Soft Language and Violent Crime

Do you remember the pizza owner, Rick Jones attacked for being homosexual, knocked unconscious and made to drink bleach?

His response to the attackers was so polite, that I urged investigators on this alone (I had no statement) to re-interview him as his language did not match such a vicious hateful attack.  They did, and the got a confession.  The "hate crime" had already raised $23,000 and stirred up lots of support for him.  In fact, the police quotes showed more emotional language than did Jones, who even went as far as concuss himself.

"I think someone is using this as psychological warfare against my family," said Jones, who was hospitalized with a concussion following the assault.
Would you call it "psychological warfare" if you had been concussed with a brutal hit over the head, knocked unconscious, had your arms cut into with a knife, and had bleach poured down your throat and then robbed?
Originally, this led police to something that one officer aptly said:
"It is like chasing a ghost."
That is, until they listened to the language of "the ghost" and he materialized.

Recall the NY family told to move out of their neighborhood:

"Attention:  African Americans"

This was soft language and not the language of racists who would have used much harsher language.  I wrote that this was the most polite racist I had ever imagined.

The home owner wrote it herself.

"The 3 gentlemen that did this..."

"Gentlemen" is not a word that we should hear when describing assailants.

Deceptive people do use soft language in fake hate crimes.  You have several examples of this in the past year.

When it comes to violence, however, it becomes even more noticeable.

It was just a sentence or two that showed pizza guy was not assaulted, nor made to drink bleach.

The anger that victims of violence, including those who witness violence (if they feared for their lives, or the lives others--something that signaled increase in hormonal response) causes them to choose words that could condemn them later.  In anger, people use racial slang, and other "my filter is off" language and it is actually expected in truthful statements.

                     Victims do not like perpetrators.

Generally, people will connect themselves to the event, as experienced, while deceptive people do not have an experiential memory bank to draw from.  Trauma, even secondary, will show itself in language, consistently, though sexual abuse victims from childhood being the possible exception (which is why separate training is used).

Ever hear parents of a missing child praise law enforcement for failing to find their child, early in the investigation?

Ever hear a suspect attempt to align himself with law enforcement describing his cooperation?  When someone goes missing, it is an insult to even ask if a loved one is cooperating, and technically, it is "unnecessary" information, making it very important to us.

We ask suspects, "How would you conduct this investigation?" for good reason as we listen, not simply for 'sensory description' within language, but an actual connection (often fueled with emotion, which could include overt detachment).

There is no substitute for formal training, and the requisite post study, application and practice needed for authentic lie detection.

But what of the opposite?  What might this suggest to you, as you consider "fake hate" or "fake crime" reports?

When soft or passive language is used, it is often an indication that the deceptive person is more concerned with his or her own image than the crime.

OT(??not sure)

A good example of passive language indicating Kardashian withheld information.

The following is a statement from Robert Kardashian in a deposition for the OJ Simpson murder trial.

“On June 13, 1994, I learned that Nicole Brown-Simpson had been killed. Upon learning this information, I drove to O.J. Simpson’s house on Rockingham in Los Angeles, California. When I arrived there I parked my car and attempted to enter the residential property on foot. However, uniformed police would not permit me onto Mr. Simpson’s property.

I learned that O.J. Simpson was not there but would be arriving soon. I waited outside the residential property for some period of time. I then saw O.J. Simpson, accompanied by Leroy “Skip” Taft, Esq., and Cathy Randa, arrive in a car at the Simpson residence. The car stopped outside the property. O.J. Simpson got out of the car and entered the residential property. Cathy Randa then left the car and took a Louis Vuitton garment bag from the car. She greeted me with a hug. I took the bag from Ms. Randa. I attempted, then, to enter the Rockingham property, but was again stopped by uniformed Los Angeles Police officers. I asked whether the police officers would take the bag onto the property and was told that they would not. I, then , put the bag in my car and left.

The bag remained in my trunk until the next morning when I moved the bag from the trunk of one car to the trunk of another car. I moved the bag because I was driving the other car and I wanted to have the bag with me to return it to Mr. Simpson. The next morning, June 14, 1994, I returned to the residence at Rockingham. I took the Louis Vuitton garment bag into the house and left it there. At no time did I open the bag and examine, alter or in any way observe the contents.

Later, I left Rockingham with Mr. Simpson. Mr. Simpson took several bags with him when he left, including the Louis Vuitton garment bag. The bags were placed in my car.

Mr. Simpson and I, later that day, went to the Los Angeles International Airport, American Airlines terminal, where we picked up Mr. Simpson’s golf bag at the baggage area. The golf bag was placed in my car.

We later went to my residence. At that time, the golf bag was placed in my garage and the Louis Vuitton bag was taken into my house. The golf bag remained in my garage until taken from the property by Judge Delbert Wong in 1995. I did not remove the contents of the golf bag or in any way alter the contents of that bag.

With respect to the Louis Vuitton bag, it remained in my residence until several weeks later when it was taken out of the residence by Cathy Randa. The Louis Vuitton bag was in my residence and the golf bag was in my garage at the time my house was searched by many police officers on June 17, 1994, the day of O.J. Simpson’s arrest. To my knowledge, law enforcement officers were aware of the Louis Vuitton bag and the golf bag at that time.

At no time did I open the Louis Vuitton bag, and I did not remove or in any way interfere with or alter the contents of the bag at any time.”

I do so love it Peter when you just nail it!

imagrandma - Wouldn't most of what Kardashian said be expected? Especially because that is how lawyers talk. Lawyers(good ones) THINK about every word before they say it. They live in a world where they are acutely aware of the chosen word because they then use it against YOU so they of course, become very good at censoring themselves.

I agree with Peter completely here. I would expect to find passivity in the language of child sex abuse victims (and possibly adult sexual assault victims due to disassociating themselves). One lady I know began having flashbacks years after the assault and had great difficulty discussing the assault with her counselor-she was unwilling to visually place herself back in the assault. Even now, she actively avoids reading news stories of similar sexual assault situations. She said it makes her feel physically ill. No one is going to be complimentary of the person(s) who just assaulted/attacked you.

In the case of a date rape type of offense, I would expect the victim's language to begin with some "we" as they were in agreement on the date in the beginning (as in "We drove to the party..." or "We had just left the restaurant..." or "We decided to go to..."). I would expect it to change to fragmented language("he", "I" or "she", "I") and remain fragmented after the assault.

