Why Was Kyron Horman Suit Dropped?

Desiree Young has withdrawn the suit.

Her attorneys knew, all along, of the restrictions that law enforcement may seek to uphold.  Is it possible that an agreement of sorts has taken place in which Desiree has accomplished what she intended all along:  to pressure the state attorneys into moving her son's case forward?

For those who have yet to research the analysis, Terri Horman has been indicated for deception in the case of missing 7 year old Kyron Horman.  She, along with her friend, DeeDee Spicher, both were deceptive, with Spicher seeking to defend Horman, and perhaps, even assisted her after the fact.

It is my personal belief that after Terri Horman killed Kyron, she moved his body, and likely to a place where it would be devoured by the elements.  It is my personal belief that his body was, in fact, put into a large body of water.

There is lots of analysis, especially early on, in this case, in which veracity was indicated in Desiree Young (Kyron's mother) and Kaine Horman (father).

For a missing child case, this gives readers examples of Behavioral Analysis, and "the expected"; that is, responses that are expected, since analysis deals with the "unexpected."

Desiree continues to put pressure on Terri Horman, who's sociopathic mind refuses to whisper where Kyron's remains can be found, or even what happened to him, so that she can keep Desiree from having any closure.

You will note in the press conference that after the years have passed, Desiree said she would "never" stop looking for Kyron.

This indicates belief that he will not be found.

When seen very early on in a missing child case it is a red flag.

Given the passage of time, here, it is not.

Analysis, although scientific, is not 'wooden' blocks, and context is always important.

Kyron is not forgotten by us.

Let us hope that state attorneys have something to offer Desiree in exchange for dropping her suit.

This has caused outrage in the UK,and it bloody well should.!!

WARNING:VERY UPSETTING...

Deputy PM Promises Daniel Pelka Case Review.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has promised an independent review into the death of four year old Daniel Pelka amid calls for teachers and social workers to resign.

Daniel was subjected to a horrifying catalogue of assaults and callous abuse at the hands of his mother Magdelena Luczak and step-father Mariusz Krezolek, who were convicted of his murder on Wednesday.

Mr Clegg said that Daniel's "vile, evil murder" should be "on all of our consciences".

He told told LBC 97.3 radio: "Clearly people must have seen something was wrong with this boy."

Asked what the Government could do in response, Mr Clegg said an independent person would be named as soon as possible to conduct a case review into Daniel's death.

The review would play "a disproportionately important role in showing what more we need to do to make sure that people don't fall between the cracks," he said.

Earlier, Luczak's mother told Sky News her daughter was "a normal girl who grew up in a normal home."

john said...

Cont..

olanta Luczak said her daughter had called her several months before Daniel's death.

She said: "I remember she called me, she was crying, she said she had a hard life, she did not want to be with this man anymore.

"I told her to come back, pack up and come back to Poland. I wanted her to make a decision and return with the children to Poland, but she told me that Daniel had no documents, no passport.

"I told her that there would be a way, to bring the child back to Poland. But then I didn't hear from her. He did not allow her contact with the family."

The MP for Coventry North West, Geoffrey Robinson, said teachers and social service staff had "badly let down" Daniel and should consider quitting their positions.

He told Sky News: “I think there is something culturally wrong within the social services, and not just in Coventry…

"People seeing a kid beaten, starved to death, it's brutality, sadism of a Nazi kind in our own country and we are allowing it to happen. You can’t just say there is nothing we can do about it."

He said the case was "horrifyingly reminiscent" of the Baby Peter case in 2007, when Haringey child protection services failed to prevent the death of toddler Peter Connolly.

Mr Robinson has called for the immediate resignation of the city's Director of Children's Services, Colin Green - who intends to step down in September - and said those serving under him should also consider their positions.

"Where were these individuals when Daniel needed them most?" he asked. "Bureaucracy triumphed over common sense, care, and compassion.

"Those who failed Daniel must examine their own consciences, and conclude whether it is appropriate for them to remain in their posts."

Daniel died of a head injury in March 2012 after suffering months of cruelty and violence which turned him from "a beautiful little boy to a bag of bones", according to police.

He was imprisoned in a room with the door handles removed, fed salt when he asked for a drink, deprived of food and forced to defecate in his bed.

Mr Robinson also expressed anger at Daniel's school, which failed to act upon warning signs that suggested he was being abused.

He said: "Daniel was let down," he said. "He was let down badly, by an evil stepfather, an indifferent and selfish mother, but also by the Children's Services in Coventry and by the school that he attended.

"How can the staff at his school have failed to have recognised patterns of behaviour that should have set alarm bells ringing, not only within the school but within the corridors of power within the council?

"How could anyone believe it to be normal for a child to climb on the top of furniture to get to food; to scavenge around bins to access waste; and to steal food from the lunch-boxes?

