Arrest in Amanda Blackburn Murder

Police have now announced the arrest of an 18 year old gang member, Larry Taylor, who appears associated with the prior arrest, which showed the strategy as collateral interviews likely yielded information leading to the 18 year old main suspect.

Where does the case stand thus far?

Does the killer know Amanda Blackburn's husband, Davey?

Statement Analysis showed that Amanda Blackburn's husband revealed guilt in his statements, and did not deny association.  The unanswered question remains:

What is the source of this guilt?

Based primarily upon his language, though the former has circumstance to it:

It is either association to the killer, or it is guilt from being freed from a marriage that did not propel his career as expected.  Here is why:

I.  Guilt from Within

It sometimes helps to consider an account in general terms, where religious or political language is removed:

A man opens his own company and readily complains about his wife.  He openly and publicly states that it is a bad marriage, having a child was a trigger, and sex was frequently something to complain about.  In his company, he spoke using violent metaphors and even once, most inappropriately, used a gun as a prop.   He warned others, who were not likely to open their own companies that wives can really help the company or really hinder it.

His wife agreed that the marriage was bad, but stated that it was bad due to the man being consumed by his company.  Indeed, everything the man talked about came back to the company and bringing in new customers.

Then, as little as one month later, his pregnant wife is killed, and sexually assaulted.

How would the man react?

He reacted by using the death as an advertisement for his company, and avoided speaking of love for, or from his wife.  He used his company's advertising slogans and even verbally connected his wife's death with free national advertising and boasted of how many customers her death brought in.

He did not condemn the killer, nor express any fears of the killer, instead opting to continue his advertising campaign, repeating slogans and commercial jingles.

His language showed guilt, by quickly moving from "I" to "we" regarding sensitivity towards her death, the killer,

In Statement Analysis, we believe what one tells us, unless they give us reason not to.

I believe Blackburn about his bad marriage, and I believe him about his quoting of the number who attended his memorial service and, in this sense, I believe him when he avoids saying "I love Amanda" and I would have believed him had he issued a reliable denial instead of giving a cagey avoidance that only increased the attention upon himself and his company.

II.  Guilt from Without

The interview process, along with a myriad of records will seek to learn:

Had the 18 year old, or his co-gang members, met or connected with the husband, Davey Blackburn, in any way, at any time.

Is there a connection?

Did he meet them at school?  Did any of them visit his church?  Did any member hear him in his many complaints about her?

Specifically:  did they hear him complain about her sexually?

Did they ever visit his company?

The gym?

Is there anyone who knows him, and knows them, who may stand as a connection?

Police have not released the 911 call, but perhaps, with the arrest, will shortly.

The next few weeks, we should expect the same intense thorough investigation that thus appears before us today.

Conclusion:

Guilt is seen within the words, and what words are missing.

What is the source of the guilt?

This question remains unanswered.

That his words and actions reveal crass opportunistic commercialism and obsession with business may be the source of the guilt.

If there is a connection to the killer, it should surface.

Good post, Peter. Excellent. You have left no stone unturned in your analysis of guilt or shame that Davey Blackburn has himself displayed, either has or could be feeling. ABB

Anonymous said...

Could it be guilt from leaving the doors unlocked, like he didn't do his job to protect her?

GeekRad said...

I suspect we will never know the source of his guilt as the focus shifts to another news worthy story and Davey fades from the picture. There is no doubt his words and actions are of a man feeling guilt. Great follow up post Peter.

My money is on there is a lot more to this story. If I am wrong I will be the first to admit it.

Davey is extremely relieved about the arrest.

He hopes the courts have the wisdom (?) to prosecute

He hopes the perp is truly sorry for what he has done.

He chooses forgiveness.

Order is important.

Meanwhile, The rest of us are reeling in fresh horror from just the photo of the filthy animal that is accused of raping and murdering Amanda and her unborn child, and feeling sick. RIP Amanda

I've been told that Davey drove Amanda to the hospital. Is this true? Did he call 911 before or on the way? Is there a 911 call? Has it been reported that there's a 911 call or that he drove her?

Jen Ow said...

The count down begins to see if the arrested suspect will have any connection to Davey!

If there turns out to be no connection at all, and this was a totally random crime, it will literally be the strangest I have ever encountered.

Anonymous said...

That's my thought.

Samantha said...

I believe his guilt is from leaving that door unlocked. If he hadn't, she would have heard them trying to get in (sounds like she was awake) and possibly would have had time to call 911. The guilt he must feel for that is unimaginable.

Anonymous said...

I don't get it. Nobody thought Davey was the shooter, did they? Why would you resile from the assumption of Davey's guilt just because they caught the animal who actually killed her.

What is the connection between Davey and the killer? That is the question.

CD's statement:

“Though it does not undo the pain we are feeling, I was extremely relieved to get the news of the arrest made last night of Amanda’s killer. The investigators have assured me they have a solidly-built case to ensure justice is levied and the process is expedited. The family and I couldn’t be more thankful for the level of compassion and professionalism the IMPD and investigators have shown us through the last couple of weeks. My hope is for three things in the weeks and months to come:

That the court system would have wisdom on how to prosecute this man, so that no one else endures the pain Amanda and our family have had to endure because of his actions.
That through all of this and although there will be great consequences for his actions, he would become truly sorry for what he has done and would even begin to experience the life-transforming power of the Grace and Mercy of Jesus Christ.
That Jesus would give me and our family a heart of forgiveness.

Though everything inside of me wants to hate, be angry, and slip into despair I choose the route of forgiveness, grace and hope. If there is one thing I’ve learned from Amanda in the 10 years we were together, it’s this: Choosing to let my emotions drive my decisions is recipe for a hopeless and fruitless life. Today I am deciding to love, not hate. Today I am deciding to extend forgiveness, not bitterness. Today I am deciding to hope, not despair. By Jesus’ power at work within us, the best is STILL yet to come. Even when I don’t see it, I believe it to be true.”

There were some who thought davey was the shooter but the police haven't revealed more info strengthening the timeline.
The same video camera which caught the two stills of the pant sagging' suspect catches every car entering/leaving the cul de sac. Maybe the police referred to his timestamps at the gym 'cause that's stronger proof right there, anything more would be superfluous.
The scum took their sweet time at the first house... evidence they partook of the homeowners food and drink.
Another neighbor on the cul de sac had evidence of tampering with their garage door; I never found out if i was an entry man-door or the overhead door.
The exact spot the gun was found was 'probably' well away from daveys route to the gym.
Many neighbors spotted a dark SUV the day before the crime, early in the morning. Casing activity?

