Muslim Cleric Fined for Rape and Murder of His 5 Year Old Daughter

For raping and killing his five year old daughter, he will be fined.  No death penalty and no prison.  For those who are tolerant of Islam, the intolerance for the sanctity of the human life, particularly of females, must be highlighted.

A ‘celebrity’ Saudi Islamic cleric accused of raping, torturing and killing his five-year-old daughter has reportedly been released from custody after agreeing to pay ‘blood money’.
Fayhan al-Ghamdi had been accused of killing his daughter Lama, who suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull, broken back, broken ribs, a broken left arm and extensive bruising and burns. Social workers say she had also been repeatedly raped and burnt.

Fayhan al-Ghamdi admitted using a cane and cables to inflict the injuries after doubting his five-year-old daughter’s virginity and taking her to a doctor, according to the campaign group Women to Drive.

Rather than getting the death penalty or receiving a long prison sentence for the crime, Fayhan al-Ghamdi served only a few months in jail before a judge ruled the prosecution could only seek ‘blood money’.
Albawaba News reported the judge as saying: "Blood money and the time the defendant had served in prison since Lama's death suffices as punishment."
Fayhan al-Ghamdi, who regularly appears on television in Saudi Arabia, is said to have agreed to pay £31,000 to Lama’s mother.
The money is considered compensation under Islamic law, although it is only half the amount that would have been paid had Lama been a boy.
Despite Saudi Arabia’s famously strict legal system, Women to Drive say fathers cannot be executed for murdering their children in the country. Equally, husbands cannot be executed for murdering their wives.
Formal objections to the ruling have been raised by three Saudi activists, and the twitter hashtag #AnaLama (which translates as I Am Lama) has been set up.
Local reports say public anger over the settlement is growing across Saudi Arabia, with authorities planning to set up a 24-hour hotline to take calls about child abuse.

I take it that Islamic cleric's have special rights that allow them to rape and murder little girls without fear of going to jail or suffering any form of sequestering from other potential victims.

You just pay "blood money" and you're forgiven and divinely free. What is going to happen when this guy gets the urge to rape and murder a little girl again?

Who receives the money? and what do they do with it?

Anonymous said...

This thing doubted his 5 year old child's virginity?

Why?

Because he had something to do with her loss of virginity, he molested the poor little girl. In his perverted mind, it was the little girl's fault, so she had to pay the ultimate price. Just too sick & even sicker is that he has gotten away with rape, torture and murder.

What an absolutely disgusting human being. Absolutely disgusting authorities. Shame on them.

Out of curiosity; what does his religion say about what will happen to him when he 'meets his maker'?

Sickening. Disgusting. Evil.

Since he cant be executed for killing his daughter, and a husband also can't be executed for killing his wife, I guess his next step is to do away with her so he won't have to pay her the 'blood money'. What a disgusting animal and a disgusting concept of 'justice'.

There are no words to fully describe how sick and sad this is. I hope that when he meets his maker, there will be 72 virgin male camels lined up, and he will be strapped over a barrel. Without K-Y. I can't say anything milder.

That's the ticket. Set up a hotline.

I'm feeling very intolerant right now...

"For those who are tolerant of Islam…"

"Formal objections to the ruling have been raised…"
"...public anger over the settlement is growing across Saudi Arabia…"

Saudis are all muslims AND they are against the ruling -- Please attack the legal system and the judge, not the whole religion.

Lemon, the hotline does not undo the injustice, but it helps the shocked Saudis who are distraught by what the monster did and by the lame judgement he received.

I agree with Equinox -- no camel deserves a horrible punishment like that!

Horrible disgusting thing that happened the opening line of your piece attacks the whole religion in my opinon... like Ivanna-Anna said. any one wanna call me something, eh?

He IS a cleric in that religion. Are there any repercussions from the religion?