"What human being, with the slightest understanding of children, would not have been concerned enough to take action to set alarm bells ringing?"

Daniel's biological father, who moved back to Poland when the boy was a year old, echoed Mr Robinson and questioned why "nobody reacted in time" to ask why Daniel was so hungry.

"If people in school saw that he was taking a food from bins, they should do something," he said. "Go to Magda, or to Mariusz, and ask why the child is hungry.

"They should send the police or social services to check the situation at home; check what they were doing with the child.

"As far as I know they did just nothing. Of course they failed Daniel. Nobody reacted in time. I am not saying they are guilty, but I know they made a mistake."

Luczak and Krezolek will be sentenced on Friday.

Kyron Horman is how I found statemet analysis/Peter's blog.

I was heartened when Desiree initiated her civil law suit. It instilled a sense of hope that we would finally find him. Now I don't know what to think. I don't know how the American legal processes (any legal process/system) works.

Is it possible that an agreement of sorts has taken place in which Desiree has accomplished what she intended all along: to pressure the state attorneys into moving her son's case forward?

I don't know. Your question implies that the state attorneys let Kyron's case go dormant, but we have seen the occasional search since the early months of the case.

I hope whatever her effort, it has a positive outcome and it wasn't all for not.

In two instances I have seen friends' kids be used as pawns. I think to myself that it's temporary. That the kids will grow up and be able to make their own decisions about who they want to live with, etc. or if made to feel guilty that they can go away for university and just be done with the whole living arrangement/support thing and that the money WILL finally go to the intended (the kid/s). On the other hand, the kids are so damaged at the other end. It's so frustrating to see/watch emotional abuse unfold and you can't do anything about it because the parent is working the system to their advantage.

Kyron paid the ultimate price at the hands of a sick, emotionally mal-adjusted woman. Through what has been discovered since Kyron's disappearance, I can't say I have much thought of Kaine Horman. It was his selfishness and ego that enabled the whole scenario to unforld and as a result put Kyron in harm's way. I don't know how Desiree has kept it (her sanity) together.

God speed, Desiree. God speed Kyron.

Justice for Kyron! It's what I continue to pray for.

I'm trying to understand this case, and I ask this with respect: If Terri said goodbye to Kyron as he went off down the hallway to his first class, and a witness saw Kyron down the hallway after Terri had said goodbye to him (ie. separated from Terri) can someone propose how the kidnapping by Terri's hands would have occurred?
I am more than willing to believe Terri kidnapped Kyron. It just makes no sense to me. If the witness saw him on his way to class after separating from Terri, how would she have pulled off this crime?

Daniel's fate is sickening! I am outraged at his mother and step-father. I feel angrier towards those outwith his family unit, the teachers at his school for instance. They did not inflict any suffering directly on this poor little boy but they ignored him. They must have, how could they not see this little boy fading away? They should be asnwering some very important questions! Someone must have raised a single concern surely?! I think someone from that school should be handing in their resignation too :(

The psychopathy involved is so profound, it is hard to even think about.
I don't even know how a lawyer could defend these killers. I hope these killers are locked up forever.

One Big Question I have:

When reading about this case, this jumped out at me. Terri had emailed Kyron's teacher later in the day to ask her when she should bring Kyron's science project home. Some have used this fact to suggest her possible innocence. However, Kaine says that Terri took his truck to the school that morning to make it easier for her to bring Kyron's science project home.
It seems, however, that the science fair ended without the science projects being sent home with the parents. (which sometimes happens, sometimes they have the parents take the projects right home and sometimes not and you don't find out until you are there for the event) Now, I am assuming that people believe this was a premeditated kidnapping on the part of Terri. I ask this question: If this was the case, premeditated kidnapping on the part of Terri Horman, and her plan was to "kidnap" Kyron from the school immediately after the science fair, how do you think she pictured doing this had the teacher said "OK kids, your parents should take the science projects home now (which often times teachers will do to free up room). Wasn't his science project giant? Did she picture she would be able to balance the baby, giant science project and kidnap Kyron out of the school unseen, unnoticed carrying a giant science project? Why would she have picked this unbelievably bizarre time to kidnap him. Potential witnesses everywhere? Extremely narrow window of time? Giant awkward science project in tow? Why?

Anonymous said...

Police now say Terri Horman was the last to see Kyron. Terri is the only one who stated he was seen after she left.

Maryann Gilli said...

Thanks for keeping up with Kyron's case, Peter. I pray that someone does (or is doing) right thing, and his family can finally get some answers about what happened to him. To the commenter above, it is my understanding that reports of Kyron being seen after Terri "dropped him off" were later discredited. Law enforcement says she was the last known person to see him alive. Her activities that day are unaccounted for, and her alibi does not match her bank and cell phone records. Not to mention she plans to plead the fifth if questioned under oath about her stepson's disappearance. There are plenty of dots connecting Terri to Kyron's vanishing.

john said...