GeekRad said...

I agree Jen Ow.

Amy, there MUST be a 911 call, right? Nobody in their right mind would attempt to move a still-breathing gunshot victim without calling 911 and doing CPR.

Chuck Cheesehead said...

@Anon 9:54 ... a "still-breathing" gunshot victim does not require CPR. A 911 call would be appropriate, however. Remember that Davey told police his wife was "assaulted" during his initial call to IMPD. Perhaps he didn't notice the gunshot wound amid all of the blood and brain matter?

My source who knows some of DB friends says heard that DB drove her in his car. Can anyone confirm this?

Anonymous said...

I don't think he had any involvement - although, admittedly, I did initially. I think if there were any involvement/connection, those three would've already been singing like songbirds.

What disturbs me the most is that the door was unlocked. He left the door unlocked in the predawn hours of the morning? In Indianapolis. We live in a suburb of the 5th most dangerous city in the US and I can tell you that we stay on the lockdown at all times.

That said, when our neighborhood has had break-ins, the criminals had cased the neighborhood prior to and knew routines of individuals. It could be that they knew Davey left every morning or as has been speculated, that they saw him leave and it was a crime of opportunity. Knowing these three were linked to the rape at Westlake Apartments, I think they might not have killed Amanda had she not fought back (as has been reported).

I hope someone tells CD that as an evangelistic pastor people don't need to hear about Jesus INSTEAD of your grief, they just need to see Him IN your grief.

Amy,

The initial indystar article stated that police arrived to the home to assist Fire/EMS with the scene. If Fire/EMS were there, then i am assuming most likely due to her condition that she was transported by ambulance? Just my thoughts based on the article.

Anon 10:01, that is curious to leave the door unlocked especially since there were previous burglaries in the neighborhood a month prior!

Guilt due to a mistake or carelessness (i.e. leaving the door unlocked) would also bring about feelings of regret or remorse. In all of DB's interviews, I've seen neither. Heck, he didn't even appear to be sad. It's such odd behavior. I still believe there is more to this story. I never suspected him to be the actual shooter but his behavior sure is suspect.

Use common sense. The police cleared Davey Blackburn 100%. 100%. The police announced that. There's no connection with this uptight, overdramatic white man and young, black gangstas.

Amanda lived for 1.5 days after being shot in the head and then became an organ donor. This means she was brain dead in the ICU and kept alive to transplant her organs. Davey Blackburn is 28-years old and had to make the painful decision to "pull the plug" on her. He could have protested her organ donation and kept her alive for God-only-knows how long even if Amanda had checked off the organ donation box on her driver's license. He didn't. (I would have done the same.) Amanda appears to have been a very kind person. Even if Davey wasn't madly in love with her, he has guilty over his decision to "pull the plug" on a kind person as he could have protested organ harvesting and kept her alive for weeks/months/years praying for a miracle.

There's no doubt that many people in his evangelical church (possibly Amanda's family) believed that God would heal Amanda brain with a miracle if they just prayed hard and long enough. After experiencing a similar horror with my young cousin, there's no doubt that the hospital's organ procurement officer and transplant surgeons strongly pushed Davey Blackburn to make a quick decision. (If Amanda arrested in the ICU, her otherwise healthy, young organs would be damaged before they could be removed for transplantation into severely ill patients.) This conflict between praying for a miracle and the surgeons' insistence is a source of Davey's guilt. Many people who've been forced to make painful, end of life decisions experience this guilt.

Chuck Cheesehead said...

Soooo ... he arrives home and finds his mortally wounded wife, feeds the dog, bundles up Weston, straps him in his car seat, loads Amanda in the vehicle, combs his hair, then drives to the ER? Did he stop at Starbuck's on the way?

His "guilt" isn't the kind that goes with regret and remorse, that heavy sorrow of wishing one had done things differently (like locking the doors on way out that morning, or not going to the gym at all that morning). Rather, his guilt is the "hiding something" kind of guilt.

Andrew said...

Peter,

First let me tell you how grateful I am to have discovered your blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed your analysis, and even though I had never heard of Statement Analysis before, it strikes me as a credible way of discerning truth.

Like you, I am disturbed by Davey's language and behavior in the aftermath of his wife's murder. His TV interviews are almost unwatchable due to his obvious insincerity and bizarre affect. My initial gut reaction was: "This guy is definitely guilty. He had her killed." That being said, I am a lot less sure of that today.

Even in the pre-murder videos (Q&A, Love Songs, etc.), he has some odd facial expressions that suggest--to me anyway--a core lack of confidence and identity. The one that stuck with me the most was his tendency to thrust his jaw forward and bite his lower lip. It reminded me of President Clinton and appeared to be a kind of "pantomime of sincerity." And the need to be perceived as sincere seems to be very important to Davey. In fact, I suspect that this is a major reason for the personal/confessional nature of his videos about marriage. He is "buying" the audience's belief by admitting to some seemingly unflattering aspects of his relationship with Amanda. This is a classic confidence-man routine. The false crying and fiddling with his wedding ring may be interpreted as clumsy attempts at conveying sincerity.

The more of him that I see, the more I believe Davey could be a kind of male Borderline Personality Disorder. He has no core identity, so he attempts to construct one around the external signifiers he believes will give him "solidity." His mission to build his church is the perfect such prop for a male borderline. He can draw on the love and admiration of his followers while keeping them at a distance that prevents them from sensing the core emptiness. Male borderlines crave sexual intimacy but are frequently incapable of giving or even receiving it. They are more comfortable in a crowd than they are one-on-one.

The paradox in his media interviews is that he THINKS he is speaking to a "crowd," but the experience of the interview is very much one-on-one. I would almost be willing to bet that Davey's close family would say that the interview version of him is closer to the real thing than what you see during his sermons...

I'm rambling, but the point of all of this is that I still think that there are psychological factors that could lead to a false positive, if you will, in Statement Analysis. Davey's use of "we" is authentic in the sense that he lacks a core identity. The fact that he could use "I" in church-related contexts could be due to the performative nature of borderline pesonality disorder. He is more comfortable playing a role than he is in being "himself."

Furthermore, I think it is possible that he has attached his sense of self so closely to the church that he almost completely identifies with it. There is no "Davey" without the church.

Just my 2 cents, but I'd love to get your feedback. Again--thanks for introducing this concept to me. I love it!!!