Zimbabwean Pastor Sells 'Holy Pens' That Make Students Pass Their Exams

A Zimbabwean pastor has reportedly convinced his congregants his holy pens can make students pass their exams - and the more you pay for one, the better grades you'll get.

Prophet Sham Hungwe of House of Grace International Church in Harare is selling the pens, which cost from $1 up to $20.

According to News24Zim, the prophet told his congregation those sitting exams only needed faith and one of the special pens to pass.

"They are anointed and I declare passes when your children sit for exams. They are said to work for anyone who is sitting for any test," he said.

According to Nigerian Watch, one parishioner testified: "My son is not very bright and I think this will help him. With the knowledge he has acquired and this pen from the man of God, I think it is going to work."

One student said he scored highly in his A-levels last year after using the pen he was given by the prophet, reports Amebo Book.

Man who last saw missing Mounds View man speaks out.

September 27, 2015

We have to take into account that this maybe edited and my subsequently effect the analysis later on if more of the interview is released.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- There are still more questions than answers in the disappearance of a Mounds View man.

Mounds View Police said Saturday that the last call made from Henry McCabe's cell phone pinged off a tower near Silver Lake Road and Mississippi street in New Brighton.

That's about five miles from the Super America gas station where William Papus Kennedy said he dropped off McCabe on Labor Day morning.

Creek View Park in New Brighton is now the new focus of the search for McCabe. The park is near the location where police say the last call was placed. Saturday, McCabe's family and members of the Liberian community searched the area.

Mounds View police say they have requested financial and other documents link to McCabe.

McCabe, a 32-year-old married father of two, hasn't been seen since the early morning of Labor Day. And, no one has heard from the auditor who worked at The Minnesota Department of Revenue.

His colleagues say it's not like him to miss work.

On Saturday, volunteers assisting with the search said McCabe's wife has a voicemail from her husband's cellphone that was "bizarre." Mounds View police did not elaborate on the alleged message.

McCabe's wife initially said she received a call from her husband and it sounded as if he was crying out for help. She said she and her children were in California at the time of the call.

Investigators with Mounds View Police say they are "actively" pursuing the case. Police say this is not a criminal case and they don't have any suspects.

By contrast, Kennedy says people have been attacking him on social media. He reached out to KARE 11 to share his story.

"I am willing, even if it costs me to pay for it to take a lie detector test," he said. "I have no motive. I do not want to hurt Henry or anyone."

It is a good sign that he is "willing to take a lie detector test" It is also a good sign that he uses "Henry's" name.

"I have no motive. I do not want to hurt Henry or anyone."

Here is were it gets a bit odd.

Was he asked about a motive or that he would "hurt Henry or anyone" If this is in the free editing stage then we need to know what his "Personal Subjective Internal Dictionary definition of these words are.
What does he mean by "I have no motive?"
What does mean by not wanting to "hurt Henry or anyone?"

Kennedy alleges prior to September 6, he and McCabe never hung out. Kennedy alleges McCabe knew about him "from back home" in Liberia. Prior to moving to Minnesota, Kennedy said he was a well-known basketball player in Liberia. Kennedy may have been the last person to see McCabe.

"I wish I had never given him a ride with all that is going on. I wish I never did," Kennedy said. "We were not friends, more like acquaintances."

"We were not friends, more like acquaintances."

Is this distancing language.

Kennedy said he has missed several days of work because he's been unable to concentrate on the job. When McCabe was first reported missing police did question Kennedy.

For now Kennedy, 38, hopes police get a break in this case soon.

"I really wish Henry would come out somewhere alive and explain the true story himself," he said. "I want to clear my name."

Why does this enter his language. This is worrying and unexpected.
Does he believe Henry is not "alive"?
Have LE alluded to the fact he may not be alive or anyone else?
Does he know Henry is not alive?
Does he have guilty knowledge that something nefarious has happened to Henry?
Did he kill Henry?

This is from the VT and not covered in the written article.

Q: "When was the last time you saw Henry?"

A: "The last time i saw Henry was the night i dropped him off"

Note here he reflects part of the question back at the interviewer. This is sometimes used to give oneself time to think. This maybe experiential, or he maybe giving himself time to fabricate or deceive.

Q: "And where did you drop Henry off?"

A: "I drop Henry off at (or by) the gas station on the ( I think he says esso or essex) gas station on highway 65".

Q: "why"

A: "Cos he asked to be drop off, drop off there.

""I really wish Henry would come out somewhere alive"

Just this part alone would give me reason to bring him in and question regarding the time he allegedly dropped him off.

Voicemail in Case of Missing Mounds View Man is Released

Snipped:

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has obtained a voicemail that is important in the case of a missing Mounds View man.
The voicemail is disturbing and difficult to understand. It's also the last time 32-year-old Henry McCabe was heard from.
Those who know McCabe shared the recording in the hope that whoever knows what happened will come forward.
There are two minutes of bizarre noises, including growls and moans. There's very little actual talking.
Authorities confirm the middle-of-the-night call came from McCabe's cell phone. It was placed on Labor Day, Sept. 7, at 2:28 a.m.

If i have my dates right, then, William Papus Kennedy was talking about Henry possibly being dead, before this audio was released.

OT ---------------TRANSCRIPTION

This is one of the televised interviews of Dad, Mom Kunz. There are other stations carrying different parts of interviews with other people in them. While I will work on the transcription of those interviews also, I will not transcribe anyone else’s comments during the interviews except for mom and dads.
Abbreviation
D – Dad
M- Mom
This is East Idaho News (where that awful interviewer Nate is) posted Saturday October 24 2015. This is first and longest interview posted before other stations conducted their own interviews which I also posted. This interview is over 4 minutes and includes Jessica’s mom and deorr’s sister Tanisha. I will stick with just transcribing dad and mom.
Interviewer: So what’ your opinion on the sheriff they were starting over from just as it happened yesterday, they’re starting fresh.
D: Prolly not a bad idea. I mean, we, we agreed.after that, that’s what we been thinkin too. Is Somethins, somethins been overlooked., something hasn’t…whatever hasn’t been found is what we plan on finding and what we’re going to find. We’ve, we, we, we’ve got to..I’m, we’re runnin outta time the weather’s not agreeing with us on a lot of this.
We’re trying to go over, double search, double, where, what’s been searched. Go over it again, what hasn’t been searched, anything that may have been overlooked, little pockets, things like that, that little sections that could have been overlooked that, k, now we’re gonna kinda narr.. try an narrow down into one spot here, one spot here, just tryin to figure out everything that’s su..is get as many people as we can to get their eyes open and get their eyes goin. We as a family, for my sons sake and for ours, we need to find something, because once the snow flies, its..its, there, whater, whata, whata, , what’m I gonna do? At,at this point, I’d be, I’d be happy with a, same color thread of what he’s wearing.