I came to Statement Analysis well after this case hit the head lines.

Iv'e tried to do some research of Peters Analysis, and cannot find any that don't say this page does not exist. :-(

Anonymous said...

Which activities of hers were unaccounted for that day?

And again I ask, if premeditated which I am assuming people believe it was, why pick a time and circumstance that has everything working against (her) kidnapping plan?
--Tons of potential witnesses
--Anticipating that both hands will be full (in one hand baby, in the other enormous science project)
--Extremely narrow time frame
--The complication of getting him out of a large building where he would feel he is SUPPOSED TO BE, so coming up with a convincing ruse to get him to not do what he knows he is supposed to do (which would be show up to his first class).
For her to have been the kidnapper flies in the face of all logic, as it would mean she picked the worst possible scenario with every element working against her alleged plan as the time and place she would attempt to "kidnap" the stepson she lived with.

Anonymous said...

Another observation: Desiree seems like a very loving parent. Why was custody taken from her by Kaine? I am not suggesting that he is the kidnapper. What I am suggesting is that his comments about Terri may be greatly skewed.
Didn't he also cheat on Desiree?
If he has shown himself to be dishonest, why are his comments about Terri to be taken as gospel fact?

Anonymous said...

One other comment and then I'll shut up:
Was it the norm for Kaine to be working at home? Why were both parents waiting at the bus stop for Kyron the day that he didn't come home on the bus? As someone who has picked my son up from the bus stop every day for years and years I can tell you that it is EXTREMELY RARE to see BOTH parents waiting for their kid to get off the bus. In fact, the only time I have ever seen an instance of both parents waiting at the bus stop is ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL when bringing the kids to the bus stop waiting for the bus to come.

Anne said...

Desiree has health issues involving her kidneys.

If there were more witnesses, I think this would be solved already.

I think things can happen in a second, like possibly Terri losing her temper and leaving a mark she knew she couldn't explain or striking out and accidently killing Kyron.
I am not ruling out premeditation though as I can also think of her anger and resentment building and then there was a moment of opportunity.
If I remember right, in the beginning most people at the house after Kyron went missing reported Terri's behavior as off, and became suspicious after she made remarks that didn't fit with the situation of a missing child.
If Terri has nothing to hide I can see no reason for her not to work with investigators and she would have asked her friend to tell the truth and help with the investigation.
All of her behavior/words suggest she has something to hide.
I haven't gone back and watched the video of her at the press conference, but I remember saying to my daughter that Terri's behavior was odd, I remember her laying her head on Kaine's chest during the press conference and looking up at him in an odd way, as if everyone should be comforting her.

TrishapatK said...

@ Anonymous 12:26 PM; Desiree was sick while Kyron was a baby. I don't remember what the illness was but I remember thinking that it was a prolonged illness and Kaine had Kyron had him during that time. Kaine also started to live with Terri then, so when Desiree got better she allowed Kyron to continue to live with Kaine since he had become accustomed to it.

I think that Desiree and Terri had been friends at one point but my memory is particularly vague on that point.

Anon,

A science fair is absolutely a good time. It is chaotic and without vid, no one would be able to say for certain, who was where and When and with whom.

Also, my stepson would easily meet me back at the truck if I asked him too, unfortunately kids are innately trusting, especially at 7 and 8 years old.

rob said...

mj, you are thinking the same as me! She picked THAT day because it was chaotic, She wanted to be seen, put Kyrons stuff at his desk, and just tell him, meet me at the truck, we have to go pick something up, then I will bring you back. No one would have noticed.
From there she went where she had preplanned to get rid of him. Someone may have been there waiting to help her.
If she emailed the teacher later in the day, it was part of the cover.

dadgum said...

Jen said...

Hi Anon (questioning why Terri picked that day).

First you must remember that this 'kidnapping' situation (science fair) is perfect for the distraction Terri needs. She is his stepmother, so she can come and go with him all day...but if she doesn't have something like the science fair to buffer the time period which SHE is in charge of him, and when his teacher or the school is responsible for him then the blame will fall squarely on her. With the science fair she can say, 'I left him at school', but not in direct custody of the teacher. This gives her time to carry out her plan before he is missed and a plausible excuse for why this happened.

Imagine the scenario like this:

My understanding of the dynamic between Terri/Desiree/Kane is as follows...Terri was Desiree's friend...Terri scams on Desiree's husband Kane, they divorce and some time after Kyron is born Desiree falls ill (or relapses) and Kyron goes to live with Kane, and therefore Terri. Terri resents Kyron, (especially after she has her own baby with Kane), and see him as an outsider to their nuclear family, and the source of friction between herself and Kane. Terri frequently complains to friends about Kyron, his learning disability, etc.

Now lets say that Terri DID have a premeditated plan to get rid of Kyron, and view her actions that day in that light.