IMO, another odd statement by Blackburn. He qualifies relieved with "extremely," however he gave little public indication he was concerned about the killer(s) still being out there prior to their arrest. He uses a lot of words before he gets to the words "Amanda's killer." I would think because of its importance, those words would be closer to the beginning. It's also written in passive voice. "Amanda's killer" singular. Several people participated I the burglary. How can he be 100 percent sure only one of them was involved in her murder? "Solidly-built case," as opposed to a weak case? Why the concern about the case at this point? Why not just be grateful they've been caught? "Justice is levied," sounds weak and cliche. "Process is expedited." Again another reference to wanting this to move quickly. Now he is using "the family and I" to clarify who "we" is. "This man" reminds me of Bill Clinton when he referred to Monica Lewinsky as "that woman." And why is he only concerned with prosecution of the one guy? Several had involvement. Wouldn't he wanted everyone involved to be prosecuted especially if it's gang-related, in case of future retaliation?
Praise of law enforcement. "How to prosecute" again reflects concern about the case. Says "this man" again when referring to killer. "Because of his action" soft language about the man who murdered and raped his wife. "Great consequences for his actions" again soft language. "For what he has done" again refusing to use strong language concerning the killer's actions. The last paragraph sounds like a sermon but also sounds like he's defending himself for the lack of emotion in his interviews.

OPN, no. The Uniform in determining death act (federal law) states that once a person is declared brain dead, the family only gets a "reasonable accommodation" to gather family and friends to say goodbye before life support is turned off.

Federal law relieved Davey of the need to make a decision to turn off life support.

Davey's lack of emotion, his ties to schools with not so savory characters, no barking dog, the dog wasn't shot, ( why would the murderer risk the dog attacking him) the suspects had the credit card PIN number. My theory is he hired only one of them and that one enlisted the others to do the burglaries. That might explain why the others left and used the debit cards and the one stayed behind with Amanda. Why would DB leave the door unlocked? He also would know who's home in the neighborhood at that time, who leaves early for work. I think those other robberies were staged to make the whole thing look like a robbery gone bad. When DB said the picture they had of the suspects was grainy, it sounded to be like he was saying "yeah I don't know how they're gonna catch the guy with that grainy picture." Are you kidding, the cops sounded more determined to catch the murderer than DB.

In my opinion, no. I think he is obsessed with promoting his church and probably believes bringing the number of people to hear about Jesus is his life's goal. But no emotion to losing his wife and baby? There is something wrong in his brain. Or he is involved.

andrew said...

Another thing I feel like I have to say: I think some commenters here may be overblowing the significance of the "sex sermons" in their belief that Davey is a kind of secret sexual deviant.

Davey reminds me of many of these young, urban, neo-hipster pastors that have sprung up in the last decade. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there were instructions from the funders of these churches on a) the importance of talking about sex in order to be "real," and b) how exactly to perform those sermons.

A lifelong friend of mine got married about 2 years ago to a woman who was deeply involved in one of these churches. The pastor told her that she needed to recruit him to the church. He was raised traditional Presbyterian and is a believer, but he gave it a shot. He told me that there was an uncomfortable (for him) emphasis on sex, that the pastor and other members grilled him and his fiancee on their sex life, and that when he suggested that he was uncomfortable with it, they basically issued her an ultimatum: the church or your future husband. Thankfully, she chose my friend, and they are now happily married Presbyterians with a young daughter!

At the time, I tried to defend the church somewhat by saying that they were basically just being true to their ideals. I still think that could be all there is to it, but there is no denying the controlling impact that they seek to have on their members' lives. Sounds a lot like Resonate.

I have other stories I could tell about these kinds of churches, but I think I'll stop here.

Bottom line: Davey may or may not have some sexual secrets, but I don't believe that the sermons and videos that have been posted so far necessarily indicate this.

As to whether he was involved in Amanda's murder, I'm still not convinced. His behavior is bizarre and guilty-seeming, but not conclusive to my eyes.

Let's not forget PN is struggling to protect two brands: newspring and resonate. The disturbed DB caused shade on NS and threaten PN's 36 million dollar empire. PN probably has or will call in a crisis PR team to protect his businesses.

And yes, I do wonder if the reason PN wrote the new statement (as some of us suspect) is because DB is freaked out about an arrest and didn't I read the one arrested is providing information/cooperating?

Lots for perry to take control of... Money. Money. Money. Money. Follow the money.

How's about a statement analysis on PN's statement?

Of course, this is all my conjecture, I don't know who murdered AB.

Check out this from Advance Indiana blog:

An observant Advance Indiana reader asks how Taylor, Watson and Gordan could be responsible for the Blackburn home invasion and murder if they were also responsible for a home invasion in the 5700 block of San Clemente Drive that occurred at the exact same time on the morning of November 10. I'm looking at a Fox 59 News report from November 11 describing a home break-in that occurred at 5:30 a.m. that Tuesday morning involving at least three suspects while the home's resident and her two daughters were still sleeping. "According to police, several suspects broke into a home in the 5700 block of San Clemente Drive around 5:30 Tuesday morning while the residents slept," the Fox 59 New Report reads. The victims' Chrysler Seybring car, credit cards, computer and cell phone were stolen. "They came in through a patio door," said the home's owner, Jacola Searsbrook. The apartment complex, Cottages of Fall Creek, had experienced a half dozen break-ins during the past month according to the report. Police released surveillance video that caught the intruders during the break-in. One of the suspects shown in the surveillance camera image is dressed just like the one of the suspects in the Blackburn murder surveillance image released by IMPD.

Now here's what Fox 59 News is reporting today regarding the suspects' connection to the Cottage at Fall Creek apartments where they were now living after moving out of the Westlake Apartments:

Authorities said the men referred to themselves as “The Kill Gang.”

Detectives have collected evidence linking the trio to a previous rape and robbery at the Westlake Apartments, where the suspects were living until early November, sources say. The men then moved to an address on San Clemente Drive, where detectives believe two of the suspects were captured on a surveillance video burglarizing a neighbor’s apartment. A silver Chrysler Sebring was stolen from that location. Investigators later found DNA linking the suspects to that case.

The trio will also be charged with a burglary that occurred earlier that day near the Blackburn’s home. Surveillance video shows at least one of the suspects in that community around the time of the burglary."

