Chad Evans Football Party

Chad Evans avoided using Kassidy's name consistently throughout his interview.  That she was a "girl" rather than a boy,  was a source of irritation to him, and he did not want her to be in his life.

His hatred of her was evident in his own language just as it was seen in the severity of injuries he inflicted upon her.

Police say he punched, kicked and stomped her to the point of being unresponsive, and the next day, while suffering from internal bleeding, he brought her to the babysitter (aunt's boyfriend) where she was unresponsive and died shortly after he attempted to revive her.  She had been brought there, rather than the daycare, due to the bruises all over her face, bruises from being squeezed, and from being hit (Evans said a whiffle ball did it from his 3 year old; something police dispute).

This is the fourth interview with Amanda Bortner, Kassidy's mother, who, among other things, failed to protect Kassidy from the brutal beatings and torture inflicted upon her by Chad Evans.

Note her reaction to the news that on the Sunday after her child's death, Chad Evans had a football party.

My opinion is that termination of reproductive rights should have been part of the mother's release agreement.

With those adults around her, this little girl had no chance.
They all new what was going on. The mother knew, the babysitter knew too. She needed to be taken to a hospital, the babysitter just put her in front of the TV.
The mother not only failed to protect her, but she watched and let her daughter to be beaten probably on a daily basis. She saw it, heard it, and all she did agains it she was angry, and yelled at him for. I want to call her a name now, but I will resist the temptation. She stated, he is the most important person in her life. Anyone who reads the link, can tell, her daughter was not important enough for her, period. Her death did not shake her enough either.
Probably she was abused by him too, but that is still no excuse for a woman, for an adult to cooperate and allow any form of child abuse.
She still stayed with him, and slept with him according to this report, even after he killed her daugther.
Poor little girl, she must have gone through hell for the last months of her life.
I have to say,the mother is equally responsible, if not more.

Why can this happen http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2008/11/jury_finds_jason_strickland_gu.html But I'm not seeing any other being found guilty of letting abuse happy. This so called mom should be in prison too. There is no way in h*ll I would let any man, father, boyfriend.. ANYONE hurt my babies like that. I would end up in jail.

From PDF - two officers and Amanda
Date 11/16/2000
One week post Kassidy's slow murder, pronounced deceased.

Amanda passive aggressive, she is with Chad, they remain together, she feeling he needs her, her duty to watch over him... he needs me.
As the officers have papers, need Amanda to sign them, Kassidy's body ready for the funeral home.

Did this really have to be said, evidently yes.

Det. Angela Blodgett, MSP: ACB

Kassidy's internal bleeding.
ACB to Amanda Bortner

ACB: I mean, this is punched, kicked, stomped in the stomach causes these type of injuries. Her head is just, they, it took them hours and hours to count her bruises. This is, I mean, that was, probably, your daughter was the most beaten child I have seen so far, in seven years.

AB: Oh, my god.
-
Officers asking Amanda to stand up for Kassidy, yes they have to ask her.

ACB: Nobody did anything for Kassidy when she was alive. Everybody and I know that you don't want to hear it, but you just stood there and you let her just get beaten.

Her life sucked. It really did for a year and a half year old. She had a shixxty last six months.

Um, I am not going to, I don't care if she is "dead", now, we're still working for her.

And although we couldn't save her, were going to make sure that, at the least..

Somebody stands up to what they did

AB: um hmm

ACB: Owns up to it, and doesn't this make sense to you?

AB: um hmm
---
This poor excuse of a mother sitting here with these two officers who witnessed Kassidy's limp rag beaten body, AB had to be coaxed to " care" about Kassidy. They to reiterate to her, hey guess what, you are her mother, you failed her in life, do you get it?, you continue to support Chad, not Kassidy, no porch light.

They to gently (?) remind her, Kassidy is the victim, as SHE is worrying about " Chad" who is free walking, breathing and yes celebrated the night of, finally the lil bitch is dead. Let's Partay.
--
Amanda Bortner, her statements in this interview, *bang head on brick wall, she clearly had her mind made up, prior to this interview, her 100 percent remained dedicated to Chad Evans. Kassidy who?