M: There’s there’s to much ground to cover to 100% say that everything has been checked and double checked and triple checked every bit…everything that’s been, ya know, like picked up and moved and anything that he could’ve got under or ya know, lost his boot or anything like that to show us a sign of where he was, or which way he went, or what happened. There’s to much ground to cover to say that we’ve covered everything so we’re kinda doing that now and tryin to get that done before the snow comes.
D: And so far , where nothin’s been found, I wanna go back thru over everything AGAIN, and anything that in my mind I don’t think has been checked off even tho the search and rescue and all that has done an amazing job, I…this..the truth of it is…is nothings been found yet so… (shrugs his shoulders) sister Tanisha starts to talk and Dad interrupts her with:
D: Ya have to start at square one, and I agree with uh, Sheriff Bowerman, I…I agree with the officials that what..whatever that may be , whatever that may take, let..we’re gonna do it from square one again.
(Cut)
D: And they..the peep, the people thought the family asked nobody to come , or try to get…no..that’s not it, it’s just that everybody was coming up and nobody was checking in , and then we’re gonna have lost people and those resources to find those lost people could be ? used to find my son. Well now, we gotta sit ..we’re…we’re…we’re getting …so this..the family is runnin this and we’re asking the public, please help. A..All we ask of you is to come in, ah, put your name and phone number down, that way we know who’s here and if you don’t come back during a check in time, we know whose missing now. So that way, everybody stays safe and everythings fine and just help...if you can help find my son, if you have the time, please do..otherwise just than…pray for us and thank you.

KIDK 3 Local News 8 , This interview clip was posted Monday October 25, at 11:57 AM
D: They reverse my speeches, they, they look beyon.. anala-size, anala-size my body language, they do all this crap the only thing that matters is, I have a son, my little boy, my, my world is missing.
(Cut to Mom)
M: People can say what they want but nobodys gonna question the love that I have for my son, or how I treated him, or how much I love him. I miss him.
(Cut to Dad)
D: I don’t care what you hafta say, I don’t care what…if you’re negative, fine, and just be negative. But I’m not gonna feed into it anymore. The family’s not gonna feed into it anymore. We just want , we want answers too. The public tells everybody well we, we demand answers, yeah..try be the family member.
(Cut to Mom)
M: Well, I want people ta keep their negative comments to themselves, because it doesn’t matter what they think, it’s the whole, my son is missing, and he’s not even, his birthday’s in December, he’s not even 3 yet, he deserves to be found , and he deserves to have us know what happened to him. Regardless of how you feel about me , or muh, my fiancé, or the situation, it’s about finding him.

KPVI Interview posted today, October 26, 12:05 AM, only mom appears.
M: Nothing, we’re still at square one, like the day it happened.
Interviewer: What is Deorr like?
M: He’s happy go lucky, always making people laugh, always. He’s a flirt so he flirts with any ladies he sees, um, he’s got the biggest heart, the sweetest, kindest, little boy you would ever meet. I’m praying that one day I go to sleep and wake up and it just been this nightmare and he’s in his bed and he’s safe, and it was just, ya know, something I had a dream about, not real life.
(Cut)
M: The horrible, unimaginable, that they’ve said that we’ve done without evidence, without even knowing who we are as people or his parents or anything like that. Questioning the love that I HAD for him (I listened to this numerous times, you almost hear “HAVE” for him, but it is HAD. If you are watching her mouth, the word formed is HAD imo)
And, and, that’s kinda been the hardest .
(Cut)
M: I, I, always keep that hope alive just because we have nooo idea what happened. Um, but I also try to be realistic, ya know, if an animal got him, there’s a chance that he’s not with us anymore. And I’m realistic about it, but I keep that hope alive that I will see him.
(Cut)
M: With the colors changing up here it’s easier to see, ya know, his pajamas cuz they were light blue, , um, things like that, and y’know it kind of our last let’s figure out where we haven’t searched and let’s search those areas better…Mom says a few more word but there is video interference.

A BIG THANK YOU TO LYNDA for the latest Deorr transcription- that had to be extremely hard to transcribe - as it was hard for me to read. All over the place.

I wonder, does Mom talk the way she does, all over the place, while Dad Deorr is around (first interview- even though you can't see him is he standing there maybe?)
bc she seems like she talks just fine when she is being interviewed by herself.

D: K, we know as much as we did on day 1 and when you mi..ya know, ugh..you could ..you know as a parent you believe the best route which is that is..if at least if somebody has him at least there’s always a chance I GAVE HIM BACK…we get him back. So but in order, in order to even find there…up here there’s gonna be ..there’s gotta be something up here to tell us where ..what direction to go in, what ha..what’s happened, what’s going on.

So what is interesting is that I did the transcription from East Idaho News that leads off everything. Then, I did a little more digging and found this video where it is the same interview EXCEPT the part I just transcribed above WAS CUT OUT. The latest video has the part where Dad says I GAVE HIM BACK and the corrects himself and says.."We get him back."

Also, possible leakage on mom's part where she says, "questioning the love I HAD for him." Mom says this to one news interview and in another interview she says the same thing except she says, "questioning the love i HAVE for him." Was this leakage in previous interview and that statement that dad makes, "I GIVE HIM BACK" just blew me outta the water!

Susan Powell’s sister-in-law has broken her silence to say she suspects her pedophile father and killer brother had something to do with the Utah mother’s disappearance.

Powell was last seen at the home she shared with her husband Josh and their two sons in West Valley City in December 2009.

Authorities focused on her husband, who after losing custody of his children during the investigation into his wife’s disappearance, blew up his house with himself and his young boys locked inside.

Then in 2013, Josh’s brother Michael committed suicide.