1. Terri takes Kyron to the science fair and takes a picture of him in front of his project. Terri socialized with other at the fair. This is to establish her alibi that she brought him to school that morning and he/she were seen there.

2. Terri leaves with Kyron (likely well before he needed to be to class) to give herself time to do whatever she has planned with Kyron. Then she goes into the drug store to purchase meds for her daughter, putting herself back on the map (alibi). However her cell phone pings show her traveling outside the area she claims to have traveled to get to the store, errands, etc.

3. Terri goes back home and posts a picture of Kyron at the Science fair and comments about it on Facebook, furthering her alibi.

4. Terri expects for the school to call fairly quickly and report to her that Kyron isn't in class but it doesn't happen. She emails the teacher to ask about picking up the project to initiate contact and in hopes that the teacher will then respond that Kyron isn't there. (Also bear in mind that Terri supposedly borrowed Kane's truck that morning to pick up the project, yet later in the day she is emailing to find out when she should do so.)

5. The whole school day passes without notification from the school, so Terri asks Kane to come to the bus stop with her to pick up Kyron, so he will be there to witness the revelation that Kyron is not on the bus, and hasn't been in school all day.

6. Terri passes the blame onto the school for not keeping up with Kyron, and for not notifying them that Kyron wasn't there. She feigns that she is devastated,(but not too devastated to go to the gym). When questions arise about her whereabouts/actions, she does not answer them, instead hiring an attorney and going into hiding. Even losing custody/visitation with her OWN baby daughter by refusing to do so. I cant imagine any scenario where an 'innocent' woman would choose to lose custody of her own child to avoid answering questions about her 'innocent' actions the day her stepson went missing.

Anonymous said...

Jen--I appreciate your response as it was well thought out and insightful.

The 1st part about Terri being jealous of Kyron, just wanting him to go away so she can just have the nuclear family with Kaine and their baby: You know what makes me doubt that? She would have had to be very fixated on Kaine to have wanted to just be alone with him and their baby. I am fuzzy on the details but what makes me doubt that was hadn't she already moved on to one of his friends within weeks--sexting him, etc? Certainly this does not indicate a nice person, but it does indicate someone who is not that attached to Kaine, imo, literally she seemed more than happy to jump into something with his friend.
Your points about why she would choose the science fair as the time to kidnap are convincing and well thought out even why Kaine would have been at the busstop with her. This case is tough. You ever seen one of those drawings of a 3-dimensional square--one way you look it it looks a certain way then you focus in a little more it looks different but which is true? That's how I feel about this. The way you put it would seem to make sense she would pick that time to kidnap him. If so, her scheming would be very diabolical and sophisticated. She would have committed what seems to be an unsolvable crime right under people's noses. Looked at another way, I see certain things that would make it unlikely a family member would choose that time to kidnap, but your points hold up well.

~mj said...

Excellent point about an innocent mother giving up custody or even visitations with her natural born baby, all because she chooses to plea the 5th in her divorce proceedings. It isn't like she lost custody because she got screwed. She lost it because she won't talk in court...at all.

Let us not forget about the reason Kaine was able to get a restraining order from her having contact with their baby to begin with...murder-for-hire plot!

This woman has something to hide, what that is exactly remains to be seen.

Anonymous said...

can someone propose how the kidnapping by Terri's hands would have occurred?

I think the original plan at the science fair and the reason that Kyron's dad's truck was used, was to transport Kyron's large project display to and from school. I thought Kyron was seen near an exit? Perhaps he was attempting to follow through on the plan to place the project into the truck?

Anonymous said...

However, Kaine says that Terri took his truck to the school that morning to make it easier for her to bring Kyron's science project home.

What if...Terri went to get the truck...Kyron ran outside to explain that the project was going to remain in the school, and was accidently hit by the truck?

"For her to have been the kidnapper flies in the face of all logic"

There is nothing logical about the kidnapping and murder of a 7 year old.

" PORTLAND, Ore. - Long before the alleged murder-for-hire plot and sexting affairs, it seems Terri Moulton Horman knew suspicions settled on her, according to e-mails written by Horman and obtained by KATU News.
“They are blaming me in the blogs. I just want to scream,” she wrote in one e-mail to a KATU News source the day after her stepson, Kyron Horman vanished from Skyline School during a science fair. Investigators say Terri Horman was the last person to see Kyron.

“The teacher thought I said I was going to take Kyron with Kitty for a doctor’s appt.,” she wrote on June 5, 2010. “I said I was going to look at other exhibits - how do you mess that up? His coat and backpack were still at school. I left the school at 9 and he was seen with a man ‘chaperone’ and 2 girls after I left. There were no men on the chaperone list. That and it was highly chaotic - had to been 300 people running around - no coordination ...”

The reference to her daughter’s doctor visit not mentioned again in a follow-up e-mail sent later that day:

"I didn't just drop him off, I spent time with him, took pictures and he was in safe hands I thought as I watched him walk down the hall.