"For those who are tolerant of Islam"

Well I guess this article is directed to me then. So are you trying to say that I shouldn't be tolerant of Islam? You made it seem like all Muslims agree with the act done here. Has no one ever taken your Gods name and used it for hate, or other purposes like the the one in the article.

Very well I shall write my own article.
I shall call it-
"For those who are tolerant of religion"

I will put all the horrible things anyone has ever done in the name of there religion, I wont mention the good people that disagree with the terrible things they have done. Oh wait that wouldn't really go well with the internet.

Anyways I just wanna know if an American shoots someone, should we not be tolerant of Americans anymore?

But, I get that your main point is about the act here. Just maybe rewording it would make the article more worthwhile.

Remeber islam was founded by a man who married a 9 year old, A religion that praises a paedophile as a prophet, that accepts paedophilia as the norm. Look at all the countries in the word where islam is the main religion and then look at all the child marriages.

Pubescent girls are married off to men well into their dotage, a recent case being a man who paid a £10,000 dowry to marry a 15 year old, she refused him, locked herself away and then ran to her parents. he wants his money back and claims they conned him.

We see girls aged under 10 married off for money.

Women are 2nd class citizens in the muslim world, there was a recent article where a cleric demanded infant girls wear a burkha to protect them from sexual advances!! he didn't see the irony of it.
He didn't see that infant girls needed to be protected from moslem men who cannot control their sexual urges.
I posted a comment in the mail which didn't get published ( quelle surprise) suggested that since moslem mles were so rampant it was in their best interests to be neutered or if needed for breeding forced to wear a chastity belt since clearly they could not be expected to show restraint.
How bad is it that moslem males cannot be trusted with a female of any age and will blame the women for said urges regardless of their age resulting in rape, murder and so on just becaus they are female.

Maybe it is time for women to say no sex ever, without women there are no babies, no babies means no population and the end of the male.

Woomen should be praised and protected, loved and cared for, for without us there is no mankind.
Killing and abusing us destroys mankind.

I have no time for a religion that actively supports paedophilia in any guise and treats women worse than animals.

If being Muslim means you believe the Koran is your bible, then, you must believe that anyone who is not Muslim is an infidel and must be killed.

To: Haley
Is this accurate?

Unknown said...

I am sure there are people that call themselves "Muslims" and believe that anyone who is not Muslim is an infidel and must be killed. There are many crazy people out there. However the Muslims that I associate with, do not believe this. I just want it to be clear that many people in the middle east interpret the Qur'an in different ways. This is where all of the radical groups from. There are actually good Muslims out there, when you take the time to meet one. I have Muslims friends from my home country (Canada) and from the middle east (Mainly Jordan), not one of them wants to kill me.

BTW from reading my comments one can assume I am Muslim, however I am actually an atheist.

Who gets the "blood money?"

Since he is to pay his wife for the death of his daughter and he is the financial administrator of his wife's money by law and controls her money, then he gets it.

This monster gets off scott free for the rape and murder of his five year-old daughter. It's the Muslim law.

Anonymous said...

From Ivanna-Anna:

Regarding the money: the money is paid to the wife.

This comes as a surprise to many of you, but according to the Islamic law, the man has no say in the wife's money. The money a man earns or inherits is not his but belongs to the whole family. Women have the freedom and right to work and receive money. However, they are not obliged to spend any of their money on the family's needs as it's the man's duty to provide for the family. (That's also why women are given only half as much blood money - they get to keep all of it).

No, I'm not a muslim but an atheist. I was a Christian but I divorced from the church because of women's rights (women were not able to work as priests at that time).

The monster is a sadistic pedophile but not because of his religion. (Actually, from what I've seen in the media, it's more of a ... Catholic trend.)

Yes, a re-wording to softer terms is exactly what radical Islamist's deserve...how dare we question or be intolerant of such a loving humble people...after all, while they are sawing their women's clitoris off in the name of Allah and raping/torturing five year olds...we are the one who should learn to be more evolved. Excellent point!

Lemon said...

A phone line to "report" more atrocities where monsters will not be held accountable is beyond ridiculous.