In a haunting interview with Crime Watch Daily to be broadcast on Tuesday, Jennifer Graves says she believes Michael and her father Steven Powell - who was convicted of child porn possession after authorities searched his house - knew where Susan’s body was located.

The mother-of-five revealed how she went to great lengths to get justice for her missing sister-in-law – including turning on her own brother, Susan’s husband.

Now, with two brothers and two innocent nephews, a father in jail and a sister-in-law who is still missing, Graves is looking for closure in the horrific case.

She is hoping her father will finally come forward with the truth.

On the Crime Watch Daily program, she describing the moment she realized her family members may be involved.

‘I just remember going numb… sinking to the ground, wondering what to do,’ she said.

Graves said she traveled to her father’s home in Puyallup, Washington, where Josh had taken his sons, to confront her brother – while wearing a wire.

‘It suddenly occurred to me “I wonder if the police would back me up?” I could wear a wire,' she explained.

‘We went over to my Dad’s house that Friday and I confronted them.’

She added: ‘It was the scariest thing I have ever done.’

Powell, then 28, was last seen alive on December 6, 2009. Since she has been missing for more than five years, she is legally dead under Utah law.

Her husband Josh is suspected of having killed his wife.

He killed himself and his two sons in February 2012.

However, family members have said they believe his father Steven was also complicit in her presumed death.

Police serving a search warrant found thousands of images of Susan in the home Steven Powell was sharing with his son.

The images, some of which were sexually suggestive, showed the mother out walking, doing laundry or sitting in her car and apparently unaware of her picture being taken.

Steven Powell has never been charged with any crimes related to the images of Susan Powell.

But he was found guilty of possessing child pornography earlier this year.

He was also convicted in 2012 on 14 counts of voyeurism for taking pictures and shooting video of his neighbors – two girls aged eight and 10 - from a window as they used a bathroom.

Graves' brave attempt to find answers didn't work. Josh Powell refused to discuss the disappearance and Steven called his daughter a b**ch before ordering her out of his home.

The majority of buyers are women, who are looking to protect themselves. Europe is getting ready to fall to Islam and the people there know it and are terrified. Their leaders have deliberately manipulated this in order for it to occur. Whole towns are being overrun with refugees and they are taking over. People are told that if they don’t like it, they can leave. There’s nowhere for them to go, so many will have to hunker down and protect themselves the best way they can. This will get very bloody in the end."

Lisa,

I saw the original news story. It is very difficult to get a gun in Germany, but Austria appears to be different.

I am not a gun owner, though i have never been against them; it is just not my interest.

I have never understood the 2nd Amendment because a government with nuclear weapons cannot be resisted. It has never made sense to me.

Europe now tells me that my thinking has been wrong.

Peter

PS: Anonymous Rotherham, thank you. Tania will likely weigh in on this. It is frightening and I think the number of girls and now women, who's lives were ruined, may be higher.

I know that it is easy to say "England made her bed, let her lie in it" but I have read of many Germans who opposed the Nazis but suffered the same fate. There are British patriots, German patriots, and perhaps even some Swedish patriots, who want to protect their wives, children, home and property but are not heard because MSM only reports what the government wants.

When people say, "Why do they want open borders?" especially since we screen people before they step on an airplane, and open borders lets criminals freely pass it is because they build an unstoppable voter base so they can get their elections, even though it destroys a country.

OT Update:

Nothing found in most recent search for missing 2-year-old

REGION — Searchers report that nothing was found during the weekend search for missing 2-year-old DeOrr Kunz.

The child went missing on July 10 from the Timber Creek Campground by Leadore, Idaho. Individuals all over Idaho have been involved in the effort to find out what happened to Kunz.

Rachel Voss, part of the effort to help Kunz’ family, helped pull together a group over the past weekend to conduct a last search for Kunz before winter.

“The search went well,” Voss said. “We said a prayer and did grid searches all over. Nothing was found.”

Voss said the family brought pumpkins to the campground that they decorated for Kunz and left them at the rock where he was last seen.

“People left and more people kept coming!” Voss said. “We were drenched and muddy and scratched up.”

Eric Thomas of St. Anthony said one of the senior members of Fremont County Search and Rescue who volunteered to help in the search was not able to make it to the search over the weekend. The junior member who volunteered made it to Sage Junction and had to turn around because he got pulled over due to a wiring problem on his ATV trailer.

Thomas was unsure if the other senior member who volunteered was able to participate in the search.

John - I've been waiting for you to show up so you could give your thoughts on the transcripts and the possible "leakage" (see above) As for the reconstruction, there was no film done but the PI announced that after the reconstruction he found it totally possible and probable that Deorr was kidnapped. Of course now we know he pulled his reward and disengaged from the family never to be heard from again (Until he writes a book)

According to social media, the reconstruction was not long after his afternoon meeting with grandpa and Isaac, who had gone out fishing together - the PI was, apparently, totally satisfied, following that meeting, that neither had anything to do with DeOrr's disappearance. Trina apparently, was most displeased that the PI had made contact with grandpa without going through her. PI Vilt had felt he had to get up there, however, as Isaac had apparently told someone he was going to shoot grandpa - that someone phoned in the shooting threat as a tip to PI Vilt. It may be complete rubbish, but it's a very strange series of events for anyone to make up. Still, If it's true LE will be aware of it.

There was a video but it was more a news clip than a proper reconstruction - it involved Jessica, DeOrr, Tanisha sitting on their usual rock facing away from the camera, and a little girl standing in as DeOrr, plus a deputy - Vilt was being grandpa, who went into his camper vehicle, meanwhile the little girl wandered away for a few yards. That demonstrated that it was possible she had been kidnapped, somehow. It also seemed to be an attempt to change the story, from grandpa being by the campfire, or fishing by the creek, to his going into his camper and being distracted for a few minutes. That seems to be all that came of it, anyway.

John (per your post at 9:52 re: Missing Mounds View Man Henry Mcabe)

Good points, as usual John!

William Kennedy: "I am willing, even if it costs me to pay for it to take a lie detector test," he said. "I have no motive. I do not want to hurt Henry or anyone."

He has indicated that he is willing, but a stronger statement would be if he said "I will take a lie detector test." I'm willing to exercise and eat right, but I seem to have trouble following through. I'd be more comfortable if Kennedy named a specific date and time for the poly he'd already arranged with LE. ;) I think I'd be anxious to clear myself immediately.