“Kids saw him after I left. Teacher put him as absent at 10am. Someplace between 9-10 is when we think it happened.

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am. I went to another FM looking for meds for Kitty they didn't have at the first FM. Then I was trying to get Kitty to sleep in the truck for a few minutes, but no go, so off to the gym at 11:20. Out at 12:20. Home at 12:45. Kaine home at 2. Bus at 3:30. That was my day - they keep asking me. Now on my 5th interview with them ..."

Horman went on to talk about Kyron’s recent behavior.

"The past 2 weeks he's been acting really weird. Staring off into space. Can't remember anything. Walks into the room and then back out, stopping to stare and then move on. The doc thinks that he is having mini seizures and I made an appt on Thursday for next Friday to have him checked out."

That contradicts what multiple sources have told KATU News. In the days before the science fair, Terri informed Kyron’s teacher he had the appointment that day, June 4, which is why no one expected he would be in class and was marked absent."

The way I recall the Terri Horman Kaine Horman "get together" was that Desiree, married to Kaine, had to go to Canada to get special treatment of some kind for her disease.

While she was gone, friend Terri latched on to Kaine and they had an ongoing affair while Desiree was in Canada.

I don't think Kaine deserves to have his son missing, but he is reprehensible in his actions during his ill wife was undergoing treatment.

Friends of Kaine said Terri wouldn't allow Kane out of his room after he got home from school.

One time someone came over to visit and Terri told Kyron to come out while the visitor was there.

"You mean come out of my room?" Kyrpn asked.

Terri is a sociopath. And Kaine? IMO, a failure as husband to Desiree and father to Kyron.

The mothers I know, all the ones worth the title, would NOT stand for it. They'd fight, fight and not stop until they could see their child.

And that's why I believe that Terri is guilty.

"Another observation: Desiree seems like a very loving parent. Why was custody taken from her by Kaine?"

It could be like 70 percent of women who lose custody, when a man fights. A lot of the times courts give custody to the man, because he makes more money and it means that the child will not be on welfare.

Most men do not fight for custody, but when they do, they normally have a better paying job, and so the courts choose to give custody to the man.

I only know this because my sister who did not go to college, is a great mom..but she married a man with extreme wealth. The judge said he did not find either parent as better, but felt the 3 kids would be financially better with her ex-husband. That peeked my interest when I read in most states if a man fights custody, an average of 70 percent will win based on wages alone.

It seems Kaine, with Terri's help took care of Kyron while Desiree was in Canada. When D came back, she was deep in debt and lived with her parents, with Kaine retaining primary custody. It doesn't indicate they ever went to court over custody.

Perhaps I did not explain it correctly, during the 1990's...it was 70 percent of MEN who fought for custody of their kids( and the man was the bread winner).... However most men did not fight for custody they would choose to pay child support, and not have custody.

The judge who ruled on my sisters case said it was to keep welfare down. That if she, who had only been a wife/mom (no jobs outside of home, or school) would get custody of her kids, she would have to get welfare or depend on child support, where as the father who was very wealthy, worth about 3M at the time, could have the kids and never depend on the state.
Hence, some great moms really can lose custody without being charged as abusive or neglectful etc...

But, we all know schools plan activities like that at the end of classes every year... plays, trips, parties, field days, etc... so she could've used any activity as a backdrop for her plans.

She maybe waited for the right event, or having the science fair notice gave her the idea.

The homework assignment came a month before the IB expo.  This expo is part of the international baccalaureate curriculum, and as such could have been predicted years in advance.

@ Buckley 7:30.

My attempt at this statement.

I LEFT the school at 9 and he was seen with a MAN ‘chaperone’ and 2 girls after I LEFT.

MAN=No description of the "Man", who was it that seen him.?

2 Girls=No description of the 2 girls, who seen him with the girls.

LEFT x2 =
There are two things that receive the color coding blue in the SCAN technique. These two areas are considered the most sensitive portions of speech.

1. The reason why. "So, since, therefore, because, to..." and so on, as it shows a need to explain why, rather than simply report what happened.

2. The leaving of a place. "Left." When the word "left" is used as a connecting verb between places, it indicates missing information. The subject, himself, is back at the place of "leaving" or "departing" in his mind, even while attempting to move the statement forward. This is a very strong indicator that the subject is thinking of what happened at the point of leaving, but is deliberately withholding the information.

Both of these sensitivity indicators are given the color blue: the highest level of sensitivity in speech. The color blue helps us identify the most critical portion of the story. If there is more than one blue near another, it is called a "cluster of blues", and if there are three 'blues' close together, we are looking at the possible answer to the puzzle of the case. (PH)

"I DIDN'T JUST DROP HIM OFF, I spent time with him, took pictures and HE WAS IN SAFE HANDS I thought as I watched him WALK down the hall.

