occasion? You want me/us to show more respect for the solemnity of the occasion than Hailey's own dad did?

    ReplyDelete
  108. I noticed during one of the filmed speeches BJD made, she talked a lot of her and Clint. She seems to want to project an united force.
Regarding what Clint was wearing it isn't what I think of as attire for a memorial service, but I noticed most people were dressed casual and maybe they wanted everyone to know casual was ok?
I am surprised there wasn't a big thank you to the local searchers.
This united front that BJD is projecting between her and Clint is interesting. I would have liked to hear him or David speak.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I would have liked to hear anything live from any of the family. This was the public memorial for Hailey. It should have been a time for the family to share their love of Hailey with her friends and teachers. Instead, they set themselves along with the BD supporters off from everyone else, put their bodyguards at their back and sent nearly everyone else to the bleachers. There was nothing warm, spontaneous or personal from any of the family.

  118. Did anyone think that maybe Hailey gave her dad that shirt for Christmas? If that had been the case, and since we know that was the last time Clint saw his daughter alive, it would make perfect sense if he wanted to wear it "for" her at HER memorial, since she never got to see him wear it.

All, of course, speculation. As much speculation, I suppose, as those who are assuming he's treating his daughter's memorial flippantly.

Also, some families were not raised with the decorum that others were. At my great-aunt's funeral, there were some folks from a very clearly different lifestyle than my family that attended. My father, brother, grandfather, uncles, and cousins all wore dark suits and ties, and we ladies, down to my infant daughter, wore conservative, dark-colored dresses or pantsuits; we stood in stark contrast to her late husband's family, who arrived wearing old jeans, wrinkled button-down shirts, tennis shoes or cowboy boots, low-cut dresses and tops...you get the picture. I felt awkward for them, but I shouldn't have. My father was in charge of the graveside eulogy, and I noticed how he purposely motioned toward her in-laws to include them as he spoke of her love for her family and how comfortable she was when "the whole crew" was home for Christmas. Those in suits comforted those in t-shirts, and vice verse, neither "group" giving any indication that they were aware of the difference in funeral attire. Not a comment was made, either before or after the service, or even when we were home, about the dress of my great-aunt's other side of the family. They aren't us, and that's okay. Their grief was as real as ours, and they did not disrespect her memory by the clothes they wore. Quite the opposite: they honored her memory by grieving publicly for a woman who meant so much to them and whom they would miss. One of the little girls who came with the "in-laws" side wore a stained, worn play dress with cartoon characters on it. She told us, in her deep Southern drawl, "Ainte Z gay-ve me this drey-us last year. She likes that I weared it for her today!"

Additionally, I am not one bit surprised that no other family spoke out. It's possible that BJ's lawyer told her (as any lawyer should, and probably would) to arrange it short and sweet and keep innocent Dad from presenting real emotions that her supporters can compare to her own lack of emotion. Even those who aren't trained to read emotions or analyze statements, can pick up significant factors when two polar opposites are presented in one setting. It would be too much of a give-away. Not to mention, did we really expect that BJ would be able to give up control of the memorial service? The service was to be BILLIE'S magnum opus. This was the "big show," y'all. She wasn't going to give up one second of her chance to play the grieving mother with so many there to watch! What a wasted opportunity that would have been!

I have an idea that she knows this may be her last shot at snowing the public, and she wasn't going to let anyone else overshadow her. She knows Clint searched and she didn't. She knows there's zero cloud of suspicion over his head. She is well aware that, of Hailey's family, Clint and David are the ones for whom the public hurts the most. She would not, I'm sure, have them crying while standing in front at a memorial that presented her with such an opportunity to look just as mournful as they do.

We don't know that there is enough for the slow wheels of justice to begin their turning toward what we want; that we assume they are is our hopefulness for justice, something to be expected.

Additionally, Curtis' silence "itself" does not speak volumes necessarily; this too can be reading far too much into things. Perhaps it's as simple as he was asked to keep quiet because he was saying too much, starting to let too many marbles slip out, starting to attract too much attention; perhaps someone wanted to hedge off potential future problems at the pass and this isn't because something is in place, getting ready to be dropped like a hammer of justice (though we certainly hope this is the case).