Now a police report for the break-in at the home a few doors down from the Blackburn home indicates that break-in was reported at 5:30 a.m. by the home's owner on November 11. That home is located at 2830 Sunnyfield Court in the same subdivision of the Blackburn home. Patrol officers Elise Torres and Jon Walls said the homeowner, Alison Becker, came home to find her home burglarized and items taken from it, including TVs, computers and jewelry. The Blackburns' home is located at 2812 Sunnyfield Court, which is on a cul-de-sac where Sunnyfield Court comes to a dead end just a few houses down the street from Becker's home. News reports indicate Davey Blackburn left his home at 6:10 a.m. to go to the gym. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots at 6:45 a.m. and later saw a dark-colored SUV speeding away from the scene. Davey returned home at around 8:30 a.m. to discover his wife shot in the head. Perhaps Fox 59 News has the wrong date on the Cottage at Fall Creeks break-in. If someone can clear up this discrepancy, please let us know; otherwise, I don't see how these suspects could be at two different places on opposite sides of town at the same time.

Peter,
Perry Noble often capitalizes on criticism by preaching about being persecuted. It's the company way.
It seems that all publicity is good publicity and I'm sure he's been managing Davey through this. After all, this gets the national stage they crave. They will brainstorm and role play and milk it! I do think Noble confirmed that he now reads your blog.

I still wait for evidence of the same wave of horror I've felt as I pictured the attack on Amanda and I'm a complete stranger. I think of her fearing for her life and Weston's while being raped. Where are Davey and/or Perry seen shuddering at the very thought of it all?

The unlocked door still seems too much to overlook. I would like to hear Davey talk about that and why he wouldn't be double-checking locks as he left his family while it was dark. I still want to hear his overwhelming horror over that.

Anonymous said...

No matter what the outcome and no matter if those charged turn on DB if he is involved (I believe he is), Perry Noble and his flock will continue to spew their own truth about this murder. That's what these people do: they create their own truths. Remember, this christian fringe is the same crew who believe that the Earth is 10K years old and that carbon dating is a lie brought to us by an atheist government Science coalition!

At this point, my opinion is that Davey Blackburn believes everything he is saying. The murder of his wife, Amanda, is "god's work" and he believes it. This is his truth. Even if he is taken away to jail, I think he will remain committed to HIS truth about the murder.

I hope they turn on him quickly An 18-year-old thug probably isn't going to push back for that long before he spills everything.

You can usually see them coming. Just step outside and take a whiff. And, no, the police will no not a damn thing until after you are dead.

The non barking dog is puzzling but most likely Amanda gave them her PIN number. The monsters probably told her to cooperate and she wouldn't be hurt. One stayed behind to make sure the number was correct and to then finish the job. Do you recall the doctors wife a few years ago who was followed home from the store and then rode with the perpetrators to the bank to withdraw money. They ended up raping the girls and setting the house on fire anyway and the doctor was the only survivor. I Think I would most likely be cooperating if a gun was in my face and hoping that they would leave if they got what they wanted.

"Amanda Blackburn's husband revealed guilt in his statements, and did not deny association."

I understand the point being made.

However, in fairness to Davey Blackburn, he was never accused of being guilty, and was not asked if he were guilty in any of the interviews -- he was asked, having been 100% cleared, how it felt, as husband, being the subject of the investigation in the beginning. In such a context, there would be no need for him to deny association, since no-one was accusing him, and denying association might even be considered unexpected speech -- why are you denying involvement when no one here is accusing you?

The family and I couldn’t be more thankful for the level of compassion and professionalism the IMPD and investigators have shown us through the last couple of weeks.

Here we see that the "we" likely refers to the family and Davey. Contextually, it could be argued that Davey has seen himself as the spokesman for the family, and in some cases at least has been using "we" not in the royal, grandiose "I" sense but as representing himself and Amanda's family.

Heather, I had some of the same thoughts when I read this latest statement.

"WE" are in pain —only "I" am relieved.

DB is relieved to "get NEWS of the arrest."

The "professionals" have assured DB they have a solidly-built case ...
Introduction of uncertainty. Who is it that needs reassurance that the case is "solidly-built?" Who is nervous that the case might fall apart?

"Of the arrest made last night of Amanda's killer."
Distancing language. Compare, for instance with "they arrested the foul being who murdered my beloved wife."

What is it that DB wishes for "Amanda's killer?"

1. That justice is levied. A levy is a monetary fine that is imposed or collected, usually for minor infractions, or simply at the whim of the governing power, and not a punishment that would fit the crime of a heinous rape and murder.

2. That the process (of levying justice?) is expedited. However one interprets DB's use of the word process here, the message is still the same — let's move on.

"My hope is for 3 things". (Peter, didn't you mention that 3 in a statement indicates deception?)

MemphisPat said...

BallBounces, from Perry Noble's blog comments today we know DB was aware us "Internet trolls" were accusing him. The expected would be that he would grab the opportunity to tell an interviewer "I did not kill my wife. Hook me up to a Lie Detector and let's move on to finding her killers." He would have cried instead of attempting to appear distraught while his mouth kept trying to smile. The stuttering on the word "I" is so troubling. The "marketing-speak" is bothersome because he just couldn't manage any true horror at Amanda's fate.

Anonymous said...

Andrew's comment that DB could be someone without a strong core identity to me. I have known several people like this and unexpected responses, strange and flat affect were hallmarks of their personality disorders. Smiling at inappropriate times, appearing to mimic "real" human emotions--that sort of thing. Also, they can give the impression that they're observing themselves as they speak, (that they don't fully inhabit themselves, but are part of the audience to their own performance) Many have brought up Narcissism here and that fits too.

That said, I think, also, there seems to be some guilt. Maybe, as a believer, he had prayed for some solution to his less than perfect marriage. So, when it happened, he believe his prayers brought about her death? Magical Thinking at work?

Knowing the broader religious context that this church exists in, I agree with your analysis 100%.

Initially, I read DB's demeanor as indicating possible involvement in the crime; and while that is still a possibility, I believe the truer reading is his own personal and emotional immaturity. If he did not love his wife well in her life, he can not grieve her well in her death. This is a young man who has found his identity outside himself, constructed on the expectations of the religious community around him. When he describes his marriage, it is one of roles and duties rather than shared intimacy--this is common rhetoric in this subculture, as is need to see larger purpose in the most random and brutal acts. It shuts down natural human emotion and makes robots out of men.

Meant to say Andrew's comment seems insightful to me.

My theory, whether he is connected to killers or not. DB at around 20, was youth pastor in SC mega church, due to his looks, glib charm, sexy talk, #church of the #hastag, social media relating to young singles.

As he gets older, it starts to get squiky due to his grooming tactics. Chief pastor says DB, you better get married so you don't look like a letch and you can't get to be your own church/corporate CEO without a good Christian wife by your side.