DIDN'T= We note anything said in the negative as sensitive.

I DIDN'T JUST DROP HIM OFF=For some reason this sticks out to me,and i cant explain why?

"HE WAS IN SAFE HANDS"=Why does she feel the need to tell us he was in safe hands. We would assume without saying it,that all children are in safe hands when at school..

WALK= When body posture enters a statement it is a sign of increased tension.

“Kids saw him after I LEFT. Teacher put him as absent at 10am. Someplace between 9-10 is when we think it happened.

I LEFT=Here again she has the need to tell us that she LEFT,is this alibi building?

"SOMEPLACE BETWEEN 9-10 IS WHEN WE THINK IT HAPPENED".

WE=Who is the we she mentions?

WHEN WE THINK IT HAPPENED"=This is passive language, what is it that they THINK happened?,and why cant she bring herself to say that he went missing,or taken by someone.

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am.

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am"

I don't drive or know the geography of were she says she went. She said she left at 9:00,drove 7 miles bought what she needed to buy and checked out at 9:12am.Is this possible to achieve in just 12 minute's.?Was she captured on cctv at the store?

"so off to the gym at 11:20"

"SO"= When there is a need to explain we note as highly sensitive.

"So off to the gym at 11:20"=Dropped pronoun, why isn't she committed to this part of her statement?.

Out at 12:20. Home at 12:45. Kaine home at 2. Bus at 3:30. That was my day - they keep asking me. Now on my 5th interview with them ..."

"Out at 12:20"=Dropped pronoun, again not committed to this part of her events of the day?

"Home at 12:45. Kaine home at 2. Bus at 3:30."=Here we have (three)dropped pronouns in a row.Again why the non committal?

Plus what happened between 12:45 and 2,and between 2 and the getting the bus at 3:30.?

"The past 2 weeks he's been acting REALLY weird.STARING OFF INTO SPACE SPACE. CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING. WALKS into the room and then back out, stopping to stare and then MOVE ON"

REALLY=This is a unnecessary word, the statement would read the same without it,it is also used to convince.

"STARING OFF INTO SPACE. CAN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING WALKS INTO THE ROOM"= 3 dropped pronouns in a row,why again the lack of commitment?

"MOVE ON"=Body posture,increase in tension.

IMO.There are many parts of this statement that lack conviction, and sensitivities that i would persue more.

IMO.

Hi Anon 4:19

I don't see Terri's actions as jealously, or really related to wanting Kane to herself, but rather sociopathy. In her sick mind everything would be perfect if only she didn't have to deal with Desiree's kid. The kid who stares off into space, walks into rooms and then back out, and who sucks up her time. Now she has her own perfect baby with Kane, and they could be a perfect family if not for Desiree's defective kid. (her opinion, not mine)

She see's everything as Kyron's fault and her narcissism feeds her belief that he is the problem. (Because if Kyron isn't the problem, then she may have to admit she got exactly what she deserves in Kane). Its much easier to blame Kyron (and in turn Desiree) for their problems than to acknowledge that her relationship with Kane is built on deceit, philandering and selfishness, and therefore doomed to fail. If only she hadn't been saddled with Desiree's kid, things would have worked out different for them..and so on.

On a side note (about my post above):

I have witnessed this same sick thinking by a friend toward her step daughter. She pursued a relationship with a married man and got pregnant by him. He seperated from his wife, who at the time kept full custody of the 7yo daughter they shared.

After my friends baby was born, the ex wife sent his daughter to live with them during the week so she could attend a better school. At which point everything this little girl did, from what she wore, what she ate, how loud she watched the TV, her hour of nightly homework, her hygiene, her intelligence, her 'attitude...was wrong in my friends eyes. When she told me about plans to leave unless he sent his daughter away, (they could barely be in the same room without fighting) I called her out, and asked her if she realized how ridiculous it was to assign ALL of their baggage and issues to this 7yo, after it was her who persued the drama of stealing another woman's husband.

She argued with me that the girls mom was bipolar, and 'the reason she acts the way she does'..removing the responsibility for their failing relationship from either of them, and assigning it to the ex-wife & her daughter. I must have struck a nerve because the only contact we have now is liking each others FB pics, lol!

John, the dropped pronouns are because she can't commit to her accounting of her time because her cell pinged outside of her claimed travels. The only proof she has is the FM receipt (yes, it was possible for her to get there and check out by 9:12),the gym and when she was home by (because she posted on FB). She even stopped to chat with someone she knew at FM, and took the time to juggle a sick baby, and show this person Kyrons science fair photos. (Which this person stated was odd because they weren't that close)

She proceeded to post comments on news outlets under an assumed name, claiming it wasn't her. Also, she and DeeDee (and other friends) bought disposable phones to communicate on.

She wreaks of deception.