Why report anything when the result is nothing?

Amaleen6 said...

equinox and Ivanna-Anna, what about 72 various fruits and vegetables, such as pineapples, squash, and whole bunches of bananas? I guess we shouldn't inflict him on the camels.

Anonymous said...

"Why report anything when the result is nothing."

We are talking about one case where a sadist failed to get a proper sentence. This is not the norm! so why on earth should Saudis not report crime from now on? Even though JonBenet's killers were never even prosecuted, murders are still reported in the US! (And no-one attacks Christianity because of what the DA did.)

Circumcision is against their religion - their holy book doesn't talk about circumcision specifically but forbids body modification. So it's a cultural thing, not a religious one. Actually, in those countries that allow for women's bodies to be mutilated, it's done regardless of the religion.

(From Ivanna-anna)

A monster, who rapes and murders five year-olds is not held accountable for anything but "blood money" because he is a Muslim cleric.

I want no part of a religion that tolerates this behavior from their clerics!

I do not believe that the mother will get the "blood money" because of the power this man has. She could not protect her own daughter from this homicidal rapist. How can she protect her blood money?

I can sense your sarcasm. Did you actually read my comment? Did I say to tolerate radical Islamic's. No I didn't. Go ahead and don't tolerate what they do, I don't like them either, what they do is terrible.

Like I said before, There are actually good Muslims out there.

Your comments only make people think that all Muslims are torturing five year olds.

That's all i'm trying to prevent. There are good Muslim/Islamic people out there, try talking to some before judging them altogether.

Question..
Do the words in the Qu'ran speak of killing those who convert, or not? Not much interpretation needed. Sure, there are those who do not actively practice or speak of these verses. They are more cultural Muslims, just like there are cultural Jews who do not believe what the Torah teaches.

Ivanna..can you tell me what it means to become an athiest, to turn ones back on God and Christ, because of disagreement over a man-made rule in one denomination? It seems like a small thing, to drive one to give up faith completely.

What I see in this article is the 'system' of Islam and the law degrading this little girl beyond death. She is reduced to a monetary sum, unlike a human life. A 'civil' punishment, not a criminal one. Criminals can be put to death for stealing and their words..but not killing their daughter??

Anonymous said...

I am fairly "tolerant" but the Muslim religion is crazy. The religion itself was set up by a terrible human being, so there is no "kindness" at the center of the religion as there is with Christianity (Jesus) or Budhism (Budha). Even amongst "enlightened " Muslims in U.S.A., they are very intolerant of other skin colors, belief systems and very controlling of their whole families and kids to the point of mental abuse. I can honestly say Islam generates violence, misery and mental illness. And seems to condone (and even encourage) brutality towards the weak (and this is something you will not find in Christianity in it's true form).

Anonymous said...

Love is not at the center of the Islamic religion--it is a very sick religion and most adherants become sick in the mind to varying degrees because they don't understand basic concepts about love and forgiveness. In this case, we see sadistic, sociopathic behavior being condoned--this is one of their religious leaders? Beyond frightening.

Anonymous said...

If their religion was so great they wouldn't have to order death sentences on anyone who draws a cartoon of Mohammed. They know their religion is based around a terrible person, so when someone makes fun of him, it really hits home.

And I don't believe in the death penalty but I do for this guy. Seriously--he did that to his child--he is worse than any animal--I say fire up the electric chair--fry this POS!!!

There's a solution for Islamic men worrying about the virginity or purity of their women. How about an old timey chastity belt...with the husband or father holding the only keys?

Didn't kings or highly-placed men in the middle ages in absentia make their spouses wear these belts to be sure their bloodlines were protected? I am sure someone could design a 21st century chastity belt for Islamic husbands and fathers which would moderate the number of honor killings.

Yes, in case anyone should get uspet at my suggestion...I am being sarcastic.

dadgum said...

