Search of Moorer House & Harassment of Elvis Family

The following article is from Myhorrynews.com

The indications here suggest post crime behavior as well as acute mental health issues.  Also, note the article that follows.  This may be  a case of "water seeking its own level" as supporters of the Moorers may be attempting to bring even more pain upon Terry Elvis and his family.

From news report:

Spoiled meat, moldy potatoes and three guns lying in plain view were among the findings during an Horry County Police Department search of the home of Sidney and Tammy Moorer, according to a police report.
On Feb. 21, county police and other assisting agencies executed a search warrant at the Moorers' home in the 8700 block of Highway 814.
As a result of that search, Sidney Moorer, 38, and his wife, Tammy Moorer, 41, were taken into custody. They've since been charged with murder, kidnapping, obstruction of justice and two counts of indecent exposure in connection with the disappearance of Heather Elvis.
Elvis, 20, disappeared some time in the early morning hours of Dec. 18, 2013 and her vehicle was spotted at the Peachtree Boat Landing about 5:46 p.m. Dec. 19, police records state.
Police records and officials have confirmed Elvis was in communication with Sidney Moorer, with whom she had a relationship history, as late as 6 a.m. Dec. 18, and that she drove herself to the landing. Elvis herself has not been seen since.
Sidney and Tammy Moorer are due in court March 17 for a bond hearing on the murder charges.
According to the Feb. 21 police report, the Moorers and their children were present during the execution of the search warrant and they were all asleep in the downstairs master bedroom.
One family member was sleeping in an oversized chair while another was asleep on a mattress at the foot of the bed. A third family member was asleep on a mattress in the walk-in closet, the report said.
Police said in the report that three firearms were out in the open. Two long guns were leaning against the wall while a subcompact pistol rested on the night stand beside the bed.
"Overall, the home was in disarray and unsanitary," the officer wrote in the report.
Police further said in the report there was some sort of meat lying on the kitchen island and that it had aged for some time. Cooked potatoes were also on the counter top and had begun to mold.
The report also said trash was left on the counter tops and floors.
Upstairs, the home was in "complete disarray nearly in an unlivable manner," the report continued.
Hundreds of Legos were scattered on the floor with other children's toys, trash and clothes and the backyard was covered in animal feces, according to the report.
Police photographed the home during the search. The report also says investigators learned something "which gave cause for concern during the investigation," but what was learned was redacted from the report.

The report concluded by saying the case would be forwarded to the Department of Social Services.

Note:  unsanitary indicates risk to children's health, hence the forward to Social Services.

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a second harassment complaint filed by Terry Elvis, father of missing person Heather Elvis.
According to a police report filed Thursday, the incident occurred some time between midnight March 12 and midnight March 13.
The report says an officer met with Terry Elvis at his business on Howard Avenue around 11:53 a.m. March 13 in regards to a possible harassment.
Lt. Doug Furlong said via email that the harassment complaint stemmed from a post to a Facebook page concerning the Heather Elvis case.
The page included a video showing 33 seconds of footage shot in the direction of Terry Elvis' business at The Market Common. The video was shot from a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Redden Lane toward Yancey Way.
After viewing the video, Terry Elvis went to the back door of his business and noticed a red-colored "X" painted on the back door of his business.
Elvis said it had been about a year since seeing that side of the door, but noted he smelled fresh paint in the air, according to the report.
"The victim felt that the 'x' meant that he was being marked," the report said.
In a telephone interview Thursday evening,  Elvis clarified that the back door had been opened previously, but it had been about a year since he had seen the side of the door with the painted "X."
That observation was included in a revised report released late Thursday.
"I probably have not seen the backside of that door in a year. I go in and out of it on a regular basis but it is propped open when I go out of it so the backside of the door is always against the wall where you would not normally see it," Elvis said in statements to police. "When the door slipped to close on me, I was able to see the backside and the red x on it."
An officer collected a written statement from the victim and issued victim's advocate paperwork. The incident remains under investigation.
On Feb. 4, Terry Elvis filed a police report that said two white males in a matted black Jeep Wrangler made threatening comments about his younger daughter.
The Feb. 4 report occurred around 1:20 p.m., also at Elvis' business, the report said.
The vehicle in that incident is believed to be a mid-2000 model Jeep Wrangler, dark black in color (not shiny), with blacked out rims.
The vehicle is lifted with a black rag top. It has a tubular rear bumper and was not displaying a license plate at the time of the incident.
The vehicle was last seen speeding toward Johnson Avenue and then toward Farrow Parkway, according to the report.
Anyone with information related to this vehicle or either incident is asked to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department at (843) 918-1382.
Heather Elvis, 20, disappeared some time around 6 a.m. Dec. 18. Her vehicle was found around 5:46 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Peachtree boat landing in Socastee, according to police records.
Sidney Moorer, 38, and his wife, Tammy Moorer, 41, have been charged with murder, kidnapping, obstruction of justice and two counts of indecent exposure in connection with Heather Elvis' disappearance, according to arrest warrants.
The Moorers are due in court for a bond hearing the afternoon of Monday, March 17, according to the 15th Judicial Circuit. They have remained jailed since they were taken into custody during a search of their home on Feb. 21.