We need to be careful not to commit many of the offenses SA cautions against in our hopes for justice. I frequently see the most ardent students and teachers of SA falling into traps of twisting statements and lack thereof into a case that hasn't been made, either against or for a person. The words quoted above are ironic in many ways since the author has been guilty of this many times BUT I find it quite refreshing to see them printed here for consideration, it is WONDERFUL to read such a statement!

Can or should we be so hopeful as to think LE is waiting until after the memorial just to see how Billie will conduct herself so they will have more to add to their case? I'm thinking this is a bit ridiculous and a bit Hollywood, though I initially gave credence to the possibility. I do not believe it has a strong basis for reasonable plausibility.

Let's discuss the merits of probability of this, if it is to be argued that LE is doing this intentionally, rather than it being incidental afterward as 'evidence' used by the prosecution should Billie ever be taken to trial for Hailey's disappearance and death.

BD has been the focus of criticism for her age inappropriate dress and what's good for the goose is good for the gander. He's too old for that type of shirt too.
I understand your point that it is all about coming together to support and comfort each other. In this family, I have a hard time trying to seeing that. I have more sympathy for Clint than Billie, but not much.

Again, if he had worn a tshirt of any color, I could agree, but his daughter was murdered by a mask-wearing, sexual deviant and Clint wears a Tapout tshirt. It's the type of tshirt that is so offensive. Take a look at the link for an example.

    http://s493.photobucket.com/user/elnene92gio/media/tapout_400x300b.gif.html

It's bad enough to see teens wearing these on the street. The father of a murdered daughter wearing it to her funeral and you don't see a problem?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Why are people picking on Clint for his dress? They were in a gym, not a church. I'm sure this was very difficult for Clint to attend. If my daughter's remains were found lying out in a field, I'm not sure I would be sane enough to attend anything. I think I would be locked up.

Clint sat next to David and comforted David during the memorial. I guess I find that more important than what he was wearing.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I have a comment on Billie's statement. As others have noted, she never made any eye contact and merely read, with no emotion, from a piece of paper. What was with the background noise? There was clinging, clanging of dishes and someone yelling ? They couldn't have recorded this at someone's home? A car? Someplace that was quiet?

I noticed Billie did get in a parting shot by saying "I won't speculate and ruin Hailey's day" at the end of her statement. Really Billie? Because just saying that took away from Hailey's memorial. You didn't have to say ANYTHING on that subject. Why not elaborate on Hailey and what she liked to do? Why the big "Thank you" to Clint?? What or who are you trying to manipulate????

God bless Hailey. May she rest in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  135. To be fair, I think what they REALLY wanted to do was insult what Billie was wearing, but since she turned up presentable, that wasn't possible, so they sharpened the claws, refocused and changed their tactics.

  137. "Hallelujah"

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
    It goes like this
    The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
    The baffled king composing Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you.
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
    It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time when you let me know
    What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    Maybe there’s a God above
But all I’ve ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It’s not a cry you can hear at night
It’s not somebody who has seen the light
    It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well, really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light in every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah

    Song by LEONARD COHEN

I find this to be an odd choice. The line "I've told the truth" stands out to me.

NO OTHER Mother could have OR would have even thought about facebook if they'd just been told their child was dead!

I'm sure Bea Wacker showed up looking fresh and stylish and not at all white trashy, presenting herself, as always, as the picture of grace and class. Seriously, excluding the kids and the teachers... everyone I saw in the crowd looked .... well, kind of unclean, nasty and slovenly. What do they feed people there? Is it a local requirement to be obese? Shout out, though, to Billie for taking the time to get very obvious hair extensions in advance of her daughter's memorial service. (That's a joke.) Also, the flowers that everyone was bitching so much about on WOJ (as if it were their business at all) ended up looking amazingly beautiful. I noticed WOJ changed her cover photo to include the flowers she and the gang were so incensed over, so maybe she decided after seeing what a beautiful presentation made that she and her disciples were being bona fide idiots over a non-issue that was never their business to begin with.

But I also may be accustomed to things different than say the east coast, as Portland, OR is my homestead and the motto here is "keep Portland weird"

    Different cultures.

Regarding arrests and Mr Hyatts confidence... I trust him. He has never presented to be "above reproach" He is a humble man and shame on any person that attacks him or anyone posting here, regardless of their opinion.

Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Hyatt.

  155. The picture of David crying with his hands over his face is heart breaking. Why is Billie not comforting him? I see one where Clint comforts him, which is lovely to see, but Billie? She looks as cold and cheap as she always has.

