Did Casey Anthony do a Google search for 'fool-proof suffocation'?

The Florida sheriff's office that investigated the disappearance of Casey Anthony's 2-year-old daughter overlooked evidence that someone in their home did a Google search for "fool-proof" suffocation methods on the day the girl was last seen alive.
Orange County sheriff's Captain Angelo Nieves said the office's computer investigator missed the June 16, 2008, search. The agency's admission was first reported by Orlando television station WKMG. It's not known who performed the search. The station reported it was done on a browser primarily used by the 2-year-old's mother, Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of the girl's murder in 2011.
Anthony's attorneys argued during the trial that Casey Anthony helped her father, George Anthony, cover up the girl's drowning in the family pool.
WKMG reports that sheriff's investigators pulled 17 vague entries only from the computer's Internet Explorer browser, not the Mozilla Firefox browser commonly used by Casey Anthony. More than 1200 Firefox entries, including the suffocation search, were overlooked.

Whoever conducted the Google search looked for the term "fool-proof suffication," misspelling "suffocation," and then clicked on an article about suicide that discussed taking poison and putting a bag over one's head.
The browser then recorded activity on the social networking site MySpace, which was used by Casey Anthony but not her father.
A computer expert for Anthony's defence team found the search before the trial. Her lead attorney, Jose Baez, first mentioned the search in his book about the case but suggested it was George Anthony who conducted the search after Caylee drowned because he wanted to kill himself.
Not knowing about the computer search, prosecutors had argued Caylee was poisoned with chloroform and then suffocated by duct tape placed over her mouth and nose. The girl's body was found six months after she disappeared in a field near the family home and was too decomposed for an exact cause of death to be determined.
Prosecutors presented evidence that someone in the Anthony home searched online for how to make chloroform, but Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy, claimed on the witness stand that she had done the searches by mistake while looking up information about chlorophyll.
Many jurors apparently went into hiding amid public outrage over the verdict and refused to comment, but two have said prosecutors couldn't conclusively prove how Caylee died.
Prosecutors Linda Drane Burdick and Jeff Ashton did not respond to emails.
But Ashton told WKMG that "it's just a shame we didn't have it. This certainly would have put the accidental death claim in serious question."
Baez didn't respond to phone or email messages but told WKMG that he expected prosecutors to bring up the search at trial.
"When they didn't, we were kind of shocked," Baez, who no longer represents Anthony, told the station. Her attorney, Cheney Mason, who was also on the trial team, didn't return an email, and his office answering service refused to take a phone message.
The sheriff's office didn't consult the FBI or Florida Department of Law Enforcement for help searching the computer in the Anthony case, a mistake investigators have learned from, Nieves said.

This evidence would have been bypassed by the Anthony jury. They didn't look at the other evidence presented. They would have ignored this too. The duct tape over the mouth and nose was enough proof.
When members of a jury have agents lined up before the verdict, a little thing like evidence is not going to change their minds. Members of this jury had dollar signs on their mind, not justice for Caylee. I wonder if they even realize that because of their decision, many people consider them accomplices in Caylee's murder. I know I do.
"Consider what they appear to show happening online the afternoon of Monday, June 16, 2008, the day Caylee died:
At 2:49 p.m., after George Anthony said he had left for work and while Casey Anthony’s cellphone is pinging a tower nearest the home, the Anthony family's desktop computer is activated by someone using a password-protected account Casey Anthony used;
At 2:51 p.m., on a browser primarily Casey Anthony used, a Google search for the term "fool-proof suffocation," misspelling the last word as "suffication";
Five seconds later, the user clicks on an article that criticizes pro-suicide websites that include advice on "foolproof" ways to die. "Poison yourself and then follow it up with suffocation" by placing "a plastic bag over the head," the writer quotes others as advising;
At 2:52 p.m., the browser records activity on MySpace, a website Casey Anthony used frequently and George Anthony did not."