“I said I was going to look at other exhibits - how do *you* mess that up?"
She can't bring herself to say the teacher messed it up.

"His coat and backpack were still at school. I left the school at 9 and *he was seen with a man ‘chaperone’*

I'd expect male chaperone- an adjective and a noun. But she gives us two nouns and places chaperone in quotation marks weakening it- as if someone else called the unidentified man a chaperone. But she doesn't identify who said it. She later points out there were no male chaperones.

"and 2 girls after I left. There were no men on the chaperone list. *That* and it was *highly* chaotic - had to been *3*00 people running around - no coordination ...”

She tells a story that blames others (without actually saying the words the school is at fault). What she reports having seen is clear and orderly (seen with man and 2 girls; Kyron walking down the hall; didn't just drop him. comfortable looking at other exhibits) but when it comes to the unnamed incident, things are chaotic and unexpected.

Note she doesn't say "Mrs. So and so" or his teacher. Just "teacher." "it happened" already noted.

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am."
Not "I was at..." but I have receipt. Order is important. Receipt before location.

"I went to another FM looking for meds for Kitty they didn't have at the first FM.

Never tells us they had "meds" at second store, no receipt.
John questions afternoon time, I question morning: "9:12...another FM... K sleep for a few minutes...so 11:20." That's where I see the most deception.

Regarding the Daniel Pelka, the grandmother (mother's mom) who is polish made a statement which was translated into english.

What sttod out particularly to me was the number of times she said the mother was normal, had a normal upbringing.

The word normal was repeated multiple times making it sensitive.

As we know when someone uses the word normal in a statement, like in stories, we know it was anything but normal.

What then, is the grandmother trying to convince us of and who is she actually trying to convince?

Mom was a junkie prostutute, dad was a junkie with a history of violence on the run from Polish LE.

These both should be treated the way they treated Daniel. People like these deserve a whole life sentence since we can't execute the barstards

Good analysis Buckley...you raise some good points. As you and John both point out there is a lot of passivity in her language. She writes as if she wants to portray an adamant assertion of where she was, and what 'her day was', but at each important topic she is soft...giving little or no details.

What did the 'man' chaperone look like, how tall, what color was his hair, what was he wearing, etc? Who were the two 'girls'...if she doesn't know them by name it should be easy enough to find out, especially in a desperate search for a missing boy. Which teacher did she mention kitty doctor apt, she doesn't say it was Kyron's teacher, Mrs. xxx.

What meds did she need for kitty that they supposedly didn't have at the first location...that should be easy to verify. What did she buy to get a receipt at the first location (could be very revealing depending on if it was something trivial like only a drink or gum, to get a receipt for something). As you pointed out she is focused on the receipt.

Most significant to me is the three 'I left' statements that John pointed out. It's a strange way to tell a progressive story, stating 'I left" three different times. After stating it the first time, anything else she has to say about events afterward should read, 'after I was gone', or something similar.

From Buckley 5:35

"Asked by PEOPLE in an exclusive new interview whether she thinks stepmom Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance, Spicher, 43, says, "I just really don't. In my heart, I really don't. In all of these years [as her friend], I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe that she is capable or motivated in any way to do something like this."

Spicher says she's told police the same thing. "They wanted me to tell them that Terri did it or that Terri knew something," she says. "I told them everything that I knew, over and over again. But I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear."

"Asked by PEOPLE in an exclusive new interview whether she thinks stepmom Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance, Spicher, 43, says, "I just really don't. In my heart, I really don't.

"I just really don't"

What is said in the negative we take note.

There is no conviction in this answer. The shortest sentence is always the best, and the strongest.

"Just" and "really" are unnecessary words and weaken her answer.

A better response would have been.

"I don't"

"In my heart, I really don't"

Here again we have something said in the negative.

"In my heart"

In my heart" weakens it even further, as it is only where she believes, in her heart, and not in her head. Others, in their "hearts" will "believe" differently. It is also an indication that she "beleives" differently in her head, or intellect.

"In my heart i really dont"

Really is an unnecessary word, and weakens it further.

In all of these years [as her friend], I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe that she is capable or motivated in any way to do something like this."

"I have not seen anything"

Here we have a double negative making this part of her answer very sensitive.

"To do something like this."

That is close, and this is near. Why would she want to place herself close to the allegations?

Spicher says she's told police the same thing. "They wanted me to tell them that Terri did it or that Terri knew something," she says. "I told them everything that I knew, over and over again. But I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear."

"They wanted me to tell them that Terri DID IT or that Terri knew something,"

Is this a embedded admission from Spicher that Terri was involved.?

"But I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear."

This is a strange thing to say. What is it that they wanted to hear?.Is she holding back information?

Was Terri seen at the Beaverton Fred Meyer?

Anonymous said...

