Parents of missing Amber Peat, 13, appeal for information

The parents of missing 13-year-old Amber Peat have made an emotional appear for anyone with information on the whereabouts of their daughter to contact them.

Amber went missing from her home in Mansfield at around 5.30pm on Saturday. Her step-father Danny Peat has described her disappearance as completely out of character.

At a press conference held by Nottinghamshire Police, mum Kelly and Amber's stepfather Danny Peat described their daughter as a "homebird" and said her disappearance was "out of character".

38mins 14 seconds. Her step father speaks of her in the past tense. "All she ever (wanted) to do is read?

  9. Amber's mother, Kelly, said: "We were in the living room, and I heard the front door slam, and that's when I realised. I couldn't see her anywhere - she was just gone.
    ---------------------
    On another news website is:

Mrs Peat said "nothing else happened" that would lead to Amber leaving, apart from a disagreement over chores.

She added: "I was upstairs and I heard a door bang.

"I went downstairs and she wasn't around, so I looked outside and she was nowhere."

  10. She said "We were in the living room" but "I heard the front door slam". Is the change from we to I significant? If you heard a door slam to indicate a child leaving wouldn't you go rushing straight after them. No-one disappears that quickly.