I often wonder how rabid supporters of suspects in serious crimes such as murder feel when their idol is found guilty in a court of law or confesses their involvement?

I have noticed, particulalry in the madeleine Mccann case that the supporters of kate and gerry are invariably rabid in their unwavering support.
So much so that even when confronted with evidence expalining why her parents are guilty of involvement they come up with reasons why the evidence is wrong, even when they accept it as right in other cases.
They will target bloggers and commentators mocking, deriding and even threatening anyone who doesn't agree with their claims of innocence.

What, i wonder will be their response should the mccanns be found guilty in a court of law?
Will they deny deny deny and claim miscarriage of justice?
Probably.

Whast if the mccanns actually confess to what really happened?
no doubt they will claim their were threatened into confessing etc.

What if the mccanns confess and take LE to Maddie's remains thus showing they were involved?
This would be harder for them to disprove since the mccanns took them to Maddie's remain proving guilty knowledge.

Will the apologise for all their nastiness and admit they were mislead?

will they continue with their defence of the mccanns despite all the confessions/evidence?
will they maintain a dignified silence and look for the next case to support?

I have a friend who believes in their innocence and who doesn't believe in SA calling it sh**e when i have facebook linked to various cases we are following.
Her sh**e comment came as a response to the Myra Lewis case.

In each case i have taken the time to explain why i believe in said persons guilt, showing the evidence in the subjects words as well as any physical evidence, yet, when asked, she like many others cannot or will not provide any logical reason why they believe in the subjects innocence.

Because,is not a reason.
She/he is too cute/educated/ famous/respectable/ a professional such as doctor is not a reason either.
Not one has said their words tell me they are innocen, their behavior, the evidence.

One site JATYK2 rabidly supports the mccanns innocence (the founder was a former white hat - mccanns are guilty supporter)mocks, demeans, derides and pours scorn on all of us who believe the mccanns are involved and have guilty knowledge.
Blogs that are pro Maddie explain their reasonings, show the links/statementts etc and how they came to their conclusion. the pro kate and gerry sites never respond with facts/evidence or even valid expalnations as to why we are all wrong, they resort to name calling and mocking.
They do so because they can't come up with anything to show innocence.
No evidence or reasons means resorting to name calling.

I wonder how they will react when the mccanns are eventually jailed and they have been shown to be erroneous in their belief of innocence.

I don't expect them to say sorry you were right, i want the to be aware of not buying into the drama, the emotionalism, the spindoctoring. I want them to actually listen to what is said rather than what they think was said.
I and many others are more than willing to explain why we think what we think and answer any questions they have about any case we are working on or interested in where possible

I find this story confusing. Did Terry Elvis check the back door of his business after seeing the video someone posted? Was there an "X" painted on the door in the video, or was the door propped open?

from the article it sounds like the video didn't get all the way to the back door -- just led close to it.

How can the authorities have SO MUCH evidence in cases like ayla and Hailey Dunn's and not prosecute?!? I'm just guessing but all of us that comment here are just average people and we see from the little we've read who the likely suspects are in these cases... something needs to be done...