I was so hoping you would cover this Peter, it only confirms what we all knew all along, but the idiots who aquitted her and the attorneys who aided her escape from justice are still trying to find a way to polute the facts. Jose Baez appeared on the spineless and pathetic Dr Drew show and tried to argue that the searches were done at 1:50 instead of 2:50 when George Anthony was still at home.
When an incredulous caller mocked Baez asking who he was gonna blame now since the whole world knew Casey performed the searches via her password protected logins and personal myspace/Facebook activity occurring directly before and after the most damning search, Dr. Drew actually helped him out by asserting that Casey may have done the searches, but for the purposes of suicide rather than murder, after learning her daughter had accidentally drowned! (btw-Jose had no answer to the callers question and pretended to be unable to hear the question TWICE, before Drew jumped in to save him)
As much as I want to believe Casey Anthony lives a life of sh!t everyday knowing she murdered her own precious daughter, I know better. A selfish, black hearted liar like her knows no regret, or remorse...only satisfaction that she got rid of the 'little snot head' she never wanted to begin with, and she got away with it too! But make no mistake, the world knows what you are Casey Anthony, a MURDERER and no amount of slick lawyer talk (or ridiculous Dr Drew excuses) will ever change that!

LOL Lemon!!
I thought it was that suicidal squirrel who had absconded with Casey Anthony's puter, looked up the how to kill searches, successfully did the dirty deed (done dirt never mind)by sufficating itself. It then jumped up and plastered itself in the engine and on the front of Casey Anthony's car to frame her for the murder of, of, of what was the name of that murdered two year old?

It is a shame this did not come in. You have to stretch an already preposterous story beyond anything even the most gullible might accept as reasonable doubt to make this fact fit with a drowning theory. Premeditated, cruel, murder of a defenseless three year old by her own mother who saw her as a means to an end. Of course many suspected as much but I "hoped" it was a drugging to go out and party gone bad. The tape was always problematic, but I kind of held on to the possibility. Poor poor Caylee.
If I remember correctly, George Anthony said Caylee and Casey left the house at 12:30 pm on July 16th. The computer records appear to contradict George's statement. Did Casey leave and come back or did George lie for her as Cindy did?

This is JMO ... but I do believe George LIED because Cindy to told him to LIE.
The "Marie's" have NEVER put their granddaughter FIRST ... it's always been the murderess first.
The "Marie's" have NO SHAME ... they are despicable !
Baez is never going to let this die down, its his 'moment of fame', and will continue it as long as he possibly can. More will come after this, every time people start to forget the killer and move on to something else. I didn't need this evidense to know she somehow killed Caylee, and don't know that it would have made a difference to that stupid jury. Just my 2 cents here.
More from Lemon and cuckoo please
Lemon...too funny!
Skeptical...I have two theories on George's 'last time I saw Caylee' story. I think it's likely that he did see her leave with Caylee (on many days as she was pretending to go to work) and then after George left for his job Casey would come back to the house with Caylee. After all she had to go somewhere and without income she was probably pretty limited in her options. If she couldn't take Caylee and crash at a friends house for a few hours or go to the park (something free) then she probably went home and prepared a lie for if she was discovered at the house...(I'm working from home, I got off early, etc)
Either she was doing that on a regular basis & June 16 was no different, or George lied to cover up the fact that Casey left after the big argument on fathers day & was withholding Caylee as punishment. I tend to lean toward this theory as it's clear the Anthony's were anything but a normal family dynamic. Hidden pregnancies, gambling addictions, elaborate lying and pretend jobs for YEARS, tens of $1000's stolen from bank accounts and credit cards, & I could go on!
I am of the belief that Casey had considered killing Caylee and possibly even her parents for some time and when she felt backed into a corner by Cindy threatening to take custody, she decided if I can't have Caylee then nobody will. She knew she was losing her only bargaining chip. If Cindy gets custody of Caylee then she 'wins' and there's no way Casey can tolerate that. Just imagine the rage Casey would feel over her Mom actually trying to take custody from her in light of the fact that George claimed Casey was still angry and held a grudge that Cindy was the first to hold Caylee when she was born! What a ridiculous thing to make an issue out of....however it shows just how petty & childish Casey is and her hatred for Cindy.

