Melissa Sowders Ex Husband No Longer Cooperating

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says it is focused on a section of the creek where sonar equipment detected what could be a body.

Divers with the sheriff's office put on cold water dive suits to search for missing Melissa Sowders, 26. They are hoping to find the pregnant mother of four in Cypress Creek. She is believed to be the victim of foul play.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers have been assisting in the investigation, and EquuSearch is confident this is where her body will be found.

Melissa Sowders was last seen the day after Christmas at a McDonald's not far from the search area. She was there to meet her estranged husband, Matthew, who has since hired a lawyer. We have confirmed that his car is being processed by crime scene investigators.
Detectives say Matthew Sowders is not in custody. Investigators say while he was initially cooperative, he is no longer talking to them.

Maggie,

Melissa was driving the car with the black door, not Matthew her estranged husband.

This is the first comment on this thread actually written by me. The rest were written by the troll. I did not write "does he still have a black car door".

off topic

Anyone read Aaron Roger's (Packers QB) comments about being gay. Kind of caught me by surprise.

One article claims she never made it to McDonalds. Wellll, ask the children. Duh...

If the "black car door = drugs" equation is true then isn't it like advertising to the police? It seems rather irrelevant either way.

I wonder if her husband stopped cooperating because Law Enforcement was bearing down so hard on him that he got scared. I haven't seen any statements or video of him yet. Have any of you read or seen anything from him?

The boyfriend is so strange in both demeanor and what he actually. I suspect that the police will investigate him just as diligently as her husband.

You'd think that we would have heard about whether or not the husband did meet up with her at MacDonald's or if he says she never showed up. You'd think that MacDonalds might have some video to shed light on the matter too. I wonder if there is information that is simply not being shared with the public. It seems like such obvious stuff to look into that it's odd that we aren't hearing about it.

I don't blame the husband for lawyering up. 24/7 news reporting and social media sites create untruth and rumors. Those rumors are not always debunked in a court of law. Jury parties are dangerous and easily swayed not making good decisions

Charles Erickson is a good example.

Plus, All legal parties involved in that case made a mess out of true justice. kent heitholts murder is once again cold and a very likely murderer ryan ferguson has been set free.

Hobnob, thanks, I will look into doing that, I appreciate the info.
Again, these posts on this thread under my name are being written by the troll.

Here is one thought I have, and it is based mainly on gut instinct.
I am getting a prostitution type vibe off of Melissa's boyfriend. It is something about his earrings, dyed hair and demeanor.
I wonder if he could have even forced or coerced Melissa into this kind of drug-related activity.
I dont understand why it is not being said whether Melissa actually met her ex-husband at McDonald's. Also, was the 18 month old brought to mcdonald's with him or not?
How did he get to mcdonald's--was he dropped off or did he drive there?
Truck stops can be havens for drugs and prostitution. I wonder if this is actually where the boyfriend got dropped off for work? Could he have been a prostitute, going to the truck stop to get some money to get drugs?
Did Melissa return to the truck stop after meeting the ex-husband at mcdonald's perhaps to pick the boyfriend back up?
And then, at this point, foul play occurred?

One other thing I wanted to add, I also felt Melissa's father's reaction seemed odd. He just seemed very laid back and relaxed. Her mother seemed more genuinely concerned, but the father I thought was odd.

This article says they feel they may be very close to finding her, but they are trying to get confirmation before putting divers back in the water:

It also says that according to the boyfriend the ex-husband was NOT aware that she was pregnant by him.

Which makes me wonder if he found out or if she revealed the news and he killed her.

Jen Ow, the b/f can only speculate that Melissa had not told her ex she was pregnant by him. There's no way he could know what she might have told her ex.

Anon, why do you keep asking "Please help find Ayala"? I mean, WHY? Don't you realize that there is nothing anyone here can do to find Ayla? None of these people even live anywhere NEAR Ayla, nor do they have the wherewithal to investigate, track down or help search for her. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

To the anon who keeps making accusations against Peters' bud and mentor, Avinoam, why are you doing this? It's irrelevant whether you are speaking truhfully or whatever, but surely you realize John Ramsey is a big boy and fully apprised in filing lawsuits. If he discovers he has a lawsuit against Avinoam, I'm sure he is perfectly capable of filing one himself and will. Why is so all important to you anyhow?

Ditto for anon who keeps making slanderous accusations against Avinoam and Peter Hyatt; if what you say is true, why don't you hire an attorney and bring charges or better still, file your own charges with the U.S. Dept of Justice? They will make their own investigation and if any validity is found in your allegations they will turn the matter over to the FBI for investigation.

Your constant harassment in these matters is doing nothing but keeping you upset which does nothing to settle the issues you claim you have. Just MOO.

I said 'according to the boyfriend'.

If you read the article the boyfriend goes on to say that she withheld the fact she was pregnant from the ex-husband due to fear of his reaction/ past violence and abuse.

I would think it hard to keep something like that under wraps for long, (considering that her extended family appears to have known) so maybe he knew, maybe he didn't. He still had a motive either way, since they weren't officially divorced, yet she had clearly moved on.

The boyfriend has said some concerning things, but at this point LE has not given any indication that they believe he's involved. LE hasn't announced that HE ended co-operation, and the family apparently doesn't suspect him, but they DO suspect the ex-husband (strongly enough to announce that they believe she is dead at his hands). As frenzied as boyfriend seems, I don't think he has it in him to frame the ex-husband. I still wish we had a statement from EX, but his silence also says a lot!

There are some interesting quotes in this article. Her aunt said he never attend family events. Considering the note on the Christmas card to her parents, I wonder if her family refused to accept him.