His best friend 'suddenly' coincidentally realizes his girlfriend has a sister. How tidy! Problem fixed! Courts Amanda, using all his charm and gets the prize, wife. Honeymoon keeps up the facade, return to SC, no longer any need to woo Amanda, gets his prize #hastag #church, and her happy fantasy starts to crumble.

He tries his darndest, but can't repeat the success of his youth soul collection at his new church. Judging from the smattering of applause at "Lo e Songs", 1 maybe 2 dozen in the audience, they don't pan to audience because its embarrassingly small. He is failing to build his own mega church, is not getting the big bucks, is not going to keep being funded by SC church -- has a big problem w/supporting family & new baby on the way.

Amanda gets killed, he doesn't show anguish because he didn't feel it. She was a prop to him, not a real human he cared for. So either he is luckiest guy to get rid of his problem by some random intruders, or he is connected. Either way, he did not care about Amanda all along, IMO.

I am still stuck on how afraid Amanda must have been being trapped in her home with those animals. I can't get out of my mind what her last moments must have been like. I imagine she was so worried about Weston and keeping him safe. It's heartbreaking.

Was it a normal habit to leave the door unlocked when Davey went to the gym? Did he feel that safe in the neighborhood? I can't believe that he did with all of the signs and security recordings that have been seen. The police, from what they have released, seem to believe that Davey is cleared. Last year, there was a band of scumbags who invaded a home and took the mother and daughter hostage. They raped them and shot the mother in the leg. All were arrested and are in prison. It blows my mind that a year later another band of 4 did the same action but murdered the young mom. That I don't understand. I believe Davey went into church mode when he was answering the interview questions. He did not answer for himself but for the entire church. I think I said this earlier but it was like he went into automatic church mode and was answering like a robot. He didn't really answer the questions but rather gave the church view of forgiving. Davey, the husband, didn't express himself. Is this why he was coming across as deceptive?

Amanda's last moments on this earth were horrible. I believe Amanda saw true evil before she died.

And right on cue ...
https://perrynoble.com/blog/a-letter-to-my-newspring-family-davey-and-amanda-blackburn-the-arrests-what

A Letter to My NewSpring family—Davey and Amanda Blackburn—the arrests and what's next

I woke up this morning to find that arrests had been made in regards to the murder of Amanda Blackburn.

A few hours later, Davey demonstrated incredible courage and a rock solid faith as he released this statement.

With all of this in mind I wanted our NewSpring family to know I am praying for three things...

#1 - That Jesus will continue to do an amazing work in Davey and his and Amanda's family. That as the overwhelming emotions of bitterness and anger are sure to war against their souls in the next several weeks, months and even years that they will continue to trust that the whole world really is in the hands of an all powerful God–and He really does take all things and use them for the good of those who love him.

#2 - That justice will be served and those who did this will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. America has a justice system–and as flawed as it may seem to some people, it's the system that's been given to us. From this point we must pray for a fair trial, that the evidence is substantiated and it is overwhelmingly clear as to who is guilty in this case. And as the trials begin to happen, we must pray that the assailants would see the forgiveness Davey continually extends and be completely overwhelmed with the amazing grace of God that they would surrender their lives to Christ.

#3 - I really do hope and pray that Megyn Kelly, Jeanine Shapiro and FOX news will strongly consider issuing a public apology for the report that was aired on Thursday, November 12 on The Kelly File where Davey's involvement was called into question and essentially his name was dragged through the mud–which all led to a book promotion.

As a result of this report, internet trolls began popping up everywhere, accusing Davey and issuing their own "conspiracy theories" as to how he had to have somehow arranged this.

I have always admired Megyn Kelly and her journalistic ability, so when I saw this report by her on FOX I was both shocked and disgusted. The Kelly File should apologize for this as journalistic integrity was tossed out the window for the purposes of a book promotion.

I would ask our church family to please continue to pray for Davey as he has had to deal with countless internet bullies who have been ruthless, ungodly and venomous in their accusations against him. He has been cleared by the authorities (and has been for quite some time) and he does not need the opinion of those who have lots of time on their hands, access to the internet and zero true friends in their lives to sit in the cheap seats and launch verbal assaults at him.

He should not have to endure that–especially from those who call themselves Christians.

Our church will continue to walk with Davey through this process, and while we will grieve with him as he grieves, we will also celebrate that Jesus still has work to do in and through him in Indianapolis.

If you are reading this on FB and want to let Davey know you love and support him, then please feel free to leave a comment. If you are a troll who wants to use this platform to introduce your theory as to why he is not innocent, I will block your butt with zero apologies.

Davey has been so overwhelmingly thankful for the support of his NewSpring family in this tragic season of his life. We are praying and believing with him that in spite of the pain that is so real right now–in spite of the hurt–that because of who Jesus is, the best really is yet to come!

I got to read a few comment ms but not all as I am pressed for time today, but I am still not convinced completely of his innocence.

If he had nothing to do with it- the guilt in his language probably is no doubt related to read fact that he isn't all the disturbed that she is gone.

I am still disturbed by the lack of sheer terror of what he found that morning- and not reeling still from the 30 seconds before finding out whether his child, upstairs in his crib, was unharmed.

These are teenagers.
Four of them.
Usually burglars don't have coordinated hits like this, but still it's possible.

If he is guilty of hiring someone, I have no doubt in my mind he might have been mentoring them, as he works in a high school, or maybe they were part of his parish or one related.

It's possible that in looking for forgiveness or just to come clean, one of these kids told him about the burglaries they had committed recently. He might have struck a bargain in keeping quiet. Or, with all that energy onstage- he might have been buying drugs from one of them, and asked them to do this job. Either that or maybe he owed them.

They get together and think it through and come up with a plan to attack the house of the neighbor that is away, and then Daveys house.

It is interesting to note that on the WTHR Facebook page- under the replies to a comment in the post, someone named Dan (not sure of last name) wrote a few things, then deleted his comments.

Someone read them as asked him how the suspects knew Amanda's PIN number for her check card. It is possible that she could have given it to them. It is also possible that good ol Davey could have as well.

If he had nothing to do with this, he is undoubtly not unhappy with what has happened. He struck the bad marriage lottery. But I still think he did.

There are so many coincidences that he would have to be the unluckiest guy in the whole world even apart from his odd behavior after the fact.

So we wait and see if one of the four sings- and if they do know he is involved, they WILL sing.

Reposting, because this makes no sense:

UPDATE II: An observant Advance Indiana reader asks how Taylor, Watson and Gordan could be responsible for the Blackburn home invasion and murder if they were also responsible for a home invasion in the 5700 block of San Clemente Drive that occurred at the exact same time on the morning of November 10. One of the suspects shown in the surveillance camera image is dressed just like the one of the suspects in the Blackburn murder surveillance image released by IMPD.