I find it alarmimg that mentally, he immediately went to money. I find it twice as alarming that he's willing to pay for a lie detector test- to me that smacks of polygraph shopping. I have no experience with this, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that LE would polygraph for free if you're the last person to see someone who subsequently goes missing. I can see why LE is looking at financials (I hope that includes Kennedy's). I also hope they're reconstructing where both Mcabe and Kennedy have been lately, who each has been in contact with, their shared history, and who they may have in common (particularly from "back home"). Maybe I'm just really suspicious, I don't know.

That he proceeds to motive is concerning because this is the perfect place to indignantly proclaim, "I did not hurt or harm Henry Mcabe in any way. I did not cause or contribute in any way to his disappearance."- along with expressing concern for Henry (his physical and mental state, his family, his disappearance). At least that's what I think I would do if I were him and had nothing to do with it. I'd be worried that after I dropped him off, he may have had a medical emergency (stroke, TIA, heart attack, seizure from an undiagnosed condition) that prevented him from contacting someone. People don't just go missing. As the person who gave him the ride, I'd wonder if he was in financial trouble, having marital issues, leaving his wife, etc. (i.e. running from something or someone).

I'm more than a little curious how this acquaintance from "back home" ended up being the person who gave him a ride. That's just so odd. Maybe I should go read the article and do a little homework.

Were there any questions asked of them to elicit their responses? Are their words all said in the "free editing stage"?

This indeed is very uncomfortable to watch in the light of what we now know about the allegations. Is this how talks all the time because he sounds either stoned, drunk, or possible both.

Bill Cosby's Creepy 2003 Interview With Sofia Vergara Is Almost Unbearable To Watch
"Men look at you, and they only think of sin."

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting dozens of women.

As countless victims come forward, many schools and former allies have cut ties with the comedian, while some former co-stars have come forward to talk about uncomfortable encounters they had with Cosby.

And in a new clip unearthed by Latina, viewers get a chance to watch a creepy 2003 interview between Cosby and a then relatively unknown Sofia Vergara. Cosby was part of a group of hosts filling in for David Letterman on "The Late Show" while Letterman dealt with health issues.

Every minute of the interview is unbearable, as Cosby stares down Vergara, commenting on everything from her outfit to the fact that she makes him "excited." And to make matters worse, Cosby plops down next to Vergara in a guest seat, instead of sitting at Letterman's desk.

"S-I-N is sin," Cosby says as Vergara looks on uncomfortably. "Men look at you, and they only think of sin ... Now what you have on tonight is wonderful. This is wonderful. And when you walked out, many, uh, many people became attentive."

Cosby continues, and begins to lean in closer to Vergara to speak to her.

"You make me feel young again," he says, speaking in a Spanish accent. "You make me feel very, um, excited. Look at me."

Vergara clearly tries to deflect his comments with laughter, but we can't shrug off our discomfort.

John..The only questions that were heard were

"What do you think of the Sheriff saying they are starting all over with the investigation" directed to the group and dad answered with "Probably a good idea." And then launches into his typical ramblings. He is really hard to transcribe! lol

Mom was asked, "Tell me what Deorr is like" and that's her solo interview where she says he is a flirt.

So IMO, it is a large amount of free editing. I think Dad doesn't think at all! His free editing stage is vast because he can't help himself. It was free editing when dad made the big slip of "I give him back" and then self corrected to "we get him back". I think the interviewer caught that also because that is the only time you hear him respond with.."RIGHT". It was as if the interviewer was saying, "There you go, that's the right answer, you get him back, NOT that YOU give him back.

Lisa - I posted a screenshot of Jessica's buy, barter, sell FB add advertising camo boots for sale, size 2 - if it's still there, it will be on an earlier thread but I don't know where, possibly not a DeOrr thread. The ad was placed Dec 2014 - obviously we don't know it they sold. People said size 2 child would be enormous on him, size 2 baby/toddler he would likely have outgrown, so either way not wearable by him - I think that's how it went - can't be more helpful than that. I got it from one of the open FB DeOrr groups, so it might be easier to find there -at least if it's on the one which the admin abandoned but is still the most popular.

Hi Juliet, this doesn't sound like a proper reconstruction
Why use a girl instead of a boy for the reconstruction?
This would lead to confusion as to who actually went missing to any possible witness.
They could have seen DeOrr (unlikely) but, on seeing the 'reconstruction' think oh it's a girl gone missing.
Why did Vilt go in the camper rather than stay by the fire or creek as per the initial reports?

This smacks of retrofitting rather than a reconstruction.
They aren't reconstruction the alleged night he vanished, they are creating a video of how he could have been abducted to fit their version of events/alibi.

Who organised this i wonder?

OT Update:

Madeleine Search Dramatically Scaled Back
The investigation into the three-year-old's disappearance has cost millions of pounds, but so far no-one has been arrested.

The number of Metropolitan Police staff investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is being reduced from 29 to four.

Despite the move, Scotland Yard insists the investigation has not yet reached its conclusion and "there are still focused lines of investigation to be pursued".

"The Met investigation has been painstaking and thorough and has for the first time brought together in one place what was disparate information across the world," Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, who has overseen the inquiry since 2012, said.

"This work has enabled us to better understand events the night Madeleine McCann went missing and ensure every possible measure is being taken to find out what happened to her."

Madeleine was three years old when she vanished while on a family holiday in Portugal in May 2007.

Her parents Gerry and Kate McCann were dining with friends nearby their rented holiday apartment in Praia da Luz at the time.

Portuguese police abandoned their investigation after 15 months without establishing any clues to the mystery, and for three years there was no official search for Madeleine.

With Home Office backing, Scotland Yard began a review of evidence in 2011 and then launched a full-scale investigation two years ago.

The probe has cost millions of pounds and spanned several countries, but so far no arrests have been made.

Police say more than 60 "persons of interest" have been investigated, while 650 sex offenders have "been considered".

Madeleine's parents say they "fully understand" why the police operation is being scaled back and remain hopeful there will be a breakthrough.

""Whilst we do not know what happened to Madeleine, we remain hopeful that she may still be found given the ongoing lines of inquiry," they said.