This is not to defend them, as they are probably guilty BUT
"Hundreds of Legos were scattered on the floor"
Um...is this seriously noteworthy? Some lego sets come with 1000's of legos.
Is this cause for concern that they were on the floor???
Sleeping in same room, again, not to defend them, but they had stated there were threats towards them and their kids so maybe they were sleeping together in the same room out of fear?

Terry Elvis' story about the X on the back of his work door that he hasnt looked at in a year but he happened to see it when "it slipped to close on him" but "is NORMALLY shut" I wont bother analyzing it since everyone here can analyze.

I am not surprised at the state of their house.

Remember, disney princesses never do housework unless they are Cinderalla or Snow White and that's only up to when they become a disney princess.

Having guns lying around is to thwart and big bad wolves dressed like granny or wicked step mothers seeking to get rid of the nasty step daughter/princess in waiting.

No doubt tammy was struggling finding sundry wildlife to do all her housework whilst she dreams of the day her prince will come
so she had to resort to using her children and mancub to at least show willing.

Tammy dreams herself as the princess when in fact she is the wicked stepmother who controls her prince charming.

I bet she isn't too happy that LE have destroyed her fantasy life, You don't see disney princesses being arrested for killing their enemy, the eicked step mother, the wicked witch, the big bad wolf or sundry other nasty characters.

If the princess can get away with murder in the movies why can't she get away with it now?

In this article it states that Terry Elvis went to the back after watching a 33 second footage of video posted on Facebook.

Then he explained why he had not checked on the back door.  His explanation of why he had not checked the back door before is unexpected. Additionally, it states that the revised report was submitted Thursday.  This means something changed to his story.

In regards to the Moorer home, why would keep a police officer from outright stating that the Moorer home was unlivable, but "nearly" unlivable. He/she couldn't bring them self to write it.

I believe they are guilty, but what I'm starting to draw from this is that the Moorer's have been silent and the police is threatening them with the fear of losing their kids to get one of them to talk.

I hope Heather is found and that justice be served, hopefully soon, but this makes me believe the evidence is lacking for a conviction without testimony from one of them.

Media reporting dictates our feelings if we are not careful.

I question the reporter or writer of article Peter posted. The article in it's self is poor reporting.

This is a good article:

"This is not the first time Elvis has complained about being harassed since Heather Elvis went missing on Dec. 18.

On Feb. 4, Terry Elvis called police when he said the passenger of a black Jeep reportedly made a verbal threat to the him.

Elvis told police there were two white males in a black Jeep. The passenger of the vehicle yelled out to the victim, "We already have Heather, (Elvis' other daughter) is next."

Elvis said the driver and passenger sped off south towards Johnson Avenue and then east towards Farrow Parkway.

On Wednesday around 10 am, Terry Elvis was alerted by friends to a video that was on Facebook that had just been posted earlier Wednesday, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

"The victim stated that he viewed the video that had a posting of 11 hours prior at 12:59 am on March 13, 2014. The victim viewed the 33 second video that was shot from inside of a vehicle facing outward," police said in a report.

The video showed the vehicle travel north bound on Redden Lane to the stop sign located at Yancey Way, police said. The vehicle turned left/east bound onto Yancey Way and the camera is turned to face the back of the buildings behind the victim's business, police said.

After viewing the video, the victim went out the rear door of his business that exits onto Yancey Way to attempt to see where the video was shot from, police said.

Terry Elvis told police that when the door closed, he observed a red in color "x" painted on the rear door to his business."

It is all in the reporter and writer.....

Legos? This is what you focus on?! Seriously?! After all the filth, garbage, feces, mold, unsanitary, unlivable conditions! Are you kidding me???!!!

Yes you are defending them.

Don't minimized this disgusting home where children tried to live by saying other homes are FAR worse! If there is far worse anywhere and you knew about it...you should have reported it! Duh!!!]

"Hundreds of legos on the floor. C'mon that's a joke right?!"

Randie, you wrote

Even if I agreed with you that the conditions in their house were debased and filthy, it would not be supportive evidence of them having committed murder. I would believe in their guilt if I heard what the actual evidence is against them.

It was not just Legos scattered about that made the upstairs unliveable, clothes and trash everywhere with the Legos make for disarray and unliveable conditions.