Ivanna, I didn't mean to sound critical. I just don't understand. Men make rules that God never put in place (in the NT there are women serving the flock and teaching).

Priests and nuns are Catholic culture, so is veneration of Mary. Thinking about it, they put Mary up there with God and Christ, which some consider very forward thinking.

Martin Luther said "sola scriptura", lean on the scriptures only, not on someone, or some church's, interpretation of them.

I don't follow a religion, this is exactly why. People will argue, debate etc forever. I choose to live my life by my own standards; love, honesty, hard work and within the law. Every religion has monsters. People who don't follow religion can be monsters too.
Just because you may be religious does not mean you are 'good'. In fact, people use their religion to hide the terrible things they do. Like lots of people who have power do.
I am tolerant of other peoples beliefs -don't necessarily agree with them, therefore I choose none. I am not a bad person for having no religion. I have decent morals, that's all I need. I judge people on their behaviour (how they treat others etc,not by their religion). To me, religion is irrelevant,it is how we live our lives that is important.I do not need a god/ religious leader to tell me what is right and wrong. I do not need anyone telling me that men and women are equal and children are precious. I know.

yours is a religion. you have beliefs, principles to follow and there are lots who hold what you hold who are also monsters.

monsters are found everywhere.

No matter if a belief system has a name or not, what you look towards as the final arbitrator of morals is your "god"; atheistic or monotheist. Everyone has a final arbitration on what is right and what is wrong.

Monsters are found everywhere in every belief system.

Let's say most serial killers are agnostics. Should agnosticism be considered the religion of serial killers?

Not at all.

Monsters also use religion to hide a guilty conscience.

What makes Islam different is its direct teaching against those who do not hold to it: the call for violence.

This makes it unique.

Keep safe in the weather, Peter and family..

I find it interesting to talk with people (in person is much easier) about their beliefs. Most who do not follow an organized religion never stop to realize that what they believe is their own religion.

I have heard folks say they have their own morals, personal standards, and live within the law. Those morals came from somewhere, as does the concept of standards. The law is written by someone else, over hundreds of years, and largely based on religious thought.

It is natural for people to think what they believe is right and true..something else to practice dogmatic and historical murder of those who do not agree. By this, I mean that the scripture, or recognized authority requires, approves, and rewards these acts in furtherance of the religion.

On a side note..two women in the Westboro group (not actually a Baptist church of any kind, it's a family of lawyers) who were media spokesmen, have left the organization. It will prove interesting to read their comments.

Hi Peter,

Monsters are everywhere, I agree with you, religious or not.

I didn't specifically make any comments about individual religions for the reason that I do not agree with a lot of what they teach. Islam being one of them.

I belong to my own social group with similar beliefs so I suppose I am part of a 'religion'. Just not one that worships someone or something.

This man is a well known Muslim cleric, so he and his peers set the standard for other Muslims.

He knew that she wasn't a virgin after he raped her, so he had Muslim license and authority to kill her without fear of consequences.

"Blood money" is a joke. His wife will die next if she tries to keep that money.

Trigger said...

I agree with Peter that Islam teaches that those who refuse to convert are to be punished with death.

"Honor killing" is acceptable and justified in Islamic families.

It was asked at the top of the thread:

"WHY did this thing DOUBT his 5 year old daughter's virginity"

The answer is simple:

The best chance for him to be absolved of "wrong-doing" under Islamic law, was to accuse his female victim of possible sexual immorality, and then to claim she "had to be killed" to preserve the family's "honor".

Theirs is a disgusting and disgraceful culture.

Oh dear, the radical ignorance means that people throw SA to the winds. Why do some men rape and murder female children/ their daughters anywhere? Because they want to. And because they think they can get away with it.

So when a psychopath blames 'Islam' you...er agree with him. Come on people!

I'm afraid IRA/ETA/Al Quaida are cults where psychopaths get to kill large numbers of people. The ideology is just an excuse.

Saudi Arabia is one of the most messed up countries in the world. It just happens to be nominally Muslim.