Ooops. Haven't you based the whole "story" surrounding Madeleine's disappearance as an "abduction" Yet yo claim "you do not know what happened" to her. ~inserts foot in mouth~

Their daughter's disappearance triggered one of the most high-profile missing persons investigations in British history.

In 2014, a team of around 30 officers and police staff travelled to the area to Praia da Luz to search a four acre site not far from where the McCanns had been staying.

And earlier this year, British detectives contacted their Australian counterparts after a young girl's body was found beside a highway in remote South Australia.

However local police "totally excluded" the possibility it could be Madeleine.

Tania - yes, it's like backward engineering, though retrofitting puts it better (adds to my vocabulary). I think the little girl was likely Tanisha's daughter, around the same age as DeOrr, probably it was convenient to take her along. The PI organised it, but at whose behest I don't know. So, it seems there could be some reason why someone wants to place grandpa in the camper, away from the campfire and away from the creek, when DeOrr went missing.

Exactly Tania. The PI even stated that they did the re-enactment to prove his theory that he could have been kidnapped. This PI was so bizarre. He says that during the re=enactment, when gpa was distracted, he just went up and "took" the child. He says nothing about the fact that it takes 45 minutes in a good vehicle to reach the campsite, with one road in and out. I finally found a video clip of the PI at the campsite on the day of the "re-enactment"

OT: Deorr re-enactment

"As part of the re-enactment, Vilt used a girl around Kunz's age to demonstrate how easy it would be for someone to abduct a child from the remote campsite.

“This gentleman who was camping here went inside his trailer just for a moment and I just walked up and took the child, the child came with me,”
said Vilt.

I'm assuming (which we should never do) however, i can't help but say. Surely, surely, the little was introduced to everyone, Deorrs parents, the PI etc. I can't believe for one second that he would walk up to a little girl and just walk away with her without the knowledge of her parents and consent. This may sound strange and obvious. Yet he says "I just walked up and took the child, the child came with me,” Of course she would, she knows whom he is (hopefully) Because if the little girls Parents did not give consent, and it was me that was the parent. He would be nursing some very nasty injuries.

This reconstruction is nonsense. A young child at that age would not go with someone they don't know, they would scream and shout, that is, if she doesn't have "stranger anxiety. Children of neglect have none because they have learned to get attention from wherever and whomever.

The whole thing is nonsense.

Below are articles with quite a few quotes from various DeOrr Kunz Jr.'s family members. But, here are a few excepts:

“Nothing. We’re still at square one, like we were the day that it happened,” says Jessica Mitchell, DeOrr Kunz’s mother.

“The horrible, unimaginable things that they have said that we have done without evidence, without even knowing who we are as people or his parents or anything like that, questioning the love that I have for him and that’s kind of been the hardest,” says Mitchell.

“I always keep that hope alive just because we have no idea what happened, but I also try to be realistic, you know, if an animal got him, there is a chance that he is not with us anymore, and I am realistic about it, but I keep that hope alive that I will see him,” says Mitchell.

I think this is the first time either of them have reference Deorr in the past tense. The passage of time can also have an effect on past tense verbs more so with males than females, especially if the parent is the mother of the missing child.

It is not an indication of guilt if he should reference him in the past tense, as past tense references in missing persons cases, particularly in missing children cases, indicates a belief or knowledge that the missing child is deceased.

It is not necessarily a sign of guilt. How the subject has come to this belief (or knowledge) can be:

a. Guilty knowledge
b. Things told to the subject by police
c. Signs of risk in the missing person's life (substance abuse, for example)
d. Pessimistic personality
e. passage of time. PH

What is unusual is that it is coming from the Mother and not the Father. Mothers will hold on to any scrap of hope that their Son/Daughter is still alive. Even to the point of being told they are dead, and see the coroners report.

OT Update:

Mystery man with a baby carriage near scene of toddler's body?

Two witnesses report seeing older man pushing coach toward Cooper River Park on morning toddler disappeare

Ater two weeks of no new information, a new wrinkle has turned up in the mysterious death of toddler Brendan Link Creato.

Both a man and a woman have reported seeing an older white man wheeling a baby carriage toward Cooper River Park early in the morning of Oct. 13.

One, interviewed by PhillyVoice on the day the three-year-old boy went missing, put the time near 7 a.m.

That was long before a police dog discovered Creato’s lifeless body at about 9 a.m. – but an hour after his father, David “DJ” Creato, called authorities to report his son missing at about 6 a.m.

The boy's body was found in a strip of woods flanking South Park Drive in Haddon Township, near a sharp elbow bend in the road.

Brendan and his 22-year-old father lived in an apartment a half-mile away, at the corner of Cooper and Virginia streets. His father and his mother, Samantha Donato, who lives elsewhere, shared custody of the boy, but the toddler was in his dad's care when he disappeared.

The father has told authorities the boy was last seen at around 10 p.m. on Oct. 12 and he was missing from their second-floor, double-locked apartment the next morning when he awoke before 6 a.m.

DJ Creato has said he immediately called his mother, Lisa, that morning. She lives about two blocks away on Virginia Street. The area is part of the Westmont section of the township.

DJ Creato has said he next called Haddon Township police to report his son missing.

The strip of woods where the toddler was discovered is near the terminus of Cooper Street, not far from the river that gives the park its name.

One of the witnesses to the man pushing the baby carriage, Mark Hoover, told PhillyVoice about the encounter on the day of the disappearance. Hoover has said he also told police about the sighting on the day of the disappearance.

But Camden County Prosecutor’s Office detectives say they are not aware of him talking and would like to meet with him, PhillyVoice has learned.

Andy McNeil, public information officer for the prosecutor's office, declined Wednesday to comment on the multiple stroller sightings in the neighborhood.

Cont..

John Mc Gowan said...

Cont..

COVERED WITH A BLANKET

Hoover, a township resident, said the man pushing the carriage wore a yellow sweater, tan pants and eyeglasses. He said the man appeared to be at least 60.

Hoover, who was cutting grass for a resident who lives near the park, said he thought it odd for an older man to be out that early with a baby stroller. The sun did not rise until 7:05 a.m. that day.

Hoover said he could not see into the carriage because it was covered over with a blanket – the temperature that morning was in the low 50s.

And while the timing of the walk struck Hoover as somewhat off, what hit him most, he said, was that the man met his gaze, then appeared to try to stare him down.

Hoover did not keep the man in view and could not say where the carriage headed after the brief encounter.