I saw photos of friends who were there. Hailey has a lot of people who love her.

  156. I'm insulted that some are picking apart what people wore. This is a very low income community and with the economy what it is, it was probably a stretch just to come up with the extra gas money to attend. But they did. And not all gyms are air conditioned. I've been to graduation here in our town with no a/c in the gym and it was, to say the least, steaming. I'm sure people made sure to wear clean clothing and attempted to do their best. And why does anyone's weight matter? How childish!

I imagine Billie's attorney either told her what to wear or picked out her clothing for the service.

Those people came to show respect and bid farewell to Hailey. They didn't come to prance on a cat walk like models wearing the newest from Paris. Give them a break! Please???

Was Shawn anywhere there, did anyone notice? Was he seen? And I also wonder why Billie is attempting to throw her hat in the ring with Clint now.

And no thank you to the searchers or to the one man who found this angel. That makes me so very sad. It speaks volumes.

While all this was transpiring, Billie had claimed the seat to clints left left but when Billie got up to bully miss Connie, Clint had David move to the seat Billie had vacated which resulted in Billie stomping her foot after saying something to David and Clint.
This is why the service didn't start at 3pm as scheduled.
Billie attempted to show the grieving mother when the pictures began by throwing herself on the woman to her left but zoom lenses showed her dry eyes closed, not watching.

  163. The flowers were nice, the candle lighting was nice too. I am perplexed as to why the gym was not full to capacity with standing room only. The whole community should have been in attendance, including law enforcement, local officials and all the children attending CC Middle school. The previously recorded interview from BJD seemed strange since she was sitting in the audience. I can understand prerecording if the person could not attend or was too afraid to speak in public but that does not apply to BJD as we have seen her on television talking to millions.
The least she could have done was publicly thanked Hailey's young friends and her teachers
for sharing their love and memories! BJD did have huge dark circles under her eyes and I wondered if she was ill!
The teachers were excellent and I felt the love they had for Hailey!

I think what is important is that people attended Hailey's memorial for Hailey. Does it really matter what people were wearing? People showed up to pay respect.

Some funerals (and I know this wasn't a funeral) I have attended had people show up wearing work clothes (not office work but dirty work, builders etc). Nobody thought they were disrespectful, on the contrary they were pleased that people took time out to pay their respects, even though they could not get the day off work. Their attendance was appreciated.

Not everyone at the memorial will be a supporter of BJD, but they will be supporters of Hailey and justice.

Everybody trashing Clint Dunn for dressing casually in a black shirt (black = MOURNING and blue jeans) yet looking at the photo gallery, 90% of the attendees not only dressed casually in cheap shirts and jeans, but many of the women - Pillie Jean NotDunnNithingKerplunk included - were dressed in cheaply designed glitzy sluttish clothing, and again only one complaint about the ratty uncouth rabble of bandanna bikers all in dirty blue jeans and heavy black boots.

(how many animals were murdered to make all that leather.....?)

Clint Dunn is the reason why Hailey excelled in school and school sports and outdoor sports (canoeing, hiking, fishing) and embraced religion.

Clint Dunn is the reason why Hailey was well-mannered and generous-of-heart.

Clint Dunn spent a year searching every nook and cranny of Texas for Hailey.

Clint Dunn posted thousands of missing person fliers.

Clint Dunn worked his ass off on an oil rig to support himself and fiance and their children.

Clint Dunn was cleared by LE of any wrong-doing yet has spent every waking moment blaming himself for Hailey's demise.

Clint Dunn said he would murder Shawn Adkins if Shawn Adkins was guilty.

Clint Dunn suffered a nervous breakdown when more than a year ago LE informed him Hailey was likely dead.

Clint Dunn suffered a second nervous breakdown when Hailey's remains were found.

Clint Dunn has only posted on facebook a handful of times and has never said a bad word about Billie or Shawn, other than stating he would murder Shawn if Shawn hurt and/or murdered Hailey in any way.

Clint Dunn had to battle Billie to be "allowed" to attend the memorial.

Clint Dunn had to battle Billie to get Billie to "allow" several of Hailey's closest friends to attend the memorial.

    STOP TRASHING CLINT DUNN

The man is an innocent victim.