Surveillance image from the Cottages of Fall Creek Apartments break-in on November 11

The trio will also be charged with a burglary that occurred earlier that day near the Blackburn’s home. Surveillance video shows at least one of the suspects in that community around the time of the burglary.
Now a police report for the break-in at the home a few doors down from the Blackburn home indicates that break-in occurred at 5:30 a.m. and reported by the home's owner on November 10 at 9:12 a.m. That home is located at 2830 Sunnyfield Court in the same subdivision of the Blackburn home. Patrol officers Elise Torres and Jon Walls said the homeowner, Alison Becker, came home to find her home burglarized and items taken from it, including TVs, computers and jewelry.

Crazy Dave, is crazy. He's definitely established that. He's made believers out of us for at least that.

Took this from comment from above: Notice he says "THE" family. This is a huge disconnect here~
He also considers it "NEWS" now that he's a celebrity being all over national news.

“Though it does not undo the pain we are feeling, I was extremely relieved to get the news of the arrest made last night of Amanda’s killer…. The family and I couldn’t be more thankful for the level of compassion and professionalism the IMPD and investigators have shown us through the last couple of weeks.

Either her family is not behind him; estranged, or it's b/c he is with the other crazy church and they are not actually related though feel like family. I find his use of the word "the family" strange and distant.

CD deserves and earned his name well. Crazy he is. I wanted to watch more of his crazy videos but I can hardly stomach the love-myself-is-my-shirt-tight-enough-celebrity-persona.

I believe he has a sex addiction. He definitely targets a young crowd with his sex talks which I find disgusting and abhorrent. No man of God speaks like this in his holy house. The gun prop? I can't even go there. Coincidence? Really? That's a lot of coincidences in a short amount of time.

I find is puzzling they haven't let the 911 call go public. I find it troubling he took her to the hospital himself. Beyond in sane to leave the door unlocked on the family he was supposed to protect. Didn't he say in one of his charismatic-over-the-top sermons: "a man is supposed to lay down his life for his wife"? His words and actions tell us he is relieve alright.

He looks like he still buys his clothes at hot topic for goodness sake.

Crazy Dave is driven by Perry Nobles church. Aren't they raking in the millions? Of course he was coached and now striving for the same success. He believe the best was yet to come. I think that's what "BEST" mean't in that statement. I'm still in awe of the fact sheeple were actually following him. Gives me the creeps.

I don't believe Crazy Davey was expecting the negative backlash he's received. He loves himself more than anything and couldn't possibly see that some, most all, would not agree with his charm, looks and charisma -- what's not to like (says Crazy Davey).

Well Crazy Davey. I wouldn't step foot in the church you fill with filth, smut and violence. It's absolutely disgusting. Perhaps you should have been a gangsta rapper. Because that's what you sound and look like.

I wouldn't think that a pastor would ever call anyone "unlovable" because doesn't God/Jesus love everyone? Something about that early statement about how this is what Amanda wanted was to be with Jesus and for more souls to be saved.. just really bothers me. And his rush to move on and get through the process is a rush to hurry up and get this over with.. don't question things.

I hope someone at the press conference asks how the same people could have been involved in three burglaries, one across town from the Blackburn home, all from 5:30 am to sometime before 6:45 am (before because the shots were heard at around 6:45). I live in a town much smaller than Indy and it would be a stretch here. Even more far fetched, as seen in Advance Indiana's blog posted by anon, two burglaries in two places at the same time. Perry is "shocked and disgusted" by the behavior of internet trolls, who he characterizes as "ruthless, ungodly and venomous."

NOT the criminals who raped and murdered Amanda.

CJ said...

Peter,

What do you make of the equivocation Perry Noble shows in his statement when he addresses punishment for the criminals?

He wants justice to be served and prosecution to the fullest extent of the law, then qualifies this by telling us the system is flawed (let's not get our hopes up).

"We must pray for a fair trial," means we can't assume it (but why would the trial be unfair?).

"Evidence is substantiated" introduces doubt about the connection of the evidence to these suspects, as does "who is guilty in this case." Add to this "as the trials begin," which is a future reference, why not pray for the assailants now?

Andrew @11:06 this is a very valid point. So many churches, especially those that want to be perceived as relevant and modern have taught sermon series on sex, often using the Song of Solomon as their reference text. Mars Hill in Seattle did this seven or so years ago, complete with Q&A time after the sermon for the pastor and his wife, and it was hugely popular, leading to a follow-up book about marriage and international book tour.

The concerning aspect of these sermon series is that they so very often end up focusing on sexual problems in the marriage being the result of the wife not putting out enough. Several big name pastors, as well as your garden-variety obsessive bloggers tell women that they are in sin if they do not have sex whenever their husband initiates (unless they have a VERY good reason) and teach that it's okay for husbands to persuade their wives into sex, almost to the point of coercion. From Mars Hills' Mark Driscoll to the misogynist who blogs at Biblical Gender Roles, they say it doesn't really matter if you're in the mood, your job is to give it up on the reg, and they use scripture to back this up.

When your belief system tells you that all sex, including sexual thoughts and masturbation, is wrong except for heterosexual sex in a marriage relationship, and that if you aren't getting sex as often as YOU want it then your spouse is sinning, it really creates the mindset that you are owed, sexually. "I stayed pure until marriage, so now that I'm married, I deserve all the sex I can get!" Like a kid denied chocolate all their life suddenly being given the keys to a candy store, they want to glut themselves, and if the shopkeeper (wife) suddenly sets restrictions on their access, they react like a child. They can see the goodies but can't do whatever they want whenever they want with them. In many Christians' vocabularies, This is known as "defrauding;" it's deceptive and unjust to marry someone, thus giving that person a right to expect sex from you, and then set any limitations on your availability for sex.

This type of thinking turns women from equal partners in a relationship (which complimentarian Christians are bad at doing anyway) into sex objects who have a duty to perform, and if they aren't performing up to the expected standard, the husband has every right to chastise, complain, bring his wife to the elders so they can also tell her what a selfish sinner she is, etc. It creates a destructive culture that devalues women and marriage, and leads to truly ugly feelings of anger and resentment between spouses who may very well be able to figure out their own sex lives, happily and contentedly, if they weren't being taught from the pulpit what sex in marriage is "supposed" to look like.