Shouldnt be allowed so many uncareing adults .

Vita, the most emotion she can drum up for Kassidy is "um, hum."

ACB "I don't know how you can be sleeping with someone that killed your child"
AB "Um, hum"

No porch light, nothing upstairs, nothing inside, either. A pathetic excuse for a mother.

I agree Lis

Reading on Kassidy, the human being, her stats, she weighed 22lbs and was 2 feet and some inches, she to be tossed like a salad for 5 months. No one to protect her.

Her mother to state in the interview of Kassidy's bottom, that it was covered, black and blue, bruised. Black and Blue is fresh not old. She to say something about she has poor eyesight without her glasses. You cannot make this sheep dip up.

How big could Kassidy's bottom be? the size of tiny. Her bottom being struck would be her internal organs taking the brunt as well.

This not to register in mothers eyes, ears, nada. Zip. She seeing it with her own eyes, could not find this as extreme abuse inflicted, she washed it out of her mind on a daily basis. Kassidy dying slowly in front of her.

Officer, How long have you two been together, a couple of months?

AB: Not even that long, Six months, almost.

ALMOST? did she believe that no one was going to be charged, arrested for Kassidy's torture, loss of life? they were going to be free to move on, have their happy little petty life together. Sounds like it.

Had she said in response, there is NO us together, not any more, she negates the content of the questions being asked of her. Page 14 of 18 this is.

The officers to ask her, what she is going to do, use her brain for once, to understand what happened, this axxhat you allowed in killed your daughter as you watched, enabled him.

The officer says to her just prior, YOU have have a mind of your own.

No, she is not single minded, zero objectivity in this interview. Her concerns are the welfare state of Chad, not Kassidy. Her to hear rumors that the poor SOB had threatened to off himself, the night before, she wanting to speak to him to see if he was " going to be okay" as it was his normal to um use idle threats.

He was just kidding when he said, he wished Kassidy dead. After how many months of blunt force blows? AB: he was kidding.

Yah, that's something you take lightly, as a mom, by a fool you barely know. His end result said, of what is his wish. Her existence to cease. Ding Ding Ding Amanda, big Red Truck.

" but I love him, but he loves me"

Too bad he didn't off himself, would have saved the tax payors some coin. As he isn't worth the air he breathes. She and He both, are worthless. Make me vomit.

Reading that transcript made me want to hurl. I am curious whether this POS mother has had any children since Kassidy. I hope to God neither she nor Evans have had more offspring.

This is such a sad case. I can't believe the Jeff guy and Amanda's sister never did anything either? She got left there each day and no one did anything. They all deserve to rot in hell. Poor baby.

Not that this case can get sadder, but the mother has a new baby. It was in an attachment to a prior post and you can see so by googling the mothers name.

The overall impression I got from the Amanda Bortner interview is that she is laboring under a delusion that Chad isn't responsible for the torture beating death of the baby. She also seems to have a below average IQ. She's devoid of emotion, especially outrage normal mothers would have at their baby being stomped to death! She comes off as completely and totally passive. Passively observing the outrageous abuse that Chad did right in front of her.

It makes me sick.

Its telling the words "oh my God" come out of her mouth about a football party, but the torture murder of her daughter elicit at most an "um hum".

Both human stains project jealousy onto a 21 mo. old.

If it were New Years, it would have been a New Year's party. You know, just a few friends over with the TV on.

Did you watch the Ball Drop?

A 'lil bit.

Why can't we pass a law that if you kill a child, molest a child, beat a child, abuse in any way, a helpless child, you MUST be castrated or give up your uterus?

It makes perfect sense to me.

Does the law care? NO!! Do judges care? NO!!

Why doesn't anyone care about the little ones, our future?

Lara Martinez said...