Sorry I'm just mow catching up on this thread. The thing is, assuming this kidnapping was premeditated by Terri, how would Terri have thought she would carry out the kidnapping if a teacher had announced "parents upon leaving you need to bring the science projects home". In her imaginings, would this have presented a problem to her?
Also, as it turns out it seems noone saw Terri leave, but assuming the kidnapping was premeditated, would Terri not have considered that she may very well have ended up being seen leaving by any number of people? Perhaps even seen by people who happened to be looking out the school window?
If Terri did this crime, Terri pulled off a diabolical "perfect crime" right under everyone's noses. One thing to consider though, is that in terms of premeditation, it was not the perfect time or place. She had to have known it was LIKELY someone would have seen her leaving or Kyron leaving or Kyron getting into her truck, etc.

Jen said...

Hi Anon 5:34

I believe Terri told Kyron to meet her at the truck, or told him come to help her carry/bring something, etc..to the truck. Then once out there she could time it to where nobody was around to see her either get him in the truck, or pass him off to someone.

It is possible that visitor parking during an event like the science fair was far enough away from the front of the school that nobody could see where she parked, and people were roaming around looking at the projects, so I think it would be pretty easy for nobody to notice something as mundane as a mother and her step-son walking to their car. Plus, even if she had been caught red handed all she had to do was say they went to the truck before she left for whatever reason (to get him ice cream money, his jacket, etc), and she walked him back in. She just got lucky in the fact that nobody noticed.

Terri has made many contradicting statements about june 4th, it seems like enough evidence to charge her with his abduction.

Anonymous said...

Here are my thoughts: Since WHOEVER did this crime would have had to be worried VERY STRONGLY about being seen leaving the school as well as Kyron being seen leaving the school there is a big likelihood the perp left the school through an exit where they would be least visible leaving. This could be a clue. Find out how accessible were the "least visible" exits? Who would have had access to them? Were they alarmed if opened from the inside? Who would have been able to turn alarms off, etc,?
AND the million dollar question still remains Was Kaine usually home from work that early (2pm)? Because if it was unusual for him to come home that early that is awfully suspicious.

Anonymous said...

Anon said Because if it was unusual for him to come home that early that is awfully suspicious.

Whoever commit the abduction probably wanted Kaine to discover Kyron was absent all day,,,Whoever abducted Kyron wanted Kaine at the bus stop to see his panic and pain

Anonymous said...

AND the million dollar question still remains Different question...What did the Oregon detective hear or see that kept him literally living at the Hormons home (with Terri and Kaine) in the days and weeks following Kyrons disappearance? He is a valuable and unique witness!

Anonymous said...

Nobody's knows why he came home early? Hmmm

This case is real strange. If Terri did this crime (maybe she did) pulling off this "crime of the century" it's hard to fathom her prposing murder for hire by a gardener a few months before.
It seems they need a clue: Ideas: How did the perp exit the school? Why and how exactly did Terry end up w the white truck (she wanted it, Kaine suggested she take it, etc). Because if Kaine suggested she take it, that would be a big clue right there. Have to read more about the case.
And yes if detective was at the house for weeks he prob knows something.

It's not a double negative!

Helenstreet said...

Terri knew the routines and setup of Skyline School because she had volunteered in Kyron's classroom, and she was a substitute teacher which gave her a great deal of familiarity with school routines. Terri got Kyron out of the school just before Kyron's class was to meet in the classroom, (probably just after 8:45 am), split up into groups, and view the science fair projects. I am sure that the children's schedule for that day was already known to the parents which explains why Terri would not have been expected to take the science fair project with her when she left that morning while the science fair was still in progress. It was also expected that Kyron would be gone because of the confusion Terri created over the alleged doctor's visit. The time that Terri either left with Kyron, or had him meet her at the truck parked on the access road was perfect because the school buses were arriving on the other side of the building at their normally scheduled time which provided a distraction, and the children were being herded into the classrooms to form their groups before the bell rang at 9:00 am which would be distracting. I have been to Skyline School, and if you remember the photos law enforcement showed of where the white truck was possibly seen parked on the access road, it all makes sense. The school sits up high, and the access road--running alongside the soccer field--is below the immediate school grounds. There is a paved walkway that runs in front of the side of the school where the door is that Kyron and Terri would have exited out of; that would have been the closest exit from Kyron's classroom--all you do is walk briefly down the hallway, down the flight of stairs, and out the door. The school office is on the other side of the building, and the gymnasium is on the other side as well. After walking out the door, there are concrete stairs that lead directly to the access road; from that point nobody from the school grounds could see a person walking down the access road unless they happen to be standing in the front of the playground and make a point of looking over the edge. I was holding the hand of my three year old, my seven year old was walking with me, and I was carring my big-for-his-age fifteen month old toddler, and it took me two minuted to walk to my van parked on the access road. Imagine the Horman truck backed into the access road from Skyline Drive, with it's covered truck bed, and a timid, obedient, seven year old Kyron.