I don't think DB is abnormally sex-obsessed, as he is coming from a Purity Culture mindset, and this focus on sex is how young men in so many churches are being groomed to think. I do think that his attitudes towards sex very likely created much of the Blackburn's martial tension, and easily could have poisoned his mind and heart towards his wife.

The Internet trolls ARE ruthless, ungodly and venomous. They continue to bully Amanda's friends on social media, distort the truth and post lies and evil insinuations on here.

When police suspect a husband, they say, "Everyone is a suspect at this time", "no one has been ruled out", or "he is no longer cooperating with police". In this case, the police did just the opposite. They said Davey Blackburn was "100% cleared".

rjb - right on the money. As a teenager I was immersed in a similar religious culture and even back then, they were doing these sex series in church - with teens present. And the main take away is....wives need to have sex when ever the husband wants. I even remember it being said that often time the husband just wants a quicky and wives should except that. This was all promoted as family values, necessary behaviors to keep the family together. So they didn't see anything wrong with teens being present. It is their form of sex education, much preferable to what is taught in public schools.

Perhaps because of my knowledge of this culture, I didn't see anything weird about Davey in his sermons, actually I thought he was quite likable. Ironic as I am an atheist now.

I am willing to admit it, and hope that is the truth so their family isn't further decimated. But I am not yet confident he is innocent. Maybe once we hear the 911 call it will be very clear.

IMPD has botched cases before:

"Charges have been dropped against a 21-year-old gang member who was accused of shooting and killing a woman back in 2012.

Detectives said Dominique Williams was arrested and formally charged with murder and criminal gang activity on June 6.

On Wednesday, a judge ordered a motion to dismiss both charges against Williams.

Homicide detectives said community tips helped them identity Williams as one of several suspects who apparently fired a gun into a home and killed 25 year-old Sierra Bradberry in May of 2012.

Police said Bradberry and her family members and friends were at a home in the 3200 block of North New Jersey Street for a “celebration of life” gathering when Williams and several others fired numerous shots into the home. Bradberry was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Officials said “evidentiary problems” led to the dismissal of the charges."

I have been pondering this too, and feel if he is not connected to the shooter then his internal guilt is two-fold:

1) He did not love his pregnant wife and child as a man should, much less a "man of God", so he can not properly express this bond in a language we can relate to, as it did not exist like it does for couples with profound love and family bonds. This may also be why he seems so emotionally flat and shallow, because he is. I do not think t is denial of feelings, or that the trauma has not "set in", especially since he was the one to find her.

2) He can not issue the reliable denial because he IS partly to blame perhaps. There was no forced entry, no alarm on, so unless his wife opened the door at some point after he left, or unless the lock was faulty, he left the door UNLOCKED. Perhaps, in his mind, this makes him involved and partly responsible, so he can not say 100% that he did not contribute to the rape and death of his wife.

I can not imagine why still he will not issue the R.D., if he was not involved. #2 is the only reason I can fathom as to why he can not say for himself that he did not kill his wife, or was not involved in any way. Most truly innocent people, myself included, would be screaming it from the rooftops, and into the news mics.

Just wanting someone gone or dead in your thoughts should not be enough to make you think you actually killed them, unless you have serious mental issues, or perhaps combined with the physical act of leaving the house unsecured.

(#2) may be enough when combined with the internal guilt of not wanting a wife or more kids(#1), to skew his language and behavior significantly.

Either way, this story is just very tragic and I do feel for DB oddly, in that I wish he had realized all the wonderful things he did have in his little family, when it was still intact, and how rare that is, and treasured and safeguarded it, rather than taking it for granted. Forgiveness is supposed to come AFTER anger, justice and the prevention of this happening to anyone else, not first.

OPN, it is Davey's own words and behavior that have brought the wrath of the Internet his way. His lies and his distortion have angered many who saw how he treated Amanda before her death via "church"-produced videos and how little he grieved her death in public statements and TV interviews. Without any of that, we would all be feeling sad for a young man who lost the wife and baby he loved. The problem is that Davey just wouldn't say that! Statement Analysis is a science and you might want to study it a bit before you form your final opinion on Davey Blackburn.

^^ THIS ! ! ^^

Davey himself is also all too ready to move on and forgive - way too soon. He is very passionate and expressive and aggressive in showing his feelings on many issues on his Resonate church videos - so I would think he would be able to muster up some emotion about losing his wife and unborn child to these criminals.... especially after seeing the images on social media and being able to put faces and lifestyles with them.

The comparison between his post-murder interview style and his pre-murder preaching style speaks volumes. I could see him being almost insanely blinded with confusion and anger after a home invasion and vicious murder - and indicating that in his speech and actions. It absolutely does not seem normal in comparison to the person he has shown himself to be online - to see him feeling so placid and accepting this soon afterward - faith or not. Seriously, he showed so much more anger and hostility when speaking about Amanda hanging the toilet paper wrong - making it feed off of the roll with the paper against the wall and not over the top of the roll (and this was right after they were married !) - than he has in any interview during this whole situation.

Something's not right. . .the door was unlocked. . . the timeframe / length of time he was away from the house at the gym. . . the dog not protecting . . . his obvious lack of love and respect for Amanda. .. interview patterns and his look changing after he or someone combs various forum posts and sorts out how he should act or what he should say. It goes on and on.

Peter's posts have been very revealing as to Davey Blackburn's language and demeanor - thank you so much to you Peter as well as to other posters for the time it takes to analyze and write as you do.

I've been following this crime and reading/watching everything I can about it since it happened and I will be stunned if there is no connection between Davey Blackburn and at least one of the guys in custody. Impossible to believe this was a random situation. I certainly hope LE will not consider this case to be wrapped up without exploring every possibility of his involvement in or instigation of this crime.

MemphisPat said...

OPN, I think we just wanted to hear Davey SAY that he lost it, to show some sign that he was traumatized instead of thinking how to increase his following. Did you not want to hear that. He couldn't even say he loved Amanda and didn't mention the new baby in his early statements. That's just unexpected and it's what gave us pause.

All this talk of grills and cookouts...did he perhaps meet them at a BBQ cookout? maybe that is why he said YES to the interview question of do you or the neighbors recognize the person in this photo...??

Its been bothering me he brought that up, instead of simply saying he had gotten to know the neighbors, his words were not flowing either, and contained some unnecessary info and extra words...

This case is horrid, I sure hope he was not involved, the world already has enough bad stuff happening without going there. I really am hoping he is just a shallow self-absorbed megalomaniac, maybe through all this he will find the love he did maybe have for her deep down, and for his son, who will need him greatly. Hopefully he will realize as well that he lacks true respect for women, and better himself as a man, a father and a preacher in his humbleness. That would be the good to come from it, not a bigger attendance at church, or more donations, but a true life lesson to the core for Preacher Davey, and his "bosses".