Attempts to locate and re-interview Hoover by PhillyVoice have not been successful over the past two days.

DJ Creato's lawyer, Richard Fuschino, said he had not heard of the baby stroller in the area before being contacted by PhillyVoice.

He added he is not aware of any stroller missing from the Creatos' home or his client's apartment, nor of any abandoned strollers found in the neighborhood.

"For all I know, it is a coincidence, but I certainly think is is something police should investigate," he said. "But I have no conclusion."

'I COULD BE FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES'
Meanwhile, no cause of death has been determined in Creato’s death more than two weeks ago.

The initial physical examination done during an autopsy, conducted by Camden County Medical Examiner Dr. Gerald “Buck” Feigin and reviewed by two other medical examiners, did not immediately reveal a cause of death for the toddler.

But additional laboratory reports – that usually includes things such as fiber analysis, microscopic studies and a toxicology report – remain pending.

No autopsy is considered complete until a final toxicology report is accepted.

In controversial or critical cases, sometime two labs are asked to file independent toxicology reports. If the results differ, the differences need to be reconciled, adding to turnaround time. Toxicology reports in critical cases typically take between 10 days and a month, though they can take longer.

A toxicology examination would be particularly telling if the child died due to the ingestion of drugs – illegal or prescription – rather than trauma or hypothermia, for example.

McNeil declined this week to comment on when a toxicology report is expected.

Other odd details have also percolated in the unresolved case.

For instance, DJ Creato’s 17-year-old girlfriend, Julia “Julie” Spensky, has said in a social media post made after the toddler’s body was discovered that she “could be facing criminal charges in a homicide investigation.”

The Tumblr post began:

“For the first time in my entire life, I understand what it means to be lonely. Nothing I’ve experienced in the past could have prepared me for this.

“So give me a reason to live; give me a reason to stay. Give me a reason to see it to my birthday. Because I honestly can’t find a reason by myself. I can’t do this; I don’t think I am strong enough.

“I’ve handled shit before, but nothing this serious and terrifying and nerve-racking.

She closes:

“Shit, I could be facing criminal charges in a homicide investigation. How does a 17-year-old deal with that?”

In another Tumblr post after Creato’s death, Spensky wrote:

Cont..

“I am possibly a suspect in a homicide investigation. I was advised by my attorney not to speak to anyone about my case. I am alone, I have no one to turn to. I can’t talk to my parents or anyone else in my family, not that anyone knows what happened…

“My boyfriend is in worse trouble than I am and can’t leave the state he’s in, but he has friends and family all around him to cry with and hug and vent to and lean on. I don’t have that luxury.

“I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to say or where to go or how to handle this situation, but what I do know is that I cannot go to anyone.”

Spensky's attorney, Joseph Sorrentino, declined comment on Wednesday.

CREEPY VIDEO

In a Tumblr post she published in August, Spensky claimed she had illegally worked under the table for the company that employs her boyfriend, Creato Window.

She also claimed in that post that while the company is owned by DJ Creato’s father, David Creato, it is actually affiliated with a man charged in several criminal investigations.

Spensky’s post alleges that the problem with Creato Window lies with Firas Emachah, whom Spensky characterized as a silent partner in the window company. Her post also called Emachah a chronic “liar.”

Emachah, 42, formerly owned a home renovation company in West Berlin named Dream House. It went out of business in 2014 after being charged with various schemes in Camden and Hunterdon counties. Charges are pending, according to county prosecutors.

Cont..

John Mc Gowan said...

Emachah has repeatedly spoken on behalf of the Creatos in media accounts since the death of Brendan.

Spensky alleges that Creato Window often didn’t pay her or her boyfriend because of insufficient funds in their bank account, and that the company routinely stalled subcontractors.

David Creato's lawyer, William Brennan, has not responded to requests for comment made over two days.

The Creato Window company shares its business address with David Creato's home on Virginia Avenue in Haddon Township, according to tax records.

McNeil said the prosecutor’s office is aware of the Tumblr postings, but he declined further comment, except to acknowledge that his office has charged Emachah with several instances of fraud and the cases against him are ongoing.

McNeil likewise declined comment on a since-removed YouTube trailer made by DJ Creato’s younger sister, Sarah Jessica Creato. The video was viewed by several township residents, and one resident described it for PhillyVoice.

Apparently done as an assignment for a college class, the trailer showed Brendan Creato in the role of a toddler named Mikey who disappears. The disappearance is revealed in the trailer by a character played by David Creato.

At the end of the trailer, "Mikey" turns out to have died.

The one word everyone interviewed by PhillyVoice concerning the trailer used to describe the trailer: Creepy.

GF is 17?? How old is Creato? Where are her parents? Good God...she says she's not allowed to talk to anyone and then posts on SM what looks to be at the very least suicidal ideation.

John- Thanks for the info. I recall that now being said that the mom usually is the last one to acknowledge a child's death.

But if someone could comment on what dad said? He wasn't speaking of child in the past tense,

he said
"we know as much as we did on day 1 and when you mi..ya know, ugh..you could ..you know as a parent you believe the best route which is that is..if at least if somebody has him at least there’s always a chance I GAVE HIM BACK…we get him back"

What does that mean? Nothing? Slip of the tongue? Excitement? Or guilty knowledge? A confession of sorts? "I gave him back" infers that he took him, did something, and there's "a chance I gave him back" Am I reading to much into the statement?

WTF? The baby, Brendan, played the role a toddler who disappeared and subsequently died? My jaw literally dropped when I read that. What kind of bizarre coincidence is that? I can't believe it.

Things look very bad for the 17 year old girlfriend. Why does she think Creato has the "luxury" of support of friends and family, whilst she does not.? Why doesn't she have that "luxury"? (weird word to use). Why doesn't she include herself in the support for her boyfriend? Why does she think she is so alone?Has Creato turned against her? Why does she have an attorney?

She displays zero interest in finding the kidnapper/killer and is focused squarely on herself, the potential homicide charge and suicidal ideation.

Shannon,
I was not thinking it showed pre-planning that she described him wearing boots she had sold months prior, but rather a matter of practicality in claiming those were what he had on.

When they ask what the missing child has on, you wouldn't want to mention any items that may still be in the home. So you specify things that you HAVE seen him wearing so that it feels and sounds true, but make sure they are things you know he wore MONTHS ago, and that you have thrown away or given to charity.

