Heather Elvis: Sidney Moorer's 2011 Arrest

We continue to highlight the frustrating case of missing young woman, Heather Elvis.

She was reportedly in contact with Sidney Moorer, who's wife published a scathing post against Heather, minimizing her husband's infidelity.

He has an arrest record from 2011.  If what is alleged is true, it would classify Moorer as a bully.  However, the article does not use actual quotes, therefore we are unable to verify the veracity.

We have yet to see local media interviewer Sidney Moorer, which would allow him to address the issue of Heather's involvement.

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) After a dispute over a property line that looked like a scene out of a Hollywood movie, a senior citizen and two others were jailed on assault charges Monday.
According to a police report from the Horry County Police Department, officers responded to the 8700 block of Highway 814 in the Myrtle Beach area in reference to an assault. When they arrived, they found Edward Miller, 57, William Caison, 66, and Sidney Moorer, 35, all of Myrtle Beach, engaged in a verbal argument.
Officers then separated the three and told them to stay away from each other as they tried to figure out what happened.
Miller told police he went over to the property line to "investigate why [Caison] marked off the property line." He claims Caison then attacked him.
Caison told officers Miller attacked him first by grabbing Caison around the throat.
Moorer stated he pulled Miller off of Caison, however, Miller told police that Moorer actually held him down as Caison kicked him in the side.
All three told police verbal threats had been made about them committing great bodily harm to each other. Additionally, another occupant of Miller's home stated he feared for his life due to threats he had received.
The three were then arrested for assault and battery in the third degree and were released from jail on a $500  bond.
Officers determined the situation to be related to an ongoing argument about the property lines.

Off topic. Here is the article about my friend who was murdered. st to you. I am trying to get the affidavits. It is highhly doubtful that Glen, my friend, was drunk. He didn't drink much and I have never seen him drink while he was working. I douubt that law enforcement believes that story, therefore the arrest for first degree murder. I have not included some of the portions related to community reaction for brevity. You can find the full article on the Odessa American website.

Affidavit highlights evidence in Terlingua murder case

Authorities cite blunt force trauma as cause of death

BY NATHANIEL MILLER

On the last night Glenn Felts was alive, he and Tony Flint were leaving the well-known La Kiva bar and restaurant located in Terlingua together after it had closed up for the night, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Around midnight Tuesday night, Flint, 37, was helping Felts, 50, leave the business because, according to the affidavit, both men were “highly intoxicated.” Felts is the owner of La Kiva and, according to Big Bend Now, Flint is a river guide for an unspecified company.

Around 8 a.m. that morning, an unidentified employee who worked at the bar came in to start up the barbecue pit and get the food cooking for the day, Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said. The employee saw the lights to the bar were still on with the music playing and went to Felts’ house, located on the property, to inform him of the issue, Dodson continued.

While walking to his house, the employee saw a body in the parking lot, but thought nothing of it because “it’s a bar” and saw people passed out all the time and the employee figured it was someone sleeping, the sheriff continued, adding the sight of someone passed out on the premises is common.

However, when the employee got to Felts’ residence, Dodson said she noticed Felts’ bed had not been slept in.

“That’s when she realized it (the body) was him,” Dodson said.

On Wednesday, law enforcement officials charged Flint with murder in connection to Felts’ death. Flint was being held Wednesday at the Brewster County Sheriff’s Department on a $200,000 bond. Rod Ponton, the 83rd District Attorney, said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

During the investigation Tuesday, Flint told officials him and Felts fell after leaving the bar, with Felts injuring his face and fists in the process, the affidavit stated. After the fall, Flint told officials he drug Felts near some rocks, then proceeded to drive back to his residence while “blacked out” and went to sleep, the affidavit stated.

However, Flint reportedly lied to Brewster County investigators about what he was wearing at the time of the incident, with many witness at the bar saying Flint was wearing a red beanie, the affidavit stated. Law enforcement officials reported finding a red beanie in an area where Felts was found.

During their investigation, law enforcement officials also found an area where an “obvious altercation” had happened and noted that Flint had bruises to the left side of his face and his right hand, the affidavit stated.

When law enforcement officials searched Flints’ residence, they reported finding boots and clothing that had blood on them, the affidavit stated.