Andrew@10:20am
BostonLady@12:01pm

and others:

I agree, and still wonder how much of what has been considered as "off" about the various CD performances could just be put down to this extreme absorption with church, the brainwashed state, the lifelong suppression of genuine emotion, combined with some character shortcomings. If he is also under pressure to "perform" as a spokesman for the church, plus genuinely stunned by the whole horrific experience, plus actually not very bright, and tending anyway towards a distancing jargon, I find it plausible that all this could generate the artificial, blunted, hesitant presentation we see. Unless you have been inside this kind of world, it may be difficult to understand just how blunted someone's sense of self can be, and how distorted one's view of everything is.

Peter gave an interesting analysis of why mental illness does not necessarily impede SA. However I'm still wondering (as I mentioned earlier) whether a combination of this extreme religious syndrome and its associated general lifelong fear of genuine emotion could somehow interfere with the SA signals?

I also find all the church videos totally crass and shocking. But as others have pointed out, this general approach is no doubt widespread, a kind of formula, a kind of poor-mans, wannabe Mark Driscoll. Additionally, he comes across as desperate to be edgy and to connect, with lack of connection escalating the outrageousness - perhaps linked to the imminent failure of the church "plant". Sex, guns, overdone teen-speak - all just seem typical to me of someone who hasn't got it, knows this at some level, and is trying too hard.

Truly objectionable and pathetic, maybe, but not necessarily psychopathic, and from another perspective, when you think that Davey and all the other kids like him started life as an innocent, trusting, blank slate, utterly tragic and pitiable quite apart from this recent horrific incident.

Unfortunately, if he is not involved as latest stories suggest, the whole experience seems likely to just drive him deeper into the mindset, and reinforce that world-view which is all that he ever had and is all that is holding him up at the moment.

Videos of him insulting Amanda during a Mother's Day sermon and Davey talking about putting her up on the the kitchen counter to have sex. He's going to see videos of his father saying Amaanda "ROBBED" him of a sex life. He'll see videos of his dad talking about his mother's murder and NEVER mentioning Weston. Never once has Davey talked about Weston being in danger and what a blessing it is he was unharmed in the vicious attack. Davey talks about himself. He doesn't talk about Weston. He'll learn his father left him with his grandparents for days and took off out of town right after the murder.

So yeah...I think ALL of us are concerned about the things Weston will learn about his paretns when he's able to google. It's unfair for you to suggest this one message board will be a source of angst for Weston. Consider pointing your finger in another direction, please.

OPN, darlin', you have no idea how far your accusations are from the truth. I am a student of Statement Analysis and my only interactions concerning this case are here on this blog among fellow students. And as a Christian, I would never call anyone a (your word) *itch.

I pray for Amanda's family and I will pray for you. I don't want Davey to be involved as that would cause her parents even more grief. From the beginning, I and the others here wanted Davey to issue a reliable denial and let the police focus on finding the killer. We wanted him to say he loved her and the new baby. He had opportunities but he came off in public as someone who wasn't even sorry she had died. He was all caught up in telling us his numbers at her funeral and how much her death would slingshot (Davey's word) his ministry.

When the "church" videos showed up, we were sad to see what tactics Davey would use to draw a crowd. We were especially sad that he demeaned his sweet wife to get laughs and to shock listeners. Did that not bother you as friend or family of Amanda? So it bothers strangers and *itches (your word) more than it bothers you? How can that be?

Please consider moving on to another blog as you will only meet more people like me at this one and it will make you crazy...people, many fine Christians who have defended the Word here, who just want everyone involved in killing a beautiful young mother brought to justice. You want that too, don't you? God bless you.

momofmany, I don't see his reaction as abnormal if you take everything into account.

If he reacted with overwhelming sorrow and intense desire for the killers to burn in hell, then he'd have a whole separate group of people criticizing him, saying "is that any way for a Christian pastor to react?"

Instead, he reacts with peace and strength, relaying the message that he believes the "best is yet to come" (in heaven) and, because of that reaction, he has an entire separate group of people criticizing him for not being angry enough.

Like I said, you could be right. But you also might be wrong. I'm just saying that maybe we should think about Weston reading this someday. Sounds like you're fine with that, though, since his dad has what you would consider to be an "abnormal" reaction.

Besides a million other things I expected to hear from DB and didn't, the one at the top of the list would be the last time he saw her.

What she said/he said. What she was doing. What Weston was doing. If she was sleeping when he left then what about the evening before? Did they have dinner together while little Weston was ate in his highchair entertaining them. Did they watch a movie or play a game. Did they talk about their plans for next week or their future. I imagine these last memories would be so vivid and bring great comfort. And considering his many TV interviews wanting the world to know how wonderful Amanda was why didn't he share recent good memories of her?

I saw my favorite Nana more than 16 years ago, she has since passed but I distinctly remember the last time we saw each other. Her expression, what she said and even they way she was standing with one hand on her hip (her famous pose). It gives me comfort because it was a happy time.

they believe robbers went to San Clemente Dr., then to 2830 sunnyfield Court and then Amandas house.

Cheif Hite says..they are proud they got them. Still several more murder cases open. Talked about their mission to make neighborhoods safe against.

dep. chief speaks..Kudos to all the departments. Thanked many people. Long list of people going thru. Detectives worked very hard, no sleep, no food. Named them personally. Thanks the neighborhood people for all their involvement.

Chief again - Continued kudos to all the different agencies. Talked about their numbers of arrests thusfar this year.

Question - anyone else? There have not been any charges filed against anyone else but if further investigation shows more arrests need to be made, they will make them.

got DNA off t shirt that covered face while using Amandas ATM. Codis hit for Mr. Watson altho they say it was Mr. Taylor who committed murder.

Followed the evidence of the 1st burglary. They think it was solely opportunity.

Why target AB neighborhood ? They don't know

They will not release what happened exactly in the home.

In every case where their is aggravating charges (death penalty) they will consult with family. They take into consideration family wishes but that doesn't mean they follow them.

He thinks it's fair to say that as of today there is not a reason to suspect DAvey.

They won't speak to anything else except what is used in the "probable cause" affadavit. Refused to answer anything else.

Mr. Taylor in probable cause, is one who committed murder

NO sexual assault/ no evidence of such and no charges will be filed now...thank God that is PUT TO REST.

only as of yesterday did they have enough to file charges.

Investigation has not ended..it is still continuing..