SHAWN ADKINS AND BILLIE JEAN DUNN are the guilty murderers, and quite frankly THE WHOLE TOWN of Colorado Springs are pieces of shit scumbags because they allowed the person suspected of co-murdering Hailey to control the memorial and dictate who could attend.

FUCK COLORADO SPRINGS AND EVERYBODY IN IT, except Clint Dunn and his family.

The comments about Billie trying to control who attended the memorial are interesting. I did expect there to be a lot more people there.
Between Billie and the poster known as (ske) on the Hailey Dunn Discussion FB group,I guess they had a lot to do with some people not going.
This guy seems to stir up a lot of negativity on that page. He is a supporter of Shawn as well as Billie. Which is his right, but he should try to be more convincing and less like a 'yes' man.

I know (ske) posts and reads here. Did you attend the memorial or did you not bother like you said you wouldn't?

  178. The memorial was shown on tv in CC which could have caused many not to attend. People were on Facebook telling people what to wear, which rubbed alot of people wrong. Holly Jenkins and Stacey ran this show for Billie and her liking.
I was surprized when scumbag Young, his wife and daughter walked in and sat in the bleachers instead of with Billie.
Hailey's best friend also recorded a written speech. I would like Peter to do SA on her speech. Everything she said about Hailey was not in a good light.
The principal did thank everyone except Curtis Lloyd.Mr Lloyd knows everyone BUT Billie and Shawn are thankful for him finding Hailey.

Is this the song Billie Dunn chose for Hailey's memorial? Why does it still astonish me that Billie Dunn would choose a song with sex and violence in it for Hailey's memorial service? More marbles slipping out?

  180. Her best friends speech stated Hailey told her everything. Is she the friend that was seen going in the LE

  182. I too would love to here Peter's analysis on the best friends speech. I was taken back by all of the negative things she said.... it made me feel very uncomfortable for the friend. What was that all about??

  183. There is probably no right or comfortable way to speak when you have lost a child, but...
I thought it was odd how fast (very fast) BJD spoke, also the noise in the background of the video. It had no sense of peace or love to it.
Maybe BJD was worried someone would say something (if the bikers were there for her I guess so)if she spoke in person.
I live in a small town and have seen a lot of t-shirts and levis at memorial services, most often they dress it up with a button up shirt. Clothing really no big deal in the big picture.
Why didn't Clint or David speak?

  184. After rereading my post above, I don't think I was expecting much from BJD, I just can't get over that video. If you know the whole country is watching why make the video like that. If you have a lawyer why didn't he say something to her. The only reason I can think of is BJD doesn't listen to anyone.

  186. Why does NG play segments of the Jodi Arias trial over and over, but doesn't mention Hailey. God NG irritates me sometimes.

  187. Skeptical, yes that was the final song while they lit their candles, right before the mnisters closing prayers. http://www.newswest9.com/story/22250191/live-streaming-videohailey-dunn-memorial-service It starts at 51:50. Weird and creepy.

  188. I doubt BJD read the words, just heard the hallelujah and thought it was good for a memorial service.
The more I see of BJD choices the more I think she just doesn't take the time to think about anything.
There is always a chance that this song was a favorite of Hailey's.
I think people give her too much credit sometimes and she just isn't very smart.

  190. if you think Hallelujah was haunting, read the lyric to "In the arms of the angels"

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction oh beautiful release
    Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty and weightless and maybe
    I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angels fly away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You were pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the Angels; may you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
    It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of the Angels fly away from here
From this small, cold hotel room, and the emptiness that you fear
You were pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of the Angels; may you find some comfort here

  191. Hallelujah is a favorite of mine but my God, didn't anyone involved listen to what the words were? It's not a song that's appropriate for a memorial service. I think they just heard all those hallelujah's and thought "well, that sounds nice".

I don't know what to think of David now after watching the memorial and seeing the pictures. It seemed to me with not searching, etc that he just didn't care. That may not be the case judging by the emotion he showed at the service. Billie and her mothers videos were strange to me. They felt flat and emotionless. The friend's video saying how angry Hailey could get seemed odd. The most sincere emotion came from the coach and the teacher.
It was an odd thing to watch overall.

  192. Sarah McLachlan - Angel
was written for/after a friend O.D.ed on drugs.

imo, it is totally wrong for a funeral no matter how the person died. but if on the surface, listen to the sadness and agony of the singer, and then the words of being in the arms of an angel now..... ok