Lemon, I totally agree--the projection onto that little baby was nauseating: "she's a bitch;" "jealous"

Can you believe this was directed at an 18 month old???? That is a BABY!! This case has made me so angry I'm considering writing Chad a letter. His website is absurd--it's there to proclaim his "innocence" and discuss his "wrongful conviction" but all the documents are DAMNING of him! If he does have supporters, I think they are as evil as he is.

Chad Evans often called Kassidy "retarded" and a "retard", in addition to calling her a "bitch." Evans' own 3 year old son repeated the names his father called Kassidy in a police interview with a child therapist. His website is beyond disgusting. He gushes about how much he loved Kassidy and how much he misses her. I had to stop reading the site because I was getting so nauseated.

In Amanda Bortner’s 3rd interview (pages 9-10) by Det. Angela Blodgett, the Maine State Police detective said: “I think he's glad she's gone. Had a little football party, right? Did you know that Sunday, was it Sunday? Yeah, Sunday afternoon, he had a big party with beer, they're dancing and jumping on
the trampoline and .. ,” Amanda responded, “No, I don't think so,” and Blodgett insisted, “Yeah. During the football games.”
Amanda asked, “At his house?” and Blodgett said, “Yup. In Rochester.” New Hampshire State Police Sergeant James White concurred, “Hum, hum.”
Amanda responded appropriately, “Oh, my God.”

The problem with this exchange is that the so-called “football party” never occurred. I wrote at pages 264-265 in the book, EYE CONTACT - The Mysterious Death of Kassidy Bortner and the Wrongful Convictions of Chad Evans and Amanda Bortner, the following:

Blodgett didn't reveal her source for that information, but it was false. In fact, Chad and his family were at Bruce's and Jessica's in the late afternoon, until they drove to Gray to pick up Amanda after her Sunday evening interview with Angela Blodgett. This allegation of glee at Kassidy's loss must have seemed odd to Sgt. Jim White, as his only previous interview in the case was the telephone interview with Stephanie Chick who told him that Chad was crying and agonizing over Kassidy's loss.
Earlier on Sunday, Chad and his family were at his house. In his interview on Wednesday, the day before Amanda's fourth and current interview, Bruce had been confronted by Jeff Linscott with the same accusation, "...Sunday when you, when you took the trip to... Maine and ... picked up Amanda... outside the barracks there,,, Were you over at Chad's house earlier that day? Early in the afternoon... who's all over there anyway?" and Bruce said, "Me, him [Chad], his dad, and ... his brother-in-law." Linscott asked Bruce, "Bounced on the trampoline and stuff?" and when Bruce said, "No," Linscott asked again, "Didn't play on the trampoline?" Bruce said, "No.. the primary need for going there... we went earlier...we found out the dog leash was broken... His mother and dad went and bought a new chain and... I walked the dog outside and stuff." Linscott pressed further, "So it was not like a big, ah, big, big party that day? Big beer drinking, football watching party or anything going on?" Bruce said, "No....Chad... sad about this whole thing... we left.. around the early afternoon. The Patriots game wasn't even over yet." (Bruce interview, p. 1141)
A day after Bruce's interview, Blodgett was telling Amanda the same false story about a big party at Chad's house on Sunday. It seemed that the police had shared the information that confirmed their theories of the case, but didn't share the information that didn't support those theories. The source for this story about the alleged party was never identified. Jeff also knew about the alleged party and described his understanding in his interview on Thursday afternoon, November 16.
Amanda again believed the police. This time, the false story she believed was about the alleged party. After gasping, "Oh my God," to the story about the alleged party at Chad's Amanda said, "I'm not going there anymore," and that she would stay with her friend, Melissa Chick. (p. 1011)

I am now reading this book for the 1t time & in the middle of it and it is really upsetting me that I have had nightmares in the past 2 nights.
I've already come to a parital conclusion that Jeff should be the one being investigated and not Chad. Also, the mother, even though young at the time is a pitiful human being. This little baby falls out of a truck & she doesn't rush her to hospital?
Totally amazes me how some humans are so dense.
I'm glad I live in Canada where the police are not so aggressive & trying to be heros just because they wear the suit.