Bonus points for
"Pool Roof" certification methods"
hehe
You can bet if it came up in trial Cindy would claim it was her search or Baez would argue George researched a method to commit suicide. And you can also bet that the indivudualy and collectively mindless jury would have ignored yet another piece of evidence. But I cannot see how this could have been overlooked!!! I maen don't that teach that in "Investigation 101"?
I can only hope that Casey Anthony is living a horrible life. So where is she and where are the webslueths reporting on her life and whereabouts? I further hope that every one of the mindless jury lives a miserable life. I feel sorry for anyone they know (employer, family, freiends) who have to rely on them to add 2 plus 2. And hope they don't contribute to the gene pool.

I don't think that is the case Anon. I think you have to be hard wired with a conscience to have feelings of guilt and remorse. I don't think Casey Anthony suffers.
BUT, I remember hearing about a woman who's son had died in a car wreck who she was saying was the father of murdered Caylee Anthony. After that jury took a dump on our justice system I remember hoping whoever was the father of Caylee would stand up and sue Casey Anthony ala Ron Goldman's parents did (and did successfully) against O J Simpson. And yes no matter if ten nuts on death row admit guilt in killing Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman I still say OJ is the murderer. I remember that panic flight racing down the highway with a bunch of money and important travel papers.
We all, including her "defense team" already know she is guilty.
The jury members wouldn't have convicted her if she'd come out and confessed in front of them. It was making a statement about the death penalty that they cared about, not determining guilt or innocence.
Lemon, hilarious!
Lemon is not far off the mark! Cindy Anthony lies to keep in practice and actually believes she's credible because the rest of us are so stupid compared to her great intelligence.
Where the prosecution ran afoul was thinking that they could trust the Anthonys at trial. The Anthonys -- all three, plus Lee's fiancee' -- should have all been declared hostile witnesses from the get-go. The prosecution knew they were all liars and they were not needed to tell the story of Caylee's death.

Prosecutor Jeff Ashton, during one of his media/book signing appearances, said something to the effect that the prosecution was terribly handicapped by the extensive media coverage. They basically had to find a group of jurors who knew all about Casey's guilty behaviors before and after the murder, but who were still undecided about Casey's guilt and thus theoretically "impartial." In reality, they were not "impartial" because no truly impartial person could see the mountain of evidence against Casey yet believe she was not guilty beyond any reasonable double. They were pro-defense jurors who were highly unlikely to convict regardless how well the evidence was presented.
And +1 to Skeptical.
I remember hearing about the search for suffocation months before her trial. Was it never brought up?
The sad part is that she wears Caylee's ashes around her neck, not as a precious reminder if her beloved child, but as a medal if her "greatest accomplishment", aka Getting away with Caylee's murder!!!
"Vengeance is mine," says The Lord. If I were Casey I would be shaking in my boots wandering what he means!! Caylee will ultimately get her justice!!
I think it makes much more sense to assume the arrogant prosecutor didn't use it because it messed up his hypothedical timeline. Which fits into the puzzel of this trial only being a stepping stone to him for higher public office- and i love that during his "election" he was defending either one or two of his teen age children on DWI charges. Ya gotta love the "over-dog".
"prosecutors couldn't conclusively prove how Caylee died"
Was it proven who hid her body?
If disposing a body, or helping in disposing a body would be punished with 20-30 years in prison, some people would think twice about hiding bodies or helping others to hide bodies. Prosecution should prove only who hid the body, who helped, would be easier to proove.
The need for rock solid evidence and the need for using common sense should be used together by the jury, that is why a jury brings the decision and not a computer IMO.

I agree ... Cindy would have claimed she did it.
LOL -- Investigation 101 -- a 10 year old would have been able to search the history better than the LE did in this case !
i agree with skepticals 1st post, the duct tape was conclusive as far as im concerned. i was following the case from australia and was shocked on a daily basis at the ineptitude of the prosecutors. im not any brain at all but i found myself shaking my head at the way they were presenting the case, they have just as much to answer for as the idiot jurors, a perfect storm of bit players - caseys parents, the defence, the jurors and the prosecutors, all creating an avenue of escape for a selfish, evil woman named casey anthony to get away with the cold blooded murder of an innocent beautiful child named caylee anthony. and if there are any people out there that doubt her guilt, i urge you to look at the close up of her face when the veredict was read, oh my dear god, that smirk! that was the moment she knew she had gotten away with murder and you will know shes guilty