Ponton said he could not comment on the case, and said his office would do everything to make sure they had all the information in the case.

“Our office will work hard to prosecute the person who is responsible,” Ponton said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Dodson said the bar was no longer a crime scene has been given back to Felts’ family.

OT. A post taken from Fb page set up for Leanne Bearden, and Josh Beardens reply

Anderson-Blythe Kaitlyn The last thing this family needs is a bunch of armchair CSI agents pointing fingers.. People do strange things sometimes. Sometimes people don't do the predictable thing. Sometimes our brain fails us and is weak to changes and upset - and our thoughts go to crazy impulsive things that are unexpected. I lived in several countries for MANY years... coming "home" to the U.S. was an unexpected let down (and I love my country). It's very hard to explain. You realize how much you DIDN'T know before you went to other countries, and how naive you were about the struggles of other human beings across the planet... I was overwhelmed with guilt after returning from years of living in a very poor country. If Le's brain became temporarily hard-wired for the suspense of living minute to minute, with survival mode kicking in - that causes a lot of changes in the brain. You think completely differently. Suddenly, you're back in the land of having everything at your whim... Wal mart 24 hrs... vehicles... clean bathrooms.... air conditioning (or heat)... It's just very difficult to explain. What I fear, is that all this publicity is causing her to feel too humiliated or embarrassed... and may even feel a bit of relief if people think she has died or met with foul play -- it may be her only emotional refuge in her mind because she may feel she has hurt so many people. So back up, everyone... and give this girl the time she needs to just breathe in and out and make the decision to reach out to someone.

Josh Bearden.

That was actually a great post Kaitlyn and something that I personally have thought of several times. The only problem I have with that thinking is what if she is in danger and does need our help? It's a very complicated predicament to be in as a family member. If somebody told me right now "She's ok but just wants to be left alone." Obviously, I would require proof that she is indeed, ok and able to move about on her own free will. I would back off right now and let her take as much time as she needs even it required me never seeing her again. The problem is that nobody knows she's ok for sure so we have to keep looking. We MUST keep looking until we know she is safe. Then and only then will we stop looking not because "Hey, maybe she just needs some time to breathe."

I gotta sAy i dont see proof of much about moorer in this story. its three grown men all in the fight ~equally. doesnt spell out bully to me. not saying hes innocent re heather but im not getting any substantial reason to say hes guilty.either. killing girl he hadaffair with is very different kind of violence.

Anonymous,

there are no statements for us to analyze. Very little is known of Moorer; it would be helpful to hear him interviewed.

Reasons i hesitate to think moorer killed heather: His wifr already knew about affair which rrally minimizes potential motive. the phone calls between heather and moorer went from around two to six in the morning. this means if he killed her it was sometime after six in a.m. i fund this to be a very indescreet time for violent crime. somebody called heather from pay phone that night\early morning - SO somebody was intentionally using anonymity to cintact her. it could have been moorer and it could have been somebody else entirely. .... No doubt moorer is prime suspect but looking for simethinv more conclusive on him too.

Ya those statenents wil be gold when gotten i agree

From what I've read online, Moorer was the last person to speak to Heather Elvis per phone records. And he lied about those conversations to his wife.

I would love to talk to a police officer someday and find out how do they get a suspect or possible suspect to talk when they are giving the silent treatment. Will he just be silent forever? If he did kill Heather, is there a likelihood that someone with his profile would eventually break and make a statement at some point?

Also what is the likelihood that Heather might have committed suicide? She doesn't seem like the type but have they ruled it out?

Her tumblr account was active the night she went missing. It could provide some insight into her emotions right before she disappeared.

Apparently Sidney Moorer has issues with boundaries.

Hi John!

I posted the same comments on the other article...crazy huh!

I don't think the wife knowing about the affair minimizes motive at all. It could be the primary motive: revenge. Her anger was palpable in the Facebook post she wrote about the affair. It could be a similar situation as the Texas Cadet murder case...i.e. prove your love by murdering the other woman

How come when the cop asked Heather's father if he had a car missing and then tells him it is the make of car that is driven by his daughter and belongs to him would he not have called Heather from the cop car while driving him to the car? Wouldnt enough concern have set in at that point that the cop had found his daughter's car abandoned at a dock? Wouldnt the cop have even encouraged Terry to call his daughter's phone to immediately check on her well-being?