As horrible as it is to say, a pair of boots, particularly made from synthetic materials, would take a long time to decompose if you dumped them, and might be found eventually, whereas the body would be reduced to bones fairly quickly at that time of year, and this occurred in an area where wildlife would scatter the bones.

DeOrr:

'l'd be happy with a same colour thread of what he's wearing.'

That would not be satisfactory at all - a 'same color thread' would not be a thread of what he had been wearing - why would that make anyone happy? It would not be from the clothing DeOrr had been wearing if it was just 'a same colour thread'. Even if a thread of the same colour was found, that would present its own problems, as weathering would have changed the colour. If he had said 'I would be happy with even a thread of what he was wearing', it would have sounded right - but 'same colour', especially when knowing it could not still be the same colour - I think, unintentionally, he shows his line of thought?

I think all the stuff about the colours changing is not about fall as the colours up there seem not to have changed greatly, more faded as the ground plants do whatever they do for winter. DeOrr is worried that he is running out of time (we've gotta - I'm - we're running out of time) as the investigation is starting over - there is something up there which has been 'overlooked', and which they were intending to 'find' , or cause to be found, but the weather is against them. Maybe something was hidden on an earlier weekend, quite recently, 'that boot' or similar blue fabric, but it isn't weathering fast enough to look like it's been there since July.

I can't copy and paste the text from within the page here, so DeOrr's words are more paraphrase than quotes.

A few points Re Brandon Creato. OT:

I am possibly a suspect in a homicide investigation.

I don’t have that luxury."

"“My boyfriend is in worse trouble than I am"

She uses the possessive pronoun "My" yet this is an "improper social introduction" it is assumed that the listener / reader knows to whom she is referring to, but we never assume. Whom is her boyfriend?

"Proper social introduction"

"My boyfriend, Joe Blogs"

"My" possessive pronoun
"Boyfriend" Title
"Joe Blogs" Name

This shows a good relationship at the time the statement was released.

Given that we don't get proper "social introduction", may suggest that at the time of speaking, the relationship is not as good as it could be. She may be distancing herself from whomever she is referring to.

"I was advised by my attorney not to speak to anyone about my case."

By saying ""My case" taking ownership with the pronoun "MY" suggest's that she is anticipating or is being implicated in what has happened, and or may have knowledge, guilty or otherwise in the death of Brendan.

Social introduction and no name.

I have just learned something else i didn't know. :)

If the subject does not want to reveal the name of her husband/boyfriend, partner etc (in a public statement, perhaps), it is not to be concluded as an incomplete social introduction.

Is this the reason why she does not mention his name. Does she not want to mention whomever she is talking about, or as i mentioned above, is she distancing herself, again, from whomever she is talking about?

John, the context is always to be taken into consideration. If the expected is a full into, anything less is noted.

Later on, note that there should be a change from longer to shorter. Note it.

If there are other changes, it becomes significant, even with changes in capitalization.

Okay, wait. A 17 YEAR OLD GIRLFRIEND????? Isn't that statutory rape? Anyone know the New Jersey law on that? I'm by no means a prude but I have an issue with the father, who I believe is close to 30, having a 17 year old girlfriend. And why is she saying that stuff? Is she stupid????? Even if it's true, you don't talk about stuff like that!! Now I wonder if she knows what happened and dad tried to cover for her. Or maybe it was just her.

Self censoring...and in a really weird way.

I would hope only an idiot would sell boots and then describe them as him having been wearing them. That's so easy to pick apart (as we found out). I'd just describe generic boots. How could anyone know I was lying in that case? "Oh, he had on brown combat boots." "Where'd you get them, and when?" "Oh...I don't remember. I think I saw them on sale months ago when they were too big for him but the sale was so good, I bought them anyway." She's either really dumb, or it is not relevant. Let's hope the latter.

"Spensky alleges that Creato Window often didn’t pay her or her boyfriend because of insufficient funds in their bank account...."

I just love when thieves and cheaters feel so cruelly wronged when their stealing and cheating nets them a loss, not the easy, effortless profit from others' hard work that they expected.

As to the rest, it has a lot of self-absorbed, teen-angsty drama queen vibe. Quite likely she does know what happened, but is trying to elevate her importance in it, and cash in on some of the social media attention others' stories are drawing.

Police and her attorney, if not any reasonable, caring adults in her life, likely gave her a good scare, a verbal smack upside her head that this is real life, an actual child is dead, and somebody may be facing hard time.

That her withholding knowledge before or after the fact is serious business, and at 17, she could face adult consequences, including a vacation in the Graybar Hotel.

Her attorney, smelling the publicity all over this one, has since assured her he can get her a great deal including the female discount, that she'll have nothing to worry about if she cooperates.

Being the immature, attention-hungry drama queen she is, she just can't resist seeing the endless speculation all over social media and probably everywhere she goes in town there, and not getting her fair share.

John, I wouldn't expect even this clueless girl to give his real name online, especially when it's not exactly a common one, and the case already has reached international media!

A challenge for me as a noob is learning to apply SA principles to the speech/text and see the case through the (super illuminating) lens of SA, rather than seeing SA through the elements of the case.

Having said that, does the "or" separate her parents from the rest of her family in a relationship context?
Or could that just be distinguishing her parents because she lives with them, which would be support right at home in contrast to somewhere to go?

Anon: First, the forever refers to the stamp's value and means it is forever valid for an ounce of first-class postage even if the current rate is $100.

Second, if it were a political statement it would appear to be anti-Islam if crossing out forever refers to it instead of the face value.

Shannon, DJ is 22, a very young 22 from what I can tell (not that emotional maturity is relevant for legal purposes, obviously).

I'm not sure, but last I recall 17 is old enough to give consent in all states. Many have specifics related to an age difference of at least five years, but I haven't a clue about New Jersey.

Depending on their birthdates it could be slightly less (or more) than five years.

Is she stupid? Well... :^D. Again, not relevant legally but I would guess an average 17-year-old would find DJ too immature.
This one, not so much. Probably evenly matched.

But if the rambling about this is the first time in her entire life she has ever felt alone, or lonely, or like she has nobody who will help her, what changed in her life recently?
What do they believe, true or untrue, about her involvement? I hope investigators ask her that.