Who is to say when Moorer's wife found out about the affair? Is there hard proof of when she knew? Or is everyone assuming, based on Ms. Moorer's post, that she knew earlier?

Am I the only person who thinks Sidney Moorer looks like a replica of a Cro Magnon man that you'd see in a museum?

Local Anon: I live in the Terlingua area and was wondering if you have had any luck in procuring the affadavits? Is it a difficult process?

Maybe they should look on William Caison's property for Heather's body - since he seems just as nutty as the rest, OCD about his property not being trespassed, and lives across the street from the two accused of murdering Elvis. Oh and the houses are less than 5 miles from where Heather's car was found. Most likely she is somewhere on that route from the Landing to the residences of Tammy, Sid, and William OR she is on the property of William but there's no warrant to enter that property I don't think. I think William knew what happened to Heather and his anxiety over it was what killed him. Just a theory.

How are you so sure it was Heather calling back Sidney every time until 6 am? Could be someone used her phone after she was abducted to confuse investigators on the time that she actually went missing. Might help them with an alibi - if the investigators wrongly believed she disappeared later in the morning (based on the 6 am call) they may not suspect anyone who has an alibi for that time of day. Heather's abduction and murder were planned. The investigators had enough evidence from their property to charge these two with not just kidnapping, but premeditated murder. Premeditated means they planned this out. It was an orchestrated event and there was much deception on part of the suspects I believe. They tried to cover their tracks. Funny thing is, when people try to cover their tracks too much they typically leave behind something unknowingly that proves they were trying to cover their tracks.

She repeatedly told Heather to cease involvement with her husband or Heather would pay. She told Heather she didn't know who she was messing with. Said violent things to her. She was jealous some hot young girl was getting her husbands attention and the husbabd was mad that he was too dumb to control his own penis. If Tammy got rid of Heather she no longer would have to worry about Sidney cheating (in her mind) and if Sidney got did of Heather he would finally be able to control himself (as his excuse) - Sidney projected all his guilt for what he did to Heather onto Heather. "If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have messed up our family and cheated! If I get rid of her I will no longer be tempted and everything will be OK!" Sidney probably said to Tammy. That's how these things go. I hope they rot.

Anonymous said...

Who cares? And what are you even talking about? Stop diverting from the most important fact: Tammy and Sidney probably murdered Heather. The fact her dad reported her missing shows he had a genuine concern for her. You don't know how you will act until you are in the situation. Let's follow the bouncing ball ok?

There are text messages from Mrs. Moorer to Ms. Elvis for months before Ms. Elvis disappeared. Mrs. Moorer also threatened Ms. Elvis in these messages. Ms. Elvis eventually responded to a barrade of abusive texts from Mrs. Moorer with a message containing something along the lines of "why are you so obsessed with me?"

Obviously Mrs. Moorer had much resentment towards Ms. Elvis. I don't think its a coincidence.

Wtf does this comment or the ones below have to do with the MOORERS or HEATHER ELVIS? I suspect the authors of the posts are trying to booger up the thread so that important facts about the case are not seen or discussed here. Sorry the Moorer family are white trash murderers. It's their fault, not ours!

To clarify :

"The discovery of the relationship between Sidney Moorer and Heather Elvis prompted Tammy Moorer, according to prosecutors, to allegedly go to work with her husband, monitor all cell phone activity and handcuff him.

In court Monday, the prosecutor introduced at least two messages from November:

Nov. 1, 2013

To Heather.. someone's about to get their a-- beat down.. your b--- is about to take his last breath... You can tell me where you are right now or I will find out another way... that way wont have a great turn out for you... I am giving you one last chance to answer before we meet in person.. only one.

To Heather.. I've been having Sidney followed since Jan. 2012.. it's best you call back and speak to me, save yourself. Hey ...... you ready to meet the MRS?

Heather responds...
I think you are a little obsessed with me. I'm nobody you need to worry about anymore.

Nov. 3, 2013

To Heather.. by the way dad no longer owns a phone.

The prosecutor also presented timeline of several phone calls and video that was captured the night/morning that Heather Elvis disappeared from Peachtree Boat Landing."
